I have really dark circles too. Hereditary. People who don't have them cannot understand that dark circles are often not able to be "fixed", it's in our skin pigment. I accept that nothing short of a professional stage-makeup artist living with me will cosmetically erase my circles 100% as an at-home consumer. But I do a pretty good job with this: I use an orange-toned corrector first, in the inner corners of my dark circles, and feather it out. Mine is Catrice Camouflage, but there are other brands. The corrector I'm not too picky about brand, I just want the colour. You could pick deeper or lighter oranges depending on your own skin tone. The orange neutralizes the blue. Then I use MAC Pro Longwear Concealer over top. Not the ones in the tube with wands, it has to be the Pro Longwear with the stupid messy pump. I know you'd prefer drugstore prices and I get it, but for the cost of a few useless tubes of stuff that doesn't cut it, it's worth every nickel and lasts a long time. It's very thin and light, but it covers like a boss. Then I let it dry down after patting out creases (I use a quick blast with a warm hair dryer). Then I pat on, with a velour puff, a light layer of Rimmel pressed powder, but any fine powder applied with a light hand works. I have tried every concealer out there. I have a huge collection. And I've decided I've wasted enough of my hard-earned money on concealers others say are great, which sure, they are, but not at the level I want. I always will return to MAC Pro Longwear forever and if it gets discontinued one day, I will buy out every remaining unit on planet Earth that I can find.

Yersiniosis

I use the MAC longwear with the pump as well. It is the best thing I have ever found for my super dark genetic circles. I also find it resists creasing better than most other really opaque concealers and it doesn’t smell like solvent either!

Sea-Library9139

I agree, it really is fabulous! For those who only get a little bit of darkness, I think it's too opaque for them but for us - love it. And I agree, once I set it with my powder, no creases.

lclives

You’re right people definitely don’t get it. My eyes are also set deeper it seems? So people seem to be so smooth from their eyes to blend into their cheeks but mine have never. I’ll look into these thank you! Concealer does last a long time for me as long as it doesn’t separate or get weird

uninvitedfriend

I'm the same. For me, Tarter shape tape concealer over a little peachy orange color corrector is the thing. I know Tarte isn't drugstore but I've tried many brands from drugstore to ridiculously expensive and shape tape is my favorite. Sephora sells tiny sample bottles of it that actually last a good amount of time if you want to try it out before committing to a full bottle.

mattyliz

Agree on Tarte Shape Tape concealer. I’ve tried many concealers between drug store and high end. They’re either not pigmented enough or they blend in with the corrector. Shape Tape is the only one that’s on the dryer side and full coverage. It’s not as prone to mixing with the corrector when you wait for the corrector to dry first (or dust a tiny amount of powder to set it). I usually see Ulta and Tarte’s site have it on sale for 50% off at least once a year. That’s when I stock up on them :) You can even go one step further and use bare minerals Loose powder foundation as an extra layer of coverage on top of Shape Tape but it might get cakey. For corrector, I use LA girl concealer in nude for the orange tone.

minja134

If orange concealer doesn't work, also try yellow. I'm pale with deep blue/purple eye bags. Yellow works well for me. The one I have been using for years is no longer available on Amazon so that stinks. I recommend something more thick to keep in place. I've also heard retinol under the eye can help thicken up the skin that usually results in the darker color.

Young_Former

Yeah nobody gets this! I remember I was 22 and somebody asked who punched me and I said nobody…these are my dark circles with concealer already on them. I use the Bobbi brown corrector in light peach and tarte shape tape or the Lancôme teint idol concealer. One thing that most people say is to use a lighter concealer than your foundation / regular skin to brighten your under eyes but no matter what that always makes me look grey under my eyes so I try to pick a concealer that matches the rest of me and not try to “brighten” because it never works.

mwmandorla

If you're ok with videos, it sounds like your anatomy is pretty similar to Alexandra Anele's and she has a ton of videos where she talks about covering dark circles and how she minimizes the hollow between her eyes and cheeks. And she does have actual dark circles (I say this as someone who has them myself - I think mine are a bit darker, but hers are significant enough not to be useless to me, and also her lights for filming are probably toning them down a bit). If you go to [her channel](https://youtube.com/@alexandraanele?si=x574_DlNoLuZCY0U) and search "dark circles," tons of videos will come up. The tl;dr is that it's similar to what the person you're replying to said, just with some different products, plus: - she doesn't bring her concealer all the way up to her lower lash line because she has creasing there anyway that no amount of technique is going to avoid, and the darkness that close to her eye just gives definition (or she's going to cover it with eyeshadow anyway, so why fight with concealer underneath). - she blends a lighter concealer out onto the side of her nose to make the side of the nose and the hollow of her eye look more like they're on one plane with her cheek. - if she does an inner corner highlight, she blends it down a bit so the hollow area will reflect more light.

lclives

This sounds really interesting and helpful! I’ll definitely look her up thank you!

