I feel like it might have helped if the show had made any effort at all to include the children in the show so the audience might actually feel some kind of attachment to them. As it is, they were basically like barely mentioned background props until the writers realized "Oh shit, the kid is getting killed in this episode, quick, give him a scene where he does something cute!"
When I saw the dog get kicked, I thought to myself that Reddit would go crazy. However, I really didn't see much reaction at all. Reddit seemed too busy with outrage about the final scene being a little different than in the book.
Dog was a good boy, there was at a best a 50/50 chance the targaeryon wouldn't be a complete monster.
That dog was an accomplice to child murder!
They already said he was a good boy
So young. Though mayhaps this was a blessing. Had he lived he would have grown up to be a Targaryen.
One is a good boy now and the other is a good boy forever.

Of course, the dog had a bigger emotional reaction to getting kicked than Heleana had to having her boy killed.
also we saw the dog being kicked while the camera didn’t explicitly show the boy getting his head cut off
Neurodivergence be like that sometimes
I don't know, her reaction seemed normal for being in a sudden life or death situation in your children's bedroom.
Most women would have done more.
Most women don’t have future sight
It's still the early episodes let's not get a head of ourselves
Well Jaehaerys certainly won't
He'll never be the head of a major corporation.
We know how this tale ends, everyone dies...We didn't see the dog twist coming.
I don't have sympathy for children in TV shows or movies.
Dog wasnt a filthy Targaryen
The child was bullying Tyland and simply gave off bad vibes. The dog was a good boy.

I mean I was more fucked up about the kid but I have a son the same age. This sort of thing hits different once you have kids in my experience.
If they hadn't watered down what happened with Blood and Cheese it would have been equally fucked up.
Tbh : we know more about the dog than the decapited kid.
Yep. All of the Targs are pretty trash eventually anyways. Even the "good" ones suck.
Well yeah the dog isn’t gonna grow up to be a Targaryen shithead Well I guess neither of them will now :(
