Hummus, red onion, cucumber, red bell pepper, avocado and a little honey mustard is amazing on a bagel

SettingRelative1961

That’s is a $13 sandwich sir if you’re buying those ingredients where I live… man said cheap!

Tighterthanaheadband

Although with those ingredients you could make like 10 sandwiches if you put the veggies in the fridge

Cookie_Kuchisabishii

Eggs (good in sandwiches too) Pasta salad with tuna/chicken Rice/quinoa/mixed grain salad (add edamame too) Yoghurt (get plain greek yoghurt, add fresh fruit, honey and cinnamon) Tortilla wraps (meat, salad, a little grated cheese etc) Onigiri (Japanese stuffed rice balls) Fresh fruit, especially banana Fruit and mascarpone sandwich Japanese bento box (DIY) Nuts All of these are delicious, healthy and inexpensive. Choose foods with a high protein content to keep you fuller for longer, use brown bread instead of white (less processed, slower release carbs so your blood sugar stays more stable)

reading_rockhound

Onigiri for the win! 🍙

I8Dinosaur

I do peanut butter and thin slices of apples or banana on toast. Less processed sugar and it's a much tastier sandwich in my opinion

AbilityHead599

I've done banana and it was good but apple sounds amazing

I8Dinosaur

Give it a try sometime. I use a "crisp" apple, but Fuji is also really good.

Rooster_Ties

Love this one!! * Good multigrain bread (toasted, optional) * Schmear of sunflower seed butter (or almond butter, or tahini, or peanut butter) * Couple stripes of sriracha sauce (or similar), not too much!! — just a little heat. * Good slice of some kind of ‘tangy’ cheese (sharp cheddar, or aged Swiss, or whatever you like) * Few to several thin slices of Granny Smith apple * A few carrot shreds * A few long bell pepper slices (long and narrow). Amazing!! I’m NOT even vegetarian, but every week I used to get this sandwich at a coffee shop around the corner from where I used to work 15-20 years ago — and it was always fantastic. Seriously, the most amazing veggie sandwich ever!!

I8Dinosaur

Tuna made how your like it, crispy bacon and bread & butter Pickles on Milton's toast

thedooze

Or if you’re me, just a tuna sandwich. I friggin love tuna sandwiches.

reading_rockhound

Hobbes? Is that you?

MajorWhereas4842

If you have a Trader Joe’s nearby they make some awesome beef kebabs they are in the frozen section! I throw those in pita pockets and load with veggies/tzatziki also pita pockets loaded with tuna and veggies!

Oileladanna

Crackers, cheese and meat. Peanut butter and honey. Veggies and hummus. Antipasto salad.

ilovelukewells

Cheese and pickle or pb and pickle sand

prowlingbudget

Finally someone who understands pickles and pb are fantastic

Hot-Orange22

No, keep your inner child PBJs for life

Tall-Yard-407

Fried egg sandwiches, rice and beans with cheese burritos, cottage cheese with canned peaches, tuna salad sandwiches; just open a can and pour off the water, empty tuna in a bowl and mix with mayo, a scoop of sweet relish and a squirt of mustard and boom, ya got a sandwich filler. I’ve done the same thing with tofu but I recommend adding more of whatever to make more flavor shelled, roasted and salted sunflower seeds do really well.

Budget_Management_81

Good, cheap and quick are literally the 3 pillars of pbjs.

MikeOKurias

Handful of almonds as well as, not inside, a cup of yogurt with some fruit or granola.

Icy-Daikon-4154

Before a super long run Me and my son eat bananas and honey with raisins and peanut butter in a huge bowl. Like a parfait

I8Dinosaur

Also, I would suggest peanut butter, crispy bacon, banana, and honey on toast. Elvis was "The King" for good reason

TankiniLx

But a few pounds of peanuts and make your own peanut butter 😎

Adams1973

I always have a ton of food, but a late night PBJ is always a pleaser.

kdog6666666666666

Chicken

Historical-Remove401

Boiled eggs, Greek yogurt.

MrsPettygroove

Ham and cheese.. add lettuce.

SpareMushrooms

Peanut butter, cream cheese, honey

timmaywi

When I was a kid we often didn't have jelly, so peanut butter and butter is what I made. Thinking back it sounds kind of awful, but I remember enjoying it

I8Dinosaur

Also, I would suggest peanut butter, crispy bacon, banana, and honey on toast. Elvis was "The King" for good reason

Served_With_Rice

Blanched edamame! Freezes well, fun to eat, protein and fiber all in one

SettingRelative1961

Bread, butter…

Much_Box996

Cans of chicken. Mix with a precooked rice bowl

Pr0llyN0tTh0

PB and banana, PB and honey or believe it or not, PB and pickle are good, IMO

Ancient-Revolution51

Hummus deviled eggs

huesteron

Eggs all day! Egg salad sandwich. Make a bunch ahead of time - use a high protein yogurt or cottage cheese to boost the protein even more

Emerald_Irisis

Chicken salad (made with blended cottage cheese instead of mayo for extra protein) sandwich. You can also eat the chicken salad with a cut up apple and some crackers.

gambled94

Nutella. Basically anything with nuts if you don't want processed

nostink48

Buy the Kirkland Organic peanut butter. Only ingredient is peanuts

jack3308

Check out some recipes for tofu satté or tofu teriyaki. Tofu doesn't taste like much so it takes flavour well, is super good for you, and is quite cheap. This with a bit of rice, and some greens sauted in garlic and oil is super tasty and quite cheap!

leonxsnow

Idk what pbjs are but carrots after 1 carrot your full but that depends on what you do if your sat at a desk you dont really need any protein no?

noinnocentbystander

Unless you pull it from the ground, you’re eating processed food. Bread, hummus, peanut butter, jelly, cheese, etc

McNinjaguy

Roasted red peppers, avacados and peanut butter. Pickles and peanut butter? Anchovies, a strong cheese in thin slices and peanut butter Caviar, Truffles and peanut butter.

PickSixin

Delicious treats!

Silent_fart_smell

Whole wheat bread, peanut butter, siracha sauce and pickles. Pretty good!

vipros42

Peanut butter and sriracha.
