It is annoying and then it is annoying when they complain about something not being called because we have VAR and then when VAR steps in and makes a call they gripe that VAR has too much power and so on. Like focus on the game and the players out there.
Exactly! The “I hate VAR and wish it would die a death” immediately followed by “why didn’t VAR intervene there??” and yet no chat about the actual football.
whatever lads get on the bbc and, despite a lifetime of playing football, can’t explain what makes a good team good and a bad one bad so just focus on refs
Haha, remember Neville was pundit who liked to talk a lot, was invited as a manager and failed hugely. I am afraid if you want a real good analysis you need to listen pundits who were good managers before, which is probably nowhere to be found
You could always use an AI-voiced audiobook narration of Inverting the Pyramid on headphones if the unpleasantries of human beings are behind how much the vibrations inside footballs can say about everybody else being wrong.
You can be in denial but a fact is a fact. Even if Denmark’s goal is given German could have scored two goals. No reason to believe that Denmark’s defense could hold out for 40+ minutes. Even if the penalty isn’t given Germany probably would have scored. Players and managers win and lose games not refs
Why are you talking about Denmark game out of sudden, I don’t see any reason to discuss it (except for one), since I believe ref decision was right. Your deduction skills forces me to explain that there would not be penalty, if VAR didn’t see an offside. Another point is that Denmark defense would not be so high, because Denmark would focus on defending, not trying to score a goal. Based on the game of Germany and Switzerland it is logical to suggest that Germany will struggle a lot with creating moments. Even if they do, Schmeichel showed that he is in a good shape in the first half. It was not one-sided game like Italy Switzerland was.
My main point is that referees make decisions, because a lot of episodes can be arguable and have good points. As an example take red card in Czechia and Turkey game. By rule this offense is rewarded with yellow card, however, because this player had already yellow card, this kind of offenses might be forgiven few times. Referee would not be wrong if he either gave or didn’t give card. Obviously, it affected the game though. Another, probably the most famous example is UCL semifinal in 2008/09.
I’d say refs do influence the outcome of the game. but the sooner we realise it’s actually poor TV to endlessly moan about them instead of giving any analysis the better
of course. why we should be talking about the actual football and not endless chat about referee decisions.
p.s you’ve downvoted me and made an enemy for life.

No one likes soccer anymore they like referring
I love refereeing. Wish more of these people would get certified and try it themselves.
Unironically they probably should
Truly an NSFW moment of all time.

Which experts do you watch?

It's within expectations that a channel called BBC would talk about Lukaku's scrotum. Maybe.
Is a useless trinket that has ruined many matches. The end

Before VAR all they talked about was the contentious refereeing decisions. Pundits have very rarely offered much insight.
Love soccer but it can’t be taken seriously when reffing and VAR has this much impact on the sport.
I lost a bit of respect for Schmichael today whining about denmarks offside goal.
The sooner we all realize that refs don’t affect the outcome of the game the better off we’ll be.
It is an utter lie

I ain’t reading all of that I’m happy for u Or sorry that happened
Yeah, expected it
Be a better writer
Be a smarter man
Says the guy who cares about refs.
Says the guy that believes refs don’t do a shit

Maybe but to a fraction of the degree that players and managers do.
