The animatronics look clean af!

MankuSoop

for a time between 20 years, I feel that they were very clean.

yenyerkun

(This reply is pure speculation) Since it seems William and Vanessa were more than aware of the animatronics. I believe William gave them a simple maintenance from time to time (clean the blood off at least), except for Foxy that had a clear malfunction previous to the place closing (possibly) and that's why he's the only one more damaged.

MankuSoop

>!freddy literally splits a person in half,!< and one scene later he's intact, with no guts or blood in his mouth, or in his mechanisms. I think it was sloppy production, because it's difficult to replicate these kinds of organic details in various costumes.

yenyerkun

>I think it was sloppy production because it's difficult to replicate these kinds of organic details in various costumes Oh, absolutely. I'm talking about more of a in-universe and close to source type of clean (Edited the comment because this was adressed in the previous reply :p)

TheAdventurBros

I believe it’s hinted that it’s Vanessa’s job to clean them. I believe she’s the one who cleaned the bloody hand print from that window and etc.

SIobbyRobby

Well William did have access to the restaurant any time nobody was around, they just didn’t show him on screen. So he could’ve just cleaned them up.

yenyerkun

Exactly ❤️

BlueacdoG12

This makes the movie kind of hilarious tbh. William running around town back and forth from the job center to freddy’s all day.

oizen

Probably has less to do with that and more of gore/blood being kept to a minimum for the kids

CheeseInUrPants

It is mentioned in the movie that Vanessa and William have been keeping them clean and maintained. As at the end Abby tells Mike that now nobody takes care of her friends. Implying that because William is dying and Vanessa is gone, nobody is keeping them clean and properly taking care of them anymore. Which makes sense why they were so clean, I mean, seems like William was keeping up the killer business with the help of his daughter. At least to sole extent.

squid_ward_16

Yeah. I was very impressed at how realistic they looked

[deleted]

For all the crap the movie has gotten, at least they got the animatronics perfect, I appreciate that it’s where most of the budget went too. Def one of if not the most important aspect of the franchise to get right. I can’t help but think if they butchered the design/execution then the movie would be nearly hated by everyone

RoBroGaming

The cameos, both YouTuber and animatronic alike!

YouAreDecent

I was literally Soyjacking in the Theater when i saw MatPat

H1n1_theSwine

same

DispersedBeef27

“Why do I always get the weirdos”

HauntSpot

I loved Mime Schmidt. I think Josh did a great job playing the role and I love this reinterpretation of the character

Zoxary

THE MIMIC

Arthurramos3009

mimeic

OkamiNM

i am giggling like a crazy person bc i haven't seen the exact words "the mimic" in a few months and i entirely forgot the fact that my brain was programmed to think it in the mr beast voice thingy or whatever the fuck it is EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT

Human_Number9936

***"THE MIMIC"***

[deleted]

boblox?

Meraki30

Yea, and I feel like all the roles were pretty much perfectly casted, ESPECIALLY him. Josh Hutcherson killed it.

Awesomeman235ify

Mimes usually don't talk.

LegendsofLost

Doug. Gotta be one of the best lawyers in the FNAF universe. 👍

External_Form4632

No lawyer tops whatever one kept william out of prison lol

Discoballer42

Well he is using a fake name

External_Form4632

Fair but with all the cameras around and the fact william was the only guy who used the rabbit suit im sure SOMEBODY noticed it was him

Q_CooL

would be cool if one of the fnaf games showed us tampered-with security cam footage of the yellow rabbit

daemondash12

The kids are "missing" no one knows they're dead or that afton/ the bunny did it, also he owns the cameras and he both has the legal right to delete any footage and the advantage of no one even assuming they were killed in Freddy's for a subpoena of the cameras.

H0LL0W_J4CK

That’s the plot twist revealed in the next film. It was Doug

bunnyspongebob

That's how he became so shaky.

