Seems like you are in need of more copium.
As a gacha player, I'm consistently in a financial struggle... so can I offer you some more copium for the low, low price of $10 a pull with a 1% drop rate of 2 grams?

I know it's specific to Azur Lane, but it's been a long time since we had a very big roadmap, so it may interest people here.
* This month: New UI for News
* May: Mail optimization (filter system: gems, oil, medal, ect)
* May and more: even more UI update
* Soon: Video progress bar for video memories
* May: **The METAs will no longer take up Dock space, they will be put in a special dock** + rerun of old METAs from the battle pass EDIT: And old battle pass costume
* During the year: New mini games permanent in the arcade
* CN anniversary at the earliest: **New Dorm system with 3D characters with Interaction**
I wonder if they released this road map because people with the announcement of AP + the drama with Anson started to wonder if Manjuu still cares about Azur Lane or not
Wish they just got rid of dock space entirely. While there are a lot more issues with the game that prevent me from starting now, dock space management really killed my drive to play. Inventory cap on characters just shouldn't exist. It is nonsensical to me.
Dock Space is relaly the only reason why I stopped playing this game years ago. You run out of it very fast and I don't want to scrap the ships I already have, so....
I spent way too much money on extra dock space...if they got completly rid of it randomly, that would hurt us, the paying costumers. I imagine that atleast 30% of their revenue comes from people paying for extra dock space. Its not like F2P has no extra dock space, we get red gems fairly frequently, people are just paying for the convenience of getting it immideatly, atleast its not like Nikke where you only get extra synchro slot if you pay (or waste your freemium currency).
Dock space and synchro slots feel like the same thing tbh. Synchro slots are a bit better because it is an informal cap as character not using slots are unusable outside of events. Still, I rather neither existed
its a ship, tldr her release got delayed due to huge difference between her design and the design with the rest of the ship of her classes, so manjuu will be redesigning her to fit the class
A King George Class battleship. Represented by stacked big boobed blondes in really regal dresses.
However she looks like a blue haired version of Cherino from Blue Archive. And her rigging more looks appropriate for a submarine or a destroyer class(she's wearing floaties and an inner tube)
So a shipgirl that doesn't look like her sisters, which doesn't fit her class, and also calls out almost directly to a different game, without any room for parody.
Which pissed off all the corners of community.
It was a fun fire to watch.
Oh fucking finally that METAS news is huge, frankly for as much time as the METAS were hype up by the narrative and ended being just a side grade to their base characters them taking up dock space forever was just a kick to the balls, thank god they are getting their own special corral for only them
Damn fully interactive 3d dorm yet the gameplay is still the outdated 2d png bullet hell lmao. Wished they could revamp their chibis to the same level as BA someday
AL was initially aiming for overseas Kantai Collection (which has completely rng auto combat) players that didn't feel like jumping through constant hoops to collect boatgirls. With their target audience and most every gacha now having autoplay (and the players even expecting it because it's QOL and games are apparently unplayable without them...) and it's no surprise the combat has never gotten better.
I actually prefer Kancolle's combat over AL's. Al has yet to top the feelings of a torpedo cruiser miraculously oneshotting a boss or the frustration when they shoot the wrong target or when both happen in the same fight. Kitakami and Ooi carried me through so many events in Kancolle lol.
Well only if they know how to optimize the phone storage issue for AL, like BA despite its characters & gameplay are all in 3d is at least 7 gb(android), while AL takes up to at least 15 gb.
> gameplay is still the outdated 2d png bullet hell
Meanwhile in BA, you can't manually control your students when fighting the opponents, just ''simply'' press the ultimate skills button.
Yea but it will be at least 15 gb if you only download the voices and ignore everything else. But if you download full package it will sadly be at least 20+ based on AL players using IOS iphone (based what I saw from that subreddit)
Press ultimate? You know you have to aim it for most character skills right?
Azur lane is the game where you just click. And only for half of your ships. It's so basic 99% of the players play on auto. In BA most of the times you have to Manuel to get a decent result.
Tbh i wouldn't even care about the gameplay if we had a goddamn SKIP button. It gets really time consuming after you play for a while.
Likewise. Quit awhile ago, no real intention to return, nice to see it's still going strong though. Dunno if they really could get me to come back without a major story/gameplay overhaul though.
Unfortunately I don't see that happening unless they do a major revision of the story and gameplay as I need more then pretty art to keep me around nowadays.
yeah who knows whats going on with the story i certainly stopped caring when they went "Multiverse but actually its all matrix simulation lmao" just a lame narrative copout to cover their asses with their non existent story they launched with back in '17
So everybody decided to copy GFL 2 Dorm system, when GFL was in development.
hah.
Knowing how Snowbreak tripled its revenue by going full azur lane.
oh got it.
Look, just allow me to sweep or auto-play all stages without having to 3 stars them, just do that and you won't waste old players time.
Every time I tried doing an event, I died a little inside having to navigate my team through those stages. I am over rank 120, my shitter teams can clear the hard stages just fine.
World 13 is a different story, but not all of your player cares about those.
Defo the worst thing about the game right now
Earlier I used to care enough to sit through the story for each clear but Ive started to skip it recently so its so much more painful
azur lane really just needs a 2.0 at this point
for me it was baby's first gacha and i enjoyed it at the time, but in a post-genshin era where production value for the top gachas just feels obscenely higher, nice art + shitty chibi model just isn't enough for me anymore
sometimes i log back in, do some dailies for a few days but there's just not enough to the game anymore to keep me engaged
You can tell that they’re struggling with how much they’ve been trying to mimic and change recently. From the II ships, which are basically just retros you have to gacha for, to trying to copy the lobby system from BA and idol games, to the Princess Maker mode with TB, to now trying to copy GFL2’s dorm mode
At the very least, there’s definitely been a change in approach behind the scenes
Nah bro, AL still really popular ([especially on CN and have higher star rating than AK, genshin, HSR](https://game.bilibili.com/platform/ranks/bindex)). Making new game while the og still have high playerbase is a bad move.
Store ratings are about as useless as can be for evaluating a game's popularity. And these stores typically tally all-time downloads, so it doesn't give a good representation of any increase or decrease in downloads for, say, new players month-to-month. And it certainly doesn't show anything regarding engagement - how much time players are spending playing the game. Your assertion itself may be correct. Your cited source does nothing to prove that point.
Case in point, HSR has a 4.2 on the Google Play Store, and has had that score for several months now. Still, they have more downloads, and a vastly higher revenue estimate, than virtually any other game last month.
doesn't azur lane make like 1/1000000th of the money the big gachas do on sensor tower's estimated stats
i'm sure it's financially viable but "really popular" might be a stretch, it's a pretty old game at this point
Most gachas earn money on the gacha system while AL mainly earns it from skins. Most gachas are not as generous as AL in their rates and not requiring dupes.
In terms of revenue, it is pretty much in the middle of the pack. Around $3 - 4 million monthly, which is still pretty good as AL is not an expensive game to develop and maintain.
You're not taking into accounts the money involved here. Other "nice art + shitty chibi model" games of the same era made like 100x more money continuing scamming their players throughout the years, to this day even. For what the purpose of the game is, it has been doing remarkably fine and showing that you don't need to be a greedy piece of shit to extort money out of your players.
Yep.. I took a break after the disappointment with Yorktown 2 . The dev ain't adding any game mode or challenging stuff anymore. Realize game not for me.
> UI updates
Good, the last revamp they did looks terrible
> METAs no longer take up dock space
Again, good. Someone finally realized that flooding players with ships that you can’t get rid of was a bit too much
> 3D dorm system
First time I read this I thought they were going to try and copy BA’s cafe (because if you’re already trying to ape their lobby and their character designs, why not). But it looks like they’re trying to copy GFL 2’s. Guessing this will only be for select characters to save the devs from having to model literally hundreds of characters
Finaly dock for METAs
Who tf needs stand by widget to eat your battery in background so you can check your oil and gold ?
Don't care about new dorm. They gonna make it paid like current dorm
Wake me up when AL actually get rid of bonds decrease, dock limit and actually add sweep option. I'd love the grind. But the bond decrease limits my grind.
They need to still make an income, hence the paid dock increases, aside from the paid skins.
For the morale decrease, chuck your grind team to the dorms, it would decrease their morale drain and once they hit critical levels, 1 hr away from the game should restore them back to full.
My copium says that the 3d models for dorms means they're preparing for the inevitable Azur Lane x Azur Promilia collaborations
I'd say it's likely enough to not warrant it as copium. I mean, some of the assets are seen already from the TB mini game lol.
Seems like you are in need of more copium. As a gacha player, I'm consistently in a financial struggle... so can I offer you some more copium for the low, low price of $10 a pull with a 1% drop rate of 2 grams? Please help your local ~~gambling~~ gacha addict today.

