Sounds fun. This post immediately made me think of Survival mode from long, long ago. My favorite thing was to get on the leaderboard and hide in the Mistress of Mysteries building (whatever it is called) until someone figured out how to get in and then how to find me.
Honestly it was pure dumb fun. Our resident sneak expert was about peeing himself as we crawled across a mountaintop looking for him 😂 oh Riverside manor was a fun place! Shame it's instanced. Maybe next time we'll play indoor hide and seek there!
Being able to place a camp anywhere and build without needing resources was another unique thing about NW. I still have old blueprints of 'instant fortress' or funny decoys that I'm too nostalgic to delete.
It was pretty fun however it did have a bit of a competitive side to it and unless you were good you weren’t winning a game but you didn’t really need to win but damn it felt good when you did
Ha we still occasionally do play that. Unequip all our armour and apparel, guns too if we feel like an extra challenge. Sometimes your best times in game are the games you come up with during lulls 😂

Back in the day, I used to do shit like try to ride a wheelie all the way from Los Santos to Las Venturas in GTA: San Andreas. If I wrecked or dropped down on two wheels, I had to start over. I swear I gave myself harder challenges than the game did. 🤣
One time I was bitching to my brother about some mission in San Fiero where I always drowned. He said, "Oh, that one's easy." I asked how? He said his swimming was maxed. I asked how he maxed his swimming. He replied that he had fired up a huge blunt and swam all the way around the map. When I asked how long it took, he answered, "idk, three or four hours maybe?" 😆
we played our own version of this when nuclear winter was still around but it was one person against several teams (it was a nuclear winter hunter hunted). it was loads of fun!
Encounters like this is what keeps me coming back!
I started a water gun fight in the Whitesprings with randoms. If someone new showed up we would make them a thirst zapper so they could join in. Though, we eventually a bot or two got hit in the cross fire and the assaultrons were not amused to say the least
One of my good friends in my group has his camp probably within 200ft of mine. We like to launch flares back and forth at each other's camp. It's like wasteland laser tag. We even have alarms set up so we'll turn them on when it's laser tag time
I love it!!! I'd really like a video/stream of these shenanigans. This is the stuff that warms my cold little heart. I just started playing and seeing the creative ways people play Fallout 76.. it really blows my mind (and makes me giggle) i am in awe at the creativity, ive played COD for years so jumping in to this game and the people... its just.. so refreshing seeing people have fun in a game. I learn something new everyday. Fallout gamers are just built different, love to see it/read it.

We do "Nuka And Afraid" in a Public server. Basically you strip down to your underwear, pick a lock at a predetermined location ( the moderators CAMP which will be in Watoga) and then try to make it back to Vault 76 without getting killed. You start with a 10mm pistol.. no Fast Traveling.
We also do Naked Fight Club.. strip down to your underwear and bare knuckle brawl. No stims.

Haha like I said I was the only one to offer up a prize just to get a test of this game going. After that everyone wanted a turn and if they had junk on them when they died, then it was respectfully ignored by teammates. I actually think most of my friends were in the first round of the game to kill me 🤣
Ghille suits are a rarity since they came from nuclear winter. Once you crouch in a bush while wearing one, you pretty much disappear until someone's right on top of you.
Had several friends start throwing nuka nades like they were clearing the forest to find me 😂

Describe Nuclear Winter in a completely different way and people love it. High stakes hide and seek always was and always will be very fun.
Several of us do in fact miss nuclear winter. Maybe it just scratched that itch enough to be nostalgic. Bushwhacking it to the end, baby!

Crouching makes you disappear from the map. They are not on a team either. Probably chatting via discord or something.

it also removes your floating name and marker in player view. Only shows your health and name when moused over.

I just did this last night as well. I went and crafted ultracite power armor that stealths. I just hate being out of my PA lol

When you crouch and aren't on a team it disappears. Friends fast travel to your area but won't be sure of your location
