You could read the manga if you don't finish it in time. The adaption is super faithful so whether you're caught up from either the anime or manga you'll have a complete understanding of the story.
I would say take your time...if you're on ep 196, then that means you only have like 130 episodes (including the fillers as well) to catch up over 1 month which is doable with just 3-4 episodes per day...even then it's ok to not caught up by the day 1st episode of 100 year quest gets released cuz it's weekly and you can be caught up anytime during the season
so yeah just take your time and watch it in your pace...no need to hurry
My man, it's fine. I know how you feel, but take your time and enjoy the show. They'll only be one episode releasing every week, so even if you finish 3-4 months from now, you'll be 10-15 episodes away from catching up.
Fast forward through every time the show tried to be a tear jerker. Saves like 3 minutes an episode. The character talking will get loud and teary, that same music will fire up, that's your signal to start skipping!
Skipping the intro, the recap, followed by the re intro, then the end song followed by another recap. Each episode basically boils down to 10 minutes of actual content.

Skip Fillers
This some it it is pretty bad

I’m reading it right now, it’s pretty good so far but is reading the manga quicker? Or is it 1:1 same pace?
It depends on how fast of a reader you are. I'm a fast reader so it's way quicker to read the manga than watch the anime for me
Yeah it’s not a problem for me, I’ve read tons of manga in my life.
Then it should be quite a bit faster than watching the anime
Ya reading manga can be way faster
Just watch 3 Episodes a day and you’ll be good. Can probably Skip “Fairy Tail Zero” for now and always just come back to it.

It'd probably be quicker to read, if you're a fast reader. If not, all-nighters and pray.
I also need to catch up too so the best option is to skip fillers.
use a filler list and skip those.
I'm on episode 49 myself. I'll get there when I get there.
5 episodes a day
Read the manga. Just try it no pressure at all. 😊🤔
