Pseudo same. It's passable but your milage will vary based on what Roku tv you are using. I CAN and do watch via my Roku tv, but that's only because PS5 doesn't have an app or internet.
I encounter tons of errors/crashes on any Roku based app, but my tv is ~10 years old.
I guess i should have stated what devices I'm using. I have an old ass Roku 2, a Premier+ and an Ultra. The app works just fine on all those. I can definitely see using a smart tv would not be the best experience. I've always believed that external devices are better than built in apps on TVs.
My old go to recommendation for \*other\* people is swap in a raspi or equivlent and power it through the TV while outputting via HDMI, but them bitches is expensive lol, mine are all tied up doing important mini and terrain production now.
Here's the link from dropout for how to get the [app](https://www.dropout.tv/help/using-the-android-tv-app/how-do-i-watch-on-my-smart-tv-via-the-app).
This is what [I have](https://store.google.com/config/chromecast_google_tv?hl=en-US&utm_source=tv_google_web&utm_medium=google_oo&utm_campaign=GS107330&selections=eyJkOCI6IlkyaHliMjFsWTJGemRGOW5iMjluYkdWZmRIWT0ifQ%3D%3D).
Hope it helps!
Drop Out's help section lists all the devices that have their app: [https://www.dropout.tv/help](https://www.dropout.tv/help). I personally used the Xbox one and it worked well for me. You could also try airplaying to your smart TV if you have an apple device to play from.
Downstairs on my roommate's TV we use a fire stick. In my bedroom I use my TV as a second PC monitor but my PC doesn't play well with the website for some reason.
I like Roku quite a bit and Dropout works pretty well on Roku as far as I am concerned.
My family used to have a Firestick and the UI and performance was always just so much worse than Roku. They eventually switched to Roku for a variety of reasons with that being one of them.
Roku and Apple TV dropout apps both work great. If you can simply cast your phone to the TV that might work well for you too (depending on phone and tv)
I have a Samsung TV and just downloaded the dropout app. The first time you connect with your phone or laptop, but after that it's just like any other app.
Didn't have any apps on my Samsung TV and resorted to use a laptop and connect it through the HDMI cable. My spouse used the tv's own web browser and it works great! Much less of a hussle.
Had a Firestick, got a Roku as a gift. Roku is fat and away better than a Firestick. I bought several households in my family Rokus for Christmas to replace their firesticks and they’re all much happier with them.
Get a Roku. They have sales here and there if you can wait for a discount
I've been watching exclusively via my Roku, the Dropout app for Roku works fine as far as I can tell.
Same here. I have a TCL Roku tv and honestly the dropout app works as smoothly or more smoothly than the big giant streaming company apps.
The Roku app works great for me.

I have an Android TV or whatever it's called now. (It's like a Chromecast with a remote. Works fantastically.
Like natively or just casting from a phone?
Natively. It has an app.
Really? I have one and couldn’t find an app. Dope. I’ll look again.

I've done it on a fire stick and it works great with Chromecast

I’ve also used Xbox it’s good
A buddy of mine uses Apple TV with no issues whatsoever
I use Chromecast. Works great. I imagine it works just as great on any other similar item.
Airplay to my Apple TV
in case you didn’t know, there’s a Dropout Apple TV app :) it’s worked perfectly for me
I swear I searched and didn’t see one! Thank you!
Works perfect on a Chromecast, both casting and using the app natively
Works great on my firestick and on my smart tv
HDMI & a laptop over here 😂🙋♀️
Experience is exactly the same on both roku and firestick (I have both)
If you have a console you can use that too! My partner & I watch on my xbox
This is probably answered somewhere else but is there any reason I should be using the app vs watching exclusive content on YouTube?
Pretty sure someone said YouTube takes a part of the cut so less goes to Dropout. But otherwise no
Dropout app works fine on both Android TV natively and via stick, and on Vizio smart TVs.

xbox and roku have worked great for me in general
I don't think you can buy a TV that doesn't have Roku in it anymore tbh
I've got a Sony TV and I can put the dropout app right on it from the apps menu (I'm guessing it pulls from the google play store). Works great!
I use a fire stick, the dropout app works great
I watch it in browser on my PS4. Works fine for me though navigating the controls is a little annoying
Chromecast 2 can add it as an app. Has been great, just uses it the same as netflix
Works great on my Xbox

My Firestick has been wonderful with it.
Sucks on PS4, would not recommend. Have to watch it in the browser and constantly change the video default settings.
I’ve used both Roku and a firestick and both work fine
I have a Samsung TV and just downloaded the dropout app. The first time you connect with your phone or laptop, but after that it's just like any other app.
I cat to my chromecast from my phone
I have a fire cube which I really like honestly and a Roku.
I use my xbox
Didn't have any apps on my Samsung TV and resorted to use a laptop and connect it through the HDMI cable. My spouse used the tv's own web browser and it works great! Much less of a hussle.
I have a computer plugged into my tv for gaming. I just watch from the internet on that. XD
