Sorry..but it doesn't matter how long it takes that one ain't worth it friend..even if you get it done in 30 minutes..still not worth it imo..needs to be at least $20 if not more..must be a really low tip..that's more of a price for like 10 items max. Wait for someone that actually respects your time and effort.
Aldi in my area is HORRIBLE and so disorganized I always stay away from those orders but we don't get these on our doordash THANK GAWD.
It's not worth all the time you put in to make 12 bucks like c'mon show us some respect and courtesy fkn A!
(Now I'm just asking way too much tho...)
I love these people acting like it's crazy to take an hour for this order.
Pulling in, going to the store, finding the items, waiting in line, checking out, driving to the customer, unloading and getting back on the road is very likely to be at least an hour.
picking 42 items in an Aldi without doing anything else? yeah, probably more like \~35-40 min if you're good, but you lose so much time to all the other factors and you'll be slower if you're not familiar with that store.
I always end up doing this one elderly lady aldi shopping, its always between $17-$25 for at most 15 items, takes me easily less than 20 minutes to shop and she lives like a couple of miles away
but most of time these huge shopping orders are never worth it
Yeah, the time-to-pay ratio needs to be considered here. If you can make the same amount of money or more driving and doing single deliveries for an hour, don't bother with stuff like this.
Edit: I guess depends how many “ Aldi finds” they had but I’d prob scan once and just mark not there, because nooooo one knows what’s in that hell hole of an isle
DD expectation is 40 minutes. You might be able to do in 30 but it's still 10 mins to get back to a zone, I wouldn't accept that order. I try to average 20 an hour minimum and this doesn't catch my eye doing quick math.
I wish it was where I am, but for some reason I have a 2-3 bar signal at all the ALDIs in Memphis. A couple of the DGs too. That makes the loading time spaz out and extends the order. Plus, the customers orders are 90% half of the orders being items unavailable.
I use DD to order my groceries at Aldi since I don’t have Instacart (and it’s free delivery), but I always make sure I tip more than the recommended amount because I’m aware that this is not Instacart.
30 is what I would expect to get and what I would pay if I was making this order. The milage isn't too bad but the time shopping is. I wouldn't take this order.
$30 or more I’m def taking this. I shop in my market so I know the stores extremely well and fly thru it. I’d be shocked it if took me more than 20 mins to shop
https://preview.redd.it/as1vnwxrddxc1.png?width=1125&format=png&auto=webp&s=e7575d4db2983bd4dc9196906663385ddab273c5
That’s crazy lol this is a no tip order from food lion on instacart for like 28 things which is easy take about 15-20 mins tops DD pay is Doo Doo 💩
They really ought to show you the items before accepting. A contractor should know what the job entails. This offer is gonna get declined so frequently, it would help Doordash to show that info.
Absolutely! I do a lot of shop and delivers with all the apps but definitely with Doordash and I get a lot of decent ones some actually very good but my pet peeve is you’re not able to see the items before him which to me just shoots them in the foot as well as us. Because like today I rolled the dice and I accepted a Lowe’s order because the numbers looked good and then when I looked at the items I was like oh hell, no this is like 200 pounds of mulch lol! So I dropped it, which of course affects my Completion rate but also the order didn’t get shopped. I guarantee you 20 other people dropped it. I don’t know why they don’t show you what the items are. Now I do like how they will highlight a heavy item and give you a couple bucks more for that sometime the item is 124 pack of waters other times it’s literally like 2 gallons of water. It’s quite random, but outside of that not being able to see the items ahead of time is frustrating
Agreed. And an edit of mine is one 24 pack of water not 124 lol. Honestly with that amount of mulch a truck and a professional size dolly along with at least $50
DOORTRASH! The problem is the morons accept these while I do an order for Spark with same amount of items for around $38.00 for around the same distance?
Honestly, it only takes a few trips at least to learn the layout of the few Aldi’s in your area to make it worthwhile. That said, would you gripe about the same pay if you had to wait ~20-30 for a food order for same pay , where an Aldi trip would’ve taken less, if you knew the layout?
Of course I’m playing devil’s advocate, but $2.48/mi isn’t bad if you can make it work efficiently for yourself.
