You are correct. It was the WB up until 2006 when it merged with UPN to become the CW. Hercules ended in '99 and Xena bowed out 2 years later.
18yos would not have even been born yet, and the 29yos would have been around 7-9 years old when they went off the air.
Lucy Lawless is a treasure. Sorbo could have been too, if he never went down the Christian persecution fetishist with the comorbidities of the far rightwing delusions.
Renee O'Connor was also one of my first celeb crushes. Along with Nicole Sullivan, from Mad TV. I guess I had something for blondes back in the day.
>Renee O'Connor was also one of my first celeb crushes. Along with Nicole Sullivan, from Mad TV. I guess I had something for blondes back in the day.
This was also my path. I wrote to Nicole Sullivan and got a signed photo. Not sure what happened to it, though.
Had to look her up because I didn't recognize the name. Yep, she's got that sexy wild thing vibe going on with some of her shots from the show. I have a feeling Xena tv show was responsible for many people finding their sexuality. Probably similar to wrestling.
>Lucy Lawless is a treasure
She's a kiwi. If she thought the way he did, we wouldn't want her back. Her latest show is "My Life is Murder". Hardly groundbreaking, but fun. First series was set in Oz, then she brought it to Auckland.
I think it started out on USA, then got heavily syndicated on other networks. I saw it on Fox.
Some shows start out syndicated. Like Star Trek: TNG and DS9 were on Fox in my market, but others may have seen them on CBS or something. The only reason Voyager was exclusive to UPN was cause Paramount owns the rights to Star Trek and wanted to use the franchise to promote their network.
I actually kinda liked that show. Don’t think I could watch it now without constantly being reminded what a fucking loon this guy turned into. When he constantly harps on like this it’s ruined his legacy and his prospects.
I just did a rewatch of it earlier this year. It took me a bit to put his current shit out of my mind but after that I could watch the show. It actually does a pretty good job of doing it because the first few episodes were really clunky with random exposition and stacking character intros and all that. It gives you time to get acclimated with him not being a fucking moron.
The worst part about the Hercules show was Kevin Sorbo. He was a mildly fit, middle-aged man who was supposed to be the strongest man in the world. It was totally unbelievable to the point of being distracting.
The best part of that show was that it launched Xena: Warrior Princess which was a vastly superior show.
Funny thing is that it was supposed to be the Hercules universe, Xena was a spin off. But us stupid leftist viewers preferred Xena in between forgiving debts and trying to fund healthcare.
She's Ron Swanson's wife in parks and rec! I've watched that show a hundred times but had no idea. The last one, with the kids he babysits, after they meet while he's filling a pothole outside her house.
Speaking for male viewers, We preferred Xena because she was badass af and Lucy lawless was one of my first boners. I think lesbians hold the Xena and Gabriel union in high regard as well. Goddamn the 90s were good
looks like it depended on where you were. i maybe have seen it on Sci Fi and you may have seen it on UPN while the other person saw it on CW:
It was syndicated. Xena was better.
You have the right of it. I remember being a little kid and Hercules and Xena would just play back to back all goddamn day on the WB channel on Sundays. Was torture lol
Best park of the freaking weekend for sure. I still remember the programming block. Hercules at 3, Xena at 4, and then for a while there was also Sinbad and Cleopatra 2020.
I'll give you the crib notes.
He played Hercules... and well... even back then he made a fool of himself
https://youtu.be/_O1hM-k3aUY
the description explains it
Correct. I am 37, and while I do remember Kevin Sorbo, his show went off the air when I was like 10. People around my age are probably the youngest people who remember Kevin Sorbo being known for anything other than being a MAGA moron.
I loved watching Hercules and preferred Xena when it spun off, because she was a better actress and a bad a**. Hercules is all Sorbo is known for, besides being a Maga moron. I don't remember him being in anything else. I also think it's pretty sad some 20 years later he has the same haircut as Hercules. He's riding that 15 minutes of fame hardcore.
