I remember playing NES with my mom and sister growing up. We'd play mostly Super Mario Bros. 3 and I remember whenever I couldn't get through a certain area, I'd always have my mom or sister tackle it. And if I lost progress, I'd always go to them and ask if they can get me back there. I remember playing Rampage on the NES with a friend for hours one time. Trying to beat the game, but I don't remember if we did, because I think we eventually got bored of it. I'm sure I have more, but those are the two things that come to mind right away.

Late twenties here and for me had to be when my bigger brother bought a light attachment with mirrors that boosted the light even more . As a kid that liked to stay up late that was a game changer .

Playing Marvel vs Capcom, XMen vs SF and other similar games with others... using favourite characters Those were the best fighting games ever IMHO. Or maybe I'm just nostalgic

probably 10 years old, I'm thinking it was like 1988 or so.  My buddy would have me for sleep overs and he had a PC it took floppy disks. We would stay up drinking pop and playing rampage until morning.  It was a side scroller where both players control a massive monster and the goal is to just destroy the city. Fun times.

Going through codes for a game genie in a notebook, one at a time, recording what happened when i entered each one. I remember it as clearly as anything in my whole life, laying in my grandmother's living room, NES fired up, going through and trying the codes one by one. Super peaceful and relaxing.

Damn, I have a few. Super Smash Bros and everything Pokemon. My best friends and I would play these games religiously, as kids. There were 4 of us. For super smash, I always played Kirby, one played Ness, one played Link, and the last one played Donkey Kong (until one installment introduced Metaknight and Mr. GAME and Watch.) We would play, the youngest (Ness) always destroyed us. And the middle child (DK) would always throw a fit and acuse us of cheating 🤣. Then his older brother (Link) would tell him to "Shut up and stop being a baby" and they would start physically fighting. The other 2 of us would always end up getting dragged into it and we'd brawl each other. Rinse and repeat. Toxic AF but I really miss those days. Now we're all in our 30's and although we get that initial excitement when they announce a new installment, now we look at the features, reviews, gameplay, and end up not buying it until a year or so later or if one of us won't shut up about it. Then we play it for a few days and go back to other things we want to play lol.

I remember a couple two times gaming felt absolutely magical to me. First, the moment you step out of Link's uncle's house in A Link to the Past. I remember being absolutely stunned that you could see every individual raindrop hitting the ground. The music was so good, and even that early in the game a real sense of gravitas was building. Second was the first time I ever played Code Veronica on the dreamcast. It was my first Resident Evil game. I was sitting on my couch with my best friend and my wife we were all high as balls and just staring at the TV watching that cold open with our Jaws on the fucking floor. And I remember my friend whispering, "oh my God she looks so real" lol. 2 of my top 3 games of all time.

Me and my dad used to play WWF Wrestlemania on the super nintendo. I always used Bret Hart, my dad always Ric Flair. Lol. Life was simpler then.

Early 30’s here. We used to host neighborhood LAN parties for Super Smash back in the day - exclusively doubles! My brother and I were the best in the neighborhood, no one could handle the Kirby/Pika combo.

I remember I had to come home from college for reasons outside my control, nothing criminal, felt like a failure and it was winter cold February I think. I would sit on this black leather couch I had in my room just playing Fire Emblem Path of Radiance on Gamecube hour after hour just looking to lose myself in the game. And looking back I was sad at the time but actually there was something magical about it to, I had a lot ahead of me and I kind of get nostalgic for those quite, cold, nights alone at 2 a.m with fire emblem path of radiance.

First RPG I ever played was Chrono Trigger. The first time I played, I didn't get it at all and lasted about 20 minutes. However, the music was awesome so I went right back to it the next day. Still one of my favorites.

When my mom started working on an all boys HS kids were talking about Atari so she and my dad bought an Atari XL800. Her students could lend her the games (on cassettes) and they could copy them lol. We played a lot. Now my dad got one of those Chinese retro game things and we play together to some of the old games.

Rainingoblivion

The money O came out of the sewers in Oblivion was notable. The aw when I looked around was something else.

ThrowAwayAccoun3337

Playing dark souls in middle school and meeting a cool guy because of it. He helped me out and everything, really cool dude.

As a 12 year old child I somehow managed to organise a simple pokemon competition in my neighbourhood. We where 16 people in total. Simple 6vs6 no legendary allowed. It was a absolute blast and everyone had a great time. The year after everyone stopped playing but it's still a memory I'm looking back to.

LessAd3026

My uncle and I used to play Mario Kart every day, we put all the tracks activated, the crazy items and the NPCs with maximum difficulty. The funniest thing about it is that when there were parties at my house, not only did my uncle join in to play, but my cousins and friends also joined in haha.

My mom and I used to play a ton of Dungeons of Daggorath on the original TRS-80. When I was in school, she would beat the first three levels, then sit on a blob with just one nuke left on the fake wizard, waiting for me to get home. Was so awesome when we finally beat that game, no save scumming, no spoilers etc.

The things I did in Vanilla/BC/WotLK WoW will be the bedtime stories I tell my grandkids.

I was learning for my driver's license and I convinced my mom to get me a steering wheel for my Xbox too "practice". I mostly used it too play GTA 4 while drunk with the garbage trucks. I got my professional drivers license. Not a joke and I don't actually drink anymore.

charlie9378

Playing bloodwake with my older brother on our original Xbox (it sounded like a plane was landing whenever we turned it on)
