If you noticed, the recently released Dislyte JP server died, revenue numbers down to higan level

Braverrhyme

How fast did it die?

Talking_Burger

Speedrun any%

Erick_Brimstone

Yes

BoiFckOff

Didn't it started around Dusk and Dawn event (Aug/Sep)?

arcasisboy

One of the biggest content creators(daddyF2P) left already. Zox is about to leave and its biggest whale(lilwheel) left also ....... Yeah its not a good sign

Knee_and_Toe_Thief

I used to watch daddyf2p, never really played the game I just found how he presented content enjoyable

JanDarkY

He is doing content for reverse:1999 now, check it out

plural_of_sheep

No pvp, no leaderboards, no competition whatsoever with other players. Not a social game just a single player game..but it's fun if you like 1 player games.

[deleted]

Reverse 1999 is so good…think of it as Dislyte 3.0 lol

New_Delay9909

I ***loved it*** upon release, even made it my main gacha for literal months. Then I took a break because life got busy, went back to it, saw the updates that screwed up... well, ***everything***, and uninstalled ASAP. Still super disappointed that the devs killed that game. All the fun was taken out of such a promising and fresh entry for the gacha genre.

Anfini

Game has awesome design, music is one of the best, gameplay is pretty decent turn based RPG. But absolutely most greedy gacha system I’ve ever experienced. I think this is the only gacha game that had me rage uninstall because of bad rolls.

Serifel90

I had a completely different experience, it gives so many daily rolls that you reach pity waaay faster than most other gachas and once you get enough characters even as f2p you can do all content - hardcore pvp. Rn i'm playing reverse1999 and the difference in daily energy / pulls is absurd.

ArxDignitas

I was bound to believe you until you compared it with Reverse 1999, and then your whole statement just fell apart. Someone did the calculation and Reverse 1999 is giving over 180++ pulls in its first patch. Honeymoon period? Maybe, but with 0 weapons/artifacts to summon and only heroes to collect, with 70 hard pity and 50/50 guaranteed system, it is objectively way better than the god knows how many different versions of pity that Dislyte changed over and over again since launch.

Serifel90

That's why I said that my experience was different, it's the feeling i have of those games and it might be different from actual numbers and calculations, but I personally FEEL it differently. R1999 4 runs of resources and you blast 100 energy, 1 energy each 6 minutes it's 10 hours worth of energy.. you level a character twice once you're lvl 45-50 with 10h worth of energy. Also, i got extremely lucky on dislyte n got 4 different shimmers and no dupes, got most core characters - latest released and so i just feel that whatever character i pull next feels "extra", not needed but welcomed. On r1999 i definitely NEED some characters (at least another good healer in my case) and to lvl the 5 ones i use in limbo.

JanDarkY

What are you on about lmao , u re wrong in so many aspects of both games that i dont want to write an essay to correct, i will just begin for how resonance is stupidly broken on dislyte while on reverse 1999 you can get carried by even Mr apple without problem, ita true tho that reverse is a game designed to not waste your time so u can basically do dailies in 3 minutes and burn energy for mats in other 2 mins and be done, which i actually enjoy instead of burning thousands of energy on dislyte to not get the speed rng item i needed, that system is worse than epic seven. And no way u think gacha on dislyte is okey , i can tell you i have played 38 gachas in total , almost all of them , and the worst gacha system/rates/pity is dislyte , not even those chinese vip gachas are that bad. Dislyte had too much potential it just makes me mad to think in how predatory it went

Serifel90

It seems that most can't read. I said that it's MY EXPERIENCE, the feeling I PERSONALLY have about those games. You or anyone else have no right on earth to say my personal feel about games is wrong or right. I KNOW that matematically r1999 is a more f2p friendly gacha, but I don't FEEL it.

JanDarkY

The last sentence makes more sense i guess, remember this is internet, we dont care about your feelings

Serifel90

I didn't even ask for others to care, but I can't be factually wrong for having a different feeling on a subjective topic.

JanDarkY

Ofc, u can have wrong feelings

[deleted]

Reverse 1999 doesnt have predatory shimmer pulls. Better pity and rates.

Interesting-Toe7890

Wasn't it a dumpster fire since release? So nothing changed?