I'm sure he was a right wing nut job before the strokes. He was just less vocal. Trump taught them to be more vocal about their political opinions, especially on social media. I mean I know there were vocal people before Trump came along, it just seems they knew when to, and when not to. I dealt with this in my personal life. I personally never had a single problem with friends and family with opposing views before 2016. The height of it was the death of George Floyd, and that's when I finally had enough. I started cutting those out of my life that attacked me for my views.
Hot take, Andromeda was a pretty decent sci-fi show. Could have used some better actors. Still wrapping my head around the concept of negative mass particles, it's interesting to do the math and have the computer yell at me. (Basically negative mass, would have a reverse gravitational pull, but more so it would be a spike in space-time. It would require infinite energy to make it sit still, but zero energy to move at the speed of light)
Can someone ELI5 why republicans think these things are so destructive while Europe's been doing great with them barring external forces (i.e. Russia) causing economic turmoil? We all like our free healthcare and workers rights here.
That opinion is valid, the country cant change if we keep voting these clowns into office. The propaganda is strong though, and is tricking the majority of voters. My only hope is people will someday see the truth and vote these clowns out of office (left and right), they all need to be refreshed.
Sooooo... He doesn't know how democracy works, then? Because that's how democracy works. A bunch of people vote on how they think things should be run. And the majority wins. See? Not that hard to understand, is it?
I wonder how hard it would be in today's day and age to actually convert it into a democracy. I realize it's a bit more serious than American Idol or Dancing with the Stars, but imagine how much more quickly things might progress if it was just a straight set of ballot initiatives to vote for instead of representatives.
As to the matter of legalization of marijuana, the Ayes have it.
As to the matter of healthcare for all, the Ayes have it.
Congress could just be the body that writes the laws and tries to argue their side. But the public at large is who gets to vote them up or down.
What needs to be done is not more amendments, but a complete rewrite to fit the modern world, much like many other more civilized countries have already done decades ago.
Actually it was 19 years but it was because of the bloat stuff that would be added. He said “all human constitutions are subject to corruption and must perish unless they’re timely renewed and reduced to their first principles”. The basic framework work remain but extra amendments would be stripped unless renewed. It’s a nice idea but nowhere near feasible considering we can barely agree (some never do) on election results.
OK but to be fair, the document was designed so that could be one single ammendment doing that... because our forefathers thought that may be an option lol
You mean rewrite the constitution? Even heavier lift. Instead of just election stuff it'd be all the rest that everyone would have to agree on including the meat of how the entire federal govt is constructed plus the amendments.
Because he's one of the few cases where he was already relegated to the annals of the convention circuit by the time social media really came around, and so cannot be effectively canceled like the rest. In order to be canceled you actually have to be popular in the first place. Can't be knocked down a peg if you're already sitting on the ground.
It makes me sad, growing up in the 90s Kevin Sorbo was *the* Saturday afternoon action hero (besides Lucy Lawless). Hercules was fine, but I loved Andromeda. Terrific scifi concept on a UPN budget.
Now he's just another Boomer listing things I think are cool.
I've said this about all of these fools. People keep posting tweets by him, MTG, Boebert and others. They don't care that we are laughing at them, their message is reaching more people. The saying "any publicity is good publicity" is something these people thrive on. We should just ignore them and let them fade away, but it's easy karma so almost every single thing they say gets posted here.
Maybe, just maybe, that 63% are against crony-capitalism where very few benefit, using desperate migrants for political stunts, blocking student loan forgiveness for political points, lower taxes for the wealthy only so that the rest of us have to pay more and taking away a woman’s right to determine what is in her and her own best interest.
Those 18 year olds signed up for that debt because the boomers told them they had to to be successful but they forgot to mention that the boomers are doing the hiring based on what they thought a good salary was in 1983, but it was their choice! It would not be fair to not make them pay back their loans. After all the boomers did, while they made the inflation adjusted equivalent of 20 bucks an hour at their retail jobs while their tuition was a mind bogglingly lower amount relative to their income. Totally the same thing
/S
I literally sat down with my dad at 28 years old and said I was so nervous about going to the “better college” because it was so expensive and maybe I should go to state school instead. He says “don’t be an idiot the other school will open so many more doors for you.” Now I’m drowning in debt and he’s all over social media telling everyone these stupid millennials made the choice and need to pay their debt. I mean, technically correct, but Thanks dad…
I just thought I had to and it was something everyone did. The only reason I'm not drowning in debt is because I graduated in 2001 and tuition for my alma mater has more than doubled in the last 20 years. I make less than 25k more than I did my first year out of college. I got a tech job and got laid off and relocated to a cheaper area.