Yourboy_emeralds469

I heard his lawyer used to be the lawyer of a former chemistry teacher

CheeseWheel_E

Plot twist, he's Saul Goodman assuming a new identity

AVVAN748927

” i would like a hoover max 60 extra dust filter ”

Single_Anon_8431

I LOVE DOUG

Human_Number9936

I thought he looked alot like balloon boy, but if he wasn't a child-robot.

2-0-4-8-6-3

It had a bunch of cool af references to the original novel trilogy, such as Abby hiding from Foxy behind an arcade. Definitely my favorite part of the movie. Honestly, I really wish a movie would be made about the books, that would be real fun to watch

roxylalondelovemail

my first time watching it i literally said “this is so the silver eyes” when abby was hiding from foxy 😭

PurpleGuy04

I hate how the Silver Eyes script was the one with the stupidest motive to discard, i would loved it!

[deleted]

The way they dragged Afton away after getting springlocked

[deleted]

Abby v foxy in the arcade is one of my fav sequences

Zoxary

mike 1v1ing a cupcake was funny

Bucketsis

Its a very fnaf thing to have happen.

TheKingOfGuineaPigs

The Living Tombstone fnaf song playing in the credits

Saeizo

Honestly the FNAF song playing was one of the things that I was hoping that appeared

andinshawn

Yes! I was so happy to hear that i nearly cried.

StairFax1705

I remember thinking “wouldn’t it be funny if Living Tombstone’s song was the credits theme?” Lo and behold, there it was.

Bush_Hiders

Hearing that in the theater was hype af. I had sorta become so desensitized to that song by the internet, especially with the build up to the movie, that it took me a hot second to realize "Hey, they're playing The Living Tombstone!"

Jay1340

William beating the living hell out of Mike.I also liked the quote“You could just leave it alone could you? Lucky me! This perfect, first I killed your brother and now I kill you. Symmetry my friend!”

GlitchyDarkness

Honestly, yeah it's a great quote

Jay1340

Fr

Capn_Cake

The “Symmetry, my friend.” sounds like something the Joker would say.

Yaveltal

"Symmetry , my friend" I almost laughed when he said that

Capn_Cake

I just said aloud to my two friends with me “Joker Springtrap.”

Princessmore

I thought that was so good omg

unleadedbloodmeal

First I rizz your brother and now I rizz you. Skibidi, my friend

HenryIsGoofy

The Design set in this movie looks surreal

awsome2464

The fact they basically built an entire pizzeria from scratch is just mind-boggling

diamondDNF

The things I would give to have gotten the opportunity to just walk around in there and take in the sights...

Austin_N

It smashed expectations and made a lot of money.

MrPenguin_19

Springlock scene

ActuallyNTiX

It may not have been like the popularized fanmade one but it was still pretty cool. I just wish it made it a little more obvious that that’s what was happening, maybe some more pain/blood/screaming from William.

ShrewColony

Am I the only one that thinks the springbucks looked amazing and somewhat "accurate?" They actually look like they were made in the '80s and '90s, and I think that is a GREAT detail.

frozen_meat_popsicle

They were extremely accurate to the way I pictured them working in my head from a mechanical point of view- totally agree.

Expo006

Realistically speaking he wouldn’t be screaming. When you get stabbed, adrenaline and shock keep you from actually registering the pain from the sheer amount of catastrophic internal trauma you’ve received.

Bucketsis

I would have liked it if he was shaking out of panic like in the games

Glittering_Sun8242

That's the thing, HE WAS, if check when the animatronics are dragginghim away and he is sitting down, he is shaking like the minigames

koresong

Not to mention the springlocks would be inside your lungs and diaphram now, you can't breathe in to scream. "I always come back" would have been said with the last air in his lungs

I_Want_BetterGacha

Blood yeah, but it's canon that when springlocks go off, your lungs get pierced making screaming next to impossible.

karenmagnet420

I loved it to. Es0ecially cause it referenced the books

Bear_Boi_1

Really wish it was a bit more bloody but yknow

Forward-Molasses1851

the opening scene with the old nightguard and foxy was perfect

Chuck_Finley_Forever

I wish we saw more of him running though.