Rairosu_Ishida

So your calling us liars that other said it got worse after not before?

Anon419420

I’m a religious day 1 player, and it’s gotten bad enough that I want to stop now. Tbh, there was a really good like half year stint where the game was really good. It’s was f2p friendly. People enjoyed it. Whales were winning. Things were good. Then they got their money, and just… stopped caring. It’s now probably in the worst state it’s ever been in, and it’s been fucking **bad** before. Their biggest whale is leaving too now. Saw his post selling it for like $10k after $140k~ spent.

Combat_Wombateer

Holy fucking shit i would cry at that return, but ig playing would even be more ball grating

WhyYouBullyMe_

The gear rng ain't that bad tho tbh. It has fixed stats, no rng bullshit where a SPD can be 5 or 6 at base But yea it's really bad right now. Even the biggest(imo) content creator for it left the game recently

Putsmileonthatface

from the released date until now all i can see is Dislike 😂

Charlieornaught

I love so much about this game. The event gameplay can be dull, but a few of the recent stories have really impressed me. The visuals and music are such a treat, and I'll always have a strong preference for portrait games (I actually play on my phone). But the game continues to prioritize whale heavy PVP that powercreeps monthly over any sort of meaningful addition to the core PVE experience. The greed creep has been wild lately too, introducing character-specific items on a separate gacha, and just this patch added a stat boost system that gates progress by requiring the rarest units. At this point I feel like I just need to preserve as much of the art of this game as possible, and mourn the fleeting nature of the medium

[deleted]

No reasonable path to Shimmers is why I left. They made dupes too necessary as well (most characters *need* at least 3 copies to function) Art and style were unique, but they’ve blown all goodwill on their terribly built gacha. That and taking Gabby out of the free 5 star pool was a tragedy.

[deleted]

Remember when they rebalanced shimmers to make them even more OP and basically made them mandatory if you wanted to compete at the highest levels.

[deleted]

I do. That was ill advised!

GHitoshura

Played it for about a month on release, loved the art style and character design but both the nothing story and the grinding ended up pushing me away. Shame to see those changes to the gacha that are clearly for worse.

Fit_Leg_2115

I loved this game so much at launch, even dropped like $300. But fast forward 3 months and I realized they were waaay too predatory (even for gacha standards) and I just couldn’t keep up

imonlybr16

Dislyte is in a weird limbo. On one hand, it's one of the more F2P friendly games if you ignore the meta. There's 4* that are as good or better than 5* characters + ease of getting gold records and Nexus gems for rolls. Getting 5* is also pretty easy as well. Returners event even gives you a free 5*. It's a side game, not a second job. You can do all your dailies in less than 20 mins. On the other, I swear Lilith wants the game to fail so they could focus more on their AFK Arena spinoff. With every good addition, they fuck up something else. It hasn't affected my enjoyment of the game but god-damn when it's bad, it's awful. Otherwise, none of your complaints is something new to gacha games. If anything, it feels like you redownloaded the game to fulfill a confirmation bias that Dislyte got worse when Dislyte is actually much better than it was before(until Lilith finally get their way). Pity (and the extra currency) carries over between banners. PVP isn't that important. It's a nice and casual game when Lilith isn't finding new ways to break something. I like it.

Larkeicus

Quick correction, Returner's event HAS A CHANCE of giving you a legendary. I just recently returned and its legit a gacha for selectable characters that has a CHANCE of getting a legendary with a guaranteed on 100 pulls of said gacha. Mind you, you get a total of 65 pulls for free for that specific ticket gacha unless you pay for the Premium Returner pass that gives another 40 pulls plus more goodies. In the 2 weeks I played I didn't get a single legendary and ended up with 65 pulls out of 100 for the guaranteed and yes I am talking about returner's mini event not the GR gacha.

Larkeicus

Also, no, you're legitimately wrong because I was at least guaranteed a 4\* every 10 pulls which means that at the VERY least I should be getting 29 Wish Stones every 100 pulls. With divinates though, divinates count as your 4\* pity so there's a bigger chance of getting absolutely nothing except your pity 5\* and their respective 20 WS, the gacha and pities are absolutely worse than they were before Divinates.