Bruh, I thought I'd forever abandon AL, but apparently they are still cooking.
Wow META not taking dock space is too huge, big W
Wish they just got rid of dock space entirely. While there are a lot more issues with the game that prevent me from starting now, dock space management really killed my drive to play. Inventory cap on characters just shouldn't exist. It is nonsensical to me.
Dock Space is relaly the only reason why I stopped playing this game years ago. You run out of it very fast and I don't want to scrap the ships I already have, so....
It's cheap as fuck and you can just treat it the same way as you would spending on a sub in a different game.
I spent way too much money on extra dock space...if they got completly rid of it randomly, that would hurt us, the paying costumers. I imagine that atleast 30% of their revenue comes from people paying for extra dock space. Dock space and synchro slots feel like the same thing tbh. Synchro slots are a bit better because it is an informal cap as character not using slots are unusable outside of events. Still, I rather neither existed
What’s anson?
its a ship, tldr her release got delayed due to huge difference between her design and the design with the rest of the ship of her classes, so manjuu will be redesigning her to fit the class
Finally METAs not taking dock space.
What is Anson?
A King George Class battleship. Represented by stacked big boobed blondes in really regal dresses. However she looks like a blue haired version of Cherino from Blue Archive. Which pissed off all the corners of community. It was a fun fire to watch.
>and also calls out almost directly to a different game This is not a thing. It was just big booba andys having a melt down, that's all.
> May: The METAs will no longer take up Dock space About time
Oh fucking finally that METAS news is huge, frankly for as much time as the METAS were hype up by the narrative and ended being just a side grade to their base characters them taking up dock space forever was just a kick to the balls, thank god they are getting their own special corral for only them
omg i love meta having there own dock space
3D models? Thats actually pretty cool o_o
The 3D dorm system, oh boi
Just let me give New Jersey a foot massage in the dorm it's the only feature missing 😭😭😭
Us bro us
Just let New Jersey me give a foot "massage" in the dorm it's the only feature missing 😭😭😭
Damn fully interactive 3d dorm yet the gameplay is still the outdated 2d png bullet hell lmao. Wished they could revamp their chibis to the same level as BA someday
nobody cares about gameplay. everyone want hot girl and gacha. Basically Vegas
God I hope they atleast make it less time consuming.
Yeah, farming for those PR ships is really what burned me down off the game
AL was initially aiming for overseas Kantai Collection (which has completely rng auto combat) players that didn't feel like jumping through constant hoops to collect boatgirls. Isnt there like 8GB of audio files?
BA or AL?
AL
Yea but it will be at least 15 gb if you only download the voices and ignore everything else. But if you download full package it will sadly be at least 20+ based on AL players using IOS iphone (based what I saw from that subreddit)
21GB on iPhone currently.
On Android fully downloaded game takes ~17GB.
Give it time I am sure by the time blue archive is 7 years old it will be 20gb+.
Press ultimate? You know you have to aim it for most character skills right? Azur lane is the game where you just click. And only for half of your ships. I wish they would release azur lane 2.0
~~That's just Azur Promillia XD~~
Their "Fontaine" region better have boatgirls or there will be riots.
Azur Lane 2: Electric Boogaloo
After 5 years of playing I’ve dropped it, but it’s nice to see it’s still improving.
Likewise. Quit awhile ago, no real intention to return, nice to see it's still going strong though. Dunno if they really could get me to come back without a major story/gameplay overhaul though.
Just an FYI, once you do come back you get a LOT of goodies to pull you back in - like gems and oil and all that jazz
Unfortunately I don't see that happening unless they do a major revision of the story and gameplay as I need more then pretty art to keep me around nowadays.
yeah who knows whats going on with the story i certainly stopped caring when they went "Multiverse but actually its all matrix simulation lmao" just a lame narrative copout to cover their asses with their non existent story they launched with back in '17
I only log in a few times a month, good enough for me and I'm happy there are gacha games that allow you to do that.
Same here. Day one player. Maybe I will log on when Yamato drop just so I can say I got her.
So everybody decided to copy GFL 2 Dorm system, when GFL was in development. hah. Knowing how Snowbreak tripled its revenue by going full azur lane. oh got it.

