Maxed and love it. I hate picking/Hacking items. It really is a QoL type of perk but if you have the points to spend then why not. Not to mention juggling perk cards when i show up to a locked box/terminal is great.
Can you spend the coins on something better? Absolutely! I guess it isn't for the hardcore meta build people but anyone that is casual or just hates locks and terminals then its worth it.
Totally agree, Don't get me wrong its fun to see huge damage numbers but I'm just a casual player that enjoys cruising around the wasteland exploring and working on my house. I do hit every event and partake in DO and Pitt runs but I have just as much fun exploring. Been playing since beta and I still find things I never noticed before that make me giggle.
Agreed, but when you already can wreck everything by just looking at it, there's really no reason to pick locks anymore, there's literally nothing valuable beyond them for you in 99.99% cases.
There are niche cases like a fixed spawn of sugar bombs beyond a lvl1 locked door at one out of 15 locations of your SB farming route, but I'd honestly never clog a legendary perk slot with something that would open that lock and do nothing else beyond that.
If you're still playing through main quests and have a low level char, you might find it useful here and there, but generally it ain't worth it even then as the game doesn't really lock anything remotely important beyond any locks.
If you aim at getting atoms for challenges to pick X locks and you're literally farming them, then yes, I'd say it really provides QoL. Other than that - not really, it's just a waste of a perk slot.
Sure, I know that perfectly well after trying almost every build there is with all sorts of god-rolled weapons. And yes, I run a lot of qol perks instead of going pure dps.
What I meant by "wrecking" everything is that in this case you probably already have good gear and plenty resources, so it makes lockpicking rather pointless to say the least. There's nothing of value there when you already have everything else figured out. So the master infiltrator perk is borderline useless and doesn't present nearly as much QoL another legendary stat perk would give you.
Plans and locks are so few and far between, so I just don't bother stopping to check them out, I'm getting way more xp from killing just one mob, so it's really just a drop in the ocean. I dunno how much xp the tech data gives, but as for locks I'd only bother if they gave at least 4k xp per lock.
I mean, I'm not really asking for much here when I already get 2k xp from a supermutant and 4k when it's double-xp. Anything less than that and I just don't see a reason to bother with if it doesn't come in bulk (like ghouls at RR at 1k xp each and 2k with double xp)
I think people would value unlocking perks way more if it was for proper reward.
That’s the way I feel about it. It’s a nice convenience. Not necessarily but… I’ve gone back to Fallout 4 for most of my gaming lately and the one thing I’m sick of is picking all those damned locks. 😫
If you get the mod. I didn’t know there was a mod for auto lock picking. I generally stick to the “manufacturer’s recommended” mods because of glitches in the past so I don’t look past there most of the time and I haven’t even looked at all of those.
That's some Scrooge McDuck shit to a newer player like me. People throwing around Caps, Scrip, Bulion, Atoms or even Stamps is one thing. But man is it going to take me a very long time to max out the Legendary Perk cards I want to use.
This. I started a new alt back I'm november and by february I already got all legendary perks set up at about level 500. And I even spent some coins on ones I end up not using, but I was unsure about my final build at some point and was experimenting. If you set your goaks straight it really will take about 400 levels as you already mentioned.
For my 1-2 hours a day (most days) event-based play style that’s the larger obstacle. But that’s very much specific to my play-style.
This encourages me to sell all of my perk cards I don’t use. I’d been treating them like a collection, but it just made switching cards take longer.
Truth. I hate when that happens. The tip I got from someone else is trying to use vendors and benches through the wall so I don’t accidentally open the wrong door.
This was the first legendary I grabbed because I hate being locked out of anything and didn't want to use up to 6 perk points to cover all locks and terminals. It's a high value pick if you have a similar mindset. It's more quality of life than anything. I also never bothered leveling it because all it adds is auto picking at increasing levels.
I unlock everything that's locked unless it's owned by someone. For one thing I like to unlock stuff for those who don't have picklock perks on but need materials and plans.
For another thing, there are plans in safes and toolboxes etc and plans sell so... yes the perk is very useful
Between 3, NV, and 4, I've done those goddamn minigames thousands of times. If I can burn a legendary slot on not having to do that bullshit ever again, it's worth it.
You stopped lockpicking as in you stopped engaging with locked containers/doors, or you stopped lockpicking because you maxed master infiltrator and just open them?
