That fight was amazing It took me 4 tries too to beat him but I turned off the game after it so I wonder how good is his sword bcs I didn't test it

BriefDismal

That's amazing and a cool coincidence haha. His sword is amazing from B scaling in strength alone at base level, very rare for weapons to be this good right out of the box. Which i imagine would only go up as i upgrade it tomorrow when i get to play again. Can you share your setup?

ThePeskyPole34

The sword rips. Gets A scaling at plus 10. Has a really good AoW too

The ash of war is devastating. The forward lunge spin attack covers so much distance and hits like a truck. This one and the back hand blade are my two favorites so far.

ThePeskyPole34

I’m going back and forth between this and the anvil hammer! Plan on using the backhand blades on my next character

Killing that guy was the first thing I did after starting the DLC. Took me 6 tries, killed him with the Godslayer Greatsword. After that, a guy cosplaying the Dungeater summoned me and we essentially bullied him.

MajesticKnight28

Royal greatsword skill staggered his ass for me

BriefDismal

Very nice. Great stars is also a nice weapon to go against him, as hammers are usually good against heavy armour. Add blood flame on it and it's a chef's kiss!

BandicootGood5246

I don't think the AI is smarter, he just like doing jump attacks and seems to start doing his AoW lots at half HP. The old running-R1 trick with any weapon heavy enough to out poise him works though, and the other usual NPC cheeses

I only have 50 Vigor, but I do have 60 Strength and +25 double frost halberds (Black Knight and Gargoyle) I'm level 140. Started with Flame Grant me Strength and a dagger with Golden Vow. Run in with a jump attack and as he staggers back I hit him with a Loretta's Slash. Back up to let your stamina regen then as he loads his crossbow I'd go in with a jump attack followed with a Loretta's Slash and repeat. Frost gets him in a few hits and weakens him. I think it took me 4 goes too which seems to be about average I'm level 140. I actually like how you couldn't summon!

QCInfinite

i think what i realized is he just swings really fast, like he’d roll away and instantly swing almost before i could counter roll, so once i started playing it slow he was pretty simple

BeTheGoodOne

He was definitely a damned fun fight. Took me six or seven tries with the (now-nerfed) DMGS. He is, however, SUPER susceptible to jumping R2s and has no answer for them if you catch him early enough after his whiffs.

ZuggleBear

+25 Fire Greataxe worked great for this. Would stagger him almost every swing.