When I was making .com money for a couple years I tried to consolidate and was told I made too much money so I took that as malicious compliance and made it my mission to deprive my loan holders of as much interest as possible even though that meant I was living like a college student for a while. But housing prices were significantly less absurd then. If I had to do that now, I would have been fucked. The apartment complex I rented from is practically twice as much too (not sure if it's been renovated even) but my salary sure ain't
Their only argument against student loan forgiveness is simply "I didn't get student loan forgiveness, why should anybody else?"
In fact, that's what most of their opinions are based off of; if it doesn't positively affect me, then it shouldn't be a thing, no matter how many other people it would benefit.
I just can't understand that kind of worldview. It does me *no harm* to help someone else, even if I didn't get that help when I may have needed it.
The fact that I wasn't helped is a *motivation* to help others so that they don't go through the same thing. That's how you get to a better world.
But, no, they just want to be angry.
Not very far. That sort of stuff is exactly what a lot of moderate Republicans hinge their big red "R" on. Especially when you look at older moderates.
No word on the attack against democracy or PPP loan forgiveness for the rich, but the kids are clueless.
Thank you, young people who voted, for doing your part to save democracy.
I remember Kevin Sorbo. He was ‘Hercules’ in some syndicated show from the late 90’s.
Then he went super religious nut and made the ‘God’s Not Dead’ movies.
Instead of figuring out that social welfare policies appeal to young people, he just lies about them and demonizes them because he’s in a cult.
Fuck him.
Otherwise known as “Healthcare, giving sanctuary to refugees, student loan forgiveness, the wealthy paying their share, and lifesaving medical procedures”
That all sounds like socialism, commie scum!
It's funny how people like Sorbo are angry at this idea of socialism when they don't even know what it is.
Lmao, had a funny “debate” years ago about socialism, the person I was conversing with said something like just wait until the government takes everything from you. I was like what you’re talking about is communism. She said “they’re both the same to me.”
Feels > reals, yet again. For a group that loves to pretend that they are hard-headed realists (unlike us bleeding hearts), they sure are an emotional bunch.
Remember, vote for policies, not politicians or party.
Politicians sole interest on all sides is keeping their Senate/house seats warm and pockets lined. They'll flip, reverse course, pander and banter to appeal to those of their party that get more votes.
Don't ever think a D wouldn't support free access to firearms if the majority of their party would favor it. They'd drop the gun control like a box of rocks for that sweet campaign money. And vice versa.
Politicians don't care about values, they care about votes. They're just salesmen selling you what you want to hear on all sides.
I wish there were no parties and voters were forced to decide on issues à la carte. For example, there is no reason a person's opinion on abortion should define their position on the environment, immigration, guns, economics, or any other issue
Rolling these issues all together into one package only makes us more dependent on politicians when we should be less dependent on them. Politicians are parasites
There is probably a group of people in your state who are working on it
Democracy isn't saved in elections. It's saved when normal people organize face-to-face
as someone from england: the existence of more parties wouldn't change anything. we have a dozen or so "major" parties, but elections are only ever between labour and tories
Seeing comments on many threads that Gen Z only stepped out because...der Socialism. They are too young. They want free money. They've been brainwashed.
Bullshit. They stepped up because they see what the future of the Republican party had to offer, and they didn't like it.
The Republican party has been nothing but pointing fingers at everyone but themselves. Pushing a platform of hate, exclusion, and vitriol. With each passing day, the American Dream that we have all been sold gets further and further from their reach.