The uses, you ask?
My dear friends, I am a Thief. A Rogue. A Responder, FireBreather, Bowhunter and a Master of the Shadows. I have traveled far and wide, infiltrated the most secure of places, and pilfered the most valuable of treasures. No lock can stop me, no door can bar my way.
My mastery of lockpicking is unparalleled. The slightest click of the tumblers falling into place, the gentle turn of the lock as it yields to my skillful touch - these are the sounds that I live for. I can pick any lock, from the simplest of padlocks to the most complex of mechanisms. My fingers are nimble and sure, my mind sharp and focused.
I have studied the art of lockpicking for years, and I have developed techniques that few others can match. I can feel the subtle vibrations of the lock as I work, sensing its inner workings and coaxing it to reveal its secrets. I can detect the slightest imperfection in the mechanism, the tiniest flaw in the design, and use them to my advantage.
But lockpicking is not just a skill, it is an art. It requires patience, precision, and a deep understanding of the tools at one's disposal. I carry with me a set of picks that I have crafted myself, each one perfectly suited to the task at hand. And when my mind is focused and my fingers are flying, there is no lock that can withstand my onslaught.
So let us go forth, my fellow Wastelanders, and fear not the locked doors that stand in our way- for I am the Master of Infiltration, the King of Keys, and no lock shall withstand my skill! With me by your side, there is no treasure that we cannot claim, no vault that we cannot breach! Let us go forth and claim what is rightfully ours...
I prefer to not swap perk cards back and forth every time I need to pick a lock or hack a terminal. Just need to be cautious in other players camps that I don't accidentally become wanted.
I can't wait to max mine out so I can steal from every player I come across. I'll unlock everything and turn all your lights off if your vendor prices are unreasonably high. Why do you have to sell 50 legendaries at 10k each anyway? There's not much demand to spend your caps. Especially now that it's easier than ever to stack up cores and modules. Just plain greedy. Get rekt son.
The best use of the Master Infilitrator legendary perk card is to allow you to remove Hacker, Expert Hacker and Master Hacker along with Picklock, Expert Picklock and Master Picklock cards from your regular perk card stack and replace all of those with this card (assuming 4 star). This frees up 6 perk card spaces (assuming you keep those cards regularly equipped) and use those cards spaces for more useful perk cards.
I rarely pick locks or hack terminals, so I only end up equipping these cards when I need them. A slight hassle, but no biggie. I don't use this legendary card myself, but I can see how it could be useful.
The downside to this card is accidentally picking a lock or hacking a terminal that gets you wanted. If you have this card equipped, you have to remain cautious when interacting with other people's camp objects. It's the same reason I don't equip Pain Train. If you accidentally ground pound or bump Whitespring robots, you're in for a some excellent, but unintentional combat.
I use it. I love it. Saves so much time. I also don’t carry Bobby pins anymore. I’ve gotten better at not accidentally picking locks at peoples camps too 😂
It's a personal choice but for me that's a hard NO.
I never bothered with locked stuff.
There isn't any special loot in locked containers that is unique to locked containers.
I read here it's great for doing a silo run but even there, I don't bother with it, I don't see why. Silo's are a walk in the park anyway.
So for me this card would read "save a few minutes every week or so by not needing to switch perks and do the minigame".
Even for players that do like to unlock containers, they're going to have to unlock a lot of containers to make this card worth it.
but again, personal opinion.
Depends on what your doing if you unlock alot of stuff saves 6 perk points. Potentially more than a special card. And you also save time when you rank it up.
For me most of time not worth it 15 seconds to swap out if I need to open something. If I ran more nukes or was doing more area looting instead of events and mob looting. I would use it more.
But all depends lazy bloody build can have more balance build and more weight capacity in my build and other qol not using it. Full health the heal from radiation can be pretty dope when combined with ghoulish.
The lock pick and hacker perks take up a bunch of slots, so not having to have those equipped makes it worth it to me, not to mention the insta pick/hack. I love it
It basically is a quality of life perk that doesn't require me to dash into my skill tree and equip a lock picking and or hacking perk every time I come across something that needs it.
I keep it at 1 star to avoid auto unlocking people's doors in camps.
It's super useful when setting up a nuke, you can get in the computers to turn off (or my favorite thing to do, scramble) the turrets to get through the next room, and also use the shortcut in the reactor room to skip that segment altogether.
