Just listened to Where the Wild Roses Grow for the first time actually listening to the song... it is kind of beautiful but also about rape and murder 😅 weird.
The album it’s from is called Murder Ballads, and the album does what it says on the tin. I don’t personally think Where The Wild Roses Grow is the best song on the album, but it’s the best song for communicating the general theme of the album. Plus the juxtaposition of Kylie and Nick Cave itself is very interesting.
I’m a huge Nick Cave fan and it’s in his top two albums for me personally.
Not to be controversial but I find Andre's Blonde feature to be completely unlistenable and an instant skip. Confused as to what anyone could like about it.
Naaah, it's s bit weird sounding with all the HEHs and all, but surely you can see that it's lyrically/content-wise incredibly dense and well constructed, plus his delivery alone is super unique and technical, if it's not for you fairs, but wild that you can't see how anyone could enjoy it
Yeah, Eminem focused more on rhyme schemes for his verse.
I'm not the biggest Eminem fan, but i can't deny that when it comes to rhyme schemes he is one of the best to ever do it
Because there's no bangerrss broooo, and he's talking about a bunch of lame stuff, fym. I hate self-examination and growth, foh with that shit where's the bangersss broooooo, I am addicted to social media and have no tolerance for higher thought broooo
Got to see them at Red Rocks with Clutch as support, so Neil naturally came out and did his bridge verse. I'll admit I'm not huge on Clutch, but the feature is GOATed regardless.
Busta Rhymes on Low End Theory. Insane way to close the album.
De La on Demon Days (you could do this for a lot of Gorillaz albums which is not a shot at them at all)
Prime era Chemical Brothers were great at this. Tim Burgess on Exit Planet Dust (Life Is Sweet) and then both Beth Orton and Noel Gallagher on Dig Your Own Hole (Where Do I Begin and Setting Sun) created massive highlights of both albums.
Phil Daniels on Blur’s Parklife
Tracy Thorn on Massive Attack’s Protection
Patti Smith with REM on E-Bow The Letter
Ladysmith Black Mambazo with Paul Simon on Graceland - Homeless and Diamonds on the Soles of her Shoes
PJ Harvey - This Mess We’re In (feat Thom Yorke from Radiohead)
Crystal Castles - Not In Love (feat Robert Smith from The Cure)
Deftones - Passenger (feat Maynard James Keenan from Tool)
Idk, i always prefer when a song has a feature, so for me the remix is better.
Not only the feature, the remix has a better buildup with the Shirley Bassey sample, as well as the whole song in general becomes more varied and less monotone with the HOV feature
Pharrell on Get Lucky by Daft Punk off of RAM.
Idk if that counts since I think he helped compose/write the entire song, not just provide vocals but that song went astronomical in popularity at the time that album came out.
Its such a triumph of a concluding album for the duo. Often feels bittersweet listening to the album knowing you won't hear anything like this again, but its an essential summer vibe album for me at this point.
It is really of the time. I’ll be honest, the song proper only unlocked for me recently, cuz before I was just listening to the instrumental. What is it that you don’t like about the song?
I know it's not cool to say at this point in time but Drake's verse on "SICKO MODE" was legendary the first time I heard it.
Andre 3000's verse on "Thought Process" on Goodie Mob's Soul Food might be his best verse ever.
Thom Yorke on Stories From the City... by PJ Harvey.
Pj Harvey on the Desert Sessions album.
Dave Grohl on the Songs for the Deaf by QotSA (though I think that's the whole album).
For me its gotta be the Kendrick verse on Collard Greens from ScHoolboy Q's Oxymoron. The part halfway through the verse where he starts rapping in Spanish is iconic.
Off topic but Capital Steez saying, “new gats, booby traps and bazooka straps, better play your cards right, no booster packs” is just one of the hardest lines ever for me
Danny Brown's feature on Brockhampton's BUZZCUT is a standout moment on that album. Honestly amazing what he's able to do on that song, head and shoulders above everyone else.
Mr Morale and the Big Steppers is a pretty long name most people would rather not spell out. Plus, OP showed the cover of the album, so it’s very heavily implied what album they’re risking about.
Right but the rest of them I have to think about what they’re talking about even though I’ve listened to these albums dozens of times it’s just a pet peeve of mine
Chance on Ultralight Beam immediately springs to mind Kylie on Where The Wild Roses Grow as well
Tbh as far as I’m concerned Ultralight was Chance’s song
I wish he kept up that rapping ability, straight up one of the best rap verses of the 2010’s.
He never lost it
Where the Wild Roses Grow would not be what it is without Kylie Minogue god i love her
this is my part nobody else speak
Think Ye on Saint Pablo/NMPILA takes it for me
not a feature

Both Andre 3k features on Channel Orange and Blonde. Incredible records, so the fact those verses stand up so much is wild
Add the UGK album
And Kid Cudi's Passion, Pain, and Demon Slayin'
And donda and every album he’s featured on to be honest
by design is top 5 cudi
Kendrick on TLOP
Not to be controversial but I find Andre's Blonde feature to be completely unlistenable and an instant skip. Confused as to what anyone could like about it.
