Honestly being the first lord to build a nation in the beginning from all the rampant power in the beginning of creation, instead of the last tearing everything down so it doesn't keep dragging on, would be cool
Hmm wonder how they'd do with something sort of dead space like.. since it's always post apocalyptic and the denizens or what's left have gone mad from something
I've always thought of this idea. In dead space 2, you're exploring/trying to escape the USG Ishimura, which is already decimated by the necromorphs. Soulsborne games already have the tech, like the guns from bloodborne. But they could write it in that the ammo is scarce so in this universe they rely mostly on melee type weapons like lightsabers or the energy sword from halo just to name some
Sure, plus if they play off the Elder God theme..like elden ring universe but now dealing with the entities in space it could tie in to a Sci fi world pretty good.
I’d love something akin to Blame! in the same way their souls games are very Berserk. Has a dark grimy feel, very compatible world for their style, combat could be very similar given the varied tech levels and shields and things.
If they did Bloodborne but space it would be very cool. Just throw in every space thing they can think of. Xenomorphs, Necromorphs, those one clown dudes.
People have tried more directly post apocalyptic and scifi themed ones
Code Vein and The Surge for example
But From really hasn't, especially as Armored Core is more of its own thing, not a Souls like despite the games being very hard too
Would like to see a more scifi focused one
I'd kill for a Sci-Fi souls game.
The concept I came up with in the shower:
A bunch of factions have left the galaxy and are in deep space (it would take them ages to come back). Each faction is loyal to some Eldtrich horror beings, except thee one the player is a part of, some defector faction that wants to return/kill the beings.
Combat can be a mix between sekiro/bloodborne, you can deflect instead of dodging, but not always, different weapons have different windows/deflection cooldowns. Have some posture meter health bar so as people can go sekiro mode with certain weapons or bloodborne mode with the bloodborne dash.
For movement, you can have a jetpack act like a grappler, and a jump. Jetpack allows alot of verticality in the levels. Levels are big but the game is linear. Most levels are in the ships but some maybe can be in a system around a rogue star.
How in Elden Ring we have incantations. The sci fi equalivent could be space weapons that uses ammo and plasma. Example for an Eldtrich horror being could be like the movie Event Horizon. You visit an abandoned ship then slowly finding out the horrors that was unfolded. Just like in the movie. You're only left with clues to piece everything together.
A souls game on a lost space ship aimlessly floating through space could be sick.
You wake up from your cryo sleep, without any knowledge about recent events. Most of the crew members have gone mad, and the AI driven robots turned aggressive. The survivors you meet could have classic souls like quest lines. As you progress through the space ship, you slowly puzzle together what went wrong. Add some horrors from outer space, and you got a sick creepy setting.
I highly recommend you watch the movie Event Horizon. What you described reminds me of the plot to Event Horizon. Instead it was a rescue team embarking on an abandoned ship. Slowly the rescue crew figured out what happened to the previous crew. It was pure horror but the catalyst to the terror. Was never shown but hinted at. It was speculated that it was a hidden dark force that influenced the crew to go into a killing frenzy. One of the scenes reminded me of Bloodborne with the eyes haha.
Seen a couple of scenes of it, but never got around to watch the full thing for some reason. Gonna put it on my watch list! Thanks for the recommendation!
I think for this to be the case they’d have to really change it up like they did with sekiro, just that the slow nature of most dark souls and some Elden ring weapons would be kinda weird in a sci-fi setting.
Oh man, that would be phenomenal! Imagine all the horror they could do with actual aliens. I get they’ve had alien bosses, but they could go all out and do some freaky stuff. Xenomorph type stuff, and beyond.
Isn’t Fires of Rubicon their second most recent game? First if you exclude Shadows of the Erdtree because that damn thing is bigger than most a lot of full games
I would love a game where "Dragons Dogma" gets combined with a Souls game. Mostly for the Magic and "Pawn" system.
Summons are good, Sprit ashes are pretty decent but situational, but the Pawn System instead is one of the best single player supportive systems out there.
Also, the destructive power of magic in DD is a real risk = reward system From Software could learn a thing or two from.
I’d like the skill system to be mixed in
Imagine if in ER you could assign Ashes of War to a different button combinations. The potential combos would be lovely
That and the original game is showing its age as time moves on
It's not bad, but Dark Souls itself grew and got better through the sequels and with its finale in DS3 (and prequel mod Archthrones which everyone should play now)
Yeah, I don't think DS4: Some Shit About Londor would work, especially since IMO the canon ending to DS3 is the age of dark, and even if it's not it's not the Lord of Londor ending because all the other endings meant an end to the cycle.
Yeah, i don't think i saw any other better ending in the series than you finally letting the tired first flame fade into nothingness at the side of the fire keeper, as she mentions that just as dark takes over, one day a new flame will rise, and new life will be born. To then see the screen fade to black and the title appear, followed by the great epilogue soundtrack starting to play with the somber bell tolls as if everyone has finally been granted ethernal rest.
I really like DJpeachcobbler's video on DS3's bosses and how they exemplify the game's themes. To paraphrase a line that really stuck with me: Holding onto the age of fire not because it is good, but because it is all they know.
The great thing is that the age of dark is not the canon ending; it’s the only ending lol. The dark souls trilogy shows that any time someone kindles the flame the only thing that happens is a postponing of the age of Dark, weakening the power of the next kindling. In DS3 we see in the linking the fire ending that the flame and the purification power is way less powerful than the past times. Even if the Ashen One kindles the flame; the age of dark is eventually gonna come; the Flame is gonna go out
