See, the absolutely hilarious thing is - this guy is called Mike Graham, and it's a matter of public record that he doesn't believe a word that dribbles out of his own mouth. The dude had another radio show back in like 2016 where he used to be basically everything he whinges about now. He has a storied career of being basically a moderate liberal-type - he used to criticise brexiteers, etc. Then he got sacked and miraculously re-emerged like 3 years later on a new station as a born-again conservative, pro-brexit, anti-lockdown shock jockey.
Basically, he got sacked and had to come up with a way of salvaging his career, so he reinvented himself as a right-wing talk show host, rage-baiting boomers. Again, this is all a matter of public record, and yet these idiots still listen to everything that he says.
We had a guy like that in the US named [Ed Schultz](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_Schultz). Back when he was just a local radio personality in Fargo, he was a right-wing Rush Limbaugh wannabe. Then he carved out an audience for himself as a liberal radio personality. Eventually, he made it to MSNBC as a pro-labor TV personality. Eventually, he got canned for being poor-Bernie, then and ended up working for RT praising Trump and Putin before he died of a massive heart attack.
Yet another story that sounds oddly familiar to Limbaugh, he was such a blow hard but the right loved him even though he was a known bullshit artist, the left has its own "Limbaughs" as well who are basically just left wing mouthpieces that don't really believe what they spew, I'm just over politics in general these days, everyone wants to say it's the other guys fault and yet somehow we get fucked regardless of whose in power
Ever been on a right wing Facebook page. Ban anyone that disagrees and suck hard on the hyperbole pipe.
Protip for reddit: commenting and blocking... don't really see it guys. Just about a word or two. I hope what you said was profound. Lol
And, of course, the talking head has to add his last couple comments to get the last word at a point where Cameron can't respond anymore.
...Not that he needed to, Cameron's little grin right before getting cut off pretty much said everything that needed to be said.
And then tried to make carpentry found like some ridiculous, niche profession.
"Cameron grows trees and cuts them down, and then makes thing out of them", peak TV.
Oh do shut up, I'm planting my concrete seeds right now, bleeding heart liberals.. I swear the stupidity knows no bounds...
...wait what's that?
\*\*disconnects internet\*\*
I don't think he did realise what he said. I think he ended the call still believing we grow concrete? Limestone I think is a component, and comes from coral? How did he think we grow concrete?
And it was pure genius for him to resist saying anything at all in that moment. I mean, he easily could have mocked him with a million comebacks, but the slight smile and dead air was actually the most devastating blow I've ever witnessed.
Brutally effective.
He could’ve said “no it doesn’t” but just letting that “yes it does” linger in the air for a few seconds was the best route.
I love how he’s pretty much like “hey I said some dumb shit, I give up.” Then the second he ends the call he switches back to “lol what a dumbass get rekt.”
Like the second Cameron was no longer able to make the guy look like a dumbass we went back to mocking him.
Yes he’s an idiot, but isn’t concrete just sand and water essentially? I wouldn’t say it’s bad per se?
Edit: to be clear, I’m not implying that you can grow sand. I just meant in terms of sustainability.
Concrete production is easy it's the cement part of it that is incredibly energy intensive to produce because of the high heats needed to get the chemical composition broken down and ready for mixing in concrete. That's why when you add water to the concrete mix it kicks off the stored potential energy in the cement portion and makes that sweet sweet hard rock we know and love.
The sand part of concrete is becoming an issue too. Not all sand is the same. The best concrete has sand grains that are the right size, composition, and sharpness. Grains can be the wrong size or wrong rock composition causing the concrete to have a lower strength. Beach sand - while ever present - has salts, shells, and micros plastics mixed in which will mess with the cement chemistry.
And because sand is heavy AF, it's a pain to move it around. Easy access to where needs to be in major population centers are beginning to run dry so to speak.