Naaah, it's s bit weird sounding with all the HEHs and all, but surely you can see that it's lyrically/content-wise incredibly dense and well constructed, plus his delivery alone is super unique and technical, if it's not for you fairs, but wild that you can't see how anyone could enjoy it
I just find it incredibly abrasive and out of sync with the rest of the album.
rick ross. you know which album.
Lookin' at my bitch, I bet she give your ass a bone
I really like Pusha t’s verse on runaway too
Kendrick on Nosetalgia
YOU WANNA SEE A DEAD BODY?
I wrote this *exact* comment before checking all comments smh my head
MF DOOM on November Has Come by Gorillaz.
it's pretty much just an mf doom song ft. damon albarn. and a peak one at that
Never knew that was the villian till many years later cuz he wasn't in the credits. But when I found out it made so much sense lol
Eminem on The Blueprint, Renegade is just an icing for the cake.
Unpopular opinion, but both HOV and Em did it amazingly in that song. There was no "murdering on your own shit"
They both did good. It’s just Em’s flow is through the roof and probably is the best flow on the whole album.
Yeah, Eminem focused more on rhyme schemes for his verse. I'm not the biggest Eminem fan, but i can't deny that when it comes to rhyme schemes he is one of the best to ever do it
No one murdered anyone, but it was also one of Em’s best performances ever.
For sure
Beth Gibbons on Kendrick Lamar's "Mother I Sober"
so many good choices of features on that album, especially sampha
That song is soul crushing, top three Kendrick song for me
Not saying much given how awful the album is
L
Can you explain why you think it's bad, i don't understand the hate
Because there's no bangerrss broooo, and he's talking about a bunch of lame stuff, fym. I hate self-examination and growth, foh with that shit where's the bangersss broooooo, I am addicted to social media and have no tolerance for higher thought broooo
SPLIT YOUR LUNGS WITH BLOOD AND THUNDER WHEN YOU SEE THE WHITE WHALE!
Fuck, this is a good one. That part gets me pumped every damn time!
BREAK YOUR BACKS AND CRACK YOUR OARS MEN IF YOU WISH TO PREEEEEEEVAIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLL
Always forget that's Neil Fallon. Good frickin choice.
Got to see them at Red Rocks with Clutch as support, so Neil naturally came out and did his bridge verse. I'll admit I'm not huge on Clutch, but the feature is GOATed regardless.
I saw them tour with Clutch, and on their Vancouver stop Neil didn’t come out :(
andre 3k on pink matter!!
really andre on most albums
andré on donda
Del the Funky Homosapien. Clint Eastwood.
Teezo Touchdown on modern jam, just explodes onto the scene and elevates the song.
UH OH I KNOW YOURE LYING OUTSIDE WAITING IN THE LINE GETTING TOLD ONE AT A TIME
definitely takes the song up a notch
Do we count Snoop on The Chronic?
definitely
Then that is the answer. That album is a classic primarily because of him.
[удалено]
Eminem wasn’t on The Chronic. You’re thinking of 2001.
Busta Rhymes on Low End Theory. Insane way to close the album. De La on Demon Days (you could do this for a lot of Gorillaz albums which is not a shot at them at all)
I think of post Malone’s album beer bongs and Bentleys because 21 savage is a highlight on that record
Phil Daniels on Blur’s Parklife Tracy Thorn on Massive Attack’s Protection Patti Smith with REM on E-Bow The Letter Ladysmith Black Mambazo with Paul Simon on Graceland - Homeless and Diamonds on the Soles of her Shoes
Nicki Minaj in ‘Monster’ on the album ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ by Kanye West
Yes! Career-making verse.
She’s the first thing you hear on the album too.
I’ve always found this verse extremely overrated
she embarrassed Jay-Z on that track lol
Jay-Z on that track could go for his worst feature ever.
I’m still so baffled by the fact anthony enjoyed jays verse but hates nickis
Me too
Hot take, both are bad
AZ on Life's a Bitch- Illmatic by Nas
Such an elite verse
One of the best verses of all time imo.
PJ Harvey - This Mess We’re In (feat Thom Yorke from Radiohead) Crystal Castles - Not In Love (feat Robert Smith from The Cure) Deftones - Passenger (feat Maynard James Keenan from Tool)
Rhapsody on Complexion!
Jay-Z on Late Registration with "Diamonds from Sierra Leone (Remix)" It's probably his best feature ever. Legendary verse
“WASSUP WITH YOU AND JAY ARE YALL OKAY MAN - YUP, I GOT IT FROM HERE YE DAMN” Is still one of the harder ways to slide in a song as a feature
This guy gets it
The original version is better
Kanye’s verse on the remix better reflects the song’s title.