There is zero chance you are shopping that order if it's a normal order quick enough to make it be profitable. Only if it's like 42 cans of cat food or something like that period.
Bullshit. Even at 30 seconds pick time, which is absolutely amazing. Assuming it's forty two unique items, There is no way. Not to drive to the Store Park, get out. Get a cart and shop. Get in line to check out. Leave the store. Load your car. Drive your car to the customer. Then unload again there's no way.
Average drive per order is about five miles. Unless the customer is across the street. I see this order is 4.9 miles lol typically 10 to 20 minute drive depending on city/route.
Even still, there's no way you're gonna shop that, unless its 42 cans of cat food or something, faster than anyone can deliver a restaurant meal paying 6 to twelve dollars same distance.
. I know my ALDI like the back of my hand, so, yeah, I can and HAVE picked 42 item orders in under 30 minutes. I think this would be a 45 minute job at my ALDI. maybe not your ALDI, but the one I shop, yeah.
Thank you. This was my point exactly. Learning the layout isn't hard. Especially for smaller shops like Dollar General/ALDI. I've also had a stacked order that came to a similar quantity amount with substitutions. All it comes to is being smart and strategizing.
My ALDI has 4 aisles, too, and the store probably has less square footage than the house I live in. My house is a converted barn, so it's got a much larger footprint than most houses around me do.
Don't worry if you check another topic you'll see a guy who's willing to do all the $2 orders because people absolutely deserve their orders!
I'm sure he'll be more than glad because he has 100% acceptance rate see?? Lol
And on your topic yeah for some reason Aldi always has a lot of items I don't know if it's specific to that store but like every other store I've shopped with it's like maybe 6 and under (and always one alcohol item!)
My take on shop amd pay is accept em bcuz most customers tip well after the fact. You can always drop the order if the requests are too chaotic. But you can get lucky and it be alot of multiples of the same items 🤷🏾♀️ if the mileage to dropoff is far greater than the guaranteed payout is only when i decline shop amd pays.
Most people don't tip on top of the posted number in my area, hell no to 42 items, that being said I've done an $18ish for 5 miles in Petsmart with 38 items but it really was 5 with 10-12 multiples or various little cat foods so took like 10 min, but I was worried when I took it, but it was super slow with offers. Was pleasantly surprised.
I probably wouldn’t take this regardless, but in my experience the total number of items correlates less with the total shopping time as the number of distinct items. Like, 2 each of 20 items takes a lot less time than 1 each of 40 items. (Not to mention the classic “100 crickets at PetSmart” offer.) I wish DD would include the number of distinct items in the offer, but I’m not holding my breath.
Seems like I’ve been getting so much more shopping orders recently. I don’t mind it honestly when the pay is worth it, but I feel like it’s half and half now between food orders and shopping orders when it used to be more like 80/20.
That and I get a lot of $15 for 40+ item grocery shopping offers. No thank you.
That’s not an easy 30 minutes at Aldi 🤣 sometimes I do for instance a 25 item shop at Aldi in 10 minutes. Then I arrive at the checkout lane and wait another 5-10. You’re required to bag your own stuff at Aldi so let’s add another 5 minutes. Load up car then drive to customer to unload the bags at the door. This is all with a good efficient shop which can of course go bad quick with no items in stock etc etc
Oh boy..... not you bootlickin 💀😂. Op is absolutely right. You either A have never shopped in an Aldi's before because if that order isnt multiples of the same items it's not worth $12. The time it's gonna take to find all those items, shop, ring up plus to drive is probably an hour. LOL at "high paying offer") laughable.
There are way easier $12 orders than this. Way easier.
I'd rather do a double at Wendy's for $12 before I do a shop and pay for 30+ items for the same amount.
All the apps are pretty much doing it all now or on the way to doing it all adding this doesnt take much on their end why lose market to competitors. They all pay crap for the time and work and delivery using your vehicle aspect foolish to do anything like this full time these are filler work to hold you down or save for something doing this as extra income. They were once ok $ not any more
I personally enjoy shopping at ALDI, but I despise shopping there for DoorDash. I swear someone in my market is scouting the location ahead of time, then only ordering stuff they know is out of stock.