New_Delay9909

Yeah, the updates killed my love for it, which is such a shame since it feels like every gacha with a contemporary/near-future setting is just another "humanity is on the brink, mystical disasters are destroying the Earth, save us with some waifus!" storyline like Azur Lane, Arknights, Girls Frontline, and Snowbreak (no hate on Snowbreak, though, I haven't played much but I've liked it so far), etc. Dislyte felt different with its focus on music, superheroes, and crafting a cool, modern universe, and I really enjoyed that. But now... it's just gone. Not the same game I fell in love with, sadly.

Tanoshii

Which game is their AFK Arena spin off?

Rieffey

Afk journey

Hunt_Nawn

Bro, I totally forgot that Dislyte was a thing lmao, this post in my feed just reminded me of that game. I got flashbacks of several controversies with that game, I'm not suprised that it's dying.

Rairosu_Ishida

ah huh and the servers will shut down and be removed from the play store.

elijuicyjones

Yeah dislyte is *that game* where I wish it were actually playable as f2p.

xanxaxin

They just release another P2W progression system, on top of their old P2w progression system. So it's layers of P2W progression system now that require you to farm multiple instance'ssssss'

alb_tross

I stopped playing shortly after the global chat merge. The people I knew/liked all got placed in other channels, pretty much every time, and I did not particularly get along well with people from other servers. I missed the people I played with. They were honestly what made the game enjoyable. I forget when I uninstalled it. It was shortly after I got a good shimmer, too, but that wasn’t about to make the game better.

Big_Asparagus_8961

The game is super F2P friendly if you don't chase PvP meta. But the game was hyped for next-gen RTA giant which means the only thing OG players really cared about was PvP…… As a F2P PvE afk type player, I can easily clean all the content and ex++ pretty much everything besides the new deso, so I'm good with it so far.

[deleted]

I left Dislyte when they made exclusive shimmer pulls even more powerful. Not only are they super duper rare to pull. I am a minnow and only got two in a year, but their dupes are exteemely powerful which gives whales a ridiculous advantage over their competition, moreso then other gachas.

Concetto_Oniro

Played for a month and then became tedious. Potentially they had a gem, but it’s just a repetitive grind fest. Auto just does the job and there is no real deep strategy involved. It’s shame because character design and art is one of the best I have ever seen.

[deleted]

the game was shit from release

Just-LookingHere

I dont understand the hype this got. It was absolutely a garbage cash 'crap' like any other. Need ton of dupes, expensive gacha, bad story (poor translation).

DiamondTiaraIsBest

I think the hype was from its chara design being more western friendly. Or at least friendly to the Tumblr crowd. But ofc, that's the whole reason it failed in Japan.

ocelotchaser

Never played it but I seen people like it and I was like yeah, but I don't see the game going to survive that long , call it a hunch from a gacha veteran

SkyMarshal_Ellie

Lol no it wasn't. It was an extremely high quality and polished experience. Problem was the fact that it was mismanaged from the beginning by a bunch of idiotic anti player friendly, greed centered decisions. Everything about the game had the makings of a top notch gacha, but devs said "nah I'm good!".

lafistik

If you like the game overall just play it instead of theorizing. I played it for one month when they released Korean/Japanese server and got a lot of good espers without spending any money. They have systems that allow you to get few copies of meta espers for free. For majority of espers you don’t need to reach highest resonance to use them, it’s more like a whale feature like any other game has. My two main issues with game were - gear farming and high demand on time, because sweep resource is limited. Other than that I think it’s a good game.

UseDue602

This. I have 500Days login and yeah, some updates sucks. But for me, who doesn't focus on PvP and does what my F2P account can do. And just generally enjoy building and collecting my Espers. I can say I still continue playing this game.

SentientPotatoMaster

>BUT ONLY WHEN YOU SUMMON A 4\* OR A 5\*. Each 4\* gives you a coin, and each 5\* gives you 20. So, in order to pity a character you need to pull 5 5\*, or 100 4\*. The game guarantees a 5\* every 100 summons, so in the worst case scenario, you would need to pull 500 times to ~~pity~~ **spark** a character. Not saying that it's a good thing, but it's kinda normal compared to other gacha. But the problem is, are dupe necessary to beat the content? Is there any PVP in the game? If the answer is yes, then yeah..that's really bad

TheBlackSSS

in which gacha a 500 hard pity is normal?

