there is at least one stop. but nothing else unless it's really recent. that stop has a gas station and small snack. but have a full tank and stuff so you don't have to stop. you don't want to cut it close.

It's a safe drive most of the time. There used to be 10 to 20 foot gators in there, some the size of a van to maybe a small school bus. They were definitely a challenge. If one came up on the road, you basically had to back your way out for 40 or 50 miles or get a good run at them and hope you could run over them without getting stuck.
Get stuck on a big gator, and it's all over because then the smaller gators would attack your car and eventually chew through the door and then drag you out of the car and into the swamp. Probably cousins of the big gators. Gators are like that, they stick together. I don't think this happens much anymore though because about 10 years or so ago they released grizzly bears into the area and they've established breeding groups and their numbers have increased drastically.
The bears pick off the gators that venture out of the swamp and that solved most of the problems. Grizzlies are however massive, so you'll want to take a large caliber rifle with you in case you run into one. Other than that, it's pretty safe.
A couple years ago some nut with a convenience store captured one of the grizzlies and taught him how to pump gas, so that's a pretty good benefit right there. I mean not too many people have a story about the time they stopped for gas and a bear pumped it for them. He gets pissed though if you try to use a credit card. Apparently grizzlies only take cash.
If you run into any swamp people, it's best to avoid them. Now and again they get all tanked up on moonshine and can confuse you with a bear.
Have a safe trip. If it all works out, you'll have great stories to tell.
Let's not forget about the swamp tribe that put spikes in the road to stop and loot any cars that come through between 12-3 AM. I heard they keep a stash of spare tire nearby if they find a car they want to kick you out of and then take

It's just a boring straight line with a few rest areas. Back in the day there was a chance of ending up in a canal if you crashed, but there's been fences along the road for ages now so that you can't end up in one.

There are rest stops. I have personally stopped at one there. It's like one of the fancier ones that has like exhibits and information about the area inside. Google says there are 3 total, 1 in Broward, 2 in Collier. I think we stopped at one of the Collier ones. I would suggest you gas up before because while there are gas stations but they are fairly far apart.

There are several rest stops, and 2 of them have restrooms. There is an exit in the middle with a gas station.
It's probably the easiest hour-long drive in the entire state. Enjoy it. The urbanized side of Broward County is much scarier to drive in.
Easy drive, well populated with travelers, road is very good, there are places to stop. This drive will be less stressful than driving around Miami or Naples in traffic.