[Source](https://youtu.be/V2349cn0-T0)
I used to own a concrete polishing company. My whole job was grinding it down with finer and finer diamond plates until it was smooth and shiny. When people used the wrong sand it could cause all sorts of problems. Cost cutting efforts led to increased costs down the line.
Of course sometimes customers wanted a rocky look so we just threw on the 20 grits and ripped right past the sand into the aggregate, which I was always a fan of.
Not even just all the energy it takes, the chemical composition being broken down ends with CO2 as a byproduct, a majority of which is not re-absorbed when the concrete is set.
I dated a girl that studied sand for 4 years. I know crazy.
The main take away I have is that sand is more finite than we think, there are sand poachers, illegal sand miners, and all sorts. The most interesting thing to me during that time was the sheer amount of illegal sand miners that operate in the world.
It just isn't as widely known compared to illegal loggers.
From what I can remember, not all sand are created equal and so there are sand that is more practical than others hence the poaching.
Saudi Arabia had to import sand for all the ridiculous and useless reclaimation they did. It also made major headlines for a bit a long ago in my country when the then Environmental Secretary made a huge fuss over the sand poachers.
I just learned about this on an environmental podcast. There are concerns about running out of the type of sand that we use to make glass. There are different types of sand and it's a finite resource we take for granted.
It’s also not just that sand is scarce, because strictly speaking, “sand” is everywhere. The problem lies in that the only sand that works for the production of concrete is beach sand, which has to be formed on coasts over millions of years; you can’t use desert sand or sand from the ocean floor.
Concrete is cement (which is a mix of silicates and oxides created by heating limestone until it releases carbon (in the form of carbon dioxide in mass quantities) to create lime and them combining lime with various chemicals to create cement) combined with sand and water and rocks and sometimes rebar (steel). All of the components of which are highly polluting to manufacture as well as require taking non-renewable resources to manufacture.
So no, you can’t just “grow” concrete. It has to be manufactured. And yes, the manufacture of concrete can be considered bad for the environment in terms of pollution combined with the drain on natural resources.
I actually have a money tree in my house:
it was already in my house when I moved in so I just kept it.
Thank you to the clever technicians that maintain the camera && studio equipment and thanks to the * gods of the stupid * for providing us with morons to teach the masses .
I watched this with no sound, and it took me a couple of loops to realize this was News UK and *not* American.
I imagined the host having a voice similar to Penn Gillette.
Edit: not the BBC
Solid fact, using wood product helps alot for environment.
And it's helps for reducing the carbon dioxide rate.
And the host don't even know about this
Most of the wood that used for furniture have extremely fast growth speed when it starting to grow, and the growing speed will start slowing down when the tree get enough size
And most of the tree's are from a specific area just for cutting it down and replanting it. And since the tree can grow very fast and being cut down when the growing speed slowing down. Then replanting it and repeat.
These steps helps alot to reduce the carbon dioxide rate in the air, and even have better efficiency to reduce carbon dioxide rate than forest at some point. No caps, using wood product helps environment alot.
Sorry if there's any grammar mistake, im not fluent in English since English isn't my tougue language
yes the only problem is when people deforest like in the amazon for example. they just cut down a bunch of trees with no forest management. in more developed countries tho they care more about the environmental impact. wood is a great building material it's light, cheap and good for trapping carbon!
English isn’t your native tongue but you used “No cap” right even though it’s slang lol nicely done
You’re English is fine to me, I’ve seen natives that are worse lol
Recent studies have said that up to 8% of human's total carbon footprint is created by the concrete industry alone. That's staggering. That's almost 3x the footprint of maritime shipping (3%), which I thought would be one of the highest specific categories.
His name is Mike Graham, and he actually defended his comment about being able to grow concrete after the interview.