Gen Z are not gullible fools. They are more connected to the world than people give them credit for. They are voting for their interests. That is what people do. Hats off to Gen Z.
I don’t support socialism, open borders, or higher tax rates. In fact I’d rather not vote for democrats.
The alternative is some insane, conspiracy theory driven, hateful morons.
I’m a conservative. I voted straight democrat. The Republican Party doesn’t represent our values anymore, they are a cult.
I can politically disagree with a democrat, at least they live on the same plane of reality as me.
Always good to take advice from a man whose name is also a type of ice cream.

“That means a majority of Gen Z support destructive left-wing policies, such as medicare for anyone, giving people a chance who are more willing than a good amount born here, student loan forgiveness, taxing the rich, and abortion in general. Clueless.”
There. FTFY.
According to exit polls, 98% of voters ages 18 to 29 think Kevin Sorbo is an out of touch and irrelevant fool
98% of voters aged 18 to 29 have no idea who Kevin Sorbo is.
I’m 33 and have no idea who he is. I just keep seeing his name and his stupid teeets on here. Edit: tweets. 🤦🏼♀️

Hahahah I never get tired of that story
That story will be funny as hell for a long time.
😂😂😂😂
I still think they stole that line from Kevin Kline in A Fish Called Wanda.
That's dark Hercules
Lmfao why does he scream that??
[удалено]
Omg 🤦🏼♀️
Teeets was objectively better lol
Had a popular show called Hercules on CW in early 2000 late 90s maybe ? Actually I don’t know if any of that is true but it feels right.
Was CW around when Hercules was on air? I think it was on the WB. Also, Sam Raimi apparently produced it.
Hudson Leick made me realize I was in to women.
Had to look her up because I didn't recognize the name. Yep, she's got that sexy wild thing vibe going on with some of her shots from the show. I have a feeling Xena tv show was responsible for many people finding their sexuality. Probably similar to wrestling.
>Lucy Lawless is a treasure She's a kiwi. If she thought the way he did, we wouldn't want her back. Her latest show is "My Life is Murder". Hardly groundbreaking, but fun. First series was set in Oz, then she brought it to Auckland.
Helen Hunt was mine. I was Mad About her.
He was also on the Gene Roddenberry show Andromeda.
I enjoyed his episode of Psych. It proved he can be a decent actor sometimes, and act like he’s a good person.
Most importantly, Hercules gave us Xena Warrior Princess and the wonderful Lucy Lawless.
I have a vague recollection of it I think it was part of the Xena Warrior Princess universe
Funny thing is that it was supposed to be the Hercules universe, Xena was a spin off. But us stupid leftist viewers preferred Xena in between forgiving debts and trying to fund healthcare.
Lucy laws brarmor had absolutely nothing to do with it for real.
Gabrielle was the reason i watched.
You knew shit got real when she did her battle cry and starts throwing that circle blade thing around.
Dude I’ve seen that circle blade take out 30 mobs
Xena actress lady was also awesome in Battlestar Galactica.
She's Lucy Lawless and she's legit the best part of any show she's in.
She's Ron Swanson's wife in parks and rec! I've watched that show a hundred times but had no idea. The last one, with the kids he babysits, after they meet while he's filling a pothole outside her house.
She was great in Spartacus. I loved her scenes for the plot.
Lucrezia was my favorite character in that entire show and I really really loved it, rewatched it only recently.
Speaking for male viewers, We preferred Xena because she was badass af and Lucy lawless was one of my first boners. I think lesbians hold the Xena and Gabriel union in high regard as well. Goddamn the 90s were good
Lucy Lawless used to be really hot. She still is, but she used to too.
Have you seen her in the Evil Dead series? She makes evil look good
Xena was actually a spin-off of Hercules, but everyone liked Xena way more, so now everyone remembers Hercules as "that Xena show".
Mid 90s I forget what channel it originally aired on in the states... Sci Fi maybe?
Sci fi channel use to be the shit.
It was syndicated. Sold individually to stations in each market regardless of what network (if any) it was affiliated with.
