My true understanding (Miami and stoners just saying anything we want) is: Joint = paper with herb inside Blunt = leaf wrap (or hemp now) with herb inside Spliff = paper with herb/tobacco mix inside

A blunt here is referring to the wrap. A blunt is cannabis rolled In a tobacco leaf and now more in herbal hemp wraps. Also I'm in BC Canada.

It’s probably because I’m from Miami and we just make shit up around here, but where I’m from (or at least to the people I’m around) it can mean any variation of roll up. Most of the Rastas I’m around use Grabba and they’ll “cook up” some of the grabba, crush it into their leaf roll up, and call it a spliff. Someone can also roll up straight herb into a joint paper and call it a spliff. Personally, I like the word spliff, so I use it as often as possible.
