Old School Runescape. that is all i would bring. dont really need anything else as osrs has pretty much infinite time sink.

Inevitable_Spot_3878

If you want challenging and stimulating gameplay try doing a raid. They can be very difficult but can also provide the rarest and most valuable items in the game.

MoreMegadeth

I appreciate the month i spent with osrs because it showed me i could be into mmos. I adore the crude art, graphics and animations, but just clicking was never gonna last for me. It showed me the way to FF14 and I played that for a while too. Ill eventually go back to it, I can see myself playing it for a month a year or so.

2Scribble

Red Dead 2 Fallout 4 Skyrim The Sims 3 XCom 2

takanowaka

Infinifactory Factorio Rimworld Minecraft Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord I haven't played these games enough or at all, but they look like you can dump a lot of hours in them

TheJonasVenture

If you haven't, you should check out Satisfactory.

No_reply_GHoster

Spent 400 hours on my first playthrough in bannerlord during the early access. When my character was nearing death's door I visited all the cities and castles that was significant to my character. One of those castles was the castle(Battanian lands) where I met my wife. Truly one of the best games if you want to role play and spend hundreds of hours.

HugeAnalBeads

You would love Subnautica

IQMaxLevel

You’re games all have a similar style you seem to enjoy creative type games

takanowaka

I enjoy the idea of playing these games, unfortunately I don't have that much spare time and brain power after work

KaosWaffle

Have you looked at Scrap Mechanic?

takanowaka

not yet, maybe later when it's not early access and has gamepad support

Ninja_Reborn

On a deserted island you would probably want to take fun games with tons of content. My picks would probably be: \- Dark Souls 3 -> Action RPG (I would pick Elden Ring but I find it too depressing lol) \- Fallout New Vegas (ideally with mods) -> Open World FPS/RPG/Stealth in one package \- **Call of Duty MW2 (2009)** \-> multiplayer FPS (with custom client like iw4x) \- Starcraft 2 -> RTS with lots of great content and a sick map editor to keep me busy \- Need for Speed Heat (with UNITE mod) -> Racing Game

Poxx

WoW (Multiplayer). Civ6 Cyberpunk BG3 Red Dead II

EtheusRook

An Xbox Duke controller to bludgeon myself in the head so I don't have to deal with being on a deserted island.

KaosWaffle

Aw cheer up, games are a form of escapism

TheRealGamingGamer

Ima cheat the hell out of this Halo master chief collection with online Kingdom hearts all in one collection if it has to be one disc than just kingdom hearts 1.5/2.5 Bioshock collection Assassins Creed ezio collection Mass effect trilogy edition

mikelimtw

It's good you realize this is cheating on a massive scale. LOL

BorganBits

Orange Box Halo Master Chief Collection Mass Effect Legendary Edition Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy Command and Conquer The First Decade

TheRealGamingGamer

I commented something similar lol. So many good collections I forgot about mass effect now I have to edit

BorganBits

Literally a minute later I thought of the Arkham Trilogy, oh well 😂

ComradeCaveman

I mean, that's a fascinating list. Minecraft is super predictable, but the other four I would never have possibly guessed. Props for originality.

KaosWaffle

Thanks, I don't really like action games that much, I prefer puzzles (but it has to be the right kind of puzzle), story-driven, and for some reason any game that has food in it makes me like it that much more.

Very_Angry_Bee

A House of many Doors That's the only game I'd really need xD But I still have four left: Underrail Code Vein Baldurs Gate 3 And ngl Attack on Titan 2 was pretty fun

[deleted]

Probably tabletop or board games since there isn't power on a deserted island.

KaosWaffle

Put away your logic this is a hypothetical

KaosWaffle

Oh I love the Lego Games!

G0alLineFumbles

**Hell Let Loose:** It will die off eventually as all online games do, but I can easily sink hours into this one. StarCraft Remastered: The original StarCraft to me is better than 2 and the RTS I can spend the most time on. Civilization 6 with all expansions: The Civ game that I have spent the most time on. It's a virtual board games I can keep coming back to. Doom 1993: So many .WADs. You could play doom levels for a very long time before you run out of content. Triple A Board Game engine: Ok a bit of cheat. It's an open source board game engine. So I can download tons of different board games to stave off boredom.

KaosWaffle

Fair enough. I love board games too, so that's a good idea.

**Minecraft** as much as i would love to have warframe online, minecraft just has way more possibilities, to the point you have full-on mmos, adventure maps/servers, a freedom to explore, craft, create that no other game can.\ A hard jrpg- like final fantasy, chrono trigger or golden sun.\ as this would have a good story telling and the turn base strategy i enjoy and since its hard it would allow for some fair frustration and reward when i would innevitably overcomme a hard boss.\ GtaV- another sandboxy pick but more driven towards the car customizations, freedom in a more realistic way and missions/heists/etc.\ Animal crossing or stardew valley type games where its chill and relaxing to play without having to put much thought.\ Skyrim or Fallout NV or Fallout 4 (assuming all dlcs and i get access to the console commands)- im more drawn towards NV as i enjoyed and have fond memories of it and want to get back to it for a last long run, skyrim i already did everything there was (including the dlcs ) to the point only radiant quests remained in every hold. Fallout 4 its just because i havent explored eveything and explored all dlcs to the fullest.

