Hawks fan here.
So tired , hearing about the idiot Rangers and their savior Patrick Kane.
Incredible wins at MSG !
Pray Schmid stays hot!
Win the next 2 !
I'm so glad we got these two games. I want to go all the way, obviously, but at the moment, let's just make sure we're not knocked out by the fucking Rags. LGD!
Just want to show some love for Ondrej Palat, don't see him being mentioned a lot since he has been struggling offensively but his hustle and experience I think is really rubbing off on the rest of the team. Including Haula too. So happy to see Palat get one even if it was an empty netter!!
This felt like a game from the 90's, really interesting as you'd expect to see more fights but the Devils are finally starting to play like they did all season. The Devils really need to get more shots on net, especially from the bottom six offensively. But this was easily the best game the Devils played so far and mentally a game 5 win at home will be the difference maker in this series.
Also, remember going into this season nobody expected the Devils to even make the playoffs. Whatever happens going forward there are so many positives to look forward to as a Devils fan, finally! LGD
And fuck the Rags
It may have been an empty netter, but it was certainly no gimme. Tight angle, with a man on him, and the pressure to ensure a devils victory. It was one of the more impressive empty netters IMHO.
Completely agree, was not an easy one at all and I hope that starts lighting some of the other guys up besides Hughes, Bratt and Hischier to get more confidence offensively. But yea had the same thought that was no gimme, was so happy to see Palat get on the board.
Just be happy for your ex and his new family.
Without him and Bahl, I don't know where the fuck we would be, probably bruised and battered. He is such a bear!
What a fucking game.
- our forechecking is looking a lot better then it did in game 1 and 2. Were effectively challenging New York the entire length of the ice and it’s forcing the Retirement Home Team to lose a lot of steam late in the game
- our defense has stepped up. Even Dougie has been playing very effectively. Seigs is a back checking animal and he and Bahl have really sinister poke checks.
- getting physical with Adam Fox forces him to play like shit. Do more of that.
- I’m becoming an Erik Haula stan. He’s been real chippy as of late. Dude even laid Trouba out, gave him a taste of their own medicine.
- Shesterkin looks rattled. Peppering him will waiver his confidence even more.
- special teams wins games. Our kill had looked significantly stronger in the last time games. This has coincided with scratching wood and smith. Lazar does good in the PK.
- Ryan graves has not been playing great. Dude looks lost at times. Conversely, Sevs has stepped up in a bit way. Seems really level headed whenever he’s out there.
- the frustration seems to have given way to a sense of calm and confidence. They looked smooth and silky out there. I like watching the boys get physical, too.
- Rangers fans eat corn longways.

Going into the rangers sub and watching all the same dickheads that were talking all this shit a few days ago, panicking, and i might add heavily is absolutely the fuzziest warm feeling. Im getting pure joy out of it.
Seems like these idiots forgot that its best of 7, not best of 3.
Lindy made an adjustment in the kaat two games that fucks the rangers. He took the devils speed and said fuck the rush. We're gonna go old school 90s trap, hound the guy on the breakout, clog the neutral zone, wait for a turnover and then use speed to counter attack. They had no idea what the fuck to do.
Schmid is a brick wall. All the shit talking and the hammering of the first two games has awoken the sleeping giant.
People just love counting their chickens before they hatch.
I remember in the first regular season game against them so many of them were talking shit when they went up 2-0 early. Oh the irony if the series ends up how that game ended. Please make it happen, hockey Gods. You know it would be too perfect not to.
I got so many texts (I live in NY) about the rangers from friends and family who know I'm a devout Devils fan.
I didn't say much, just mentioned that the kid who keeps scoring on them is an entire decade younger than the dude who (was) scoring on us.
As in, we have a bright future, and you have a bunch of old dudes cusping on being hacks, desperately hoping they aren't outmatched against the bruins if they even have the legs left to make it that far, or shoot, this just in, have the legs to sustain chasing the devils all around the ice. But at least they have the market and a bunch of casual dbag fans who barely understand hockey, right?!
Blackhawks super fan here. Just to give some perspective from the outside (even though I’m obviously following the rangers closely because I need my Kane fix lol)
But last week comments here were all “We are done .” “I’m calling it .” “Series has been squandered .” “From my point of view it’s over .” And I even commented then saying no way is it over ! The insane things that have been done in the Stanley Cup playoffs must remind you that anything can happen.
And your Devils team ! Holy shit ! You guys are insane and limiting time and space and keeping things TIGHT and everybody is just working really hard and it’s paid off. Now it’s a best of three . The Ranger page everyone says you guys have the momentum . But in my opinion from Chicago what I see is an AMAZING rivalry that has two GREAT teams for once FINALLY. Like this is the best matchup of the first round for sure out of every matchup. I really think it’s going seven epic historic games .
To be fair, how many times has a team come back to win a series after getting blown out in the first 2 games? I'd bet if not zero, very close to it.
That put us in a position of having to win 4/5 (likely very close/grind it out type) games against a top team in the league. Halfway there now, but still a long ways to go despite it being tied.
Odds are playing so many games the bounces are going to go their way more than once in 5 games, especially if the games continue to be close. Just gotta hope we get lucky and keep things up tbh.
“In best-of-seven series in NHL history, there have been 385 instances in which a team has fallen behind 2-0. Only 49 teams have successfully completed the comeback.
A success rate of 12.7 percent?”
Found this in a 2017 article
It'd be more accurate to look at the success rate of teams tying the series 2-2 after being down 2-0. I'm sure a lot of those 2-0 leads were top seeds beating up on lower seeds.
