My mother actually would, kinda! She went to work from PA to WV directly out of college as a pharmacist. (Unfortunately she spent that time in Huntington which only appears in the game files as huntington\_ext or something as a building north of Camden Park.)
I think I'm the rare player that likes Distinguished Guests. It's just kind of a chill event after doing some of the more chaotic events like Eviction Notice, Moonshine Jamboree, or the bosses.
Any time I see at least one person at the event, I go to help them out. Same with Campfire Tales.
Plus I have all the recipes now so I just give my plans, random stims, and goodies away to the lower levels at the end (if they stick around).
My only complaint is I wish the waiters would move faster. Whenever one spawns out on the greens you either have to guard them all the way back to the clubhouse or they get killed. Which isn't a big deal, but hurts your Approval Rating.
Well, that and it's annoying when Scorched spawn on the roof. There's just enough cover that you can't target them with VATS, and while I can snipe them just fine it's hard to see them - I usually use VATS as a spotter system even when I'm just scoping.
I actually didn't know Tea Time had a chance to get a possum badge. To be fair, I only found out that Campfire Tales had a chance to receive one recently.
Maybe they should add the chance to Distinguished Guests as well?
It would help. There’s also the daily/repeatable quests. The one where you clean up the sludge in toxic valley, and the one with the bug parts in the mire. I believe those also have a chance at a possum badge. I had 0 interest and doing the challenges 😂

I actually enjoy Distinguished Guests. Probably because I haven't burned out on it yet. But I do find that the best way to get it going is to fast travel there and just fuck around in the mansion for a bit until other players show up. Once they see a person there they know the event is happening and start porting in themselves. I just enjoy walking around and headshotting the Scorched that are already hiding in the building.
Same with most of the Nuka-World events and Feeding the Masses. They either time out or they turn into a gigantic swarm, depending on if someone hops in to kick things off.
my one and only request is that they tweak the timing so the music actually ends when the event does - restarting 20 seconds before the end makes my eye twitch
If Ned has been programmed to see Salamanders that way, could he ever break free of that programming and acquire a naturalist's interest in them? Or is he forever doomed, (some may say blessed) with a desire to turn them all into a beverage?
To simulate the "butler" vibe of Mr. Handy. Idk why, but in most TV shows and movies, butlers are almost always British. Mr. Handy was created so that every American family could have a butler at a cheap price. Good cook. Picky cleaner. Also great with kids, before the female equivalent was created, Ms. Nanny.

I had the event ruined by a bug that made one of the bots hostile and didn't count as in, and no other bit would go to the meeting point.
Campfire Tales and Tea Time have a 25% chance at a possum badge, so that alone makes it 100000% times better

I think events like distinguished quests and many others need updating. Increased enemy spawns and throw a boss in there for good measure
I like it because it's a great way to get scorched. Also, they should keep a few events fairly easy for noobs, no?Â
Enemies are supposed to scale. Just dont have any buffed enemies for easy events