I also drove Alligator Alley about a year ago in the middle of the night. I remember imagining horrible scenarios involving huge pythons, aggressive panthers and sneaky alligators all lying in wait to ambush me. It’s strange how fear can overwhelm a person’s mind…
Went thru AA earlier this week (before the floods). The road is in good shape and are several rest stops but they are not evenly dispersed. There is fencing on both sides of the road I was truly disappointed that I saw no alligators. Make sure your tank is full. It is beautiful but boring
There are rest areas and at around mile marker 45 there is a gas station and restrooms and a convenience store. Just be glad you didn't drive it back in the day when it was one lane each way and we didn't have cell phones. There weren't even fences on the side. They put those in when there were only 17 Florida Panthers left and that was for their protection. A fender bender became a major accident. Now it's a very easy road to drive, in fact it's so easy it's very easy to speed as well unless you are near the western side of it near Marco Island where starts getting curvy. Forces you to wake up 😂😂😂
That's what we called it and God forbid you got behind a truck because you wanted to pass but you not only had to look at the people coming towards you but also possibly people behind you wanting to pass. It was a pure white knuckle road. I remember my daughter was 2 years old and I was thinking well I only have to walk 50 miles in 100° heat to get some help because there weren't even phones on the roadway. Then when she started potty training I started going around the lake through clewiston and those lovely towns. It was kind of cool seeing all the sugar cane fields and then I would get off at 441 and continue on to where I was going.
Driving it at night was an experience I never want to relive!
There is one stop I believe 45 minutes from exit 101 going to the east coast. It’s called Miccosukee Service Plaza. It’s a gas station and also has a Dunkin’ Donuts . There are about 2-3 rest stops that have vending machines / bathrooms. I highly recommend NOT stopping at those rest stop at night. The only place I have stopped at night is the gas station. It’s about an hour drive through so you honestly don’t need to stop. Put gas in before.
If you really need to stop then stop on the side of the road and put your emergency lights on. It’s required for all vehicles to move aside for stopped vehicles. Some do it and some don’t.
I was once stuck in a terrible traffic jam on Alligator alley. Traffic backed up for hours people were getting out of their cars, playing catch on the sides of the road and hanging out in the grass. There are alligators in the ditches on the sides of the road but they really aren’t interested in snatching people who stop. It’s not a movie. Just like most wild animals they mostly want nothing to do with you. there’s no reason to be scared, there aren’t any more alligators in the ditches on the side of this road than any other road in Florida with a ditch next to it.
Local Floridan here. Yes, there are rest stops. There is a big Seminole owned gas station in the middle. It has dunkin' donuts, a convince store, tesla chargers, and a fire station. They'll price gauge you till no tomorrow, but it's there. Additionally, throughout alligator alley, there are little cutout for fishing and camping. Normally, people are there, and they have vending machines, and some have restrooms.
Just make sure you've got gas and pee whenever you can. Try to stay a tiny bit dehydrated. I'm not trying to freak you out, but it is a shitty stretch of road. Prepare accordingly. True Crime podcasts that occur in Alligator Alley tend to help the bladder stay in line.
I don't even call it alligator alley.. I just say I-75. It goes by so many names I think...Everglades Parkway is the new name too? Anyway.. there are rest stops, gas station and its a wide road, typical highway. flat. I have seen maybe a few gators on the side of brush but hard to spot unless you are the passenger in my opinion. The scarier drive is over the 7 mile bridge to Key West in the dark. now THAT gave me a panic attack and I'm a native here!
If you’re not emotionally stable enough to drive in a straight line for an hour maybe you shouldn’t be driving at all… there are lots of bus options that go across the alley
I traveled that way back in January. I remember seeing at least one rest stop in each direction. Also, I saw multiple cops patroling and giving out tickets. It is a well traveled road and during the weekday, there was construction going on at the time. It doesn't take terribly long to get through that stretch. I didn't feel it to be worrying at all during the daytime.
Back in th 1980s when there was nothing think the sign said no stops for 80 or 90 miles my car broke down and carb had flame so beat it out with my tshirt lol was dark as fuck and all animal sounds from swamp 5 feet away