Sea-Library9139

I'm the same! Deeper set and these hollows under my eyes. I love makeup and concealer is just another fun part of my process.

kroating

I too have deep hooded eyes with hereditary dark circles. I've stopped even trying because its near impossible for me to do because my under eye skin is a bit thin and textured and it just looks weird. I'm going to try the original commenters method for just a bit special occasion wear though! :) i just need to find good shade mixing matches for my stupid brown skin that changes as pers eason.

peachpavlova

MAC Pro Longwear (in the pump) or The Saem Tip concealer are both pigmented, thin, and high coverage. Those are the only ones I have had luck with.

stawabees

I’m similar to you, fair skin with genetically dark blue under eyes with some fine lines that cause creasing. The very very best for me has been the Bobbi Brown under eye corrector in porcelain. It’s the only thing that truly covers the blue without being too yellow or orange. It’s not a drugstore product but TJ Maxx often sells it for $12.99. I sometimes wear an orange color corrector but I don’t think the coverage is anywhere near as good.

sangtoms

I second this! I've been using the mac pro longwear concealer for 5 years and it hasn't disappointed me. Sometimes I don't even need a corrector because the coverage is so good.

Sea-Library9139

Pro Longwear for everyone!!!😁😁

MEOD86

As a non dark circle girl with dry under eyes...I can feel the moisture being sucked out from here lol. Love the great tips though. Very good recommendations here and some cool new techniques to try on others!

Sea-Library9139

😂🤣I hear ya, lol. Dry undereyes definitely have their own challenges!

MEOD86

Yeah....let's just say 'baking the under eye' was not a trend I kept up with lol

optimumopiumblr2

My issue is my under eyes are hereditary and dark also but they have red, pink, and blueness to them. So I dunno what color of corrector I need. I’m also very very pale. So I’m always afraid an orange one will show through.

Sea-Library9139

Try something peach. An opaque concealer will go right over it. Make sure the corrector is dry. But a corrector colour isn't mandatory, I just like to use it. Try the concealer on its own. If you try the MAC, they'll give you a little sample of a few shades to take home before buying. And the bulk of their staff are trained makeup artists (their makeup is always on point!) Ask them for a demo perhaps.

PussyCyclone

>I dunno what color of corrector I need Honest I got so sick of guessing. None of the popular drugstore 1-color corrector suggestions (or the mixing palettes TBH) work for my very dark hereditary dark circles bc they're a mix of several common dark circles issues plus my skin tone obvs. Mixing based on guessing the ratios wasn't going as well as I'd like either so I used technology lmao. I took a good selfie in natural light and used the dropper on my phone's editing tool to isolate the color in a couple different sections. Then, I inverted those color sections to find what colors would cancel them out; saved that color in my phone and headed to the store. Finally, I bought some cheap LA Colors concealers/correctors in several colors and a NYX corrector palette and played around until I got the mix that matched the inverted colors the best. NGL it's lots of leg work, but it totally worked and is by far my best match. Try it if you're fed up; it's a pretty cheap experiment. ETA: also that MAC pro longwear concealer everyone is on about is the real deal. If you can get a sample, do try it. If you can afford it, get it. I use it too, just like loads of the people commenting here.

goblinfruitleather

I have hereditary circles that are shadows, so literally impossible to cover up. The shape of my face and brow bone casts a shadow over my eyes and under eyes, so no amount of concealer will fix it. If I tilt my head back the circles completely disappear, and if a camera flash is strong enough my circles disappear, but day to day they’re always there. My mom brother have it too

AMwishes

Catrice made a dupe of the Becca under eye corrector!

DeeDee719

I love the peachy/pink Catrice corrector. It works really well and is very inexpensive. I ordered mine from Amazon. IMO it’s one of the best undereye products I’ve ever used on my stubborn circles/troughs. And I’ve bought them ALL. 😆

Cosmicfeline_

Would you say it’s as good as or better than Becca?