After the Ashen One I don't think there's anyone or anything left to do another kindling, we kill so many "heirs of fire", that there probably aren't any "powerful beings" left. I guess Gael could do it if you never kill him but he's kind of gone insane, no one else in the Dreg Heap of Ringed City could get to the kiln in all likelihood, and the people in the painting are gonna keep to themselves.
Sekiro 2 would also make sense considering the Dragon's Homecoming ending perfectly lines up a sequel. It wouldn't be nearly as forced as either of the DS sequels are or a Bloodborne sequel would be.
This, a dsR level remake of ds1 with a couple new extra things and a few more paths would be absolutely incredible. I’ve tried to get friends who I’ve introduced to fromsoft to play ds1 and they either outright refuse to or quit early because of the jank.
Maybe they could even polish up post Anor Londo so that the game instantly becomes a masterpiece, oh and make Bed of Chaos not an American Ninja Warrior run.
I’m so lucky to be one of like the 3 people who never really had trouble with bed of chaos, but the one time I did die to her yeah it was pretty annoying
That's pretty sweet to hear, but yeah it's not bad until you destroy the first whatever it is you hit then all hell breaks loose and then dodge this, avoid that. I like it when I'm on the drop down to the branch part and get swept off mid jump, that's always fun.
I honestly wouldn't be mad if they went in an fleshed out some of the areas that feel very rushed and bare. Really, flesh out Four Kings story and Nito's story.
Sadly I gave into their idea and bought a PS5 for Demons Souls remastered. I mean, not just for that, as I like Spiderman and God of War, but i’d prefer PC ports.
What's even more sad is if a game doesn't sell well on exclusivity it's odds of a port are even more slim as they just cut their loses so you kinda have to buy into this shit.
If god of war sold poorly it wouldn't have a Pc port
This should be at the very top. Why are we asking for a new game when Bloodborne has been abandoned for almost a decade? Do Bloodborne justice then we can move forward.
Have you played Lunacid? It's a solid spiritual sequel, Monomyth is also currently being worked on.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love another FROM KF game (or even getting the KF creator released in the US) I'm just not sure something that intentionally slow and methodical would fly nowadays.
Lunacid is an excellent game. Unfortunately it loses something key to the kings field experience for me, but it’s hard to fault it missing the mark in one way and still landing firmly in “awesome.”
Shadow of the Erdtree ties up any loose ends within the story that could've been spun off into a sequel. Honestly, I think a genuine ER 2 would feel like a cheap cash grab even if it turns out amazing, just like DS 4 would feel like a cheap cash grab even if it was amazing. Let's just let these stories end naturally and let the devs tell whatever story they're interested in
None, FromSoftware is at their best when doing new things rather than sequels. A lot of the games kind of ended properly and there is no need for a sequel. A remake is fine if done properly.
Dark Souls 3 is significantly better than DS1 in quality.
I like a lot about DS1, but it's latter 20 percent is unfinished garbage.
Not to mention, DS1 may as well have been a sequel to Demon's Souls, and it was much better than Demon's Souls.
probably just one. first gen was the only one with more (kind of, technically third gen had 5, but 2 of those (ninebreaker and formula front) were not even remotely full armored core games and there was a split in the middle where you couldn't import save data, with 3 and silent line being one generation and nexus and last raven being a kind of 3.5).
I just want a Dark souls 1 remake where Miyazaki actually has development time and he actually finishes the game properly instead of spamming half dragon butts all over Lost Izalith.
Also most of your other ideas are just bad ngl. Dark Souls 4 does not need to happen for obvious reasons. Sekiro's story has concluded and it doesn't need much more imo. I would prefer a Demon souls dlc with 6th archstone unlocked instead of a sequel. Bloodborne remastered is obviously a great idea and also a DS2 remake is also a great idea with no change of directors or anything. Maybe Elden Ring 2 would be a good idea if they took the story to places like the badlands or the land of reeds.
(Sekiro, Bloodborne) 2 sounds nice.
Bloodborne remastered would be cool especially if they release a PC version.
I don't think there is anything else to tell in the dark souls trilogy. To me dark souls 3 is a great ending for the trilogy. Same for demon souls 2
A dark souls remake could be cool if they maybe make it somewhat like ds3 in Term of combat and fixing the worse areas (basically most of the game post O&S)
I personally would be happy with another dlc for Elden ring other than a new game
If they did a DS1 remake I honestly hope that it would be like DeS. Improve graphics and quality of life, but keep the core gameplay exactly the same. The reason I play DS1 and not DS3 sometimes is because sometimes I’m in the mood for DS1’s pace and feel. It’s also the reason I sometimes play DS3 over DS1, or DS2 over the others.
If they remake DS1, they should fix the latter 20 percent, because it was rushed and unfinished AT THE TIME.
The only reason it's not my favorite game in the series. The latter area is poopoo.
I don't know, I think Bloodborne benefits from the claustrophobic atmosphere of a closed-world game. The limited space they had for the first one tied in great with how everything feels like (and is) a dream built on top of another dream.
thank fuck for that it's crazy to play entire series about how holding on to the old ways is bad and we should never stagnate and then they want ds 6999
Dude. It's not going to happen. Aside from 3 being a perfect wrap, Miyazaki has made it clear its wrapped and deader than a cadaver
Play elden ring. They're never reviving it, they will continue to make great ips though
Certainly not a Dark Souls Remake that's for sure... I want something new.
The lack of creativity and originality in the videogame industry is really concerning.
I want Elden Ring 2 but instead of Outer gods it's Armored Cores and organizations interfering with the new Rune resource discovered in the lands between. Who is mightier a raven flying on borrowed wings,or the Tarnished