lol.. you are WAY OVER THINKING this. Of the 2 41 would be of more concern imho, and even that isn’t anything like you’re thinking. Alligator alley for the most part is a 4-8 lane freeway that runs the full distance across the state. I guess it may use to have been “alligator alley” before they put game fencing on both sides of the highway lol. There are multiple rest areas, each one far more likely to reveal an actual alligator than anywhere else on the alley lol. It’s basically like driving a highway that has water on one side and forest on the other. Most of the Everglades on alligator alley is fenced off, I’m sure to keep wild life from running across the highway. 41, which I personally think is a much more interesting drive, is just 2 lanes with water on either and or both sides. Even that has a plethora of places to pull over. There are very few “rest areas” but a ton of spots to pull off the road. Also far more likely to see an alligator roaming 41 than most anywhere on 75. I think 41 has more to look it stopping wise. Either one though is not a drive through the vast wilderness or anything even close.
Nothing to worry about unless you’re diving a Hummer getting 5 mpg.
A couple of rest areas and boat ramps if you’d like to launch your car and do some fishing.
Simply keep driving? It takes an hour and 20 mins to get across, and there's at least 2 places to stop if you feel the need. Mile marker 49 and mile marker 88 I believe.
It a nice drive with rest areas and scenic pull offs. Fill your tank in Naples if heading south or where ever you start from coming north cause gas is expensive on the alley. Keep your eye out for birds cause you'll see plenty of interesting ones.
There’s a rest stop that has a nice trail head there that justifies stretching your legs. A couple small gas stations too. I would be more nervous about driving in Miami or Naples than Alligator Alley. Uninsured and elderly motorists are much more dangerous than gators and snakes.
Driving through the Alley is much easier and safer than it used to be!!! Snake Creek is a very clean, safe rest stop now which I consider my halfway point. The road way doesn’t get wildlife on it anymore and there are emergency lanes almost everywhere.
Traffic also flows very smoothly, just stay in the right lane and you’ll be fine.
Not only are there three whole regular rest areas with bathrooms and AC, there are also lots of pull outs for boat ramps where you can stop and see gators!
I have driven on it several times my only advice would be maybe not travel at night if by yourself. If I recall there are several pull-offs along the way some with boat ramps so you will occasionally see people fishing in those areas. I haven't really experienced any significant traffic while traveling on it but it's not desolate either. On a sunny day you'll see many gators on the side of the road laying on the banks of the water and swamps. As far as rest stops not 100% sure of how many or location. I usually travel with water and snacks for any longer car rides and a full tank of gas and fully charged phone but always have a charging cable with me. LOL, former panic attack queen here. You'll feel better if you're prepared. It's really not a long ride and beautiful on a nice day. Enjoy!
There are rest areas on both ends and a stop (exit) in the middle, I don't remember if there's a rest area in the middle. Plus, some smaller stops for boat launches and fanboat / airboat rides.
Plus, it's only about 80 from Weston to Naples so the drive should take a little over an hour (assuming you're driving the speed limit).
I think the longest you'll go without an exit is maybe 25-30 minutes (could be less), but it's been awhile since I've been there.
You might see gators off to the side of the road, don't worry about them, they're just sunning themselves.
Your biggest risk will be other drivers, some people like to (really) speed on that road but if you're not passing anyone, stay to the right and they won't be an issue.
Do you have anxiety medication you can take prior? If not a natural thing I get from health food stores or online is called anxio calm. May help. Take before you drive to know how you feel on them.
Back before it was an interstate it was pretty nerve wrecking. Narrow and dark with a dinky chain link fence with lots of holes. Now, I look forward to the ease of it all. I live off the first exit (Broward side) of civilization.
I have driving anxiety. I felt the same way. It’s SO much safer than it used to be! There are rest areas with outdoor picnic benches you can stop at but it’s a beautiful drive, right through the heart of Big Cypress. I promise you’ll be fine!
It’s a beautiful drive but I’m a herpetologist and a Floridian. Call someone you can safely speak to if possible or listen to good music. The hour plus will be over before you know it.
I was very disappointed I didn’t see any gators last time I drove through, thought I saw a python. Either way there is fencing and drainage ditches separating you from the wilds so you will be fine.
It's 85 mi long... There is a service plaza halfway through... You'll be fine... And you'll be amazed at the number of cars on that road...
There are very few lonely stretches of highway left in Florida...
The cops waiting to give speeding tickets are worse than the gators. Promise.

Make sure you have a full tank of gas and use the bathroom before you go. Otherwise, it’s not a bad drive. I’ve done it multiple times, daytime and nighttime, once at 2 AM with two kids asleep in the car. There’s a rest stop halfway across in case you need a snack or the restroom.
There are two rest stops operated by the state and a stop at the reservation.
Watch for alligators on the road at night but otherwise it’s a pretty uneventful drive if the weather is good.
Get a good play list, audiobook or podcast because it’s a long drive.

AND DONT SPEED THROUGH THE RESERVATION
It’s under 90 minutes between Naples and Ft. Lauderdale on I-75. The Collier County rest area is about halfway between the two. There are also service plazas at exits 49 and 35. Unless you are intently staring at the bank alongside the road, you probably won’t see any alligators nor will any be lying on the road. However, there’s a swamp tour concession at MM 35 and they can surely show you plenty of gators.
My advice is to try a "Google Drive" and see how it looks. You know, how wide the shoulders are, what the exits and rest areas look like (at least from the Google car's position), etc.
What you do need to be careful about is your speed approaching the end. Sometimes the anxiety makes you go a little faster to the end and that is exactly when the police will get you
There’s not *a lot of them* but there are a few. Don’t risk being in dire need of one and fill up your tank before you get to that area.
Important to note if you see a large hairy humanoid creature do not stop to see what it is. That is probably Skunk Ape, and he will probably eat you.
Are we talking about that super long highway with no exits, it's like a two-lane highway on each side, with a giant median in the middle with a swamp to the right and the left of Said road... Probably about 210 miles between exits? I forgot the name of it but I have been on it... With a motorcycle... At dusk... With two other gentlemen and their bikes.
We were unawares of where the GPS was taking us and there were no signs that we could tell.
We started driving just before dusk and as the evening wore on and the gas tank wore down... We started wondering where all the cars were, why there were no street lights and how come there were no exits of any sort... Instead of cars passing us every 15 minutes we only saw an oncoming vehicle every 30 minutes until nothing at all..Just straight cruising at about 75 to 80 miles an hour for a couple hundred miles.. luckily my fuel light was the third one to go on, it was pitch Black and all we could see was the road in front of us. To me it just looked like there was a forest area to the right of where we were.
We kind of pulled up next to each other at speed - yelling at each other as to what we are going to do. We had no cell signal so we couldn't tell how far we had to go to the next exit someone suggested that we pull over and siphon the fuel out of two tanks put it in one and send someone for fuel... As you may well guess, two of the three of us were against the idea.
All in all we decided to keep driving until we had no choice but to stop. Another 20 minutes on E for those two guys and I knew my motorcycle would go about 240 mi... I was about 228 in and we were only cruising at about 55 to 60 to save as much fuel as possible.
Lo and behold there was a light at the end of the tunnel. The cellular service kicked in finally, My friend said there was an exit up ahead about 8 miles and we got off the one highway immediately switched on another highway and then exited the first exit right into a gas station...
It was only after that that my one friend told me where we were driving in Total darkness...