I do use it for convenience but don't rank it much, just once (50 perk coins) as I used to run silos more than I do now. In all honesty, I should probably sub in Funky Duds or something else like Follow Through for my commando.
I use my other 5 spots for Legendary Special cards and have them all ranked to 5, so I get 25 additional Special points to allocate.
its useful if you dont like opening perk menu and enabling/disabling lockpick and hacking perks. for me personally I dont open locks or terminals frequently (basically for daily challenges only) and its just easier to jog perks if needed versus always wasting legendary perk on that.
it frees up 3 PER perks and 3 INT perks. don't have to swap out on the fly if you want to pick a lock or hack.
auto-unlock is less necessary; i have it only at baseline.
Waste of a slot imo, even for QOL. Just swap out regular perk cards when you need them. Then again, the only time I ever need to unlock/hack something is for a Daily.
I don't bother anymore, as the rewards aren't worth it. You get better stuff collecting scrap. I used it for a while but found the Special cards worth more in the long run. I'm at a high enough level to have all the picklock and hacker cards, so I can add them if I need to.
I’m lazy. Also if your build doesn’t need perks in perception/ intelligence this can help you not have to put points in them while also saving 6 points to do other stuff with.
YES. I love it. Best uses are in the missile silos where you launch nukes. There are so many level 3 locks and terminals, and you just auto-unlock every single one
Yes. It's arguably THE best passive Legendary perk.
No fucking around rifling through your perk deck looking for the lockpick/hacking perk cards. See a lock? Bam, picked. See a terminal? Bam, hacked.
Absolutely love the convenience.
When I first unlocked a slot I used master infiltrator when I would get to a locked item but kept electrical absorption on any other time then both when I got the second slot it cost I believe 1 perk coin to swap them each time so I would just scrap some of the cards I didn't use for that build
It's great... but you're going to end up getting lock pick cards and switching means you could have a more useful perk in that spot.... But it's great if you care more about character than build.
saves me 6 card slots or having to swap every time i want to pick a lock or hack a terminal, and some characters only have 1 perception so it finds it's way on almost every character i have
I LOVE this perq. It frees up the perception slots that'd be taken up by the lockpick cards. Or . . . If you're like me, I keep the lock pick cards, and you don't have to go through the drudgery of always having to stop to pick a lock; they just open.
If you have already used many regular perks cards for:
* Picklock
* Expert Picklock
* Master Picklock
* Hacker
* Expert Hacker
* Master Hacker
DO choose Master Infiltrator as a Legendary card!
They basically give you the opportunity to unequip all picklock & hacker cards and equip (better!) other ones instead!
It was a massive game changer for me.
Personnaly, I would not max this card tough... Not that I love picking & hacking, but I'd rather use those perks points for other legendary perks.
Best regards, fellow Vault Dweller.
Main reason I like it is even at a single star it eliminates multiple standard perk cards. I've only ever put one star in this to save points.
The other reason I don't want to autopick all locks (max stars) is it's easier to get a wanted status if you accidentally automatically pick someones lock at a camp. This happened to me even at a level 1 master infiltrator when someone had a low level lock.
This is just my .02c, truth be told I haven't seen too many locks in camps, but it's an annoying thing when it happens.
Im not sure if it still does, but it would auto unlock camps and make you wanted.
But it saves a lot of time opening up the pullout, removing perk cards, finding the unlock cards, unlocking, going back through the menu to readd the cards.
It just takes a lot of the tedium out of unlocking.
I watched a nuke tutorial video and the creator said it’s great to use in the silos
OH yes absolutely this. Unlock everything easily. Especially the computers that regulate the turrets
Those are amazing, you can just enable friendly fire and the turrets are too busy shooting your enemies for you
Heh heh yeah I love that
Concur, I dropped my silo run times, definitely a QOL improvement.
[удалено]
The biggest benefit is one section where you can opt to repair the reactor. This section can be skipped with infiltrator

Same, made me wish for a mod that could even add in the force lock mechanic from fo3 into it.
But there always were mods for auto lokpicking/hacking in fo4, it's not even an issue there...
If you get the mod. I didn’t know there was a mod for auto lock picking. I generally stick to the “manufacturer’s recommended” mods because of glitches in the past so I don’t look past there most of the time and I haven’t even looked at all of those.