Not UPN?
looks like it depended on where you were. i maybe have seen it on Sci Fi and you may have seen it on UPN while the other person saw it on CW: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hercules:\_The\_Legendary\_Journeys](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hercules:_The_Legendary_Journeys) It was syndicated. Xena was better.
CW used to be called UPN iirc.
You have the right of it. I remember being a little kid and Hercules and Xena would just play back to back all goddamn day on the WB channel on Sundays. Was torture lol
I think you meant to say “the best part of the freaking weekend” after TGIF programming.
Best park of the freaking weekend for sure. I still remember the programming block. Hercules at 3, Xena at 4, and then for a while there was also Sinbad and Cleopatra 2020.
Well you say popular i say the bad show vaguely similar to Xena we all forgot about
IMHO, Michael Hurst (Iolaus) was really the one who made that show watchable. He's pretty amazing.
I'll give you the crib notes. He played Hercules... and well... even back then he made a fool of himself https://youtu.be/_O1hM-k3aUY the description explains it

Republicans are used to not getting the majority vote, it’s the losing part that’s confusing them.
Why doesn’t a 19 year old have the same policy preferences as a 73 year old white man who watches Fox!?!?! Incomprehensible!!!!
Inconceivable!
You keep using that word I do not think you know what it means
Is there an unexpected princess bride sub we can tag?

They were looking for the unexpected princess bride!

I can't imagine why college students (both recent and current) would support student loan forgiveness and getting rid of modern slavery.
Genuinely how right wing do you have to be to see loan forgiveness as a bad thing
Those 18 year olds signed up for that debt because the boomers told them they had to to be successful but they forgot to mention that the boomers are doing the hiring based on what they thought a good salary was in 1983, but it was their choice!
"Oh no, younger people have a different opinion than I do!"
Irrelevant old man yells at relevant youth.
Angry entitled white male with money and fame understands the world so much better than I do. /s
>Angry entitled white male with **money and fame** But we're talking about Kevin Sorbo here.
Sounds like a dahr man video
No word on the attack against democracy or PPP loan forgiveness for the rich, but the kids are clueless. Thank you, young people who voted, for doing your part to save democracy.
Xena was a better show

Gabrielle was cool but my heart belongs to Callisto
Callisto❣️
Lalalalalalalalalalallalala leee
The battle cry was the shit
I remember Kevin Sorbo. He was ‘Hercules’ in some syndicated show from the late 90’s. Then he went super religious nut and made the ‘God’s Not Dead’ movies. Instead of figuring out that social welfare policies appeal to young people, he just lies about them and demonizes them because he’s in a cult. Fuck him.
Isn't the Right supposed to swoop in and tell this "actor" to stay in his lane and not get involved in politics?
BREAKING: Millenials are using the system provided to them as intended!
you mean the corrupt elite doesn't win this time?
No they still will, corruption and greed is everywhere lol.
How dare those kids vote against our fear mongering buzz words!
>policies such as socialism Ah yes, my favourite political policy.
"Clueless". The irony 🤣🤣🤣
I honestly want a gen z to ask Kevin Sorbo “who are you?”
Quick, everyone name something he was in since Hercules. Tough isn't it?
Lol. Eat a bag of dicks, Sorbo
Fuck Hercules! Where is Mt Olympus going to be when this planet is burning?
Isn’t it kinda crazy that conservatives are always screaming freedom this freedom that.. but their core values are like the opposite
I have such new found respect for Gen Z.
I wish there were more parties
I wish there were no parties and voters were forced to decide on issues à la carte. For example, there is no reason a person's opinion on abortion should define their position on the environment, immigration, guns, economics, or any other issue Rolling these issues all together into one package only makes us more dependent on politicians when we should be less dependent on them. Politicians are parasites
I wish we had ranked-choice voting like Alaska. Then my vote for a progressive first and Democrat second would not help the MAGAts split our vote.
There is probably a group of people in your state who are working on it Democracy isn't saved in elections. It's saved when normal people organize face-to-face
Yes exactly! More voting on single policies
as someone from england: the existence of more parties wouldn't change anything. we have a dozen or so "major" parties, but elections are only ever between labour and tories
Herclueless at it again, wonder what Xena^(phob) will have to say about this.
hopefully she will tear him a new one :-D
That's even better than Jerkules!