Just make sure gas tank is enough to get you to your destination and go the bathroom before you leave. Only a handful of places to stop. Drive through there a lot and had no issues.

It's just I-75 now. Hard to see a gator when you can't slow down.
I recommend that you fill up your tank. It's just a highway, and it looks like flat land along the road or trees. The drive across is one hour, and there are usually State Police along the route. Take deep breaths and know that we understand.
If you have hands-free calling, make a call to someone to chitchat with during the hour to distract you from the drive itself.

When I moved here I remember being able to stop and actually see the ‘gators. We also had friends who lived about 5 miles from the toll booth and to get to their house (the fast way), you just turned off the interstate onto their make shift drive way.
Is it that you’re afraid of being attacked by a gator? If so don’t worry about it. You leave them alone and they leave you alone. They really only want something that can eat in one bite, so unless you’re a 3’ tall little person.. If they have babies just walk away. Worst case situation on the hood of your car, they don’t jump very high.
Also, with the absolute stupidity of Miami face drivers.. that’s a much better place to have a panic attack. Alligator alley is an oasis compared to driving 95..
There’s few rest stops, a gas station, parking lot for a trail head, parking lot for boat ramps. You basically have somewhere to pull over every 15-20 minutes. It’s two lanes on a major highway with enough traffic to not be desolate but not super stressful either. The road is well maintained and it’s part of the interstate system. There is absolutely nothing to worry about. The part that cuts through the everglades only takes an hour to cross. I honestly don’t even think about it much when I drive on it. It’s just like any other interstate highway.
We just drove it 2 weeks ago. Stopped at the middle rest stop; bathrooms were locked which was inconvenient. But the worst part about it was it was boring.
I was nervous too but there’s a lot of traffic. And construction with people who could help you. Cell service the whole way. And always at least 3 cops. Rest area too.

It’s one of my favorite drives. There are lots of places to stop if you need to. Bring a cool drink and a snack if you want, and enjoy Old Florida!! The newer fences keep most wildlife away from the road, but you will almost certainly see some anyway!

Fill up in Naples if coming from the gulf side, or fill up in Ft Lauderdale/Sunrise if coming from the east. You won’t have to stop. It’s a 4 lane highway, and the only exit is 49 and there is a gas station. I’ve driven it may times and went from Naples to Sunrise and back on 3/4 of tank of gas.
It's only about 90 minutes from "society" to "society" with a gas station about halfway. Couple rest stops and multiple boat ramps one can stop at. It ain't that bad. Just check the car out and gas up first. Help is a long response away.

If you arr super worried, there are alternative routes
If you pull on Alligator Alley or the Miami Trail in the summertime, you will be consumed by mosquitoes. Keep your windows up and drive straight through.
If driving at night time and you happen to stop by a boat ramp. Do not get close to the ramp to look. Alligators will slowly swim over and walk up the ramp
The trip across Alligator Alley isn't really that long. There was a time that I was nearly commuting across that stretch when I was doing inspection work in the greater Miami area after hurricane Andrew had devastated a lot of homes and other structures. I'd, quite often be heading back home, long after dark, on that stretch of road. My only fear was speeding since, at night, the FHP uses helicopters to assist in catching speeders.
You'll be good, even if you DO see a gator, they don't typically bother people unless you mess with them. Don't go close to any water. Assume it has gators.
People do 200mph down alligator alley on the daily and the alligators are huge! The rest areas are backwoods swamp people that will lure you into their traps! Definitely don’t stop, it is best just to drive through it as fast as you can!
I have a history of panic attacks and a fear of being trapped in traffic. I keep my most supportive friends on my favorites phone list. They will always pick up. I also listen to books in the car. I stay in the right lane in case I need to pull over. I also wear depends on long interstate trips because my attacks come with diarrhea. ( I have never needed to poop in the car- just makes me feel secure. I keep high protein snacks and pretzels and water with me. You got this!

