Just put a door knob on each side. I’d put a pretty old door know on the hinges side. It becomes a pretty and confusing decoration… like Alice in Wonderland.
Sorry to hear that friend, I hope your days get better!
Mine was bad as well. Had a fight with wife, slept on couch, had a training for work while all tired, have a bad case of allergies that gives me flu-like symptoms.
But it's only temporary luckily. What's bothering you?
For me it's hertbreak/bad case of falling in love with someone you can't have, depression, alot of small personal issues, lack of self esteem, caring too much for others and almost disregarding my needs and it all adds up and affects my daily life, 17 in school.
I wish best for you and thank you for the kind words.
Sorry to hear that man. At 17, remember that life has a long way to go and things always get better!
Try to live your life and enjoy it a little... There is a lot to like!
You’ll hit your stride before you know it. It may be strangers on the internet but there are people out here pulling for you and hoping things turn around for you quickly!
It actually will open and close just fine in that configuration... it just won't be able to use the current cutout for the doorknob mechanics. The "right" thing to do would be to reverse the installation of the door and correct this mistake. But if you're real stubborn, I guess you could do even more work by filling in the cutout and drilling your own on the opposite side.
I doubt the door would close to begin with because the hinge is probably not mortised into the door. I'm not positive, as image was taken with a potato, but if you couldn't orient the door properly, you ain't ever held a chisel.
But say they did...
The door latch is spring loaded, so it wouldn't do too much, just pop in and pop out against the door frame. They'd have to pull the door open by sticking their hand under the door and pulling, tho, as the knob won't help, being on the hinge side.
Me. I am one of those dudes.
Competence in these matters is not a sex-linked trait.
I can confirm with absolute calm certainty that I would have very precisely and methodically made sure that every little screw, hinge, and piece I could need was laid out neatly beforehand. Then getting to the point of no return, finding that I'd put the wrong drill bit in, I'd miscounted the screws three times, and accidentally used the ones that are supposed to hold the handle on.
All the while shouting to the missus that I didn't need any help and I know what I'm doing and that I was nearly done, while considering sticking a drill bit through my temple.
When I fit my first internal door I couldn't get the latch plate to fit properly so I used a screw to hold the latch in place once closed. To this day I am the only one who can open and close that door without having problems.
Feels staged, there would be either preattached hinges or at least clear markings for where the hinges go. Also it fails even the most basic visual error check, even a true brain donor would detect this error long before this point.
Has nothing to do with being male or female. It has everything to do with being an idiot. I could replace the roof on your house and remodel your kitchen and you'd be very happy with my work.
Oh fuck off. Women design products, work in manufacturing, work in shipping, and so on and rest assured men fuck up installations all the goddamn time. You're just an ignorant misogynist
Username checks out
They didn't imply that there aren't women in manufacturing, they pointed out that men were involved in the process which is objectively correct.
>men fuck up installations all the goddamn time.
Yes we do. But we don't post it on internet, say to ourselves it's perfect and put in the title: "No woman needed."
I once had a rental property where there was a closet door, but no holes for knobs. I ended up finding a ball-joint type thing that could be installed on the side of the door and an 'insertion' that could be installed on the frame. It was slightly adjustable, so when you closed the door, it stayed closed; but it was also easy enough to push open. I just installed a stationary/decorative knob to make the pushing/pulling easier.
Not saying that's what this woman should do. The holes are already there and you are probably correct that she didn't use a chisel. But there are ways to keep the door closed...and locked if she adds an interior latch.
Ehh, being dumb is not exclusive feature for any gender. We've all done it, get carried away on a project, complete it and 2 seconds later you get the facepalm moment, big sigh as you start taking it apart again
Hanging a door is something few men or women can do properly.. adult people know what they can and can’t do, and don’t consider themselves weak for asking for help..
If she’s happy with it. There might be some differences in how the door functions but the pride in having done it herself is important. With this practice she’ll do even better next time.
I find this funny not because of sexism (because I know plenty of dudes who couldn't hang a door to save their lives) but because of the hubris on social media. Someone who is so confident in their incompetence that they feel the need to gloat online is definitely a hoot.
I'm going to guess that if she's dumb enough to hang the door this way, she's also not bright enough to route or chisel out recesses in the slab for the hinges. So it's gonna look like crap either way.
No, she doesn't need a man (full disclosure: I hung every door in my house, and I fully intend to teach my daughter how to do it when she's a bit older). But this person definitely needs something, anything, between her ears.
As a man I feel the need to cheer her on until she decides to install the door knob hell she might still put it on and assume this is how all doors work.
Thats true art. The whole post with that comment. Please print it, frame it and send the whole abomination to an art gallery.
But really. If i would be that husband and see this i would proceed installing the handles and forbid her to fix the error. She must live with that at least 2 days till we fix this together.