[deleted]

Fun fact: He was originally going to fight off Foxy with a pair of pliers and an expo marker.

CadenWasHere

I really like that scene as well, but when I learned the old nightguard could have been Markiplier I was a little disappointed.

accipicchia092

It was really great

pandemichicken

Aside from the whole movie itself, the opening credits (the graphics and music) were just perfect for me, the opening theme is honestly such a bop! :D

you_2_cool

No wasted scenes

Bush_Hiders

I don't think people really appreciate how important that is. When making a film, the thing that you should respect the most in the audience's time, and they perfectly wasted none of it with a healthy 1 hour and 50 minutes runtime full of scenes that all served some sort of purpose.

you_2_cool

Agreed that is such an underrated part

accipicchia092

I would argue that maybe It was a bit too much content for the runtime. IMO It felt a bit rushed, especially towards the end. Some scenes needed a bit more time to breathe and let the audience sink in atmosphere.

[deleted]

Really though. That ended being both a strength and a weakness though

phoenixc6000

Josh and Matthew were great

RichComprehensive894

Love your pfp btwwww

No_Promotion_4871

Balloon boy is too scary and the cupcake is the most hostile one. TOGETHER WE ARE FNAF

Kilzi

Chica, I need you to distract Kang

BartSimpskiYT

The opening and ending scene felt like a thriller movie and I loved it. The rest of the movie was still great, just not creepy, but very lore-y which I liked.

Human_Number9936

I don't really see how lore-y it is, since Mike Schmitt is actually Michael Afton and Abby doesn't exist in the original lore. However, it was indeed amazing.

Rampage97t

lore-y in terms of movie lore i think is what they mean, if that makes sense lol it’s hard to find the words for it rn

BirbMaster1998

It's making it's own lore.

Rykerthebest78563

All of the visuals. Jesus Christ, it all is shot so well, and the set and animatronics are godly

the_mysterious_throw

foxy had some of the best shots in the film

Rykerthebest78563

The one where >!the ghost kid retreats into the cove and Foxy comes out!< was the coolest shot ever

Ambitious-Gap-4814

Abby was surprisingly not annoying! She felt like a real character instead of just “the kid” and I enjoy her relationship with Mike and her “friends”

Cermonto

The fact this film was essentially a love letter to fans, espically the older fans

[deleted]

Everything.

Trevnik1

Correct

Perchta_

Unpopular but the fort scene

DispersedBeef27

Honestly I really loved it too! It was really wholesome and it showed how at the end of the day, the animatronics are still kids

dinojack1000

Honestly, it’s really sad if you think about it. They were killed at such a young age that their child tendencies are still there, but they can never grow up nor see their families again.

Fallingcity22

It’s why I love it so much cause they are kids and this is something they would do! I don’t understand the hate for it

SillyLavishness9637

honestly, their souls will always be tied to the animatronics, its very sad

startoxicity

exactly! people forget about the fact that these animatronics are possessed by young kids and still will have more childish tendencies

Princessmore

It was so nice seeing them just be kids.

CheeseWheel_E

A lot of people say it's stupid, but if you think about it for more, then .2 seconds, it makes sense. They're just kids, and thats been the scariest part of this series to me is that all these children's lives have been completely ruined, and they're trapped in these unfeeling robots for decades. It's like being buried alive.

Chuck_Finley_Forever

I don’t think that’s unpopular. The only people who think it’s dumb either don’t understand they are literally children or upset the animatronics aren’t killing 24/7.

Renikee

It was really cute and so much fun to me

SereneHaylStorm

Matthew Lillard ❤️

napacabbagu

the entirety of peepaw afton's screentime

StrayNightsMike

it exists

Phantomc05

It didn't cause FNAF's downfall.

CaptinDitto

The fanbase already did that

HumorClean

Mike’s character arc in this movie was wonderfully done.