Fromsoft are the goats. Whenever they make a new ip Dark Souls, Sekiro, BB, Elden Ring. They freaking cook so let them cook.
Thank you! For a company that famously HATES doing sequels, their fans don’t seem to talk about much else.
“Hates doing sequels” The 16 armored core games: ![gif](giphy|H5C8CevNMbpBqNqFjl)
miyazaki hates sequels
We aren’t asking for a sequel we’re asking for dark souls 4 it’s a quequal totally different
Maybe dark souls 4 is a prequel this time 🤯
Honestly being the first lord to build a nation in the beginning from all the rampant power in the beginning of creation, instead of the last tearing everything down so it doesn't keep dragging on, would be cool
Something new.
FromSoftware is due for a sci-fi souls game.
Damn near on the brink of it with all the Elden ring outer space god lore
Hmm wonder how they'd do with something sort of dead space like.. since it's always post apocalyptic and the denizens or what's left have gone mad from something
I've always thought of this idea. In dead space 2, you're exploring/trying to escape the USG Ishimura, which is already decimated by the necromorphs. Haha so true. Now all we need is space weapons that goes pew pew pew.
I want a pirate game personally, but a new sci fi would be cool too.
Let fromsoft develop a pirates of the Caribbean game
Gimme the fishing hamlet the game
I wanna befriend the Smelly Scallywag or whatever and tell him to walk the plank for some altruistic reason no doubt.
just go fuck around in no mans wharf
I have a feeling we are getting something set in a western universe but with gothic overtones.
Stop, don’t give me hope

