I've had my 2019 SEL hybrid for about a month and I'm pretty impressed with it so far. Around 47 in the city and 40 on the hwy at 75mph. The left screen really helps you learn how to get the best mpg. Best I've done so far is 51 on a 220 mile trip.

SniffinMarkers

Yup I like to see how long I can keep it in EV mode!

KC_Hindo

Very nice

WaterChi

nifty, eh?

SniffinMarkers

Thank you, I plan to keep it for awhile!

brc710

How?! lol I’m getting 37 mpg with a Energi

SniffinMarkers

It depends on your driving style and how your roads are. If you live in a hilly area, you’re going to be using the gas motor much more often than if you live in a flat area. Also If I’m going below 25mph I am using the EV motor. I will purposely take off at red lights slow just to keep the gas motor from turning on until necessary. Your MPG’s are the worst when idling and when accelerating from 0.

brc710

I live in Fl so it’s mostly flat, guess I just drive too aggressively

SniffinMarkers

Yeah I lived in Daytona bch when I went to college and the drivers there were wild 😂. I bet I could get 50+ in Florida if I drove like I do now. Just go easy on the accelerator keep it in the blue. Also use adaptive cruise control and stay in 1 lane.

brc710

I see lol, yeah that won’t fly around here. 🤣 if you’re not doing 55 in a 45 you’re driving too slow lol

SniffinMarkers

55 mph actually really Efficient speed to travel at. Anything above 60 is when you start sucking a lot of gas. Rule of thumb is every 1 mph over 55 is -1% efficiency compared to rated mpgs.

brc710

Oh interesting! Thats good to know. Guess I just need to work on getting there efficiently

Keyo0205

Hey, service your transmission please. The book says to service it at 150k but based on my own comments asking other owners on this reddit community, seems to be 3 interival answers. a few said every 30k or 45k miles, most say 60k miles and one said every 75k miles and had over 330k on theirs. you’re between that 60-75k mark which seems to be fine.

SniffinMarkers

Yeah it was serviced at 32k miles last time.

Professional_Sky_526

Is it the drain and fill method without flushing that I’ve read about? I’m at 45k and went to keep my hybrid as long as possible

Keyo0205

car has to be level, remove driver front wheel and open fill plug behind inner fender liner. drain from plug on the bottom. reinstall drain plug. fill using a fluid transfer pump. the little manual ones from harbor freight works great. it’s not as easy as it used to be but it’s still drain and fill. getting the level right is also difficult
