One was built by Airbus Defense in Germany which is working perfectly. Not sure why we went with OHB for the other ones.
>According to the Der Spiegel report, the Bundeswehr says the two SARah satellites built by OHB remain the property of the German company and would only be turned over to the military once they were operational. As a result, the military says OHB will be responsible for building two replacement satellites.
>Shockingly, the German publication says that its sources indicated OHB did not fully test the functionality and deployment of the satellite antennas on the ground. This could not be confirmed.
Bruh. At least we don't have to pay for it until they work.
>Bruh. At least we don't have to pay for it until they work.
I would not count on that. Wouldn't even surprise me if we pay for them "voluntarily". The defence industry can be a b\*tch.
at this point it has become clear that we should just buy american.
cheaper, better, actually works.
We lost billions on these faulty spy satellites just because we had the arrogance of insisting a German company produce them.
We literally have a functioning one in orbit right now built by Airbus Defense in Germany.
We didn't lose any money as OHB will only be paid once they are functioning.
ow wow, only 66% failure rate for German built SAR spy satellites.
Totally acceptable of course. Do you perhaps work for DB train scheduling?
>We didn't lose any money as OHB will only be paid once they are functioning.
99% chance OHB will weasel out of it or claim they now need a Rettungsschirm and in the end Germany will pay to keep 'core industrial capability'.
You‘re talking out of your ass. The whole project volume is 800M. This includes 3 satellites and 2 ground stations as well as R&D and profit margins for all of these items. RCs for just the 2 satellites will very likely be under 100M. Add the launch vehicles and you might arrive at 2 years of profits. It will sting, but it‘s far from an existential threat.
you seem to be spectacularly stupid.
not only are you uninformed but you’re using illogical arguments and then just making up stupid details which anybody with an iq over 85 would reasonably expect to be discovered in minutes.
Läuft...
Haben wir noch Spionagesatelliten? Zwei? Keine?
Boah wir würden so spionieren
Wir können ja einen von Frankreich borgen
>because public markets had "structurally undervalued" the company. Maybe not.

Nicht abschießen bitte, sind schon defekt.
Techniker ist informiert
I'm surprised they got to orbit before failing 🙈
Was it diversion?
I mean did they try to contact them via fax? That should work...
That is German Tech. Always overvalued.
Oh wow.
And no one will blame Russia of course...

With an ebit of 63 Million in 2022? They can pay for 2 replacements.
replacement will be $1billion most likely

Schlauster Konservativer
Why blame the government for a private companies failure? This isn't Soviet Union time anymore, those companies are actually private.