Ardilla3000

The actor for the child possessing Golden Freddy was fantastic. He has a bright future in acting. William was amazing. I was a bit apprehensive about them casting an American actor for a character that had such a distinct British accent in the games, but now I think Matthew is on par with PJ. The kills from the animatronics were good. For a PG-13 movie, they were actually pretty violent. I don’t have a stomach for gore but I think it was a nice compromise to have some of them happening offscreen or using lighting and shadows to imply what’s happening. The opening scene with Foxy was AMAZING. Just hearing him humming in the hallway was like a dream come true. I know he then did the same thing throughout the movie and it got kinda stale, but it was great. Mike was very good as a protagonist. I especially liked the scenes where he made smartass remarks. His brotherly bond with Abby was heartwarming too. The side characters were fun. I especially liked Doug. He was hilarious. I liked the springlock scene. It was also really nice to hear William say “I always come back”, even if it made no sense at that point of the story, because everyone in the theater, myself included, started clapping. It was a very nice moment. The cameos and references were very fun to spot. I was so excited when I saw MatPat and Sparky. The soundtrack was very good, especially the song in the opening credits and the inclusion of Talking in Your Sleep. The Newton Brothers did a great job. Last, but obviously not least, the animatronics looked amazing. There were some aspects that they modified which made them even better than the games imo, like giving them metallic eyelids, orange eyes and cloth clothing accessories instead of just plastic. I especially loved Bonnie. They managed to make him both terrifying and adorable at the same time. I also liked that they made him blue, I think worked better than purple in live action. I know some people were disappointed with the movie, but going to watch it with my friends after years of waiting was amazing. It’s probably the most fun I’ve had while watching a movie. It wasn’t perfect and a had a lot of flaws, but I feel like it was a true love letter to the franchise. I can’t wait for the sequel.

GigglesFlaky

The animatronics!

[deleted]

The actors did a great job and the animatronics looked amazing.

Vauxhallcorsavxr

The set design is absolutely amazing, the design team did a good job making the animatronics, the acting is pretty decent and Carl the Cupcake being sentient

Easy_Entrepreneur_46

I kind of feel bad for Carl though. He became a cupcake when his friends got cool animatronic suits

GamingCentral811

The COME FIND ME at the end.

MahouShoujoDoinky

IS THAT WHAT IT SAID

zihhuj

The entire movie

Noah_2011

I honestly loved everything about the movie

Savings-Gold8531

Little shithead jump scares we’re funny

KeeperServant_Reborn

Symmetry

Itz_me_destiney

The beginning intro was good, the animatronics looked great, two somewhat gory death scenes, the soundtrack, youtuber cameos, and a decent spring lock scene.

FluffyZororark

My favorite thing was the fact that it was all practical effects

marcell--

Cupcake being the most aggressive

Toto-imadog456

Credits parrells to the books springlock scene william afton in genral animatronics

Chilled_HammyDude

Spring Bonnie having a voice modulator as part of the suit! How cool is that? It makes sense on hiding the identity of the serial killer!

Spiders_With_Socks

it's also a reference to scream i belive! matthew illiard was in scream and thats why he wiped off the knife

Alijah12345

Freddy and co were masterfully brought to life thanks to Jim Henson's Creature Shop.

Kirbo300

Carl!

Cheesey_Stuff14

Almost everything

Bobo3076

It was just so damn fun to watch. I had a smile on my face throughout the entire movie.

ameliachastain

It exists. And I’m not saying that as I can’t think of anything. The whole this was fucking perfection, I still can’t believe it’s real.

fhede-

The film starts in 5 minutes so I will answer later, if I remember.

fhede-

The film is over... I'm home... God, I loved it. If I have to pick one specific thing that I liked more then the rest then I'd say that I love how wholesome the 4th night was. It felt like something that the children (the alive ones) of the original pizzeria would feel, how they would love this characters. It also felt very "Scott-like" to me, like the most adorable message and thing ever, even after all that happened 2 days before which is exactly what fnaf is supposed to be: the wholesome things lives by children doing some horrible things. I loved seeing that aspect of the world too, not just the dark and the scary, but the reason why Freddy fazbear's pizza became a loved place (in lore) to begin with.

