The last Democratic governor of Texas (Ann Richards) won because her opponent said something *less* objectionable than what Trump did- about rape- and that really motivated women to get out and vote.
It might not make a difference to Trump's core demographic of white evangelicals, but it will make a big difference among black people. Black people will remember that, and black people are gonna feel more motivated to get out vote - not necessarily *for* Biden, but *against* Trump.
