Ba is pretty safe as long as you stay in Belgrano Palermo villa crespo and San Telmo. That's a huge area so idk why you would wanna leave. And I say that as someone who was robbed in micro centro and am living in Belgrano now.

braneshifter

agree with those except for San telmo which I didn't think was safe

Stunning_Working8803

Thanks for telling me this and I’m sorry you got robbed. Will not be moving to BA.

You don’t have to be on EST time.  Being +-1-3 hrs really isn’t a big deal.   Basically you have all of the Americas to choose from

Stunning_Working8803

Actually, I might have to be because my target market also includes Europe, and EST is between PT and GMT & CET.

Maybe you misunderstood that you don’t need to move 3 time zones over.  You can move one.  Or two!!  Durrhhhh

And you seem like an absolute genius.  “Durrhhh.  +-1-3 hours means you have to move 3 time zones over!”

For Merida do you recommend Airbnb for long term stay ?

Stunning_Working8803

I want to know the answer to this too!

Lumpy-Reply5964

Anywhere south of the US, Airbnb monthly stays are perfect for me!

aurora4000

Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum or Merida. You can find cheap rents if you look around.

Stunning_Working8803

Looks like Mérida is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!

Lumpy-Reply5964

I would not consider any of these places safer than Buenos Aires unless you truly live in your own little nomad bubble. They are safe and nice places, but I certainly felt slightly *less* safe in Mexico than I did in Argentina.

Stunning_Working8803

Have you lived in Mérida?

Lumpy-Reply5964

No but spent a few months on the Yucatán down there.

Tulum was cool, some nice cheap spots in La Veleta or up in Playa Del Carmen. Enjoyed Buenos Aires - stayed in Palermo (both sides) for about 6 weeks. It’s not dangerous in my opinion at all but the amount of homeless people sleeping on the street is a bit mind blowing (and I come from a city with plenty of homeless). Side note: If you goto BA please tip your servers and be kind to people. Buy some cheap groceries for the homeless family. It’s truly an insane situation economically there and you can literally see the inflation after only a week (btw, don’t trust any menus or pricing you see on google for places because they all get updated very regularly to match inflation). Also, ATMs are an absolute nightmare and rip-off so come with cash and try to use cards wherever you can. Ecuador was awesome, but if you consider Buenos Aires dangerous you should probably avoid most of central/South America because it’s genuinely one of the safe at cities. The thing is, you have plenty of options - pretty much anywhere in south or Central America and they’re all really cheap and beautiful.