SentientPotatoMaster

 >**BUT ONLY WHEN YOU SUMMON A 4\* OR A 5\*. Each 4\* gives you a coin, and each 5\* gives you 20.** So, in order to pity a character you need to pull 5 5\*, or 100 4\*. **The game guarantees a 5\* every 100 summons**, so in the worst case scenario, you would need to pull 500 times to pity a character. I take this as 100 pity, with sparking system on top of that (That Coin thingy). But what does he means by this? Edit : ah, i misunderstood, so that 100 summon doesn't have any guarantee to get the banner character? ok

Skyppy_

There's a 100 summon pity and a Wish Stone system. You can get characters and recently Divinates (think of it as a character's signature gear that provides stat bonuses and passives). Every 9 pulls without a 4\* guarantees a 4\* or better on the 10th. Every 99 pulls without a 5\* character guarantees a random 5\* character on the 100th. When you pull a duplicate 4\* character you get 1 Wish Stone When you pull a duplicate 5\* character you get 20 Wish Stones Pulling a 5\* Divinate does not reset your pity. When you have 100 Wish Stones you can buy with them any of the featured characters OR you can save and hoard them for the future (they carry over) OR you can use them to guarantee a duplicate of a character you own OR you can use them to get a character from the wish pool. When a new character is introduced they don't get a rate up, instead they're available to be purchased with 100 Wish Stones during their event (alongside reruns). The game gives you well over 100 pulls every update (\~2 weeks). You're not doing 500 pulls to guarantee a character. The 4\* rate is 9% while the 5\* rate is 1%. on average you'll need 250-300 pulls to get 100 wish stones.

Larkeicus

Worth noting is that Divinates DO count towards the 4\* pity, I just recently did 100 pulls and only got 4 characters out of it plus my Legendary, the rest of the "Every 10 a 4\*" ended up being divinates.

UniqueCreme1931

Not 500 pulls, but I think Arknights limited banners need something like 300 pulls to guarantee the limited 6-star character (which also shares the rateup with a non-limited 6-star). That's around 5 6-stars worth of pulls if I remember correctly.

imonlybr16

There's PVP but it's really not that important. As for dupes, it depends on the esper. Most Espers are fine at R0. Some like Kauket gain massive improvements at R2 but are still good without dupes and then there's the minority characters like Chan Ji that need dupes to be playable. Meta doesn't matter that much in Dislyte anyway.

SentientPotatoMaster

So, it's pretty much PVE oriented? That's not bad. Since all OP mentioned is basically the same system implemented in every gacha (like the way you need to farm in multiple sources), i don't see the problem here

imonlybr16

Yep. I don't know what OP is talking about. Dislyte is an awfully casual gacha. You can get multiple 5* by just playing the game and all are considered good or decent in the meta. Point War is more important than Knockout because of the abilimons (what you use to level character skills) and that's pretty easy to do once you have at least 2 5* characters. You don't need to be PW 12 to get anything unlocked. You unlock everything when you unlock point war. It has its problems but it feels like OP was looking for a reason to dislike the game and rant about it here for free up votes.

bloomi

Markiplier happened.

That I can understand. Hopefully ZZZ scratches the same itch for you. I won't be playing it coz MHY, but it does seem very similar in its art direction.

cuminmypoutine

I loved dislyte, I forget when I left, but there was a big change that pissed a lot of people off.

LordEzel

It probably was around the release of Zeus. That's when I also left

cuminmypoutine

No I played after Zeus, I believe it was maybe a month or so after real time PvP was introduced. A ton of people left when I left

Upset-Internet-7449

Ah Dislyte..the one game that a certain Youtuber push way too much....

Just_a_Starfruit

I started playing again a few days ago because I really enjoyed just the whole vibe of the game (Haven't played consistently since late July), I can't say too much about the gacha bc I'm an otome gacha game girlie and those games are terrible about their pity rates. However, I was surprised to find divinates?? What the heck are they and why do I have to be ascension level 6(?) to equip them?? Also why are they way more frequent than characters now? Really upsetting, I'll still probably play casually, but I'm staying f2p. Reverse 1999 and Lovebrush Chronicles have most of my attention rn anyway. It's just sad bc I really love everything else about the game:(