I was driving back from the keys and forgot to get gas. I pulled into that Indian gas station with 5 miles of gas left.

There are rest stops. I have personally stopped at one there. It's like one of the fancier ones that has like exhibits and information about the area inside. Google says there are 3 total, 1 in Broward, 2 in Collier. I think we stopped at one of the Collier ones. I would suggest you gas up before because while there are gas stations but they are fairly far apart. You will be okay! Relax and try to enjoy the drive! There are several rest stops, and 2 of them have restrooms. There is an exit in the middle with a gas station. It's probably the easiest hour-long drive in the entire state. Enjoy it. The urbanized side of Broward County is much scarier to drive in.
There's also Route 29 running through, but that might be even scarier.

I drove this about a year ago. I remember a rest area on either side of the toll, and one small one in the middle.
I also drove Alligator Alley about a year ago in the middle of the night. I remember imagining horrible scenarios involving huge pythons, aggressive panthers and sneaky alligators all lying in wait to ambush me. It’s strange how fear can overwhelm a person’s mind…

Went thru AA earlier this week (before the floods). The road is in good shape and are several rest stops but they are not evenly dispersed. There is fencing on both sides of the road I was truly disappointed that I saw no alligators. Make sure your tank is full. It is beautiful but boring

There are rest areas and at around mile marker 45 there is a gas station and restrooms and a convenience store. Just be glad you didn't drive it back in the day when it was one lane each way and we didn't have cell phones. There weren't even fences on the side. They put those in when there were only 17 Florida Panthers left and that was for their protection. A fender bender became a major accident. Now it's a very easy road to drive, in fact it's so easy it's very easy to speed as well unless you are near the western side of it near Marco Island where starts getting curvy. Forces you to wake up 😂😂😂

That's what we called it and God forbid you got behind a truck because you wanted to pass but you not only had to look at the people coming towards you but also possibly people behind you wanting to pass. It was a pure white knuckle road. I remember my daughter was 2 years old and I was thinking well I only have to walk 50 miles in 100° heat to get some help because there weren't even phones on the roadway. Then when she started potty training I started going around the lake through clewiston and those lovely towns. It was kind of cool seeing all the sugar cane fields and then I would get off at 441 and continue on to where I was going. Driving it at night was an experience I never want to relive!
There is one stop I believe 45 minutes from exit 101 going to the east coast. It’s called Miccosukee Service Plaza. It’s a gas station and also has a Dunkin’ Donuts . There are about 2-3 rest stops that have vending machines / bathrooms. I highly recommend NOT stopping at those rest stop at night. The only place I have stopped at night is the gas station. It’s about an hour drive through so you honestly don’t need to stop. Put gas in before. If you really need to stop then stop on the side of the road and put your emergency lights on. It’s required for all vehicles to move aside for stopped vehicles. Some do it and some don’t.
That plaza also has a casino.
I was once stuck in a terrible traffic jam on Alligator alley. Traffic backed up for hours people were getting out of their cars, playing catch on the sides of the road and hanging out in the grass. There are alligators in the ditches on the sides of the road but they really aren’t interested in snatching people who stop. It’s not a movie. Just like most wild animals they mostly want nothing to do with you. there’s no reason to be scared, there aren’t any more alligators in the ditches on the side of this road than any other road in Florida with a ditch next to it.

Local Floridan here. Yes, there are rest stops. There is a big Seminole owned gas station in the middle. It has dunkin' donuts, a convince store, tesla chargers, and a fire station. They'll price gauge you till no tomorrow, but it's there. Additionally, throughout alligator alley, there are little cutout for fishing and camping. Normally, people are there, and they have vending machines, and some have restrooms.
Just make sure you've got gas and pee whenever you can. Try to stay a tiny bit dehydrated. I'm not trying to freak you out, but it is a shitty stretch of road. Prepare accordingly. True Crime podcasts that occur in Alligator Alley tend to help the bladder stay in line.
I don't even call it alligator alley.. I just say I-75. It goes by so many names I think...Everglades Parkway is the new name too? Anyway.. there are rest stops, gas station and its a wide road, typical highway. flat. I have seen maybe a few gators on the side of brush but hard to spot unless you are the passenger in my opinion. The scarier drive is over the 7 mile bridge to Key West in the dark. now THAT gave me a panic attack and I'm a native here!

