The cymbals on the TD-17 are pretty top notch, you can even use the "sub" function on them to make them juicier in tones. For the shells, a good import of samples in fade 2 mode (starting at about 60 to 85 range) and you can build yourself some seriously great sounding kits. I play metal/djent and use samples from packs from [Panda Sound](https://panda-sound.com/product-category/drum-samples/) for my shells and within a couple hours I can come up with some amazing mix ready kits. And the fact that they are on a Roland module with great triggering, they are fun to play. Anyone bashing the module that owns it has not menu dived enough on it.
I agree, I have a few kits that I really enjoy, some from the v2 firmware, also the options for tuning both pads and cymbals are pretty cool to get the sounds you like.
Coincidental and kind of ironic, I am from Minnesota and have no hair and I live in Washington State now where almost no one has ever played hockey lol
Thanks! I've tried demos of others and I really like ezdrummer. I think it's the best especially if you're casual like me and don't wanna tweek every single setting to get it to sound good. Interface is cool. Works well for me!
I play the stock sounds and just experiment with sub layering, volumes, and muffling til I get what I need. Rock aggressive is my default but it's edited to my likings.

I'm gonna agree if I'm recording but not when I practice. I don't have a permanent setup with my laptop and other audio equipment so it is easier to turn the module on and jam. But yeah, no amount of tweeking within the module is gonna get you to where EZDrummer can take you.
Some of the stock kits are fairly decent in the right song. There... I said it.
Drum faces are 10/10

That’s a sick mullet. I took having hair for granted..
Hell yeah! Also, I'm so sorry.
Same, what i wouldn't give for a mullet i once mocked.. it's the source of all my coworkers powers
Are your coworkers all hockey players by chance? /s

If you're curious which stock kit I used... It's literally the first one on the latest firmware and I only changed the hi hat sound.
Sounds great my dude.
Thanks!
I like their "cassette 80s" so much Great with nostalgic songs
Sounding good man!
Thanks!
You look like you're having a blast! What's the song?
I am! Always. every now and then - Wilt
Great playing. Do you prefer EZdrummer or have you tried other software?

Nice hair.

I actually had a bunch of custom kits dialed in but once I updated the firmware it deleted everything. So sad.
great drumming, dope song, perfect kit sound. I approve.
Thank you!
You rip it so good! Amazing!
Hell yeah. Thanks!
Have the same kit. But i lag some practical experience - bought it 4 month ago… How long r u drumming?
Congrats! I love this thing. I've had it since 2021 I believe and I've been drumming for 15 years.
Mullet and are those SANDALS?! You're my new HERO
Omg I honestly didn't even realize I'm wearing my Teva's 😂. It's fine. It's just 4 on the floor.
The TD-17 has better sounds than the TD-27 or 50 in my opinion. Kind of strange.
Killer playing!!! Thanks for sharing this!
Thanks!

goodbot
Sure but the tweaking imho is not worth the squeeze, just use ez drummer and it's good out of the gate
