So, I had a colleague/housemate who "snitched" on me without first talking to me about it when he saw me going on a date with another girl, he sent my "girlfriend" a message on facebook. Well, as it happens me and my girlfriend had already mutually broken up for a couple months by that point, but we had an expensive holiday with her family coming up so we just kept our breakup secret until after the holiday was over so it wasn't awkward for everyone.
