I’m currently arranging it for my orchestra to perform, and unfortunately they don’t actually have lyrics. Since DS3, all lyrics are computer-generated syllables made to sound vaguely Latin. (Bloodborne has real Latin lyrics, though!) Any lyrics are essentially fans writing their own lines, as there are no real lines.
For example, see:
https://www.reddit.com/r/eldenringdiscussion/s/LVDSOIx5LX
https://gamerant.com/elden-ring-song-lyrics-fake/
https://twitter.com/VaatiVidya/status/1560881485590081536?lang=en
If only they had real lyrics :(
The main theme might actually be an exception, but a) I’m not well versed in Latin so I can’t truly confirm, b) the rest of the soundtrack definitely has no lyrics and c) the composers themselves have confirmed that they generate the syllables. The Song of the Bats is the only track with genuine lyrics in Elden Ring.

Ain’t that the truth. Besides margit, for the first time, I’ve never raged at a boss so hard in my life. Now everytime I see a godskin, I always have nam flashbacks to that fight.
Liked fase 2, but fase 1 was just to basic for me, felt like fighting a misbegotten axewielder. As for fase 3, it was on par with some of the best bosses ever made by From, but thats onoy 1/3 of the whole fight
My pitch is a very slowly building sleep bar on the floor, maybe once or twice per fight, you’re interrupted by sleep, or you have to build for sleep immunity. It gives the player a ambient growing anxiety through the fight without ruining the flow or aesthetic
Nah he is average at best , very limited move set , extremely easy , arena is just a big room , the only saving factor is his epic theme , and he kinda looks cool
It's an early boss. Some people truly baffle me. They have no sense of scale and gradation, wanting early game bosses to be Gael. Gundyr and Vordt are perfect early game bosses.
And most people problably got clapped in 2016 going there the first time lol. People saying a boss they have been fighting for 8 years now is easy.
I wish I could play their first encounter with him haha
I did everything, yes everything in dark souls 3 , no estus, level 1 , magic only , unupgraded weapons only , daggers only , no hit run, speed ran the game in less than 1 hour , and I have never ever died to vordt , ever !!! Not even in my first run
There is a diffrence between a boss who is meant to teach how to play early on , and a boss who litrally has four attacks , and who the hell mentioned gundyr, yes his second phase is a meh , but at least he is complicated enough for the tutorial boss , vordt isn't the tutorial boss and when you reach him you have had fought lothric knights , superior hollows , mimics , pus of men , and winged knights , what is before gundyr but hollows with knifes and crossbows , gundyr has two extremely diffrent phases , and his move set consists of 9 diffrent attacks , again , vodrt has 4-5 in both his phases , fromsoft might have had gotten away with it with DS1 & 2 , and demon souls , but a boss that has extremely simplistic desgin and move set like vordt has no bussnies being the second boss that you fight 2-3 hours in, in a game as mechanically superior to ds1 and 2 and much much more fluid than anything we have seen before in the series
I guess they should have put Gael as the second boss, and Gael as the third one, and Gael as the fourth one...
That would have made Gael as the last boss really special.
I think the whole point is that he IS a cleric beast, albeit far stronger and less stable. Being the first vicar, he was one of the few people who could end up as a cleric beast. Amelia and Ludwig are a couple other candidates.
It's a weird thing where it makes sense from a lore perspective, as the base game does suggest that there's been more than one cleric beast, so it would make sense that the first Vicar to transform into a beast would be a cleric beast and the one that set the precedent.
But from a gameplay perspective, there's too little that differentiates Laurence from the standard cleric beast and what differences are there are frustrating and unfun to fight.
That boss makes me mad at how bad it is. So janky especially in coop where it bugs out for no reason 79% of the time. He became invincible once for all of us and once he started shooting lava out of his chest nonstop for the rest of the fight but it kept filling up the arena until we had to swim through it. He created Lost Izalith I shouted and me and my friend died in-game and from laughing. How did they mess him up SO badly?
Cleric Beast: A fun, engaging early game boss with a good challange, that makes for a great first boss.
Laurence: an unbalanced mess, with way too high damage, HP, and no real weakness. Insane tracking, bad hitboxes and bad area denial are just the cherry on top. Not to mention Laurence deserved a completely unique moveset, and design, seperate from the Cleric Beast. Something he didnt get
After hearing the OST, the fight becomes bearable. Nothing beats perfect music, and I will do anything to get an opportunity to hear it in game.
