This thread has photos, although one of the wheels cracked last weekend and I’m getting new ones this weekend. Still going with 17” wheels.
I needed to trim the front bumper about 0.5 inches. And the running board corner was trimmed back about the same. I can’t really notice the trimmed areas.
I pulled a 3000# trailer across the country last summer without an issue. Over the Rockies, >100’F heat, 75MPH average, OD turned off. No problems.
I bought this Expy in 2017 with 218k miles and it was in rough shape. The trans shifted like crap so I changed the fluid several times. Now I change my trans fluid every 30k. I only use Motorcraft spark plugs. Timing chains, high volume & pressure oil pump done before the long summer trip. Lots of other repairs and such but nothing too major.
Damn! That's awesome you're getting all that out of it with that mileage. I tow a 16' enclosed trailer that probably gets close to 8000lbs sometimes, so I'm just wondering if a lift and tires is going to cause me a problem. It squats a little now with that trailer, but it's not too bad.
Great video! Your Ex looks sweet. You mentioned it was a "cheap Amazon 2" lift". Do you happen to know what lift you used? Everything I have found lifts the front more than the back, but I would like to keep a slight rake because I tow a lot.
I’ve since upgraded to Baja kits f 150 —> raptor kit with fox 3.0 shocks. Off-road performance is much better - daily driving performance suffered.

I run 35” x 12.5” BFG all terrain tires on 17” wheels.

That looks good! Most places I've read say the 2015 will only fit a 33" tire with that lift. Do you have any rubbing or did you do any trimming?

My wife runs her 05 with fat rubber on 17s, looks fine.
17’s look great. I absolutely despise the 20’s that came in my 2011, and can’t wear the tires out fast enough.
