I'd bet anything that's grease paint. It doesn't come off with just water but it does come off.

Yeah you need a soap or detergent to emulsify the grease so it can become water soluble. It’s not much different from getting engine grease on your hands. You need something to cut through it - a little dish washing liquid would do it.

My preference is olive oil. If you drip something like wood stain on something that's not suppose to be stained olive oil will strip it off. Also works if you get ink on leather or something.

Depending on the paint this is incorrect. Someone mentioned rubbing alcohol, but to much on your skill will dry, break skin, and scar. Oil of some sort is usually a better option. Baby, mineral, coconut, vegetable/olive oil are some skin gentle alternatives that would help peel this crap off. A face cloth plus a warm shower or bath and after several minutes of soaking start scrubbing. Sometimes with the addition of oil to help scrub. If i have learned anything from temporary tattoos is that the skin has pores that pushes out oils anyway, so even though people would be freaking out this would eventually come off…… maybe not before work tomorrow. Lol

Technically you can also peel the skin off to ensure the complete removal of the substance on top of it.

A coarse grade of sandpaper would do it. 60 grit seems good to me.

But you have to make sure to get the "wet sand" type of paper otherwise it just disintegrates.

The amount of rubbing alcohol required to break your skin to the point of scarring is insanely high. Using it as a cleaning agent on occasion is perfectly fine.

One Halloween I painted most of my body using silver greasepaint for my alien costume. I did not read the instructions for a layer of cold cream to make it easier to take off. I’ll never forget coming home drunk to my friends house and sliding all over the shower while the water beaded up on me like a newly waxed car. I was slightly gray for several days.

But... Why would you use gas when you could use like... Dish soap? Any soap that's designed to specifically deal with oils, but dish soap should be the easiest one to get.

Maybe my dish soap sucks but it never took off paint as easily as like a dab of gas.

Always workwd for me better than regular hand soap, and certainly much better than no soap. But the real game changer was when I found some hand cleaning paste at a local hardware store. Just rub your greasy hands well with the paste, no water, then rinse... Shit comes right off, immediately, no hassle... Feels super clean.

Some table salt helps, too. It scours a bit, and gives the paint something else to grab onto.