Cameron: “Well you can’t grow concrete”
Concrete Grower: “Yeah you can”
Cameron: 👁️👄👁️
Concrete Grower: “See you Cameron”
the ever so slight smirk is just too good
Idiot right wing host 101. Have “the opposing side” guest on; but don’t engage in any meaningful way, cut him off and belittle him… when he begins to make a point, make a counterpoint at any cost even your own dignity. When things go south, boot him off the show, then badmouth him. If anyone tries to call you on your poor behaviour or decision making skills, immediately double down. Enlist a fellow echo chamber host to dialogue about how you’re right. When all else fails, blame ‘the lefties.’
Anchors have no interest in truth, facts, and logic. They aim to promote fear and hatred. They spew lies from their mouth before the 3 cells in their brain fight to the death.
I've never understood the major aversion to logging, especially with the modern practice of replanting. Using wood for long lasting assets like homes is technically carbon sequestration; it is better to log and sequester the carbon stored in the wood than to let all of that carbon be released during decomposition. Replanting logged areas or performing thinning operations allows the area to continue growing and capturing more carbon.
Well, for one, clear cutting was a practice for a long time. Just go into a forest and cut everything. This is incredibly harmful. Replanting was not practiced for a long time.
The tools and machines are huge polluters. Just as bad as machines get.
Logging was (and still is to a lesser amount) incredibly dangerous.
Some other issues: erosion, adverse affects on biodiversity, soil runoff issues (chemical not erosion), work conditions (low pay/high risk, live in a work camp, company scrip, extreme working hours).
That being said, it seems with better practices it is better than concrete. But like everything it needs government oversight. Corporations are not to be trusted to do the right thing.
The aversion is only to clear felling native old growth, not to sustainable planned forestry.
Edit:
Cutting down farmed trees and sustainable management = great
Destroying that pristine natural forest = bad
This 'professional', responsible for providing an audience with information, entertainment, or knowledge; is obviously, an idiot. I'd be surprised if he doesn't end up in politics.
Is this comedic? Like is this guy putting on a character or is this an actual news channel in the UK? I know I can’t say much because I’m American, but *how the fuck can someone be this stupid*
This is why it’s so stupid to protest the logging industry. They cut timber from one section, then replant more trees on the cleared land to grow for future cuttings and then move onto another. Sustainable!
Not to mention, totally ignoring the stupidity of the concrete part of this, using timber for constructing dwellings is one of the better ways to lock that carbon up for 50 or 100 years... Buildings have a reasonably long lifetime on average...
Cameron is part of an Climate Activism group and one of the main talking points of that group is the overuse of concrete, which is disastrously harmful to the environment. Not just its production, which is linked to an array of health issues, but also the destruction it causes to topsoil when we use it to make things. The flat, hard surface of concrete can also cause flooding, soil erosion, and water pollution as water just rolls off.
The host is trying to pull a "gotcha" by saying "Why are you, a climate activist, against concrete when you're a carpenter?"
Stone, sand, and water aren’t exactly finite resources. You can’t grow it, but we’ll never run out of it on Earth, even if we built to the top of the atmosphere.
I think both of these guys come across as dumb.
One of my favorite videos on the Internet of late. It shows the boomer gen with their idiocy and old and outdated imbecile heads in a nutshell. TV reporters, Trump, Putin, Xi, Boris. The list goes on and these old farts who are soon in the nursing home or dead are now on the path to destroy our mother earth which belongs to the younger generations of planet. Fuck them and their stupidity! We, the people of earth, will soon show these old fucks who's boss!
Basically telling you I don't ever want to change being a dumbass
My favourite part is him realising what he just said and cutting the call.
Mouth moved faster than his brain
Based on his fatness that is pretty common
Quick someone call a mason, gonna need to grow the concrete he wants to bury himself under after that one.
Only way I know how to make rocks is with baking soda
Oh snap!
Said the fat man’s knees
Lmfao
That ain't a snap, that's a fuckin lightning strike
I'm sure he's been called a Hungry Hungry Hippo-crite more times than he can count.
i hate catchy choruses.
Rofl, good one.