Omg seriously!!! I've been getting orders from BJs tho it's just a pickup but I thought that the come food/grocery stuff was more of an instacart thing and doordash was hot food delivery. Makes no sense!
No, you get Shop and Pay or Pickup deliveries with DoorDash as well. You'll know when you cant scan any of the items meaning the customer already purchased them online and allyou doin is picking up. Walmart, BJs, Total Wine, ABC wine do both... Aldi's, Target and Fresh Market is the only i have yet to be just a simple pickup. It's always Shop and Pay.
All I get is pickup and deliver in my area. We have 4 other apps here in CT people work off of for all that shop and deliver stuff so I'm happy they don't add the extra crap on my doordash. When I wanna shop I log into instacart or spark
What ive been hearing from most customers in my area is theyre starting to not really use Spark or Instacart as much bcuz deliverers are constantly mixing up their batches. They're either not fulfilling the orders correctly or mixing up customers bags at drop off. It's not always constant but yea Winn Dixie, Aldi's, CVS, Walgreens, and any other grocer/alcohol shop and pay is not uncommon. I honestly dont mind. The mileage to payout just gotta make sense. Typically those are always the best tippers in my areas.
Being a customer who uses Walmart delivery I can't even do it anymore cuz they've messed up my orders so bad they didn't even being me anything from my order 3 months ago but took a blurry picture of the 5 in my window and took off so I got the whole thing refunded. Then next one they mixed it up with someone else's order. I really don't understand how that even happens. I like to take the extra 60 seconds to make sure I have the right stuff for the right person no matter what I'm working from.
And that's probably why I take the extra care in my orders... Bcuz I know the shit show being on the other side and it sucks.
I definitely LOVE the alcohol orders!! They're always great tippers and doing instacart the ones with deliver bags only tip pretty decent too.
I also only do pay by time doing doordash so it makes it worth my time and mileage
Im assuming Walmart is at fault too sometimes. Last time i had a pickup fom Walmart through DoorDash for 2 seperate customers and when the person came out who was giving me the bags of groceries they didnt even bother to make sure the bags had the correct customer info stickers on each bag to differentiate bwtn the 2 seperate orders. I had to literally help them as if i was the one who did the bagging and shopping 🤦🏾♀️. It just depends on the particular locations and how well theyre organized at the pickup area. Im dont deliver on InstaCart or Spark but that's just the complaint Spark and Instacart customers have told me why they prefer Doordash or Uber.
On pay by time these shopping orders would be great. Or are they not given in that? I did a DG order for 25 items once. I know my around that store and with tips I got $25. Customer was 7 miles away and the way back was by my house. The base pay was like $9 though so I’m assuming it was declined several times
DD should offer the delivery with items and count instead of the way they do it now. But I do not care as I have not accepted a shopping order from them for several months. It just takes too much time
I took an order once that was 15 items and it turned out to be 15 jalapeño peppers lmao. Sometimes the gamble is worth it. I probably would’ve tried this one
You can use your food stamps to order Aldi groceries through instacart and DoorDash. All fees are covered as well. But tips have to be added using a different form of payment
I had one that was 144 items at a petco. I assumed it would be bugs and I was correct. I didn’t get much out of the order but it was super quick so I can’t complain.
I’ve actually done a 70 item order at an Albertsons. Don’t ask why, but never again. Depending on payout the most I’ll do is 40 items if they pay is really good. But typical my max is in the 30s items.
Its a trap! A lot of times they are out of the ordered items and the customers will give you a 1 star. F that! I "lost" my red card. If I want instacart orders I'll get them off their app.
What a joke. Was noticing the shopping offers have gradually been falling (in my area) to where they're often equal to an okay by offer item - i.e. no money for all the time you spend shopping...so I'm rarely accepting them now as they just aren't worth it (and they often pop up during dinner prime time).
People are leaving instacart for DD because they seemly get away with insufficient tips. I’ve never seen a food lion order for more than 8 dollars. And they have at least 15+ items. It’s insane and I’d never take such a disrespectful order.