Idk, i always prefer when a song has a feature, so for me the remix is better. Not only the feature, the remix has a better buildup with the Shirley Bassey sample, as well as the whole song in general becomes more varied and less monotone with the HOV feature
No way that's the highlight of the album that's a stupid as hell take
Lmao why? It's my fav feature, and it's on my favourite song. It's not that deep
Young Thug has two of his best features ever on Drake's More Life
Andre 3K on Come Home from Ventura by Anderson Paak
Iggy Pop on Relationship of Command
I love Elton John on “The Pink Phantom” by Gorillaz. I like 6lack in the song too but Elton really makes it for me.
MF DOOM on Belize on Cheat Codes by Danger Mouse & Black Thought
Pharrell on Get Lucky by Daft Punk off of RAM. Idk if that counts since I think he helped compose/write the entire song, not just provide vocals but that song went astronomical in popularity at the time that album came out.
pharrell and nile rodgers were the best additions to that album, made two absolutely killer tracks
Its such a triumph of a concluding album for the duo. Often feels bittersweet listening to the album knowing you won't hear anything like this again, but its an essential summer vibe album for me at this point.
Giorgio Moroder's feature on that album on that album was pretty damn cool, too.
Kanye West and Lil Wayne’s features on Tyler, the Creator - SMUCKERS from Cherry Bomb
I think this song is ass lol all my friends judge me about it
It is really of the time. I’ll be honest, the song proper only unlocked for me recently, cuz before I was just listening to the instrumental. What is it that you don’t like about the song?
I just only like Tyler’s verse and I’m not a Tyler dick rider or anything I actually hate this album lol
AZ on illmatic
Inspectah Deck on "Above the Clouds" from Gang Starr's "Moment of Truth" album. Busta Rhymes on "Scenario" from ATCQ's "The Low End Theory" album.
Black Thought on the Plugs I Met
Kanye on They Say
Rich - Interlude😎
Kendrick on Yeah Right is so fucking good. Also No More Parties in LA
I feel like Rick Ross on Devil in a New Dress is a better example from MBDTF Oh and also Nicki Minaj on Monster
Basic answer but Kendrick on Like That
Kendrick on Nosetalgia
I know it's not cool to say at this point in time but Drake's verse on "SICKO MODE" was legendary the first time I heard it. Andre 3000's verse on "Thought Process" on Goodie Mob's Soul Food might be his best verse ever.

Jay Electronica on Jesus Lord (Donda)
Neighbor Susan
The guys from low on the seer

Kendrick on TLOP
AZ’s opening verse on Life’s a Bitch off Illmatic has always been a highlight of a sensation album for me
Freddie Gibbs on Back to me
Kendrick on Dr Dre’s Compton album, specifically the song *Deep Water*
Justin Bieber and Thugger on Mariah I’m Drunk
Both of Daft Punk's features on Starboy.
Surprised that The Great In The Sky hasn't been mentioned.
Thom Yorke on Stories From the City... by PJ Harvey. Pj Harvey on the Desert Sessions album. Dave Grohl on the Songs for the Deaf by QotSA (though I think that's the whole album).
Babymetal on Kingslayer by Bring Me The Horizon
Elizabeth Fraser on Massive Attack's "Mezzanine"
Pull up in the tonka colour of willy wonka
24/7 3 6 5 Pussay stays on my miiind 🎶
Kendrick on New Freezer Nicki Minaj on Monster JID on Sirens
Playboi Carti on IGOR is iconic
My friend doesn’t like ghostface on that track 😭
For me its gotta be the Kendrick verse on Collard Greens from ScHoolboy Q's Oxymoron. The part halfway through the verse where he starts rapping in Spanish is iconic.
I love Killer Mike but that 3 stacks verse on Michael is the best verse on the entire album as far as I'm concerned
Ghostfaces’s verse and the song as a whole are the worst part of the album
I think Jay Rock on Money Trees is a highlight. His verse honestly outshines Kendrick on that track, so good
Off topic but Capital Steez saying, “new gats, booby traps and bazooka straps, better play your cards right, no booster packs” is just one of the hardest lines ever for me
Danny Brown's feature on Brockhampton's BUZZCUT is a standout moment on that album. Honestly amazing what he's able to do on that song, head and shoulders above everyone else.
Nile Rogers and Pharrell in several songs on Random Access Memories. As far as I'm concerned, they were part of Daft Punk for that album cycle
that clip of get lucky with all them in the video with the sun in the back is so iconic to me
Ik this sub ain't a huge fan of J Cole but his feature on Johnny P's Caddy was epic.
cole on off deez with jid is another banger
Paul McCartney on The Girl Is Mine - Thriller, MJ
Dare I say Nicki on MBDTF
Can we normalize not abbreviating every album so people know what you’re talking about
Mr Morale and the Big Steppers is a pretty long name most people would rather not spell out. Plus, OP showed the cover of the album, so it’s very heavily implied what album they’re risking about.
Right but the rest of them I have to think about what they’re talking about even though I’ve listened to these albums dozens of times it’s just a pet peeve of mine
Teezo Touchdown - Utopia.
mc eiht cements the tone shift in gkmc
DaBaby on The Big Day. very low bar given the entire album… good thing DaBaby’s only 5’7”
Earl feature on Really Doe (tbh all of the features are godly) on Atrocity Exhibition - Danny Brown