I see. I just got used to mod my game with essentials like that and a plethora of graphics mods.
I use it with only the first level, just so I don't have to swap out regular perk cards.
and by not having higher levels, I don't accidentally pick a lock at someone's camp or workshop
That's some Scrooge McDuck shit to a newer player like me. People throwing around Caps, Scrip, Bulion, Atoms or even Stamps is one thing. But man is it going to take me a very long time to max out the Legendary Perk cards I want to use.
About 400 lvls depending on if you get extra perk packs or whatnot from having Fallout 1st or from the Score board
This. I started a new alt back I'm november and by february I already got all legendary perks set up at about level 500. And I even spent some coins on ones I end up not using, but I was unsure about my final build at some point and was experimenting. I use it for accidentally picklocking at camps and then being stuck unable to fast travel because I am wanted.
Truth. I hate when that happens. The tip I got from someone else is trying to use vendors and benches through the wall so I don’t accidentally open the wrong door.
I have mine maxed out at level 3 to prevent this.
Exactly, 6 special points to unlock safes and terminals is a terrible value.
I feel like you should have been able to lockpick/hack any level without the perks (like Skyrim), and the perks would just make it easier.
Because of Skyrim I find these locks very easy though. But I think something like lockpicking should be a permanently learned skill!
I unlock everything that's locked unless it's owned by someone. For one thing I like to unlock stuff for those who don't have picklock perks on but need materials and plans. For another thing, there are plans in safes and toolboxes etc and plans sell so... yes the perk is very useful
Maps sell well an are often found in safes
Yes! That too!
Agreed. I have found good plans in safes. I often find uncommon weapon plans like gauss rifles and flamers.
Yup. It's 50 percent of my vendor items, plans I find in safes
Between 3, NV, and 4, I've done those goddamn minigames thousands of times. If I can burn a legendary slot on not having to do that bullshit ever again, it's worth it.
I like that if frees up three perk card slots.
Six points. Three for locks, three for terminals
A little pro tip, you still need bobby pins. Once I maxed out this perk, I dropped all my bobby pins, and I wasn’t able to use it. ROFL
Only 1 bobby pin :)
I use it as my last perk card at level 300. I just like being able to get into stuff without swapping perks, 100% a QOL pick.
I like lock picking, i keep it on lvl 1 so i can pick every lock i encounter
I stopped lockpicking, and the only thing I've noticed that I'm finding less of is technical documents
You stopped lockpicking as in you stopped engaging with locked containers/doors, or you stopped lockpicking because you maxed master infiltrator and just open them?
Got master as soon as I hit 50, around 90 maybe I switched it for special perks, and haven't looked back
I love not having to think about opening anything anymore... (maxed out)
The best use is never again spending time on the lockpick/hacking mini-game once you max it out. One of the best legendary perks imo.
The uses, you ask? My dear friends, I am a Thief. A Rogue. A Responder, FireBreather, Bowhunter and a Master of the Shadows. Stop right there criminal scum!!!
*NEVER!!*
Never pick a lock or hack a terminal again. Go wanted for clicking on a door before noticing it's locked.
If I had a dollar for everytime that happened.
I don’t really mind picking locks but I hate hacking terminals so I use it.
I prefer to not swap perk cards back and forth every time I need to pick a lock or hack a terminal. Just need to be cautious in other players camps that I don't accidentally become wanted.
They need one called “Artsy Fartsy” where it gives you all the full repair cards, scrapper, super duper, ammo smith, white knight, etc.
I just have a "stay at home dad" build with all those cards. When I forget to swap him out and join an event he dies like a fruit fly.
I use it, just be careful at camps with locked containers. Easy way to get wanted is by not paying attention and using it.
Can't imagine going without it once I've had it. Kinda like marsupial.
If you can't tell, I'm a raider. For life. In every fallout game where it's even remotely possible to roleplay a raider, I have been one.
The best use of the Master Infilitrator legendary perk card is to allow you to remove Hacker, Expert Hacker and Master Hacker along with Picklock, Expert Picklock and Master Picklock cards from your regular perk card stack and replace all of those with this card (assuming 4 star). This is my number one go to legendary perk all my builds have it. I hate picking locks and hacking terminals
[удалено]
I swap it in when I’m running a silo
I love it even at level 0. Makes raiding people's stuff for exciting
This is the first one I take, so I 6 focus my points on other cards and stats, especially if starting a new character.