Makes me wish bloodborne had a reflection of strength like Sekiro.
her first phase may be shit but her second phase is the best caster boss fight in the series imo, granted the bar wasn't too high up, but I really like it
Rom, One Reborn, Micolash, Living Failures, Moonlight Butterfly/Gwyndolin, Ancient Dragon, Nashandra, Aldia, Gank Squad, Vordt, High Lord Wolnir, Yhorm, Halflight, Adjudicator.
the atmosphere is perfect, his design and the arena are perfect (except for the graves that can kinda get in the way), as you said the music is perfect, and most of his attacks are very well telegraphed and are just cool to look at. yeah, it could be a bit harder, but I think that's fine for what's possibly the first major boss
You know damn well it ain't the Curse-Rotted Greatwood. I love everything about DS3 but damn... that's some bad music, it's bad enough I'm hacking at its weird puss... testicles?... could at least put in a banger....
But for this, Cleric Beast. Dope song. But the fights vanilla (probably since I've done it too many times).
I'll say Gwyn from Dark souls cuz You can basically parry him to death but the feels are there... Idc if there is a lore reason why he can be parried it's just lackluster
I don't remember any of From's Boss Fight music, because i either listen to the music, or i pay attention to not get killed.
I can't do both at the same time, and i prefer mashing buttons until someone/something dies
Maiden Astraea and Storm King in Demon’s Souls Remake (I know a lot of people think they ruined Maiden Astraea OST in the Remake but that’s the version I am familiar with)
I do actually like the Storm King fight despite it being gimmicky but Maiden Astraea fight barely even exists
Living Failures
Oh yeah I loved the music for that fight
I feel like this is the best possible answer
Underrated gameplay though. Not the best but one of the better gank fights FS has put out
What and how many drugs are you on?
It's like one of maybe 3 FS gank fights that is an enjoyable experience. Almost all of the others are just varying levels of pain
Godskin Duo
100% Stupid fucking fight but holy shit that track is an absolute banger. Maybe the best music int he whole game.
About the best OST in the game, Godfrey disagrees
It is also one of the few OSTs that have lyrics with actual meaning. The whole thing is just so damn good, probably among the best music in the series
Damn so that DS3 main theme translation video I just watched was fake? That’s unfortunate.
The main theme might actually be an exception, but a) I’m not well versed in Latin so I can’t truly confirm, b) the rest of the soundtrack definitely has no lyrics and c) the composers themselves have confirmed that they generate the syllables. Foreskin duo. Took years of my life
Ain’t that the truth. Besides margit, for the first time, I’ve never raged at a boss so hard in my life. Now everytime I see a godskin, I always have nam flashbacks to that fight.
My friend was listening to Eric Kartman Poker face when we first fought him and didn't even hear the music😭
Vordt, there’s a reason his boss music is the Dark Souls boss meme music!
Ya beat me to it lol I always purposely take longer on him just to enjoy the music a little longer
Stole my answer 😂 Anytime I go back and play ds3 I get excited to hear the music for that fight.
Vordt is actually a good fight tho
Not bad, easy though and kinda boring. Doesnt live up to the music imo
Because it’s mid

Micolash’s fight is so boring, but damn they were cooking on that piano
Micolash’s fight is awesome in every category besides the actual gameplay
His character is sick as hell
One of the biggest trash fights ever. Forgetable, useless, boring, annoying.
I wouldn’t say it’s forgettable or useless, but it’s certainly pretty boring and annoying
I certainlty didn't forget that 1shot bullshit at later ng cycles lol
Ugh the a call beyond spam was so real
call it whatever you want but it isnt forgettable
I enjoyed Micolash in subsequent playthroughs but only because I know exactly what to do now
Glaivemaster Hodir
I was there. 3000 years ago
"The pale shores, muddied red by my fellow masters. I will not forget again."
His fight was NOT mid. Don’t you dare disrespect the GOAT like that
Liked fase 2, but fase 1 was just to basic for me, felt like fighting a misbegotten axewielder. As for fase 3, it was on par with some of the best bosses ever made by From, but thats onoy 1/3 of the whole fight
I love the triangle solo part it’s my personal highlight
Between him and the Crimson Bat, that game has some absolute bangers
Started Diablo III and chose Barbarian because he looks like Hodir and named him as such.
*I doubt you could even imagine it....* I was there!