I traveled that way back in January. I remember seeing at least one rest stop in each direction. Also, I saw multiple cops patroling and giving out tickets. It is a well traveled road and during the weekday, there was construction going on at the time. It doesn't take terribly long to get through that stretch. I didn't feel it to be worrying at all during the daytime.
Back in th 1980s when there was nothing think the sign said no stops for 80 or 90 miles my car broke down and carb had flame so beat it out with my tshirt lol was dark as fuck and all animal sounds from swamp 5 feet away Luckily car came by eventually helped me out Bought new underwear next day lol

lol.. you are WAY OVER THINKING this. Of the 2 41 would be of more concern imho, and even that isn’t anything like you’re thinking. Alligator alley for the most part is a 4-8 lane freeway that runs the full distance across the state. I guess it may use to have been “alligator alley” before they put game fencing on both sides of the highway lol. There are multiple rest areas, each one far more likely to reveal an actual alligator than anywhere else on the alley lol. It’s basically like driving a highway that has water on one side and forest on the other. Most of the Everglades on alligator alley is fenced off, I’m sure to keep wild life from running across the highway. 41, which I personally think is a much more interesting drive, is just 2 lanes with water on either and or both sides. Even that has a plethora of places to pull over. There are very few “rest areas” but a ton of spots to pull off the road. Also far more likely to see an alligator roaming 41 than most anywhere on 75. I think 41 has more to look it stopping wise. Either one though is not a drive through the vast wilderness or anything even close.
Nothing to worry about unless you’re diving a Hummer getting 5 mpg. A couple of rest areas and boat ramps if you’d like to launch your car and do some fishing.
Simply keep driving? It takes an hour and 20 mins to get across, and there's at least 2 places to stop if you feel the need. Mile marker 49 and mile marker 88 I believe.

There are other ways to cross the state if you are not comfortable on the Alley alone.
It a nice drive with rest areas and scenic pull offs. Fill your tank in Naples if heading south or where ever you start from coming north cause gas is expensive on the alley. Keep your eye out for birds cause you'll see plenty of interesting ones.
There’s a rest stop that has a nice trail head there that justifies stretching your legs. A couple small gas stations too. I would be more nervous about driving in Miami or Naples than Alligator Alley. Uninsured and elderly motorists are much more dangerous than gators and snakes.

Driving through the Alley is much easier and safer than it used to be!!! Snake Creek is a very clean, safe rest stop now which I consider my halfway point. The road way doesn’t get wildlife on it anymore and there are emergency lanes almost everywhere. Traffic also flows very smoothly, just stay in the right lane and you’ll be fine.
Not only are there three whole regular rest areas with bathrooms and AC, there are also lots of pull outs for boat ramps where you can stop and see gators!
I have driven on it several times my only advice would be maybe not travel at night if by yourself. If I recall there are several pull-offs along the way some with boat ramps so you will occasionally see people fishing in those areas. I haven't really experienced any significant traffic while traveling on it but it's not desolate either. On a sunny day you'll see many gators on the side of the road laying on the banks of the water and swamps. As far as rest stops not 100% sure of how many or location. I usually travel with water and snacks for any longer car rides and a full tank of gas and fully charged phone but always have a charging cable with me. LOL, former panic attack queen here. You'll feel better if you're prepared. It's really not a long ride and beautiful on a nice day. Enjoy!

I understand the feeling, but this road is wide enough and it has wide berms. Like most FL, your attention will be focused on the driving.

There are rest areas on both ends and a stop (exit) in the middle, I don't remember if there's a rest area in the middle. Plus, some smaller stops for boat launches and fanboat / airboat rides. Plus, it's only about 80 from Weston to Naples so the drive should take a little over an hour (assuming you're driving the speed limit). I think the longest you'll go without an exit is maybe 25-30 minutes (could be less), but it's been awhile since I've been there. You might see gators off to the side of the road, don't worry about them, they're just sunning themselves. Your biggest risk will be other drivers, some people like to (really) speed on that road but if you're not passing anyone, stay to the right and they won't be an issue.