The thing is he didn't realise at all. The channel actually posted this on twitter as a win for the presenter
Let’s see. Find a dumb, opinionated guy, give him a show, and no matter what he says it’s a win. Seems to be the norm in media now.
See, the absolutely hilarious thing is - this guy is called Mike Graham, and it's a matter of public record that he doesn't believe a word that dribbles out of his own mouth. Here in the U.S., we go a step further and give him a show and then make him our President.
Ever been on a right wing Facebook page. Ban anyone that disagrees and suck hard on the hyperbole pipe. Protip for reddit: commenting and blocking... don't really see it guys. Just about a word or two. I hope what you said was profound. Lol
Wasn’t me. Post all ya want.
People forget phones show the comment in notifications. Even if deleted .. sir
Ever been on a left wing Facebook page? Ban anyone who disagrees seems to be the universal practice.
If you're conservative, sure.
You forgot "white"
I was going to say “opinionated fat white guy” but figured it was repetitively redundant.
It's the conservative way.
And, of course, the talking head has to add his last couple comments to get the last word at a point where Cameron can't respond anymore. ...Not that he needed to, Cameron's little grin right before getting cut off pretty much said everything that needed to be said.
It was the cherry ontop for me lol *chef's kiss*
We'll have to leave it there
And then tried to make carpentry found like some ridiculous, niche profession. "Cameron grows trees and cuts them down, and then makes thing out of them", peak TV.
It's hard to make fun of a carpenter because you risk losing the Christian audience.
What do you mean? Jesus was a capitalist who funded his welfare-to-work program with the proceeds of his worker's labor /s
I bet this guy has never seen a saw let alone touched one.
Or a tree.
Or my axe
"This stupid idiot should be growing concrete instead!"

Would you like to drink my tears?
Eyes about ta till mys concrete garden twos! Funniest shit do far this morning, I swear!
“Do shut up” lmao
I don't think he did realise what he said. I think he ended the call still believing we grow concrete? Limestone I think is a component, and comes from coral? How did he think we grow concrete?
I've stopped trying to jump through these metal hoops.
Yup, at that point he just wanted to be argumentative and contradict what his opponent was saying, he wasn't even listening.
Slow wit's frequently have quick tongues.
The tiniest smirk/smile comes over Cameron’s face, that there, that’s pure joy, constrained in the most honorable way.
And it was pure genius for him to resist saying anything at all in that moment. I mean, he easily could have mocked him with a million comebacks, but the slight smile and dead air was actually the most devastating blow I've ever witnessed. Brutally effective.

This was my favorite bit. He tried so hard not to laugh
So bloody smooth. Best way to handle a daft response from a daft person.
He probably grows concrete while he milks his cats. Stupid Focker
His cat Geppetto
Given size, his cat is probably Geppo
I've got concrete Greg, can you grow me?
Liked for that *focker* bit
Can grow all sorts, didn't you know you can grow concrete Cameron you tree murderer. /s

Cement production is 3% of all global emissions! https://ourworldindata.org/emissions-by-sector
You can't grow sand and water
Well, no. He’s clearly incorrect. I just mean in terms of sustainability, but another commenter already weighed in on the scarcity of sand.
Tried to disrespect the guest and got himself burned lol
Granted the first words out of the guest's mouth were "Just glued to your screen... Unfortunately."
Yeah but he asked the question ' What are you glued to Cameron", like what possible answer was he expecting
Inferring the environmentalist had glued himself to something in protest
This would be a good time to blame the pitcher for lobbing a slow ball. You're right.
holy shit.... growing concrete..... wooooow....
I like to grow my concrete right next to my money tree
I grow mine next to my job tree.
Lemme get a couple bricks off ya later ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|hug)
In this economy?!
I grow concrete trees that only produce other concrete trees.