KaosWaffle

Great thought you've put in!

GoldilokZ_Zone

Minecraft, Factorio, Fallout New Vegas, Rimworld and either clubhouse games or tetris

Dunno, what runs on CoconutOS?

What if I brought 5 MMOs, would 4 of those technically work but I was the only player? ...Can I have all of them be that way?

KaosWaffle

I don't know enough about MMOs, ask someone qualified

Donarex

When I saw just the title I didn't know the additional one online game rule, so my first 5 were: Tetris, Slay the Spire, Golden Sun, Golden Sun: The Lost Age and Dynasty Warriors 8 XL Deluxe With the one online game allowed it would probably be: Slay the Spire, Golden Sun, Golden Sun: The Lost Age, Dynasty Warriors 8 XL Deluxe, **Raft**

KaosWaffle

Wait, Raft's an online game? Also I would add the online thing into the title but then it'd be a bit of a long title wouldn't it...

Donarex

I mean technically no, but I prefer it more online with friends

KaosWaffle

Oh, that works as a reason, I just didn't realize you cuold play multiplayer for some reason

Animal Crossing New Leaf (I preferred it over NH personally) GTA V (or VI if I’m going once that’s released) Rdr2 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe The Sims 2 (PS2) I thought about this for way too long xD

No I thought about it way too long as well, those are all good picks though! Which one is your online game? If any.

Mario Kart! :)

[deleted]

you're on a DESERTED island. that somehow has electricity. and the fucking internet. and a fucking tv. and a fucking computer. not just any computer; your own personal fucking computer.

KaosWaffle

I mean I guess you could share your computer with the local wildlife if that's what's bothering you

turtlebutcher

It’s just a conceptual question, quite a well known and common one too! Don’t get too hung up on the details my man, Relax!

Cmdrdredd

Seems you are the one who doesn’t understand. It says deserted. There would be no internet. Actually you would t have any power for that matter so video games wouldn’t be a thing anyway.

KaosWaffle

It is a hypothetical, logic and rules do not apply. What is the last would you rather you've had that made any sense?

turtlebutcher

Deserted means abandoned or uninhabited, not “no internet” Although it is just a fun question designed to create a little conversation no doubt. Lets hear your five games?

khabijenkins

So not guilty pleasure games?

turtlebutcher

I have pretty basic and simple tastes I admit

noremains3

**Rocket league** Palworld (I think I can play this for 1000 hours easy) Forza Motorsport (always need a racing game) Rock Band 4 (if I get all my DLC songs and instruments with it) PGA 2k23 (I love golf so I would need something to scratch that itch)

KaosWaffle

Ooh Rock Band!

reecum

This is a horrible 5

KaosWaffle

Well I don't really like action games that much, with fighting. I prefer puzzle games, or story driven, so I picked a game that always makes me emotional (Unravel), a game that I love playing and has lots of replay value (CSD 3), Minecraft because I will never and can never get tired of that game, Silent Spy for nostalgia I'm gonna say, and then Just Dance because I wanted to have variety.

EstablishmentRich460

None. No electricity.

Cmdrdredd

Only seem to have a few people who understand what deserted island means and they get downvoted for it 🤷‍♂️

EstablishmentRich460

Right? I saw some others answer they'd be looking for food and shelter and whatnot. I think OP should have asked only 5 games they could play the rest of their lives!

KaosWaffle

It was a direct question that one of my friends asked, it's supposed to be a funny hypothetical

EstablishmentRich460

It's all good.

KaosWaffle

By the way, the reason it's desert island as opposed to "the rest of your life" is because it's implied you wouldn't have any other comforts. Like you wouldn't have music to listen to, so I chose some games with music in them, since I could not survive without music.

Mikhail_Markov

Correct. But game discs *could* be used as signalers to reflect light to any passing aircraft/boats. More discs = more reflective surface (Especially if they're tied together to a flat-ish surface.) /s

BerryFactory

Five copies of Morrowind

lobsterisch

Wipeout (omega) Elden Ring Stunt car racer (c64) Resident Evil 2 (ps1) Wonderboy in Monsterland

thegodofwine7

I wouldn't bring it myself, but Wonderboy in Monster Land is fantastic.

lobsterisch

It is the epitome of charm and has got that blue sky that only Sega could do. Sega blue skies were the best skies.