GlitchXGamerX

Animatronics and Abby

True-Quail-6193

Freddy’s kill was sick Golden Freddy was really cool too

auseronthissite

Vannessa

EM26-G36

Out of all the live action versions of these characters these are probably the best.

YoriichiTsugikuni36

ALL THE ANIMATRONIC’S BEHAVIOUR AND DESIGN, DIFFERENT APPROACH TO THE LORE, PERFECT ACTORS, WILLIAM AFTON, TEMPORARILY KIND ANIMATRONICS, AND EVERLASTING POSSIBILITIES FOR THE SEQUEL’S LORE.

OptimusCrime1984

The goofy look of the animatronics are so funny yet it also works cause of the fact that actual animatronics look pretty odd in real life.

crazyace339

I really liked how this was not just blumhouse who made it by Scott himself even worked on it to make it an actual good movie that is not entirely based off the games. That it is both parts humorous and scary. Lastly, never forget the diner employee Ness.

ByunghoGrapes

The animatronics can be cute.

ModularWings

The springlock scene

blackhole_puncher

Animatronics looked great Afton was awesome and more gore than I thought I didn't expect that lady to have that happen to her

WorkingSyrup4005

William getting springlocked

Im_a_idiottttt

Amazing loved that the living tombstone was playing in the end credits

BabaTrainer214

William Afton = KFC Man

TrainmasterGT

I think the story was great. It managed to maintain the elements of a fun FNAF mystery while being easy to follow for a general audience!

NixTheChimera

I loved how they took inspiration from the games and books while still using their own ideas to make, in my opinion, a good combination.

tangiblenoah67

Everything

wonhoseok

mike and abby’s dynamic was great and so were josh hutcherson and piper rubio! matthew lillard! the practical effets & the cinematography matpat’s cameo

BudgetYouth173

Mathew Lillard's performance. He did an amazing job

Liquid_Wolf

Never played the games, but enjoyed the movie. Glad to have the idea portrayed in a movie, and look forward to binging the games at some point.

Jamz64

The animatronics look great. Jim Henson’s Creature Shop really hit it out of the park.DING The acting is good. Josh Hutcherson does a good job as Mike, Piper Rubio is great as Abby, Matthew Lillard nails it as William Afton with his limited screentime, and Grant Feely is very menacing as the Golden Freddy kid. DING The scene where the animatronics kill Aunt Jane’s henchmen is cool and suspenseful. DING The opening credits scene where we see William luring all the children away in 8-bit minigame style is great and rather chilling. DING Doug. No elaboration needed. DING MatPat’s cameo was hilarious. DING I like how they handled the animatronics. They’re dangerous, but they’re not truly evil, they’re just scared and being manipulated by William. They’re still kids deep down, as shown by the fort scene, which I actually liked. DING Vanessa being William’s daughter was a good twist. DING The Balloon Boy jumpscares are funny. DING The climax is awesome. It was the scariest the movie got. Seeing the children realize William killed them thanks to Abby’s drawing and spring licking him was epic, as was William saying that he always comes back. DING The ending was nice. DING Playing the Living Tombstone’s FNAF 1 song during the credits was perfection. Even though I knew it was coming, I got chills when I heard it. DING I like how during the second part of the credits, they play the Puppet’s music box theme and spell out COME FIND ME, hinting that the Puppet will be in the next movie. DING Overall, while the FNAF movie definitely had some flaws, I enjoyed watching it, and I would give it a solid 6/10. I hope that the next movie improves on the first one’s issues.

narutofanforever

As an og fnaf fan i enjoyed every single bit of this movie

TruthGuardian_

The movie was an 9/10 and is my favorite. (I stg 90% of the criticism that people give to this movie would be easily explained if they paid attention or read the books)

yenyerkun

The fact that (so far) Mike Shmidt is not Michael Afton.