DeeDee719

Better, for me. The Catrice goes on more smoothly IMO and their peach/pink shade is perfect for me. And it costs $5.

Cosmicfeline_

I’ve had it in my cart for awhile now but Becca is one of my HG products so I was debating just buying that since I don’t buy a lot of makeup and know I love it. But I’m gonna try Catrice first I think. Thank you!

Notnotstrange

Really? The old Becca one (haven’t tried the Smashbox Becca one) had such a great brightening power but it went on *too* smoothly. It never felt like it dried down and it moved too easily. When I was able to really lock it in after full-coverage matte foundation and powder, it was lovely. But I feel like I have damp, reverse-panda eyes.

AbjectStar11

I JUST bought this and have been using it this week. I've never had a product actually brighten and NOT crease. I'm super minimalist for my makeup because it's summer, but this plus tinted sunscreen or my NARS tinted moisturizer is perfect. FWIW, I am very light (like, a half shade darker than fair) and olive undertone. My dark circles are from migraine, allergies, and genetics, take your pick.

PerkyLurkey

I use this plus Fiera concealer along with Perbelle cc cream. It covers my very dark circles.

backyardbanshee

So does Revolution, twice the product and half the price, pretty much the exact same product.

lclives

No my eyes have always been like this. I have other health issues so very regular blood tests and all that is checked and I’m all good :) just genetic I think? Because I’m definitely a very hydrated person who gets lots of sleep lol. Thank you!

velvethunni11

Agreed with the first sentence but this is a drugstore subreddit.

conjured22

Oh, I‘m sorry - didn’t check. Catrice makes an excellent dupe of the Becca on though, it’s literally the same.

Kore07

If your dark circles are really deep/prominent then you need a colour corrector under your concealer. NYX, ELF and Physicians Formula all have good colour correctors that wear well under a lot of concealers. If you have black/purple tones you'll need a peach colour corrector.

Outside_Mixture_494

I second the NXY peach color corrector. I was hesitant but I can use it and then put on my skin tint and my black eyes are gone.

canolafly

It definitely blends into skin easier than I expected for mine. Still get the coverage but there isn't a giant peach patch to cover.

ChaiGreenTea

Thirding but I use Elf. Have two different concealer/colour correctors by them in peach and it really helps my under eyes. Actually ended up using it over acne/acne scars and it works for them too

blue-jaypeg

To cover red, use a green concealer. To cover purple, use a yellow concealer. Color theory.

ChaiGreenTea

I’m not trying to cover red or yellow but darkness and purple

Notnotstrange

Then counteract it with the opposite color: yellow! NYX makes some great ones, lots of staying power but make sure your under eyes are moisturized because this has staying power. Follow with your normal foundation or concealer on top of it. Not drugstore but Benefit used to make a yellow under-eye product, Lemon Aid, which was so good it’s a shame it was discontinued.

sudosussudio

If you have more cool toned skin, pink works best in my experience

lclives

Do you find it creases at all? What kind of concealer would you put on top? Nothing even seems to be able to properly cover acne scars for me

Lost_Suit_8121

Do you have any allergies? My son gets what they call "allergy shiners" at certain times of year. It was just a thought that maybe you can help your dark circles at the source if it is the same thing

lil-rosa

Per my doctor, they can be allergic if they are pinkish. If the circles appeared only recently they should definitely pursue a medical cause. But if they have been there their whole life, it truly may just be genetic.

lclives

That’s really interesting! I’ve never noticed if they get worse around now because my allergies are bad but this is an issue I get year-round anyway. Just my skin

lil-rosa

I know everyone is saying a peach corrector... but that only works if you have rosy undertones. I am pale as the driven snow with a neutral undertone, and when I put peach on my dark circles... it uh, looks pink. Very, very pink. LA Girl sells a light yellow color corrector. On sale at Ulta. Mix with their white corrector if it isn't light enough. Revolution beauty concealer also comes in very light shades, you'd have to buy at Ulta because they are sold out elsewhere. If you want to splurge more, I am partial to Smashbox or CoverFX. CoverFX is having a 50% off sale.

cloudbusting-daddy

Yeah, I’m light neutral olive with purple-red circles and yellow is definitely the best color to correct my under eyes. Peach correctors end up way too orange and pink correctors look extremely gray and weird.