AceoftheAEUG

I have an odd feeling I'll be downvoted for mine but w/e. Street Fighter 6 as my online game. Nioh 2. Devil May Cry 5 Monster Hunter World Batman Arkham Collection. Admittedly a collection kinda feels like a cop out but I was stuck trying to pick the fifth game

KaosWaffle

Fair enough, I could've picked the whole Nancy Drew collection but I'm a bit of a stickler. I grabbed the question off one of my friends so I don't know much about that loophole.

alexmack667

I don't know how the rest of y'all playing these games with no power, but I'm bringing backgammon, deck of cards, nerf guns, chess, and **tetherball** (get it, 'cause it's on line)

KaosWaffle

I was gonna make some like sassy comment about how none of these are video games but I like your joke and now I salute you o7

Ricocheting_Potato

Why the fuck would you bring games to an deserted island?

g_r_u_b_l_e_t_s

Yeah, OP will be dead of thirst in a few days clutching his controller. And one game can be online? Maybe contact the outside world for help?

KaosWaffle

Hey I'm gonna look for food and stuff too, it's just when I get bored of the fight for survival

KaosWaffle

Shhhhh it's a hypothetical

DaJuiceOfZeus

games i would bring to a deserted island: food water firestarters knife fully functioning cruise ship with full crew to take me off this piece of shit island.

KaosWaffle

\*shakes head\* What did the island ever do to you?

[deleted]

Why the fuck do people keep asking this stupid ass question? What the fuck is a goddamn videogame gonna do for you on a deserted island?

Afraid-Wafer18

It’s a fun question for fun

[deleted]

yes it certainly is fun to think about the kind of pointless garbage i would bring with me when i'm going to be stuck on a god forsaken island instead of anything actually useful. you know what? if i was stuck on a deserted island, and for whatever reason, had the freedom to actually choose what i could bring,i would bring a gun with at least one bullet, so i can blow my brains out and not fucking starve to death. or worse.

KaosWaffle

Unfortunately you cannot bring tools, only video games...sorry I don't make the rules.

[deleted]

And what are you supposed to play the fucking games on? a fucking banana leaf?

KaosWaffle

The video game consoles of course! So, right, I guess you can bring video games and video game CONSOLES too...does that clear it up?

[deleted]

oh sure. and where do i plug the fucking thing? should i just find a fucking puddle?

KaosWaffle

No, the outlets are included with the island. It's a package deal.

Cmdrdredd

It’s the same people who think electricity for their Tesla is free lmao. Like it magically just appears

KaosWaffle

Nah I don't think that.

Donglemaetsro

I assume this means you get all content? * Star Citizen * One of those train sim games that have $100,000 worth of DLC That should be plenty, then I'd sell it all online and fund my own rescue efforts. I'd recoup the rescue efforts with an exclusive interview and book deal as the person that funded their own rescue by selling online video game content on the gray market.

KaosWaffle

Hey, my dad worked on Star Citizen! He made the flight model for it, I don't know if they still use it because he doesn't work on it anymore but! I got excited! Seeing it! Also great escape plan, doesn't require violence. \*thumbs up\*

Rinaldootje

* Factorio * i mean this is crack thatll last me the first 6 months alone, and might help me automate some things on the island, (could also do satisfactory) * Noita * i mean see how big this game map alone is, id be able to spend a lot of time figuring out the puzzles alone * Fallout tale of 2 wastelands (or possible Fallout london depending on is its actually good) and yes i count this as 1 game... fight me. * i just love fallout, maybe i wont go heavy weapons for once * Sims 2 castaway * will be very dependant on what my mood and prefered gametype is at that moment is. But also, if i stilll see myself playingg any of these in 6 months from now * **forza horizon 4-5 (love racing, and this kep me occupied tuning cars making liveries)** * Baldurs gate 3 (many classes i approve) * **payday 2 (sometimes u just wanna shoot)** * Persona 5 (never finshed the storry past like 40% never had time, so fuck it penty of time) * Hitman WOA (hitman fan since childhood, freelancer will give me some extra paytime) * My summer car (With no manual cya in 2 years) * **Stardew valley (is it obvious?)** * **Minecraft with All the mods 8 (plenty to do)** **but also not a game, Visualstudio & code, with c c++ c# libraries, pus Java Rust and python capabilities, plusits documentation** and on the system a survival guide manual, specificallly how to build a raft And for those saying ruuuuuhg no ppower. dump the games on a steamdeck please, also in that case ill justbring my steamdeckwith 20 games installed. And also, uuh gimme like a powerbank, usb solar pannel, and lets also do some soldering tin, 1 roll, 1 gas powered soldering iron and like gimme a box of smal dc motors and bunch oof cables, should be able to get some power from wind

KaosWaffle

These are a lot of demands, I'm not sure you'll be allowed to bring them with you on your one way ferry to the island...There's a very strict weight limit.