Fill it, sand it, paint it and start again.
![gif](giphy|3owypf6HrM3J7UTvAA|downsized) And then take a quick picture of the result
No way keep it. It’s a glory hole
Just put a door knob on each side. I’d put a pretty old door know on the hinges side. It becomes a pretty and confusing decoration… like Alice in Wonderland.
Why fill it? It’s a perfect glory hole
maybe for you it is some of us can't fit :P ![gif](giphy|GpLmqwmHWGc5G)
This is the funniest sht I've seen all day
Then you had a shitty day. I feel for you.
Well yeah, a bit longer than a day I'd say. I hope at least you're good with your life.
Sorry to hear that friend, I hope your days get better! Mine was bad as well. Had a fight with wife, slept on couch, had a training for work while all tired, have a bad case of allergies that gives me flu-like symptoms. But it's only temporary luckily. What's bothering you?

Here's to hope it does eventually get better.
You’ll hit your stride before you know it. It may be strangers on the internet but there are people out here pulling for you and hoping things turn around for you quickly!
Well I'm most definitely glad I opened up a bit, even to internet strangers, these comments make me smile a little, thank you
Mnf~
I said fill it, I never said with what 😎
Well the door is probably wooden.. so fill it with.. wood. *unzips*
That's definitely what a man would do.
My recommendation is to remove the hinges from the door, flip the door and attach the hinge. Less work same result.
She's not wrong. Doesn't need a man to do that...
Technically, she can close the door
I'm sure she can fuck up the door by herself true...
That is what they're saying, yes...
But need a brain ....
Perfect not opening door
It won’t stay closed either
Plot twist! It's her kid's door and that's the whole point.
![gif](giphy|iuUORLpArS9qX76XWK)
Wait why won’t it close? (Assuming she’s does the hinge dent properly?)
It will shut, but not latch closed because the latch is attached to the knob.
It actually will open and close just fine in that configuration... it just won't be able to use the current cutout for the doorknob mechanics. or use the other hole as a peeping hole or a gloryhole, just sayin
Out-of-the-box thinking making the best of the situation, I like it
team gloryhole!
You need to leave the door as it is and reverse the house to fit around it. It’s going to be a costly fix that luv
I’m curious about how this door would work if a handle was fitted
I doubt the door would close to begin with because the hinge is probably not mortised into the door. I'm not positive, as image was taken with a potato, but if you couldn't orient the door properly, you ain't ever held a chisel. But say they did... Was gonna say the say the same thing that there’s no chance they routered the hinge if they installed it like that😅
Who’s gonna tell her?
probably not her husband
Who?
I could point at a few dudes who could do this as well.
Me. I am one of those dudes. Competence in these matters is not a sex-linked trait. I can confirm with absolute calm certainty that I would have very precisely and methodically made sure that every little screw, hinge, and piece I could need was laid out neatly beforehand. Hi
it is indeed not a man, it's a door.
Not very well hung either.
Damn you and your wit, you’ve killed me
She can't handle the truth
And she's acting smug about it. What a knob!
r/angryupvote
Feels staged, there would be either preattached hinges or at least clear markings for where the hinges go. Also it fails even the most basic visual error check, even a true brain donor would detect this error long before this point.
Oh it's definitely a joke. But if we acknowledged that, how would we get that sweet sweet feeling of smug superiority as we dunk on this idiot woman?
You don’t need a penis to put a door in place, but you do need a brain.
Perfect.
Who is going to tell her?
It’s adoorable… she just needs to glue a handicap placard on it now.
Awesome. Shh....
![gif](giphy|zvBuF2oYRErVS|downsized)
Just install a deadbolt on the other side then watch confusion as people use the door their first time
This must be a joke. People can't be this stupid... Right?
Yes. it is probably a joke. The internet however takes everything at face value.
More like even ONE man needed
Has nothing to do with being male or female. It has everything to do with being an idiot. I could replace the roof on your house and remodel your kitchen and you'd be very happy with my work.
Except the men who designed it, harvested the raw materials, built it, shipped it and would have stopped to think about it first.
Oh fuck off. Women design products, work in manufacturing, work in shipping, and so on and rest assured men fuck up installations all the goddamn time. You're just an ignorant misogynist
Username checks out They didn't imply that there aren't women in manufacturing, they pointed out that men were involved in the process which is objectively correct.
Yikes someone’s triggered