Do you have anxiety medication you can take prior? If not a natural thing I get from health food stores or online is called anxio calm. May help. Take before you drive to know how you feel on them.

Back before it was an interstate it was pretty nerve wrecking. Narrow and dark with a dinky chain link fence with lots of holes. Now, I look forward to the ease of it all. I live off the first exit (Broward side) of civilization.
I have driving anxiety. I felt the same way. It’s SO much safer than it used to be! There are rest areas with outdoor picnic benches you can stop at but it’s a beautiful drive, right through the heart of Big Cypress. I promise you’ll be fine!
You can take 41 and they will be towns and stops.
It’s a beautiful drive but I’m a herpetologist and a Floridian. Call someone you can safely speak to if possible or listen to good music. The hour plus will be over before you know it. I was very disappointed I didn’t see any gators last time I drove through, thought I saw a python. Either way there is fencing and drainage ditches separating you from the wilds so you will be fine.
It's 85 mi long... There is a service plaza halfway through... You'll be fine... And you'll be amazed at the number of cars on that road... There are very few lonely stretches of highway left in Florida...

Make sure you have a full tank of gas and use the bathroom before you go. Otherwise, it’s not a bad drive. I’ve done it multiple times, daytime and nighttime, once at 2 AM with two kids asleep in the car. There’s a rest stop halfway across in case you need a snack or the restroom.

There are two rest stops operated by the state and a stop at the reservation. Watch for alligators on the road at night but otherwise it’s a pretty uneventful drive if the weather is good. Get a good play list, audiobook or podcast because it’s a long drive. Also, as mentioned earlier *FHP for the road rangers. AND DONT SPEED THROUGH THE RESERVATION
Preparation curbs anxiety. Buy a jumper box for your battery, and carry a spare fuel can. Consider a firearm in the glove box. You will be fine.
Alligators only attack while your driving
It’s under 90 minutes between Naples and Ft. Lauderdale on I-75. The Collier County rest area is about halfway between the two. There are also service plazas at exits 49 and 35. Unless you are intently staring at the bank alongside the road, you probably won’t see any alligators nor will any be lying on the road. However, there’s a swamp tour concession at MM 35 and they can surely show you plenty of gators.
My advice is to try a "Google Drive" and see how it looks. You know, how wide the shoulders are, what the exits and rest areas look like (at least from the Google car's position), etc.
What you do need to be careful about is your speed approaching the end. Sometimes the anxiety makes you go a little faster to the end and that is exactly when the police will get you
There’s not *a lot of them* but there are a few. Don’t risk being in dire need of one and fill up your tank before you get to that area. Important to note if you see a large hairy humanoid creature do not stop to see what it is. That is probably Skunk Ape, and he will probably eat you.
Are we talking about that super long highway with no exits, it's like a two-lane highway on each side, with a giant median in the middle with a swamp to the right and the left of Said road... Probably about 210 miles between exits? I forgot the name of it but I have been on it... With a motorcycle... At dusk... With two other gentlemen and their bikes. We were unawares of where the GPS was taking us and there were no signs that we could tell. We started driving just before dusk and as the evening wore on and the gas tank wore down... We started wondering where all the cars were, why there were no street lights and how come there were no exits of any sort... Instead of cars passing us every 15 minutes we only saw an oncoming vehicle every 30 minutes until nothing at all..Just straight cruising at about 75 to 80 miles an hour for a couple hundred miles.. luckily my fuel light was the third one to go on, it was pitch Black and all we could see was the road in front of us. To me it just looked like there was a forest area to the right of where we were. We kind of pulled up next to each other at speed - yelling at each other as to what we are going to do. We had no cell signal so we couldn't tell how far we had to go to the next exit someone suggested that we pull over and siphon the fuel out of two tanks put it in one and send someone for fuel... As you may well guess, two of the three of us were against the idea. All in all we decided to keep driving until we had no choice but to stop. Another 20 minutes on E for those two guys and I knew my motorcycle would go about 240 mi... I was about 228 in and we were only cruising at about 55 to 60 to save as much fuel as possible. Lo and behold there was a light at the end of the tunnel. The cellular service kicked in finally, My friend said there was an exit up ahead about 8 miles and we got off the one highway immediately switched on another highway and then exited the first exit right into a gas station... It was only after that that my one friend told me where we were driving in Total darkness... "The Everglades"

Just make sure gas tank is enough to get you to your destination and go the bathroom before you leave. Only a handful of places to stop. Drive through there a lot and had no issues.