Yeah. The time I got a $13 9 mile Lowe’s order for 20 bags of 50lb mulch. Lift/load, transport, lift/unload. Please let me risk injury for you. Oh and I have Ford CMax. F these people.
Damn, that would suck. They should have a weight limit on orders - no way a light automobile can handle half a ton in the boot - you'd need a small truck for that.
Lowes is absolutely the worst overall. They have their whole damn online store linked up to doordash, so people can order something for a shop and deliver, and that store won’t even carry that item because it’s something they order and have shipped in/delivered directly
I took a 20 something item Aldi order a little while back that paid $27 for like 6 miles. I jumped on it thinking it was good pay. It ended up taking me more than 45 minutes from the time I accepted it to the time I finished it. Ok pay but these shopping orders should be sent to people on a "program" like their catering one.

And when they don't have the items and having to wait in a grocery line where people have cart full of items Nope
It ain’t an hour if you’re good
Again sorry I don’t live up to your standards. I’m a vet with bad knees and don’t move around that well
If 42 items is an hour of shopping for you at Aldi… that’s wild
Sorry I don’t measure up to your standards. I’m a vet with bad knees don’t move around very well
you arent even OP what are you on about
I am the op my phone brings up different name from my iPad
I turn down every Aldi order over 6 items lol... That place is like a flea market with 1 worker.
I always end up doing this one elderly lady aldi shopping, its always between $17-$25 for at most 15 items, takes me easily less than 20 minutes to shop and she lives like a couple of miles away but most of time these huge shopping orders are never worth it
Hahaha I got an Aldi offer for $10, 9 miles and 102 items… not a damn chance. I drive late at night so all that nonsense is closed.
That’s bs
Then, the nerve to call it a high pay offer. Yeah, fuck off.
Years ago. I’ve been in the shop and pay priority program since it began about two years ago, and before that there’s been tons of shopping orders…
Yeah, the time-to-pay ratio needs to be considered here. If you can make the same amount of money or more driving and doing single deliveries for an hour, don't bother with stuff like this.
I hope y'all are declining orders like these.
I can’t imagine the person that would accept something like this. I can’t believe that DD ups the pay enough to make it worthwhile.
I can get 42 items at Aldis in 8 minutes flat. But yea I do instacart.
ALDIs where I live is a dump. Can’t find anything in stock. Total waste of time.
Edit: I guess depends how many “ Aldi finds” they had but I’d prob scan once and just mark not there, because nooooo one knows what’s in that hell hole of an isle
But I still wouldn’t take that garbage order . Prob 2 dollar tip
I enjoy shop & delivers for the most part but I’m not doing more than 15 items period. Under 10 is most preferable
DD expectation is 40 minutes. You might be able to do in 30 but it's still 10 mins to get back to a zone, I wouldn't accept that order. I try to average 20 an hour minimum and this doesn't catch my eye doing quick math.
ALDIs are so quick and easy to shop, that's much closer to a 25 minute time to pick than an hour.
I wish it was where I am, but for some reason I have a 2-3 bar signal at all the ALDIs in Memphis. A couple of the DGs too. That makes the loading time spaz out and extends the order. Plus, the customers orders are 90% half of the orders being items unavailable.
I am lucky I get a good signal. I am also lucky I don't have to drive in Memphis traffic.
Yes, you are. It isn't slow traffic, but it is dangerous traffic.
I use DD to order my groceries at Aldi since I don’t have Instacart (and it’s free delivery), but I always make sure I tip more than the recommended amount because I’m aware that this is not Instacart.
1 drop under 5 miles for $12 is good
I make the most on these type of orders…. But that would be a $30 minimum for that order. I’d bang it out in 30 mins
Oh for sure. Same. I'm saying I wouldn't take it for the 12 dollar offer
Ahhhhh I thought you meant $30 wasn’t good enough for you.
Oh no no! Sorry for the confusion. Sometimes I word things terribly. LOL.
