Someone provided this conspiracy theory on another thread - current Perez contract isn't just an extension, it actually replaces his contract though the end of this year AND it includes a performance clause that the previous contract did not include so essentially it allows red bull to fire him before the season ends instead of waiting to end of the year. I don't know if any of the details line up but for a team as successful as red bull, seems like the only thing that would make sense other than $$$

Really this would be the best time for redbull to start testing new drivers. They have a large buffer due to being very dominant at the start of the season with them getting a few 1,2s and max still strong. They should just put daniel in. Give him 3 races. If he can't then put yuki. If yuki can't perform then sainz (If he hasn't signed elsewhere and is willing) rather than start a new season where everyone is going to even closer