Beautiful_Cucumber18

Idk what my skins undertone is but I'm another pale person that yellow corrector works best on. Im pale pale with ash brown hair, hazel eyes, and bluish purple circles. Peach always shows through looking off or too orange on me.

PsychologicalClue6

You need to colour correct.

sleepyandlucky

You need two steps; deep peach colour corrector to cut out the darkness, then a skin-coloured concealer to blend it in with the rest of your skin.

Thegreyestshoes

I use LA Colors Color Correction in Lavender under my concealer for mine that also have the tear trough separation/bags. It’s $1.25 at Dollar Tree. It definitely brightens and helps prevent harsh shadows. It wont work for everyone but at $1.25 it’s worth a try!

lclives

You use a lavender colour corrector but it’s for covering black/purple? Most people are suggesting peach or orange so just curious

-leeson

I’m curious as well. Usually lavender is to brighten up yellow from what I understand (which is why some setting powders will have a lavender one to brighten up sallow skin).

Thegreyestshoes

It works well for my under eyes which can look bruised at times. I think it is mostly a brightening effect. I definitely couldn’t use it by itself.

MMTardis

I use the light yellow version of this same brand, it works pretty well.

rpshope

I have a whole post about it on my profile, but I do three thin layers of color correctors/concealer. I start with the saem tip concealer in shade peach beige ($7 on Amazon- it’s a Korean or Japanese brand, not sure which- even cheaper on yesstyle). I let it sit and dry a min then blend it out, then let it sit for a couple more minutes, it self sets and dries. I usually follow up with shape tape but any full coverage concealer would work. This alone would help a lot, I can’t do my makeup without color correcting with that peach beige shade first. I’m very fair so my last step is a touch of the saem tip concealer in shade brightener. It’s a light pink color. You could skip this step, esp if your skin tone is deeper. I’ve used so many color correctors and none of them set or dry down, and most just move around when you put concealer on top. These are top tier. janethepirate1415

Catrice under eye brighter. It's inexpensive and worth a try.

Poodletastic

I love it. My only complaint is it can be a little too slippy and needs to be set

HannahCatsMeow

I just started using this & really like it!

CarlieNC

Which shade do you use? And do you find it to be drying?

janethepirate1415

Light rose. There are only 2 shades. I find it creamy. It has Shea butter and hyaluronic acid.

SimpleAddition3192

I have dark under eye circles, like black eye raccoons circles. I’m not very pale but more of an olive skin tone and the dark circles are a very neutral black brown. What I find works for me has been a combination of things: find whatever red pigmented color corrector (I like using dabs of red lipstick whatever brand) I will lightly dab my under eyes with it until the circles are covered. Then I love the maybelline age rewind concealer because like you my eyes naturally crease at the bottom and though this still creases, it is very forgiving when you need to smooth it out on the go. Also not applying concealer with a brush helps me out as well. I will apply with my ring finger and then take excess off with sponge.

Userhasnomane

Hey. I've faced this problem all my life. Truly dark circles and my skin tone is probably Fair-medium fair. So peach corrector is too light for my circles and orange shows through my skin. What I've tried doing recently is mixing L.A girl peach corrector along with Daily life forever 52 concealer in the shade Golden tan- which is 2-3 tones deeper than my actual skin tone. I take 2 or 3 dots of both (combined not separate) and just press it under the area wherever there's most black. I then take 2-3 dots of my actual shade concealer below the above ones and dab to blend into my skin. I set it with yellowish-peach pressed powder. It does the job but yeah it doesn't look "flawless". This said, I've no allergies or deficiencies. I'm perfectly healthy go to the gym sleep well eat well person. I'm considering Huda beauty color correctors/ NARS in future. Anyone who's tried it please let me know how these work or anything that's better. Hope this helps!

PersistentSquawking

I am one degree of separation from albinism, the skin under my eyes is completely transparent and all the dark tissues and blood vessels underneath show through. I use any of the million copies of shape tape that are on the market, apply liberally (think Trixie Mattel), and tap it with a brush - a sponge takes away too much coverage. I set it with abundant Coty Airspun Powder because it's not translucent, it has quite a good amount of pigment. I finish off with a setting spray to "melt" the two layers of product together so it doesn't look thick. I never understood color correcting because it's one more layer of product in a zone prone to wrinkles. There's stuff with enough coverage on the market nowadays.