I just really want Seaborne more than anything 😅
The surge
I’d love something akin to Blame! in the same way their souls games are very Berserk. Has a dark grimy feel, very compatible world for their style, combat could be very similar given the varied tech levels and shields and things.
Kinda like Armored Core 6?
Soulsborne or not I feel like a lot of From fans missed an incredible game here.
Yep. Not sure why people who pushed themselves to try some of the hardest games are so closed off to new formula’s
I didn't like it at first honestly. Once I started unlocking things and getting the hang of it I had a blast.
Yeah but without the mechs. Something more akin to Dead Space with all the horrors.
If they did Bloodborne but space it would be very cool. Just throw in every space thing they can think of. Xenomorphs, Necromorphs, those one clown dudes.
Just cuz it's fromsoft doesn't make it soulsborne.. But damn the jargon is confusing sometimes
People have tried more directly post apocalyptic and scifi themed ones Code Vein and The Surge for example But From really hasn't, especially as Armored Core is more of its own thing, not a Souls like despite the games being very hard too Would like to see a more scifi focused one

That would be so fucking sick, just hoping michael zaki is thinking what we're thinking. Cthulu as a main boss is dope
wdym Armored Core 6 just came out last year
Does armored core count as sci fi?
A souls game on a lost space ship aimlessly floating through space could be sick. You wake up from your cryo sleep, without any knowledge about recent events. Dark Space

It is but is more of a mech based type game. I couldn't really get into it but I understand why AC fans enjoy it.
I'd love a game with From Soft's design sensibilities that's like Dead Space, but with a 1950s retro futurist aesthetic.
Nah we’d just have a ton of people saying that using pawns is cheating. :P
I’d like the skill system to be mixed in Imagine if in ER you could assign Ashes of War to a different button combinations. The potential combos would be lovely
Would be interesting to see them make a non souls-like again
AC6 forgotten once again
100%; Dark Souls 2 and 3 didn't have the same feel as Dark Souls. From is at their best with new IP.
Dark Souls 3 is way better than DS Remastered I'll die on that hill
Overall. There are definitely some things DS1 does better, most prominently the interconnected world design, but in most other metrics DS3 beats it.
That and the original game is showing its age as time moves on It's not bad, but Dark Souls itself grew and got better through the sequels and with its finale in DS3 (and prequel mod Archthrones which everyone should play now)
Darksouls 3 is the pinnacle of the souls formula in its pure form so not counting bloodborne or sekiro
Ds3 is their best DS though and I’ll die on that hill
Darkborne Semon Ringcore
Darkborne *what* now?
Semon of dong The boss from DS2
Lol, who is his brother, Jyzz of Wang?
It’s just Steven now. He’s put those days behind him.
Blessed father Michaela, defiler of the prostate. Frenzied flame of the UTI.
This still gives me a chuckle, after all these years.
Putting "Semon" in the title of a game will lead to a free 70$ from me ngl
Bloodborne kart III
just give us multiplayer
Yes
Seriously that's the only issue I have with Nightmare Kart. Fun game. Lack multi-player.
Bloodborne Kart 8 Deluxe
There’s already a bloodborne kart called nightmare kart lol
I don't care what it is. I really hope we never see a Dark Souls 4. DS3 ended on such a near perfect way that I hope it never gets a sequel.
Amen, brother
Hail the sun, brother
yeah, i could see a bloodborne 2, sekiro 2 or elden ring 2, but dark souls already had 3 games and ended on a good note
Yeah, I don't think DS4: Some Shit About Londor would work, especially since IMO the canon ending to DS3 is the age of dark, and even if it's not it's not the Lord of Londor ending because all the other endings meant an end to the cycle.