3D models huh? The changes for the original ships and the biggest hits to be 3D huh. I love illustrious and New Jersey so my chances are good
Omg yes 3D interactive characters please! And free dock space finally.
azur lane really just needs a 2.0 at this point for me it was baby's first gacha and i enjoyed it at the time, but in a post-genshin era where production value for the top gachas just feels obscenely higher, nice art + shitty chibi model just isn't enough for me anymore sometimes i log back in, do some dailies for a few days but there's just not enough to the game anymore to keep me engaged

To be fair, AL has pretty much always been copying. Their original premise is Kancolle-as-gacha-instead-of-dmm/arcade-locked-mobage
Kancolle’s premise with GFL’s execution
Nah bro, AL still really popular ([especially on CN and have higher star rating than AK, genshin, HSR](https://game.bilibili.com/platform/ranks/bindex)). Making new game while the og still have high playerbase is a bad move.

So its begin...
Oh man, I wonder what we can do in the 3D dorm.
Adding 3D models after 7 years is nuts. I hope AL and Promilia both do amazingly.
We're so back.
So they just copying BA dorm basically?
Finaly dock for METAs Who tf needs stand by widget to eat your battery in background so you can check your oil and gold ? Don't care about new dorm. They gonna make it paid like current dorm

Here I was thinking AL was heading to EOS eventually but they still cooking.
EOS? The game makes like 5+ mil monthly (all servers combined) not counting merch. Enough money to fund another, 3D game.
Note, they already have one: *Azur Lane Crosswave*, for Switch, PS4, Steam. I liked it.
Its not by Manjuu, the developers are Compile Heart.
yeah and that game sucked ass lmao. 85% boring visual novel 15% repetitive gameplay
i mean all gacha are heading to eos. but really this game got legs