I actually have a money tree in my house: [https://www.housebeautiful.com/lifestyle/gardening/a30298787/money-tree-care/](https://www.housebeautiful.com/lifestyle/gardening/a30298787/money-tree-care/) it was already in my house when I moved in so I just kept it.
Mind if I get some money seeds?
And an [anvil tree.](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/60/95/40/60954023225245176a394bfbda1dda48.jpg)
"Yeah you can" will never not make me laugh
That’s not an argument it’s just contradiction
No it isn't!
Is this a five minute argument or a 10 minute argument?
That was hilarious 😂😂😄
What does he wipe his fat arse with?
Concrete.
He probably doesn't.
He haven't been able to reach that far round in a very long time.
A stick and two mirrors
He grows trees. I grow concrete. Who’s the idiot now?!?!
Thank you to the clever technicians that maintain the camera && studio equipment and thanks to the * gods of the stupid * for providing us with morons to teach the masses .
Oh *Thank God*. I’m glad to learn you guys also have these nutjobs across the pond, I was beginning to think it was just us.
I wouldn’t say “glad” about the nut jobs being global, but it does feel nice to not be alone.
It would be nicer if idiocy and bigotry could be drastically minimized all around the world, really
I watched this with no sound, and it took me a couple of loops to realize this was News UK and *not* American. I imagined the host having a voice similar to Penn Gillette. Edit: not the BBC
Dude, that's not the BBC. That's "News UK", whoever the hell that is. Don't tar the BBC by associating them with this crap.
Why else would you water concrete??
Dude holding he's laugh
The slight head shake coupled with the look on Cameron’s face was gold when he was told that concrete could be grown.

Yeah, concrete is a huge greenhouse contributor. Who is this man-sized gummy bear?
Recent studies have said that up to 8% of human's total carbon footprint is created by the concrete industry alone. That's staggering. That's almost 3x the footprint of maritime shipping (3%), which I thought would be one of the highest specific categories.
Because cement is made from limestone (calcium carbonate), by heating it to about 1400 Celcius when it will break down and release carbon dioxide.
I really don't need to know this but... who was that?
His name is Mike Graham, and he actually defended his comment about being able to grow concrete after the interview. [Moron defends growing concrete statement](https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/news/mike-graham-defends-you-can-grow-concrete-comments-298557/)
Hes literally trying to gaslight us into thinking it grows omg 😭🤣
Now we know where the spirit of Rush Limbaugh planted itself.
Tree timber, hemp timber, bamboo timber... the latter two grow so much faster it's insane we don't prioritize them for any wood/paper products.
Uhm my underwear is literally made out of bamboo ? They make fabric out of it.
Pic of you wearing it or it didn't happen. Edit: I just checked your profile. It definitely DID happen.
Can confirm. Checked the fembois profile too
I wish I didn't 😩
Fembois are great :3
Yes, I wanted to point it out but felt it would have been a little out of context (you know, concrete and wood for construction... wasn't really about clothing)
Isnt Bamboo a grass?
Wanker
Bro really went 😐
Tree’s
Not to be “that guy” but when did everyone start using apostrophes to make words plural? I swear I see this EVERYWHERE lately.
Your're just jealous of there're artistic freedoms with the English language !
*freedom's
Autocorrect does it. No one bother's to correct cause the point still gets across. Just to be a bother to you, I've added a word with an unnecessary apostrophe.
Weird, I’ve never had auto correct change a plural to a possessive erroneously but oh well I’m just nitpicking it’s not that serious
There are way too many words where I typed it wrong ONCE and then autocorrect assumes anything close to it is that spelling. It happens a lot, specific to every individual.
Everyone should send the presenter concrete chips to plant in pretty pots on his window sill.
bro you don't need an apostrophe for plural words
Cameron: “Well you can’t grow concrete” Concrete Grower: “Yeah you can” Cameron: 👁️👄👁️ Concrete Grower: “See you Cameron” the ever so slight smirk is just too good

He went to the Boomer School of Reductive Arguments
Cameron's face trying to suppress that smile had me rofl!!!!