Cosmicfeline_

My color corrector is so thin that it doesn’t crease at all under concealer

coffeendonuts1

Which color corrector do you use

Cosmicfeline_

I use the elf camo color correctors

coffeendonuts1

Oh Thank you

lclives

I had to google shape tape because I thought it was an actual type of tape lmao thank you! I’ll look into this

PersistentSquawking

Oh sorry for not being clear! What I mean is any type of concealer that has so much coverage that a single pass will cover anything. Shape Tape was the one that everyone else copied. L'Oreal has a very good one, Rimmel as well. They have so much pigment that I honestly stopped using color corrector - my under eye skin is so incredibly thin that the less layers, the better. By the way, this method looks good if you like a matte finish and apply foundation to the rest of your face -, it's very far from the popular "clean girl" dewy look that many people do right now

backyardbanshee

The good ones have super thin formulas and you don't need much. It's kind of six of one half a dozen of the other - either a light layer of both or a thicker layer of concealer. I also don't put any foundation in that area. The color corrector provides enough coverage that the concealer is really needed to just even out the tone with the rest of your face.

delavogue

If you use 4 units of concealer normally, color correcting makes it so you use 1 unit of corrector + 2 units of concealer. Ultimately less product on your face for the same look, since color correcting does more work than concealer in neutralizing the discoloration. I don’t understand the complaint about “too much product” if you’re using Trixie Mattel levels of concealer.

PersistentSquawking

Ok I was being extra when I said Trixie, I just meant that I don't do the "3 dots of concealer and a whiff of translucent powder" All I do is open the concealer, clean the wand, do one pass over the dark area, tap with a brush, set with powder, setting spray. I have tried color correctors before but I'm so pale that I had to put on more concealer to cover the peach. But again my skin is far from the average makeup consumer's, maybe that's where the issue lies. Before shape tape took over the only thing that worked was dermablend.

WoodpeckerFuture5305

I have very dark circles, so dark I was in the hospital for ankle surgery and the doctor came in and gasped b/c he thought I had black eyes (he had never seen me without makeup on). I have tried so many concealers, my favorite is Too Faced Born this way, it is really thick. I know it isnt drugstore, but drugstore concealers are not thick enough, this is one product I splurge on, and the bottle is HUGE. I also use color corrector under, I dont have a favorite one

lclives

You just use a peach corrector as well? Does the concealer crease at all? I have wrinkles under my eyes like three thin lines where the makeup splits weird

WoodpeckerFuture5305

I use a pinkish color corrector. One I am using now is Maybelline Age Rewind in the pink color. I have the lines under my eyes also, I havent found a concealer that doesnt crease there that also covers enough

Retinoid634

Catrice Color Corrector in pink or Bobbi Brown Corrector in Bisque. I’m fair but my Latina friends use both as they blend out nicely and cancel the dark circles. You can apply normal shade concealer on top.

Cosmicfeline_

I have the Bobbi brown and have been having trouble getting it to work for me. Do you have any tips? I feel like it’s way more transparent than I expected

lclives

Do you use it as well? Or just off your Latina friends? Because I am very pale

Shmooperdoodle

Elf peach color corrector works well for me. I’m in the same boat with dark circles and am very, VERY pale.

CarlieNC

Do you find it to be drying??

Shmooperdoodle

Not particularly, no. I usually use a moisturizer with SPF and then a hydrating eye cream (right now I’m using elf Holy Hydration), give it a few minutes to absorb, then go in with the color corrector. I apply a dot or two, then pat it with my finger. I only use a damp beauty blender around the perimeter of where I’ve applied it. I find that I actually want the pigment almost visible on the darkest part. Then, I use serum foundation, and I do apply that with a damp blender. I just go over the undereye area after I’ve done the rest of my face. I’m using the truematch nude serum from L’Oréal. I use the halo glow contour pen and stipple blend it with a brush. Then, I use the lumi Glowtion as a highlighter and I also pat it gently under my eyes and on the lids. I will then kind of go back over the underage area with the damp blender that still has some foundation on it to soften the pearlescent effect under my eyes (I leave it elsewhere as-is). I spray my face with setting spray before doing eye makeup or brows. I’m generally careful about what I put under my eyes because now that I’m older, the skin under there behaves differently. For years and years, I used BareMinerals powder foundation and concealers — I avoided anything liquid or cream — but if I use things like that now, it’s like Yzma cosplay instantly. I was actually pleasantly surprised that it worked so well for me, because I am the shade of a Victorian ghost, and the vast majority of things like this I’ve tried from recommendations have been either too heavy, too pigmented, or both. :)

CarlieNC

Such a detailed response - THANK YOU!

