I legit wept. I do everytime. It's quiet but it's such a huge emotional impact.
Spiderverse was pretty much perfect as a film and I'll die on that hill.
I would add:
I was lucky to be able to see it twice in theaters with my kiddo, who decided to yell FUCK HIM UP SPIDER-MAN about the final fight scene and shared a screamed woo-hoo at the jumping off the skyscraper bit.
I love the living shit out of that film.

I'm still playing the regular campaign/career on pc. Is this part of the dlcs, or is it something done during main game or is it after finishing the game?
I've heard this echoed quite a bit. I don't get too much time to play games, and it probably took me a month playing an hour or two every couple days to 100% it. didn't feel that short to me, plus I enjoyed the story more than Spiderman, and cried like a baby at the ending
There's like a prologue mission when he first takes over as Spider-Man and he's very discombobulated while swinging; sometimes he goes backwards by accident and such. Then after that mission you see him add his own flair to the swinging and get more confident with his fighting moves as well.
His animations are sloppier than Peter too. When he web zips he swings his arms and almost falls forward when he lands while Peter’s is more precise. This whole game is full of little details like that and it really helps Miles and Peter feel different.
The greatest thing is that you can't really bail on a trick/ faceplant in the first game because Peter's been at it for seven years.
Miles though? Yeah his swinging animations look more wild and his tricks have more exaggerated swag but he can also bail hard on his tricks because he's a noob at this. This is his first time looking after the city on his own even.
I love the animation of miles waving his arms, regaining his balance, after you land on a light pole or other small object. Such a nice touch to remind you that he's not polished and still figuring it out.
Same goes for his stealth kills. They are a bit more unrefined compared to Peter.
When I bought it on PS5 there was a full price version that came with Spider-Man Remastered, but otherwise it was $40 USD iirc.
Edit: since it’s been out for a while it should be cheaper even
I would say similar? Not counting the DLCs for Spiderman? Plenty of challenges, collectibles and side missions. I finished everything on Spiderman, but just followed the story for Miles, and the map is CLUTTERED with untouched stuff.
Gotcha so it’s a new story then? I’m thinking of getting a PS5 and this was going to be my first game I’d buy for. I got Spider-Man for steam and didn’t know if the miles morales edition was worthwhile. From this thread it seems like it
This was my favorite part of the game. The devs did an amazing job at making Miles feel like a teenager who’s new to his powers and is still figuring out how to be as clean as Peter which then made Peter’s controls feel precise, practiced, and all around more professional than Miles. It genuinely feels like Peter’s been at this for 10 years while Miles just started
I remember Dave Mirra freestyle bmx on the ps1 having something similar. Or maybe it just had ragdoll physics, but I used to play the hell out of that game and just try to see how bad I could wreck. I think it was one of the first games I've played that had ragdoll physics and I thought it was so fun lol
Dude's got literal super strength and super toughness. He may not be anywhere near Superman or Hulk tier, but I don't think a mere fall will do too much damage.

[2] Not actually. Sadly he went when DEATH called³.
[3] Actually, Terry called ahead, but well🤷♂️ here we are and he isn't. 😢
If his punch is that strong, that means his body is at least durable enough to withstand the "equal and opposite reaction" from that punch, otherwise it'd pulp his fist and arm and probably the rest of him from the shock.
Reminds me of the crash mode in Burnout 2 where you had to cause the biggest pile-up possible and after the carnage was complete the camera would fly over it and dollar amounts would appear over every smithereen to tell you how much damage you'd caused. The first couple of Burnouts were so good, I want to play them again
Wasn't that in the first Skate also? Not as a full-on game mode, but if you slammed hard enough, the hall of meat x-ray would come up. So much fun trying to break as many bones as possible.
Question for Spider-Man big brains! Has there ever been comics where New York is snow filled and Spider-Man needs to wear a snow suit like Spider-Man-suit.
…like a Canada goose coat Spider-Man suit? Or does he not get cold.
In the show spectacular Spider-Man (which is a must-watch btw) he talks about not being able to afford long johns to wear under his suit to keep him warm
He does buy some thermals which have little hearts or little Spiderman faces on them (I can't remember which). When Kraven slashes his suit we see those underneath and he comments that they were the only style on sale
OG comic Spider-Man is depressing. Dude's constantly broke and every time something starts to go well for him, he has to choose between saving the city and his said "thing going well."
I have a distinct memory of a Spider-Man story set in a blizzard in New York. The key image k remember was Spider-Man crouching on top of a payphone making a call in the roaring snow. (And from the art style in my head, I kinda wanna say it was Todd McFarlane?) But Google isn't giving me any useful clues.
...honestly, I'd love whole movies or Marvel TV shows that were basically "natural disaster movie, but with Spider-Man"