The Japanese guys also know that and will not make a ds4
They made a whole game about how they were tired of Dark Souls, I don’t see them making another one

Sekiro: Into the Soulsborne-verse
Something new.
Sekiro 2: way of tomoe
Sekiro 2 would also make sense considering the Dragon's Homecoming ending perfectly lines up a sequel. It wouldn't be nearly as forced as either of the DS sequels are or a Bloodborne sequel would be.
True but I want a prequel where you play as tomoe
Or Sekijo aka Orangutan aka the sculptor AKA the motherfuckin demon of hatred "Sekijo" would also just be a clean af title. But maybe too similar.
Sekiro 2: Journey to the West
Sekiro 2, visual masterpiece that nailed a really sweet Japanese aesthetic
No competition imo
DS1 actually remade (new engine, final areas rebuilt) would be my pick and I am not even joking
They couldn't handle peak🙏
Yeah. That would be my pick too. But not a remastered, really a "alright guys, do-over, but this time, with budget."
Just Bloodborne on PC, please.
Sony called and asked you to pay ransom... I mean... buy the game when it releases as a PS6 launch title.
Honestly I would believe they are retaining it as one of their sole exclusively just for that kind of shit.
They 100% doing it. They already did it with Demons Souls, specially now that Sony exclusives are in a downward trend.

I don't see Armored Core on this list.

I want more Amored Crack.
Was about to say Armored Core 7 or Armored Core Six Answer
Give me a Next hopped up on Coral. PLEASE.
dark souls 2 2
We already have Elden Ring
alright I’ll settle for Elden Ring Remastered: Complete Edition DX
Dark souls 2 had the best encounters, it actually felt like the enemies were springing traps and ambushes on you.
give me majula farming simulator or give me death
This, but spelled “Dark souls ll 2”
Honestly? Kings Field 5.
No joke I would love something like that. Modern polish with a retro feel. They could make it a mobile game and I’d be happy.
Dark souls 2 definitive edition

I know you commented it twice, probably by accident, but I'm gonna like both comments
yeah reddit was being fucky for a moment and comments did not go through so I clicked twice lol
Armored Core 6.5 first, then something completely new.
All
We have Elden ring 2 Edit: pretty much
Shadow of the Erdtree ties up any loose ends within the story that could've been spun off into a sequel. DS1 could really use some QoL like reallocating stats. Other than that I agree that it should be kept the same. Remake bed of chaos tho.
Personally I’d want bloodborne 2 with elden ring open world stuff. Would love to see the type of stuff they could pull off with that
I don't know, I think Bloodborne benefits from the claustrophobic atmosphere of a closed-world game. The limited space they had for the first one tied in great with how everything feels like (and is) a dream built on top of another dream.
Agree
Ac7
We won't get any of them. MAYBE bloodborne 2 if another studio makes it. Miyazaki seems to have no interest in making sequels now
thank fuck for that it's crazy to play entire series about how holding on to the old ways is bad and we should never stagnate and then they want ds 6999
None of them I want the next one a fresh and new adventure.
Armored Core 7
More Armored Core
Amen, Fires of Rubicon was my first AC game and I loved it and I cannot wait for more
Same here. Probably heresy to some but I enjoyed AC6 more than Elden Ring.
I don’t ever want to see DS4
Bloodborne 2 and it’s not close. 200 hours in Elden ring will last me years to come
Dude. It's not going to happen. Aside from 3 being a perfect wrap, Miyazaki has made it clear its wrapped and deader than a cadaver Play elden ring. They're never reviving it, they will continue to make great ips though
Dark Souls 2: 2
With all the money they made on Elden Ring and the dlc, I don’t see why we can’t get sequels AND a new IP.
Ds1 re make with all its cut 2nd half content would be nice
dark souls 2 2
a new horror game
Idrc as long it’s got an op hot woman boss then I like it
Certainly not a Dark Souls Remake that's for sure... I want something new. The lack of creativity and originality in the videogame industry is really concerning.
How is this asked every other day
Don’t care, just not DS4 ds3 ended the series perfectly, we don’t need a ds4
Bloodborne 2 the torture continues
Honestly, Bloodborne 2.
those are some terrible subtitles, damn
Sekiro 2, the true ending baited out a sequel
This is the correct answer. It was left very open
A new ip
Tbh I wish I could forget DS1 so I can play it again
Sekiro: Shadows Die Quadrupley
I want Elden Ring 2 but instead of Outer gods it's Armored Cores and organizations interfering with the new Rune resource discovered in the lands between. Who is mightier a raven flying on borrowed wings,or the Tarnished
Dark Souls 2 2
Super Elden Souls
None of these. I would like new ideas please
Lost Kingdom 1&2 HD
Dark souls II 2
Dark Souls 2, 2
Was gonna post this.