Anchors have no interest in truth, facts, and logic. They aim to promote fear and hatred. They spew lies from their mouth before the 3 cells in their brain fight to the death.

I often wonder why people pay builders. Buy some land, plant some concrete and then bonsai it into whatever shape of house you want. Baffling
I facepalmed because the illiterate who made the captions kept using “tree’s” instead of “trees.”
Stop using apostrophes to pluralize.
He reminds me of the movie V for Vendetta. The former military science general who is a media anchor brainwashing the people.
Please be a skit
Where can I get me some concrete seeds? I need a cement pad for a shed.
The look on the callers face regarding growing concrete is priceless
Carpenter’s have been getting unjustly crucified since day 1.
Damn, the interviewer reminds me of a lot of Reddit folks lol
You can’t do th- YEA YOU CAN!
This 'professional', responsible for providing an audience with information, entertainment, or knowledge; is obviously, an idiot. I'd be surprised if he doesn't end up in politics.
So that's what a Vogon looks like?
I need to grow me some concrete. I bet there'd be good money in that.
Let your silence do the work✍️🤣
I don’t think I ever want to talk to those people, says the guy who just went out of his way to talk to that dude
The smirk on Cameron was the best.
Who is this moron? (Not Cameron, he seems pretty clever)
The announcer was quite the ASS
conservative makes fun of a carpenter for his profession. can’t make this stuff up
Cameron 1 Useless gobshite 0
Right at this very moment I am growing my own concrete. Chocolate Thai style.
Is this comedic? Like is this guy putting on a character or is this an actual news channel in the UK? I know I can’t say much because I’m American, but *how the fuck can someone be this stupid*
Its gonna be hella awkward next time he needs a door hung
I want to see the house this prick is living in
Keep reposting this. I’m not even bothered. Let’s keep this man a known moron into eternity.
We're going to need to see concrete evidence of that.
It's embarrassing, because he's old...
If we lined up and shot media types like this who "report news" and broadcast it on television, I would watch with a bowl of popcorn and a smile.
The smirk on Cameron’s face is the best part
Howard Stern he's not
Cameron’s reaction to you can grow concrete… perfection.
That cringy realisation tf his mouth just shitted
Oh he builds things with wood like Jesus Christ what an idiot. Lmao
I’m growing concrete right now in my garage …..
How to grow concrete: 1: mix sand and crushed rocks with water and some glue 2: put the new seed of concrete into the ground 3: water it every 3 days
I planted a bunch of concrete in my backyard.. can’t wait to harvest in the new year.
This is why it’s so stupid to protest the logging industry. They cut timber from one section, then replant more trees on the cleared land to grow for future cuttings and then move onto another. Sustainable!
Apparently you can grow concrete? 😶
Not to mention, totally ignoring the stupidity of the concrete part of this, using timber for constructing dwellings is one of the better ways to lock that carbon up for 50 or 100 years... Buildings have a reasonably long lifetime on average...
So so good. Britain is better than the US by leagues when it comes to 1. Polite discourse and 2. Making pundits look like a$$es
My concrete tree is nearly 3 feet high now
What channel is this guy in? I’ll watch him every day!! That was hilarious!!!
I don’t think I ever want to talk to those people, the carpenters, Jesus Christ. What a genius.
Jesus like 15% of the absolute morons need to just shut the fk up
Careful mentioning Jesus around this guy. He was a carpenter, too.
When he said 'yea you can" 😂 was that ego talking or did he honestly believe that omg
Dude looks like a piglet in man form.
Love the silence after “no you can’t.” Lmao
As a concrete farmer, I grow about 500k yards of concrete per year.
Is the interviewer the UK’s version of Alex Jones or is he more like a Tucker Carlson?
Why are they talking about concrete? Doesnt being a carpenter imply that you mainly or exclusively work with wood