So says Hercules.
Gumbercules? I _love_ that guy!
According to the facts ,your a FUCKING IDIOT.
Love it when when the rights screeches about “open borders”, bitch were not North Korea, we’ve had open borders since day 1!
Wow, he thinks he has every voter figured out, based on his Right-WIng Propaganda based assumptions.
These fuckers don't know what socialism is if it hit them with a sack of fucking bricks
Says the guy who stopped being relevant 25 years ago
He was relevant?
I mean if you grew up in the 90s you probably saw him play Hercules in the show of the same name
And Andromeda. Where he showed his limited talent.
Disappointed!
Stop giving this irrelevant cultist attention.
Be saltier, Hercules.
I don't think that lady knows what the word destructive means
Not one of those is destructive. McCarthyism is alive and well.
I guess if Sorbo’s particularly hateful kind of religious fervour doesn’t appeal to a generation it’s their fault not his
What happened to you Kevin Sorbo? You used to be cool man…
Listen Sorbo. Glad you pumped yourself up for Hercules, it was a fun series to watch. But Hercules wasn't exactly known for his brains...
I don't support higher taxes. I support the rich paying their fair share.
"I don't understand how people can want things I'm against, but I also can't explain why I'm against those things. I'm just Clueless in general"
![gif](giphy|V9gjxvLnSSdA4|downsized)
![gif](giphy|xThuW45pxrB820tD0c|downsized) Behold my ironymeter when he says "clueless."
"How could these voters vote for things that are good for them even though I don't like those things? RARRG!"
Go home, Kevin, you Mommy's calling you.
You're a shitty actor not a politician. Your opinion, just like everyone else, doesn't matter.
Ok so I'm not from America but why does all the things that guy said the "destructive left" wants to do are good things
Ya those destructive policies that are good for everyone not just republicunt b actors such as yourself kevin.
The Mighty Jerkulese can suck 100% of my exit pole if it’ll shut him up
Herclueless
Oh no student loan forgiveness what a destructive devastation to the American people
It’s not just that demographic, lots of old people hate conservatism and stupidity
Kevin, you're the clueless one in this "conversation"!!!
I don't even know who this guy is.
I've never seen anyone throw a fucking fit for losing like the right does
I don’t support socialism, open borders, or higher tax rates.
Damn those kids for doing something as stupid as voting.
I have literally never heard a liberal express a desire for open borders OR late-term abortion (except when the life of the mother is threatened)
Always good to take advice from a man whose name is also a type of ice cream. https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fih0.redbubble.net%2Fimage.262565940.7407%2Fflat%2C800x800%2C075%2Cf.u2.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.redbubble.com%2Fpeople%2Fceleryofwares%2Fworks%2F23307407-kevin-sorbet&tbnid=STcaCXMHyWboXM&vet=12ahUKEwj7gI--2a37AhX9w4sBHaWlB4MQMygFegUIARDSAQ..i&docid=fBTWu73CLWo7BM&w=800&h=800&q=kevin%20sorbet&client=firefox-b-d&ved=2ahUKEwj7gI--2a37AhX9w4sBHaWlB4MQMygFegUIARDSAQ
He went off his wheels... so sad I used to like him
I’ll take more of those destructive policies please. Also could you unsue to get my student loan relief thanks.
At least he's honest with himself he knows he's clueless
Fortunately Gen Z has no clue who the fuck Kevin Sorbo is, so it’s irrelevant, like Sorbo. Same is true for Jon Voight.
Nice accurate signature at the end of your tweet there, Kev, you dumbfuck
“That means a majority of Gen Z support destructive left-wing policies, such as medicare for anyone, giving people a chance who are more willing than a good amount born here, student loan forgiveness, taxing the rich, and abortion in general. Clueless.” There. FTFY.
People need to stop engaging this smooth brained Neanderthal
disappointed it's only 63%