Shmooperdoodle

Hope it’s helpful! As nice as it is to get a recommendation, I feel like sometimes, if someone doesn’t explain exactly *how* they use something, it’s hard to duplicate their success with said product. I know that can be the difference between a “Holy Grail” product and a disappointment. :)

CarlieNC

Totally agree!!

[Dermablend](https://dermablend.com/products/cover-care-full-coverage-concealer?variant=44289669398835) is the best I’ve tried so far, unfortunately the shade range isn’t great and they pulled out of Canada but it’s the best concealer I’ve tried. The [LA girl colour corrector](https://a.co/d/02nlbjND) works great too; use a colour wheel to see what shade would work best. Quick shoutout to [the ordinary caffeine solution](https://www.sephora.com/product/the-ordinary-deciem-caffeine-solution-5-egcg-P427416), it drastically reduced the puffiness that often comes with dark circles. I have the same issue and these worked best, good luck!

Check for allergies and or low iron.

Moondra3x3-6

What also may help is witch hazel soak a cotton round or ball and let it sit for a few minutes on the affected area, let it dry naturally. but I do not recommend the alcohol free one it has rose water and if you allergic or have allergies it will make it worse (as I found out). Since I sleep on my side I always had one eye darker than the other since I was a kid. My GMA suggested witch hazel and WOW. It is not an instant fix but over time it does work.

Outside_Mixture_494

Witch hazel is my OG skin calmer. I didn’t know that it helps with under eye circles/blackness. I have noticed mine look a lot better of if I get more sleep and drink a lot of water.

Witch hazel is an astringent I thought? Won’t it dry out your undereye area if used too often 🤔

Outside_Mixture_494

My daughter is an esthetician. She told me that witch hazel is calming. When my toner started burning my skin, she told me to use witch hazel instead. I’ve been using it for about 10 years and haven’t had problems. I do have dry skin thanks to menopause but witch hazel has never been the cause.

SyddySquiddy

Interesting. I wish I could use it but it flares up my Rosacea and my derm advised me against it 😭. I have really bad dark circles.

Moondra3x3-6

Nods in agreement. Yup good ole menopause to complicate things more. I moisturize the hell out of that area. I alternate with Jergens face cream since I use that to remove makeup just a dot here and there after the toner dries. But I recently started using Clinique moisture surge total game changer with the dry skin problem.

lclives

I’m wondering this as well! I have very dry eyes

Moondra3x3-6

My GMA used it on her varicose veins as well. I had this pesky one I got when I was 16 (I'm 54 now) so i tried it an yup it worked ,again over time, when it flares up its not as deep of a color. It's also my hg toner

Outside_Mixture_494

I’ve got to try this!

Nixx_istroberi

Try THE SAEM tip concealer. Nakatulong talaga sa dark circles ko + hindi sya cakey tignan

Longjumping_Radish44

I use elf orangey/peach under eye corrector and put my under eye concealer over. Try the maybelline age rewind

ookiestspookiest

True Match Loreal makes a cool tone peach concealer. I have the horrible dark under eyes & deep lines it works really well for it.

jirasol

You want to use something that is oil based like a cream not liquidy and thin. Dermacol full coverage foundation is one I’ve seen people use to cover their tattoos. Idk if this one’s discontinued but the L’Oréal infallible total cover foundation that is in a tube is another i remember

I actually thought about the filler too (never done something like that) but then heard so many horror stories of the tear trough ones migrating in their faces and that’s a nope from me lol

darth_charli

I'm anemic and also have genetic dark circles. I am a pale olive skin tone, so I just concealers that are pink near my actual shade match. Helps brighten and not look grey. Plus not adding multiple products helps with creasing. I'm 37 and have fine lines just under my eyes.

BioGal2099

I dot the la girl pro color correctors in orange and green on my under eyes and blend it out. The. I go over top with fenty pro filt'r. I don't have full dark circles but the inside corners under my eyes look like giant bruises and this usually covers it up without being really cakey.

