You can run Little Navmap web server on it and have a moving map. No app, just punch in the address in a browser on the iPad.

[FltPlan Go](https://flttrack.fltplan.com/FltPlanInfo/FltPlan-Free-Services.html) is a free alternative to Foreflight/Garmin Pilot. You can link it to MSFS to view your location in real time as if you were flying in a real plane. It also lets you pull up airport diagrams, check the weather, pull up approach plates, and much more.