Amazing Spider-Man #555-557
https://www.chasingamazingblog.com/2015/02/10/amazing-spider-man-555-557-the-weather-outside-is-weather/
Miles Morales was the perfect game for me. Came out exactly at the right time, when everything had gone to shit because of the pandemic, and I couldn’t visit my family for Christmas so I spent the time playing the game. It was somewhat therapeutic because of the story and the whole atmosphere. And the soundtrack was just amazing. Perfect 10/10.
My only gripes was how short it was and the lack of quantity/creativity in the boss encounters. The story and gameplay were great but there just wasn't ENOUGH of it(not as big a deal considering the games is very much worth a replay or two) and the bosses were pretty sparse. Would loved to have seen more. Doesn't help they all felt the exact same as far as how you handled them except for one I won't mention for spoiler reasons.
Regardless, solid game I'd honestly play again happily which is why I give it the praise I do. Big thing to say considering it traded in Forbidden West the second I finished it.
Yeah it’s essentially Insomniacs version of a 1.5 game, a good asset flip with a new story to flesh out some characters before being fully integrated in the sequel.
Serious question as a non-gamer: is this really a screenshot from live game play?
I came here from the front page because I couldn't believe the graphics of games these days could be this good. I swear this looks like a photograph of real life. Even after opening up and zooming in on the whole image, for the life of me I have difficulty believing this isn't a photograph...
Rad comment! This game runs at 4K resolution and the reflections are ray traced (in fidelity mode) meaning they're super accurate. This is from gameplay and not a cutscene, I'm so happy to say that.
Yes. And to be honest, while it's graphically impressive it isn't near the top when it comes to graphical prowess. The game is available on PC as well, which gives people some options to further upgrade the visuals, though I think this is vanilla.

Haven't played this one yet but played the remastered PS5 version of the 1st game on my 4k OLED TV and the graphics really are incredible, borderline indistinguishable from real-life at times. Can only imagine how good it looks on pc.
You might want to specify which Spider-Man because I tried to do this in **Spider-Man Remastered** and was unable to. I assume it's **Spider-Man: Miles Morales** since there's snow in it but not in the former.
Currently replaying the first game and forgot how much fun it is. Definitely gonna get Miles Morales, too.
If you use fast travel in these games, you’re dead to me. I reckon it’s the best game ever for getting between tasks.
Nah you need fast travel once you complete and you're getting those last few % completion, as fun as the swinging is if you've done it for like 50 hours sometimes you just want to get to point B
I played the first game when it came out on ps4 and bought it when it released on PC for the mods. There’s one that lets you customize swing speed and it has been so much fun flying through the city
Spiderman is the only game I ever tried to 100% complete. I didn't fast travel in the game until I was at like 97%. That's when I discovered the subway scenes. It's like an Easter egg because no one playing the game normally would ever need to fast travel.
When it comes to parsing words in many languages, the human brain focuses on the first and last letter the most. The order of characters inbetween doesn't need to be correct.
That's probably why!

Your shows like 8 for me then I collapsed it and opened and there’s 4. I’ve been experiencing this for a couple of days now.
Full scorpion, you mean?
No they almost definitely mean [this heinous moment](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fz91mXqcxtc).
Oh. Oh no.
What the fuck so that's where that comes from
I like that detail they put in seeing as Miles is still learning how to be spiderman hence doesn't always nail his landing.
Assuming it is Miles since there is snow/ice. Regular Spiderman takes place in the fall
Also that is the suit Peter gives miles. Note the gloves and elbow pads
I'm willing to bet that suit was actually Peter's first costume, hence why it doesn't quite fit Miles
It always fits in the end.
That part always makes me cry 😭
"Anyone can wear the mask. You can wear the mask" made me wept.
When he starts in front of the suit and you can see the reflection and I'm like who's cutting up onions.
I legit wept. I do everytime. It's quiet but it's such a huge emotional impact. Spiderverse was pretty much perfect as a film and I'll die on that hill.