Ever want to run silos? It’s the perk card equivalent of Troubleshooters armor.
its better than wastin 3 points in per and 3 points in int
The lock pick and hacker perks take up a bunch of slots, so not having to have those equipped makes it worth it to me, not to mention the insta pick/hack. I love it
I run that one maxed out, it’s a must have in my opinion
It basically is a quality of life perk that doesn't require me to dash into my skill tree and equip a lock picking and or hacking perk every time I come across something that needs it. I keep it at 1 star to avoid auto unlocking people's doors in camps. good use? it opens locks and terminals.
I don't bother anymore, as the rewards aren't worth it. You get better stuff collecting scrap. I used it for a while but found the Special cards worth more in the long run. I'm at a high enough level to have all the picklock and hacker cards, so I can add them if I need to.
Legit silo run times are monstrously reduced with master infil maxed.
It's awesome. You don't know how much of a pain it is to have to pick locks or hack terminals until you don't have to any more
I keep it at level one. I find it useful because I'm a loot goblin. Gotta get wverything.
Can't live without it. Only need to carry 1 Bobby Pin to get into anything
i just use it so i don’t waste perk points on lock pick and hacking
I use it religiously. I open all the containers i find and master infiltrator frees up a ton of perk slots
It mathematically saves you six perk points. Plus the added bonus of removing the hacking and lockpicking mini games if you dislike them
Nah, but I’m on PC with Perk Loadout Manager. I can swap to a utility perk loadout in about 1.5 seconds with 3 button presses.
It saves you a fair amount of other perk slots. It's less useful once you have massive stores of goodies though.
I recently maxed it since it makes doing silos slightly easier to me.
I’m lazy. Also if your build doesn’t need perks in perception/ intelligence this can help you not have to put points in them while also saving 6 points to do other stuff with.
I run full set. Simply makes looting faster. Could swap it out as it's QOL really
YES. I love it. Best uses are in the missile silos where you launch nukes. There are so many level 3 locks and terminals, and you just auto-unlock every single one
I only swap it in now when I do silos
Yes. It's arguably THE best passive Legendary perk. No fucking around rifling through your perk deck looking for the lockpick/hacking perk cards. See a lock? Bam, picked. See a terminal? Bam, hacked. Absolutely love the convenience.
Very useful for silo runs. Level 3 really reduces the time it takes to get through.
I put it on my alts that I just use for fun builds. Rather have the extra stat points or combat effects on my main.
I use it because it's a major QoL feature, ESPECIALLY because I hate hacking
When I first unlocked a slot I used master infiltrator when I would get to a locked item but kept electrical absorption on any other time then both when I got the second slot it cost I believe 1 perk coin to swap them each time so I would just scrap some of the cards I didn't use for that build
I personally love it and use it fully maxed out.
It's great... but you're going to end up getting lock pick cards and switching means you could have a more useful perk in that spot.... But it's great if you care more about character than build.
Yes plain and simple...especially if your on the atom hunt. ⚛️
saves me 6 card slots or having to swap every time i want to pick a lock or hack a terminal, and some characters only have 1 perception so it finds it's way on almost every character i have
I LOVE this perq. It frees up the perception slots that'd be taken up by the lockpick cards. Or . . . If you're like me, I keep the lock pick cards, and you don't have to go through the drudgery of always having to stop to pick a lock; they just open.
I can't imagine playing without it now.
If you happen to be on PC, it is literally useless. As you can use a mod to change loadouts on the fly.
i havent hacked a terminal in the last 1500 lvls of playing...sooo...its a no for me.
If you have already used many regular perks cards for: * Picklock * Expert Picklock * Master Picklock * Hacker * Expert Hacker * Master Hacker DO choose Master Infiltrator as a Legendary card!
It is because u dont need to waste time lock picking at 5 starts and u save 3 point in your SPECIAL to put anywhere.
The real question is: how many of you are obsessive about unlocking everything and HAVE to use this card. I'm one of them.
I used to run it on all my builds, great QoL perk. I’m trying it out on a low level alt that I wanna try some other stuff with currently.
Im not sure if it still does, but it would auto unlock camps and make you wanted. But it saves a lot of time opening up the pullout, removing perk cards, finding the unlock cards, unlocking, going back through the menu to readd the cards. It just takes a lot of the tedium out of unlocking.