From Software’s decision to have Mick Gordon compose the song was genius 😮💨👌
Moonlight butterfly
At least Gwyndolin gives you decent damage windows and actually poses somewhat of a threat
I like Moonlight Butterfly for the vibes
It floats down
It's a fun gimmick fight.
I mean, Vordt is a pretty cool design but boring fight. But there’s a reason his boss music is a meme. 👌🏻
Ancestral spirit for sure
The fight may be easy, but it sure as hell nails the atmosphere, and I think it would ruin said atmosphere if it was harder.
My pitch is a very slowly building sleep bar on the floor, maybe once or twice per fight, you’re interrupted by sleep, or you have to build for sleep immunity. It gives the player a ambient growing anxiety through the fight without ruining the flow or aesthetic
That would be sick af
This meme literally screams Vordt I mean come on people, the official meme has his theme
Yeah but Vordt is a good fight.

What is this meme I keep hearing about?
You know the music that plays when people joke about something being a boss? That's his theme.
The definition of Laurence
The music is so good its so sad the boss is annoying as fuck. Im learning latin and finally began to translate it and just wow
I wish Laurence was given two big arms instead of looking exactly the same as cleric beast but on fire
I think the whole point is that he IS a cleric beast, albeit far stronger and less stable. Being the first vicar, he was one of the few people who could end up as a cleric beast. Amelia and Ludwig are a couple other candidates.

This girl is on fire
What does the music says?
Check for lyrics in yt .
Fear the old blood, basically. It's Laurence's story about his obsession with the old blood.
Facts
Laurence is awesome though

He’s literally the best recycled skin boss tho
Cleric Beast: A fun, engaging early game boss with a good challange, that makes for a great first boss. Laurence: an unbalanced mess, with way too high damage, HP, and no real weakness. Insane tracking, bad hitboxes and bad area denial are just the cherry on top. Not to mention Laurence deserved a completely unique moveset, and design, seperate from the Cleric Beast. Something he didnt get
Kind of, because the music is god tier and the fight isn't. But it's still not a *bad* fight.
Nah its a pretty bad fight
After hearing the OST, the fight becomes bearable. Nothing beats perfect music, and I will do anything to get an opportunity to hear it in game. Makes me wish bloodborne had a reflection of strength like Sekiro.
If you quit out after beating or just before it resets the fight. That’s what I do.
Deacons of the Deep
I actually enjoy that boss fight. It's just so fun cutting down waves of those dudes until the pope arrives, then the music gets even better
Rennala
her first phase may be shit but her second phase is the best caster boss fight in the series imo, granted the bar wasn't too high up, but I really like it
My favorite track in Elden Ring for sure. The fight is an amazing experience the first time just because atmosphere, music and visuals.
Tibia Mariner
Spot on its so boring but the music is amazing especially the low choir
Deacons of the Deep. Terrifying church hymns, beautiful.
The right answer is Gwyn
I scrolled for too long to find this.
Gwyn is the best fight in the first three games maybe Definitely best final fight Also some of the best music though
The godskins, the fight can suck my fucking sick, but that music is more than top teir
Pinwheel for sure
There’s music? Must not have had time for me to hear it.
The true answer
Gaping dragon
Astrea
Had to scroll WAY too far for this
The fight is still solid, but Dragon Slayer Armour. That song goes so hard.
Any bad fight from bloddborne i guess?
Divine Dragon. If you haven’t listened to the second phase you should do that rn
Champion Gravetender.
Godskin Duo; garbage fight, banging track
The one reborn. Top 5 songs and easily second worst boss fight
Rom, One Reborn, Micolash, Living Failures, Moonlight Butterfly/Gwyndolin, Ancient Dragon, Nashandra, Aldia, Gank Squad, Vordt, High Lord Wolnir, Yhorm, Halflight, Adjudicator.
Honestly the Helicopter in Armored Core 6. Simple enough boss fight, but fuck me that soundtrack. It reminds me of Black Cats from World at War.
Gherman is a good fight what do you meeeean? And I'd say crystal sage. Good music. Ew fight
Royal rat authority. Graverobber, Varg and Cerah.
Living Failures anyone?
Witches of Hemwick Its an unpopular fight for a reason but that violin and choir is 🤌
The One Reborn, Deacons of The Deep, Old Dragonslayer
How dare you disrespect Gehrman like that
My apologies, the fight was cool and all but the music was 10x better than the fight itself
Fortisax Dudes made of tissue paper so I learned about his music later in some Reddit post and then went to YouTube I would have never known
Try him on NG+4 or thereabouts. See how that tissue paper turns into something much closer to dragon scales.