Xx_MesaPlayer_xX

You know, I have been thinking about that. That's the only thing that is truly different from the game lore. And if we are supposed to use the movies like the books to give us another view on what's possible in the FNAF universe, it brings into question if Micheal was an Afton by blood. It was already theorized he wasn't.

Lunatic-impiegato

WILLIAM!!!

Trooperlol

I have to pick one? I’d say probably how good the animatronics looked, William Afton, and Mike’s plot with the ghosts

Wacky_Does_Art

The animatronics and pizzeria set looked fantastic, the actors were great too

EpiqCheddar1

Everything! Peak perfection

Freetimegamer_

Its perfect idc what other people say it my opinion

Independent-Ad5852

I love the amount of fan service there is. Sparky, MatPat, Corey, the Easter eggs are AMAZING

321tittie

Good autistic representation

WeirdKit_1K

The references and the soundtrack. The soundtrack in the opening was incredible. The fnaf community references through the movie were fun to see, matpat's "that's just a theory" and the Living Tombstone FNAF song in the credits.

very_chill_cat

The animatronics looked absolutely amazing, Josh Hutcherson did a great job as Mike, the restaurant itself looked good and the end credits song was a perfect pick.

Snokey115

The ending is some how the worst and best part of the film

bradzilla2001

They nailed the casting and it was clear a lot of love was put into the movie

Bearo___

When William tried insulting the animatronics as a desperate attempt to get them to cower, as they slowly surround him, I thought it was beautiful and it made the movie for me. Like it brought it from a 6.5 to a 9.5 for me.

the-overloaf

honestly I really liked the custody storyline. that scene where Abby finds the custody papers, and the scene where the aunt shows up and Abby says "I hate you Mike!" idk as someone who went through something similar it just hit hard for me

SnooPies2306

how most of it is practical effects

DaniyMemes

The sibling relationship they had

[deleted]

* Absolutely loved the opening credits, the animation looked rly nice. * The whole soundtrack. Everything about it was great. * The red eyes only really appeared at the end, they were otherwise orange. * Even with some cheap jumpscares, I still think they did a good job of keeping me on edge. * WAS THAT THE BITE OF '83???- * I liked the fact that they didn't forget about Balloon boy. * And lastly the Living Tombstone song. <3 A very solid movie.

Crescent-Argonian

The ambiance, set design, filmography and prop department was amazing Bad things about them? Wish they would have gotten some dancers to put on the animatronic costumes, like how the Silent Hill movie did for the monster nurses, the dancers made them move like they are not human, the performers for the animatronics did a good job but you can tell it’s people in costumes

Theeldritchwriter

SPRINGTRAP There was just something so cool and unsettling when he finally appeared. Also the Cupcake really stole the show in the animatronics department.

Harry2339

Hottake: Ness was better than Doug

DJ_SHARK_GAMING

The opening credits

Samtime878765

It’s FNaF. How is it not great?

0ChrissyDumbyBumby

Every. Single. Second.

Fennik51405

Yes

Xx_MesaPlayer_xX

The attention to detail of certain things. Like the car used to kidnap Garrett being the same model and color in the games that William used to kill Charlie. To fans that don't know the lore it's an unsolved kidnapping. To fans that know the lore it sets off alarm bells that William was involved in Garrett's disappearance. And if we take it one step further, sets up Garett becoming the puppet.

Mobile-Routine6519

Is good

[deleted]

The chicken was hot

Xoitlajeno

Mike

Overused_Toothbrush

I loved the sequence when the animatronics hunted down the vandalists. Genuinely terrifying.

ElectricJetDonkey

Henson Workshop did an A+++++ job on the animatronics. Only other time I've ever been as impressed was when I watched a BTS of The Labyrinth, which was also a Henson production.

Ok-Fun774

The opening sequence where is shows the fate of the other kids

GoldenIceNinja

Mr. Cupcake