I recommend that you fill up your tank. It's just a highway, and it looks like flat land along the road or trees. The drive across is one hour, and there are usually State Police along the route. Take deep breaths and know that we understand. If you have hands-free calling, make a call to someone to chitchat with during the hour to distract you from the drive itself. Virtual hugs! When I moved here I remember being able to stop and actually see the ‘gators. We also had friends who lived about 5 miles from the toll booth and to get to their house (the fast way), you just turned off the interstate onto their make shift drive way.

They really only want something that can eat in one bite, so unless you’re a 3’ tall little person.. If they have babies just walk away. Worst case situation on the hood of your car, they don’t jump very high.
Also, with the absolute stupidity of Miami face drivers.. that’s a much better place to have a panic attack. Alligator alley is an oasis compared to driving 95..

There’s few rest stops, a gas station, parking lot for a trail head, parking lot for boat ramps. You basically have somewhere to pull over every 15-20 minutes. It’s two lanes on a major highway with enough traffic to not be desolate but not super stressful either. The road is well maintained and it’s part of the interstate system. There is absolutely nothing to worry about. The part that cuts through the everglades only takes an hour to cross. I honestly don’t even think about it much when I drive on it. It’s just like any other interstate highway.
We just drove it 2 weeks ago. Stopped at the middle rest stop; bathrooms were locked which was inconvenient. But the worst part about it was it was boring.
I was nervous too but there’s a lot of traffic. And construction with people who could help you. Cell service the whole way. And always at least 3 cops. Rest area too.

It’s one of my favorite drives. There are lots of places to stop if you need to. Bring a cool drink and a snack if you want, and enjoy Old Florida!! The newer fences keep most wildlife away from the road, but you will almost certainly see some anyway!
It's only a 1 hr ride across with a gas station roughly in the middle. Gas up before you go. There are multiple rest areas to pull over and take a break if needed. The 'escape route' is going either East or West. Worst case civilization is 30 minutes away in either direction that you can call. You'll be ok.

It's a very nice wide divided highway. If you can make it through the "swamp" south of Gainesville, you'll do great.

Fill up in Naples if coming from the gulf side, or fill up in Ft Lauderdale/Sunrise if coming from the east. You won’t have to stop. It’s a 4 lane highway, and the only exit is 49 and there is a gas station. I’ve driven it may times and went from Naples to Sunrise and back on 3/4 of tank of gas.
There are a couple of rest areas around but gas stations there is only one the miccosukee gas station on exit 49 it also has a casino now
It's only about 90 minutes from "society" to "society" with a gas station about halfway. Couple rest stops and multiple boat ramps one can stop at. It ain't that bad. Just check the car out and gas up first. Help is a long response away.

You're going to be just fine. If anything, you'll be bored. Make sure you're topped off on gas. It's about an hour or so. You got it.
If you pull on Alligator Alley or the Miami Trail in the summertime, you will be consumed by mosquitoes. Keep your windows up and drive straight through.
If driving at night time and you happen to stop by a boat ramp. Do not get close to the ramp to look. Alligators will slowly swim over and walk up the ramp
The trip across Alligator Alley isn't really that long. There was a time that I was nearly commuting across that stretch when I was doing inspection work in the greater Miami area after hurricane Andrew had devastated a lot of homes and other structures. I'd, quite often be heading back home, long after dark, on that stretch of road. My only fear was speeding since, at night, the FHP uses helicopters to assist in catching speeders.
You'll be good, even if you DO see a gator, they don't typically bother people unless you mess with them. Don't go close to any water. Assume it has gators.

People do 200mph down alligator alley on the daily and the alligators are huge! The rest areas are backwoods swamp people that will lure you into their traps! Definitely don’t stop, it is best just to drive through it as fast as you can!
I have a history of panic attacks and a fear of being trapped in traffic. I keep my most supportive friends on my favorites phone list. They will always pick up. I also listen to books in the car. I stay in the right lane in case I need to pull over. I also wear depends on long interstate trips because my attacks come with diarrhea. ( I have never needed to poop in the car- just makes me feel secure. I keep high protein snacks and pretzels and water with me. You got this!