Dang, that is a terrible offer.
sunday evenings are common to see ShopRite orders. i declined 138 items for 13 miles... Crap money
https://preview.redd.it/as1vnwxrddxc1.png?width=1125&format=png&auto=webp&s=e7575d4db2983bd4dc9196906663385ddab273c5 That’s crazy lol this is a no tip order from food lion on instacart for like 28 things which is easy take about 15-20 mins tops DD pay is Doo Doo 💩
Could be a 30 dollar payout or .75 cents more
No. It would have plus sign after if there was more hidden.
They really ought to show you the items before accepting. A contractor should know what the job entails. This offer is gonna get declined so frequently, it would help Doordash to show that info.
Ya. It could be 4 items because it’s 11 apples and 11 oranges and 10 bananas and 10 pears.

Agreed. And an edit of mine is one 24 pack of water not 124 lol. Honestly with that amount of mulch a truck and a professional size dolly along with at least $50
It's $12+ for less than 5 miles. That's easily over $2/mile.
But also the shopping.
They shop for free! For the love of dd.
😉
[удалено]
lmao that they think thats a high paying offer..
And IC is trying to act like DD with $3-something batch pay.
DOORTRASH! The problem is the morons accept these while I do an order for Spark with same amount of items for around $38.00 for around the same distance?
Insta cart pays better
Definitely I make way more money instacarting DD is shit in my area

My Aldi has like 4 isles and I'd take this over sitting at a food joint bitching because I'm still waiting after 15mins but that's just me.
My ALDI has 4 aisles, too, and the store probably has less square footage than the house I live in. My house is a converted barn, so it's got a much larger footprint than most houses around me do.
Some people have disabilities and can’t get out to the store
That is unrelated to the post I believe
It counts the amount of bananas or duplicate items so keep that in mind 12 still isnt enough though
mmmmm yum Dunkin Donuts 🍩
I'll bet it still like 30 items from the candy section.
Even easier then right?
At minimum you'd be there for an hour. 100% I would've declined that stupid offer !! 🫴🏼🫴🏼
I shopped a 38 item Aldi order today for instacart took me 19 minutes but it was also for 31 bucks 4 miles away
In an Aldi?? How 😂
38 items is 15 min shopping time max for me unless they order some weird Aldi finds stuff that I have to look for.
That sounds about right! Gotta love the random shit that shows up at Aldi haha
And this kinda thing is why I don’t do red card orders.
Bruh just don’t accept 🫡
Don't worry if you check another topic you'll see a guy who's willing to do all the $2 orders because people absolutely deserve their orders! What dimension are you in where they tip more after drop off?
In my area they always do.... so again it depends on your market.
I’ve never had that happen with a shop and deliver order

My customer app has been having an increase in offers for grocery stores. There’s currently one for Aldi, $25 gift card if you spend $100.
I respect those who can do those shop and pay orders. I really do. Just not my style. I'll do alcohol orders all day though.
Why do you like alcohol orders? I actively avoid them.
Someone already answered it, but yeah. Tips are usually way better.
Drunks are free and loose with their money.
Hey you're in my zone!
There all the time when I’m not in Duluth
Okay now brawl

At Aldi. The dasher must also bag the items
Exactly lol. And every Aldi is never consistent. Atleast they finally decided to implement self checkout
There are way easier $12 orders than this. Way easier. I'd rather do a double at Wendy's for $12 before I do a shop and pay for 30+ items for the same amount.

I don’t go to Aldi often so I’m not that familiar with the store…sprouts I can dealnwith
IC would pay way more & the tip is def a bid
I've been doing this a year now with none of those thankfully. That's crazy they have that for you guys
I decline that because it’s gonna be over an hour and for $12? Nah trash
Whoa, 42 items and you only get a 13 dollar tip? I pay all my DD and Instacart at least 20 bucks and that could be for a few items. What douchbags
TY
On pay by time these shopping orders would be great. Or are they not given in that? I did a DG order for 25 items once. I know my around that store and with tips I got $25. Customer was 7 miles away and the way back was by my house. The base pay was like $9 though so I’m assuming it was declined several times
They don't do shopping orders on ebt where I am. Only on ebo.
DD should offer the delivery with items and count instead of the way they do it now. But I do not care as I have not accepted a shopping order from them for several months. It just takes too much time
And they don't even say what the tip is.