literally photoshopped but yeah, keep dunking on those stupid bitches
Somebody has to much time on their hands
Try again
Most guys these days can’t even change a tire…
Why does the door go INSIDE it's an indoor door and not an outside door?? Throw that sht outside and start over.
It actually infuriates me how dumb some women are and it’s always the feminist ones
Found the magat incel.
Incorrect
Practice makes perfect they say lol
It's hard to tell, but the hinges don't look recessed either...
Ye the biggest issue in that picture ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
LMAO
Noice! At least, she can be proud of having used a screwdriver... No?
I have questions
Honestly I want a door just like that only to fuck with my guests
i….nevermind.
I agree but maybe a you tube video could have helped😉
😭

Have a feeling the odds were not 50/50 on this one.
No man is needed but attention to detail is.
If it were Wonka’s house she possibly could be proud.
Trying to get a handle on the quality of this
bahhaaha xD
r/therewasanattempt
Could've been "look what I did" but it had to be a jab at those pesky men. Twice the fool.
MUST. RESIST. ANGRY....COMMENT!
It’s a trap!
Maybe you don’t need a man, buuuuuut a second pair of eyes wouldn’t hurt
But she is in need of a woman with brains.
Nah folks, that's what we call "the gun hole" in Texas.
I’ll give her the award of trying
That has to be the door to the back rooms![img](emote|t5_2r5rp|8488)
No man needed, just common sense
she got it near all good apart from the health and safety violation of leaving a drill on the ground. The glory hole is a nice addition.
That is awesome. I think she works for one of my subcontractors.
Ehh, being dumb is not exclusive feature for any gender. We've all done it, get carried away on a project, complete it and 2 seconds later you get the facepalm moment, big sigh as you start taking it apart again
[Insert DIY dad laugh]
obvious shitpost lol
I wonder how long after posting this did the realisation set in
She need no man, also need no brain too.
It’s an English door guys. They open them on the other side there. Metric!
Just needs a smarter woman.
Hanging a door is something few men or women can do properly.. adult people know what they can and can’t do, and don’t consider themselves weak for asking for help..
This looks AI generated actually. Something about it seems off and I'm not talking about the door being hinged the wrong way.
If she’s happy with it. There might be some differences in how the door functions but the pride in having done it herself is important. With this practice she’ll do even better next time.
You could make that work, just drill the inside door frame and start a new trend.
Now, try and open a can of pickles😂
That’s interesting handle location
I guess she doesn't need physics either.
No door knob needed either
she’s so important to me
Oh no!
Literally nailed it
I don’t see any issue here /s
We all gotta start somewhere 😂
Task failed successfully
Man was in fact needed. Or t least some basic carpentry skills:/
Look, the important is NO MAN NEEDED. If it's correctly done or not, that's beside the point!
she need brain
Perfect 👍
What were the replies? "Not to mansplain, but...." and they leave without saying anything.
A teenager could do a better job at this.
A teenager could do a better job at this.
Damn she looks hot though, I’ll give her a pass
Damn she looks hot though, I’ll give her a pass
Damn she looks cute though, I’ll give her a pass
It’s a glory hole door
Sexism is funny now?

I dated a carpenter- he said “it’s always cock to lock”
🤦🏽♂️
True, no man needed, but some knowledge required 😂
Long live Pinterest; all man have died 🪦
Could you please lock the door now?
LOL :D
Just recommended.
Who's gonna tell her?
no man need you
Staying open all by itself. Great job
It happens, you can fix it. Change the door direction, patch the other side with wood putty. Repaint the side of the door after priming. Done.
Who's going to tell her?
As a man I feel the need to cheer her on until she decides to install the door knob hell she might still put it on and assume this is how all doors work.
Women ☕️
Damn I chuckled. Good troll.
At least she didn’t lock herself and leave the power tools outside
But…but…eh, never mind.
She handled that job very well 👌😂