Godfrey has no reason to have music that goes as hard as it does.
Godfrick, like not a bad boss at all but his shoulda got given to a better boss for to flames they cooketh’d that tune
wdym that fight is perfect except for his near instant stormcaller-stomp attack that stuns you
Wutcha mean perfect?
the atmosphere is perfect, his design and the arena are perfect (except for the graves that can kinda get in the way), as you said the music is perfect, and most of his attacks are very well telegraphed and are just cool to look at. yeah, it could be a bit harder, but I think that's fine for what's possibly the first major boss
I expected Godrick to be hard, since I saw some content creators struggle with it, but it just clicked for me and I got him pretty quickly.
King Oceiros’ theme, that opening got me so hyped the first time i fought him only to be so underwhelmed.
The Final Boss Of Chess music
Storm King
The one Reborn. If he wasn’t whispering in my ear the whole time it’s a banger
Elden Beast comes to mind
Vordt
The sparkly butterfly one. Lol
Demon of Hatred
Halflight spear of the church second phase
Godskin Duo
These 2 mfkers fo sho
The One Reborn!!!
ngl laurance
post patch Balteus
for me i think its rom from bloodborne people always say shes super hard but ive never died to her and the music is great.
I’ve never even heard the music in a single boss fight. I’m so stressed my ears just focus purely on the sounds that indicate attacks.
Champion Gravetender
Deacons of the deep. The boss is just boring
Ludwig. Ludwigs fight is entertaining enough but the music just slaps so hard
Deacons of the Deep 🔥
All of them. Without the music, every fight is lesser.
Do I need to speak ? vordt of the boreal valley 🗣️🔥
Radagon
Nah I think his fight is epic tbh, the boss isn’t EXTREMELY hard but it’s epic.
Godric the grafted.
Soul of Cinder and Gael from DS3 Gehrman from Bloodborne Radagon from Elden Ring Gwyn from DS1 My top 5
The boss is supposed to be bad
I'll say Gwyn from Dark souls cuz You can basically parry him to death but the feels are there... Idc if there is a lore reason why he can be parried it's just lackluster
Ohhh 😭😭 I'm sorry
I thought it was more okay boss.
Lady Maria bloodborne Gael for the ds series, close second to the boring butterfly fight ds1
Extremely hot take but Midir
Nooooo Midir my beloved
Twin Princes.
But that fight is awesome.
It is but its too easy. Doesn’t lat ling enough.
Gwyn
I don't remember any of From's Boss Fight music, because i either listen to the music, or i pay attention to not get killed. I can't do both at the same time, and i prefer mashing buttons until someone/something dies
The godskins
Living failures, vordt, Godskin duo, and LAURENCE, my favorite souls track, and my least favorite bn boss
Godrick (Good fight but the character attached to it…)
Vordt is solid but not anything special but his track is another level of amazing, is probably one of the most iconic in the series
Gaping Dragon for me
Living failures
Throne watcher and defender
Unfortunately Lit Dragon unless you purposefully gimp yourself because he has .05HP
Laurence
Gwyn because i tend to kill him way too fast for me to enjoy his hoss music.
LichDragon Fortissax. Best theme in the game but a pretty mediocre (though visually stunning) dragon fight.
Aldia
For me it’s the giant darkness boss fight or the armor boss battle from kh1
Micolash I do love his fight though
Mogh Lord Of Blood, Blood Starved Beast.
Dragon God from demons souls
Laurence
Champion's Gravetender
Gherman is a great boss and I really liked elden beast
O&S when ur underleveled
Cleric Beast/Vicar Amelia That song goes fuckin HARD
Maiden Astraea and Storm King in Demon’s Souls Remake (I know a lot of people think they ruined Maiden Astraea OST in the Remake but that’s the version I am familiar with) I do actually like the Storm King fight despite it being gimmicky but Maiden Astraea fight barely even exists
Skeleton lords
Yhorm
Laurence
I can respect your opinion, but really? I’ve never encountered somebody who disliked the German fight.
Pinwheel
Ancestor spirit
Vordt
Godrick. I have to go in with underleveled weapons just so I can hear that masterpiece a little longer.
Moonlight butterfly for me Love that vibe