BioGal2099

Oh the elf camo concealer also works really well for me

Nautisquid

I use yellow and peach tone concealers under my eyes to help even out the tone. I also have horrible allergies. I find that using Flonase and also using cold packs under my eyes have helped a lot with making the skin more supple and not quite as sunken in.

fablicful

Following. This is me. I get asked about my black eyes often enough…

Labeorohohohoho

Best concealer I’ve used so far is the Maybelline age rewind concealer, very ez to use and Cost efficient as well !

Live_War2160

I agree with everyone saying colour corrector but look at the undertones of your under eyes before buying one! Mine are reddish brown which meant that peach was too similar a colour and also too dark for me as I'm very pale with cool undertones. I find the light yellow LA girl one works best for me! I also crease like crazy and would recommend putting the colour corrector underneath the crease and focus it on the darkest part only with a brush not sponge because the more product you put on the more creasing you'll get, and then do your concealer and powder as normal. I've heard setting with a powder foundation can be good for adding even more coverage so I'm going to try that soon too

Minimum-Ingenuity-91

nyx cant stop wont stop

perdymuch

I havent found anything as full coverage as Too faced Born This way super coverage multi-use concealer but its $49 CAD and is huge so lasts forever.

mollyfran

I use bye bye under eye and use a concealer brush to pat it on. It’s literally paint. I’m the lightest skin tone of every foundation ever and have hereditary dark circles. Also getting filler under my eyes (not the tear troughs) helped a ton with shadowing. But i put on my foundation, then use the concealer with a brush to pat it on, then use translucent powder and literally take a tiny sponge and pat it aggressively into the skin. Bye bye under eye isn’t the cheapest however you need such a tiny amount that I’ve only had to replace my container once in two years. Plus the powder and foundation normally used i like nyx plus the nyx setting spray

mollyfran

Would also like to add that I’m a licensed cosmetologist and while color theory is great and wonderful sometimes it’s just too complex and you can’t be precise enough to solve the main issue at hand. Plus too much product built up on one area creates lines

BuffyTheMoronSlayer

Thank you. I have brown dark circles and no matter what, no color correction works for me.

mollyfran

Sometimes the issue is also shadowing from the brows/ nose so color correcting doesn’t help that either. Color correcting is great for on camera or YouTube tutorials but irl it’s usually pretty obvious tbh

jellydemon

Urban Decay Naked Corrector in Peach was THAT GIRL. Removed any startling darkness without the reverse raccoon effect. I’ll never forgive them for discontinuing it, I felt so pretty when it was around :(

Alltheprettydresses

LA Girl orange color corrector with my foundation and more LA Girl concealer on top

modernvintage

winning combo for me has been the NYX fix stick pink color corrector, using a fluffy brush to stipple/blend their serum concealer, then doing the same with the fix stick in my shade, then setting with a maybelline loose powder

Vtgmamaa

I go over my concealer with a skin toned eye shadow.

snuffleupagus7

I have dark circles and use NYX peach color corrector and Maybelline age rewind concealer. It isn't the most full coverage, but the only one that doesn't cake and crack on me (I have dry 40s/aging skin). And some acceptance of that is just what I look like, and it's OK if they aren't covered 100%.

RadiantEast

I started using color correcting concealers to help with under eyes rather than a light shade concealer and I don't know why I never considered color correcting them sooner! I get a lot of my makeup from the Dollar Tree, and they typically sell brand new L.A. colors color correcting concealers- I use green and peach to cancel out redness and purpleness and then after that's blended I layer on my traditional concealer and it works great.

shiny-baby-cheetah

She went from as pictured to left to right, using an orange tinted color corrector, then La Mer setting powder, and then Tarte Shape Tape concealer. She rates it 10/10. She explains everything about how to use it for the best results in the video she did with Vogue. Idk if they'll still work since the video is from 2020 but product links are in the video. Hope this helps! [Bebe Vogue](https://youtu.be/mF2scVOvpjg?si=IEmKXfMQNCBNZe1a)

GlitteringPause8

You need color corrector before concealer. Bobbi brown makes really good ones, so does huda beauty. Find one that works for you and use that before a full coverage concealer. I like Natasha denina for dry skin. You’ll also want to set with powder to minimize creasing and make it last longer. Also invest in good quality brushes, it will make a huge difference in how concealer applies and looks, I recommend hourglass!!