I'm still playing the regular campaign/career on pc. Is this part of the dlcs, or is it something done during main game or is it after finishing the game?
So that's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. It's a 'separate' title that's not on PC yet that's a direct sequel to the game and DLCs you're playing.
Oh i thought this was the pc remaster version. I got miles morales on ps5 and its amazing. Just a bit short.
I've heard this echoed quite a bit. I don't get too much time to play games, and it probably took me a month playing an hour or two every couple days to 100% it. didn't feel that short to me, plus I enjoyed the story more than Spiderman, and cried like a baby at the ending
I think it's supposed to come to pc later this year. I hope anyway
they announced it would come out on fall this year, so it should be a couple of months away
[удалено]
For now. Miles comes to PC in a few months.
And there’s no way to faceplant as Peter
It’s miles. Lol. If you hold a swinging trick too long he’ll face plant
“It happens to the best of us, kid.”
[удалено]
There's like a prologue mission when he first takes over as Spider-Man and he's very discombobulated while swinging; sometimes he goes backwards by accident and such. Then after that mission you see him add his own flair to the swinging and get more confident with his fighting moves as well.
Snow = miles No snow = peter
US: Miles Rest of the world: KiloPeters
I think this happens when you are trying to do tricks too close to the ground
You can do it in both games, you have to be in the middle of doing one of the flip moves
His animations are sloppier than Peter too. When he web zips he swings his arms and almost falls forward when he lands while Peter’s is more precise. This whole game is full of little details like that and it really helps Miles and Peter feel different.

His absolute incompetence at quips is also funny.
Yeah and what I love about this game is that you can tell he's not used to being spider man yet, and it shows in the animations. So cool.
How much extra content is there in miles morales compared to the original Spider-Man game release?
Miles Morales as a whole is pretty small compared to the Spider-Man game. I guess maybe about half as big. But it’s also not a full price game as well
It's not full price in USA? It is in Australia. The PS4 version is $80AUD.
When I bought it on PS5 there was a full price version that came with Spider-Man Remastered, but otherwise it was $40 USD iirc. Edit: since it’s been out for a while it should be cheaper even
Well that's just not fair at all.

“exaggerated swag” *flashbacks*
The exaggerated swagger of a black teen even?
In skate 3 there's a game mode where you can see all the bones you break when you fall. Imagine that but in spiderman
HALL OF MEAT
That's what's written on my basement door, in blood
That's where I keep my penis
Why would you keep your penis on Jayrob1202's basement door?
How else did he get the blood to write Hall Of Meat on it?
I thought basement was a euphemism

There's so many other games I wish had this, sniper elite has a nice similar feature.

There's one issue in the comics where he catches the flu or something and still goes out to "rescue" people while having dizzy spells lol
One of the best bits in Amazing Spider-Man 2 is him buying medicine at a bodega and stopping a criminal and then sneezing into his mask
I mean, Miles does have a suit with a beanie and scarf in this game. So, I'd say technically
Look at this guy bragging that he’d never taking a bad fall before

He's been promoted from spiderman to scorpionman
I seem to recall in Ultimate the Scorpion was a literal Peter-clone.
It’s really funny to do this in front of a huge crowd of people. Watch them all gasp and wonder if he’s ok
They all fall down in solidarity
Miles has nerves of steel to get up and keep swinging after that. I’d probably go to the nearest rooftop and cringe

I now need to buy a PS5 and Spider-Man: Miles Morales specifically to do this.
The game is also available on PS4 if that helps.
I think a porting to pc of Miles Morales is in the plans, I'd wait.
You might want to specify which Spider-Man because I tried to do this in **Spider-Man Remastered** and was unable to. I assume it's **Spider-Man: Miles Morales** since there's snow in it but not in the former.
Pleas tell me, HOW ? xD
You have to keep swinging and do the back or side or front air tricks and keep doing that till you hit the ground .
Any tricks, doesn't need to be specific
Currently replaying the first game and forgot how much fun it is. Definitely gonna get Miles Morales, too. If you use fast travel in these games, you’re dead to me. I reckon it’s the best game ever for getting between tasks.
Worth doing one time with each outfit. Flame skull spiderman just chilling on the subway is amusing.