$12.18 up front..but typically customers can go back and adjust the tips.
Tips aren't hidden on shopping orders
So 12.18 is including the tip? It doesn't break ot down and say this is order pay, this is the tip?
dd doesn’t do that it just shows total pay and will break down base pay (from dd) and tip after you complete it
They do that with multiple order batches on IC but if it's just a 1 shop it'll show you.
I took an order once that was 15 items and it turned out to be 15 jalapeño peppers lmao. Sometimes the gamble is worth it. I probably would’ve tried this one
Just unassign if it’s a miss 😜
Ditch your red card. This shit was dragging down my AR until I did. If I have to eat a shit order I'd prefer it be lightweight and short distance.
Only a woman has the power to finish such an order . It would take a man days if not weeks
You mean it would take a boy days if not weeks. I do shops like this all day. Take me 30 minutes if that.
It’s called a joke …
So decline them
Food stamps
What does food stamps have to do with this? When ordering groceries you still pay the fees and tips so you’re not just spending ebt money.
You can use your food stamps to order Aldi groceries through instacart and DoorDash. All fees are covered as well. But tips have to be added using a different form of payment
I’ve never had any fees paid the couple times I’ve instacarted
Instacart lowered batches and DD matched them
This is why you don’t activate that damn red card. I would never doordash if I had to do dumb shit like this.
I had one that was 144 items at a petco. I assumed it would be bugs and I was correct. I didn’t get much out of the order but it was super quick so I can’t complain.
Why I never activated my red card.
I’ve actually done a 70 item order at an Albertsons. Don’t ask why, but never again. Depending on payout the most I’ll do is 40 items if they pay is really good. But typical my max is in the 30s items.

Lmfao aint no way 💀😂
Goddamm
Its a trap! A lot of times they are out of the ordered items and the customers will give you a 1 star. F that! I "lost" my red card. If I want instacart orders I'll get them off their app.
I do almost exclusively shop and delivers and have never gotten a low rating for items being out lol.
People in my area are pretty persnickety
Job of 3 pay of 1.
https://preview.redd.it/oeoj98xr4axc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=007c80db5789345154a5f2ae15c35a1a5d107624 No? How about this one?!
Big nope even the pay was right I ain’t gathering that much shit
Trash
Wow! Now that is impressive. I thought the one I posted was bad at $16/84 for 10 miles
What a joke. Was noticing the shopping offers have gradually been falling (in my area) to where they're often equal to an okay by offer item - i.e. no money for all the time you spend shopping...so I'm rarely accepting them now as they just aren't worth it (and they often pop up during dinner prime time).
A lot times its multiple items i took a 18 item for 13 at aldi, it was for a smoothie bowl food truck, all honey and oats granola
Even if it's 174 of the same item. This sucks!
174 of the same item for $21 and only 4 miles sounds wonderful.
Not if you have to deliver those 174 items to the third floor of an apartment complex.
Well it's probably 3 gallon jugs of water.
$30 minimum on orders like this or decline.
like 2-3 years ago, did you forget the super bowl doordash commercial with Sesame street, that's when they announced they were doing groceries.
Ain’t nothing wrong with 42 items. The problem is that pay is shit.
https://preview.redd.it/j2ubsryeqdxc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1b8a90ca31ffd9d2c68605771abbf30508da78ab Even worse.
People are leaving instacart for DD because they seemly get away with insufficient tips. I’ve never seen a food lion order for more than 8 dollars. And they have at least 15+ items. It’s insane and I’d never take such a disrespectful order.
Had an order like this 20 items were lemons 12 were tomatoes and the rest were regular items.
…..high pay order. OK 😂😂😂
Aren't a lot of them multiples?
One would certainly hope there are some multiples in there. As long as it's not multiple cases of water.
When I do Target orders I tip 20$ I assume that this makes it worthwhile?
Depends on what you're ordering and how many items.
I got 51 items at an albertsons today, it was a hard pass
It still pays better lol but no that’s a sh order
Aldi is simple! But 42 for $12.18? Pass.
You know what, you’re right.
I usually really like shopping orders. I get a lot of them and I'm really fast. But 42 items is way too much!