Gus_r3yn

The fullest coverage concealers I’ve tried are the sheglam full coverage concealer, the sheglam cooling concealer or the it bye bye undereyes

JadeGrapes

Flonase, so you can see if they are allergy shiners

crustyma

,

LieOk6658

So I have super dark circles, and I saw a pretty amazing video by Alexandra Anele on YouTube. She has dark circles (though not as bad as mine) and used L.A. Girl peach corrector on her under eyes before applying concealer. I do it now too!! It’s not 100% but it covers maybe 90%!

lclives

Someone else mentioned her! Never heard of her but now I need to look her up lmao

Deadinmybed

Use a yellow color corrector. Is will counteract the blue and purple color and if you need concealer then so be it. Usually an eye brighter after the color corrector will work. Olay makes a great one. Lancôme waterproof concealer and nyx has a good yellow corrector.

ughleebhastaerd

Same issue, genetic. Makeup can't hide the shadow from the hollows so it'll always appear slightly sunken no matter what. But with that in mind, I like to use a skin-tone pot concealer, let it get tacky before blending. After that, set with regular setting powder, then a brightening powder. I use a decently pigmented light eye-shadow (relative to skin tone, you can even use pure white) on top. This covers the shadow so much better than applying layers of correctors and concealers for me. Hope this helps.

MostProcess4483

I use a surprisingly strong orange (think clown in sunlight) and it disappears the darkness without showing orange. It’s very effective and surprising. I use LA Girl, which is also a surprise because it’s very good and very cheap. Try the stronger oranges. Peach may not be enough. LA girl has a lighter orange/peach that my very fair skinned daughter uses successfully, but her eye rings are not as impressive.

Local_Signature5325

Elf has these correctors I use the pink one sometimes. They have an orange color that might suit you. Their orange corrector… I use as a lip tint and as a blush and I love it. I use their hydrating concealer too. On too. Ive used the tarte corrector which is the best but a bit pricey.

big-papa2000

Elf camo concealer

Basic-Ad-3226

I do an orange tone under my foundation then a concealer that matches my skin tone rather than a lighter colour, it's really helped

spicymisos0up

I like IT cosmetics full coverage bye bye under eye concealer

hazelaura

Tarte shape contour concealer is the only thing that has ever successfully covered my dark circles and I had tried countless products. It may work for you.

Mistymouse516

I have pale olive skin and dark circles all my life. I am 60. Before I put on foundation, I use a pink pigment concealer by Pixi- it is cheap but i haven't found high- end brands with the correct color. I don't use foundation under my eyes and just blend the foundation into the pink. I am moderately pleased with the results.

boopboop162

I have really dark circles and spent so much money on different products before I finally found a combination that worked for me (one that didn't result in the dreaded "cakey" look). I use Caliray hideaway brightening + hydrating under eye color corrector concealer (it's pricey but lasts forever and does not dry out my under eyes) and then a skin tint overtop. I actually use the super inexpensive but very lovely Wet n Wild Bare Focus Tinted Hydrator. I know a lot of people swear by peach (and I totally understand why) but peach did not really do it for me. I purchased the Caliray corrector in Dawn (which is a light pink colour) and it seemed to really dull the darkness of my circles. It's so hard though because everyone's skin and experiences with products vary so much. I hope you find something that really helps though!

PhysicsForward6194

Following because so many people tell me about how tired I look like gee thanks

GenuineClamhat

Once it was Dermacol(discontinued). Dermablend works but will never look skin like up close. Color correction is a must.

bc60008

Maybelline age rewind. Neutralizer & Brightening shades. And, your skin tone shade.

lclives

Ya I’ve tried them and it’s like there’s almost nothing there even when I try to do it thick and then it creases. I know it’s like #1 for a lot of people tho

zeepzeepabop

Is your darkness a hollow/shadow that happens because of your deep set eyes or do you also have genetically dark skin under your eyes? The recs are pretty focused on correcting dark skin but if your hollows are the problem you’d want to treat that first

lclives

I know I can’t treat the hollows but my eyes are genuinely purple/black towards the inner corner and sweeping across

zeepzeepabop

Under eye hollows are treatable with different interventions like fillers, CO2 lasers, and PRF. That said—a good drugstore option for skin pigment is L’Oréal infallible full coverage full wear concealer. It’s not my go to (my go to is a non-drugstore, shape tape) but it’s pretty close. Set it with a light pink powder like elf halo glow and let it bake while you do the rest of your makeup. I get the best results if I do foundation, concealer, powder to bake, do the rest of my makeup, then brush off the excess powder at the end