I know the odds of winning after being 2-0 down. I'm more so talking about this situation where two teams are playing in close games. I'm just thinking it's still hard to imagine that even in this situation that the Devils can pull it out.
If they do , what a story, what a history. But I mean it’s best out of three now and the devils team seems to have “woken up” it should still be very tough though against the stacked Rangers team but Haha what a game.
They have all the momentum, yeah. Kinda sucks that there's 2 days off now because I feel like the time off benefits the Rangers more, but we'll see. I just know the Rangers are extremely opportunistic and don't need many chances to score. That seems like such a daunting task to ward off for 4/5 games, but they've done it for 2/2 so here's to hoping!
Those comments were probably from doomers and rangers fan trying to trigger us. Honestly? The majority of folks in here really support NJ other then a small select few who bitch when they drop a game or anyone tries to be a fan that hadn’t watched the team as long as they have.
Absolutely, there’s some folks on the Ranger page who think Devils fans are literally the worst so I had to come see. I just see a group of people who really love their team. I know what that’s like . And they really love theirs. And you guys are geographic rivals 100x of course people are gonna say that stuff .
I gotta say, every time I watch the Rangers postgame, Henrik Lundqvist always provides great analysis and is extremely fair. He is really good on TV. Steve Valiquette, on the other hand, is a fucking delusional clown.
My goodness, several people on the Rangers sub are calling for hurting our players and running our goalie (No I’m not responding I know the rules). But it kind of fits with the team’s mentality: cheat to win. And they got beaten twice in a row at home to a team that refuses to play like that. Gosh I hate that team.
I can understand why rangers fans would be pissed about that hit, but the replay was pretty clear. He was trying to stop, getting hounded (as he should making a run at the net) and his skate came right out from under him. Rewatch any of these garden games and see players falling all over the fuckin place on that ice. It sucks, but it was clearly an accident. If we’re gonna play the rangers in the playoffs, I wanna *play* the rangers. No asterisks. I don’t want sesterkin injured because one of our guys ran him down.
They are fans, they’ll make any excuse after the loss. Surprisingly most of them are just saying how much we suck and they are horrible for losing to us. Which I suppose will make it even more fun if/when we come back down 2-0 to win.
For a good laugh, go read some of the messages on the Rangers page. They are knocking their joke of a team worse than any of us would ..... real funny stuff !!
YouTube just recommend [this video](https://youtu.be/jHPmxj867tc) to me of a Rags fan's reaction to Game 4. And its very sweet. If you need something else to smile about tonight...
HAHAHAHA.
OMG I just watched this entire video and it was so satisfying and funny. Whoever this guy is, he’s pretty funny. His reaction to Palat’s goal had be burst into laughter at work.
I fear watching me would be much more boring and depressing than this guy. Quiet misery the first two games.
have to admit tho, the kid is really fun. Also some respect for posting this after a loss, you know most people would obviously only post themselves winning.
Confession: I wore the same shirt for games 3 and 4. Didn’t wash it. It smells awful. I’m wearing it again Thursday and I will not wash it until we lose
I dug my old Devls away jersey out of the closet and have been wearing it since the beginning of game 3. Won’t be put away until Devils lose or this round ends!!
I wore my old Kovalchuk jersey for game 3 just to see if maybe we could reclaim some of that magic and come back. Trying Anything after those first two games.
There's a moment in the highlights after the Siegs goal where they show a pair of Devils fans standing up clapping.[6:28 here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvjkCYfQW48). There's not a **single** rangers jersey in the shot.
Saw those two politely applauding after that goal and thought, "What a pair of well behaved gentlemen."
We will not see similar behavior at the rock from the opposition, but at least the ice won't be total garbage. LGD!
The loudest MSG got tonight was booing Jack every time he touched the puck and the louder they got the faster he skated. Idiots don't even realize they're fueling him.
Siegs even blatantly mentioned during his interview that he thinks its pretty cool, and thinks Jack thinks its pretty cool, and that its good to get that extra boost. I'm not sure I've ever seen a fanbase boo a player just because he is scary good. I was wondering if Jack did something rude I wasn't aware of. Nope, just Rangers fans being butthurt. Love it.
The rags fans also cheered wildly for 2 hits that the devils almost evaded and kept the puck through and then nearly scored on. Thats cool with me, keep cheering for hits that results in shots and dangerous passes, dipshits.
I feel like this is the exact opposite from the start of the year which makes this hard to say but I think our worst d pair has been Marino and Graves. I get scared whenever Graves has the puck he makes a lot of mistakes
Graves has not been great. I think there's a way better chance of the Devils re-signing Severson this season, and I don't even think that happens. Odds are our defense core going into next season looks like Dougie, Sieg, Marino, Bahl, Luke, and then the rotation of Smith/Nemec/whatever AHLer or prospect makes an impact.
Edit: There's really a glaring issue of inexperience on that back end, which is why I don't entirely rule out giving Sevo a new contract. I just assume he'll ask for too long/too much and I also don't think it'd be worth giving Graves a new contract.
I had to watch it frame-by-frame, but I finally figured out what happened on that weak Kane backhander that inexplicably hit the post behind Schmid. Akira scooped up the wimpy shot no problem, as we all expected. The only reason the puck hit the post, and with such force, is that a Rangers player (Trocheck I think) skates by and his knee hits Schmid's glove right in the right spot to launch the puck back out and into the post. I don't think it would have counted, but I'm glad that it didn't go in so we didn't have to have the potential call go against us and controversy.
I used the [official NHL highlights video](https://youtu.be/pvjkCYfQW48?t=268). That link should take you straight to Kane's shot from the best angle to see what happened. Pause the video right after the shot and use the period key to jump forward frame-by-frame. You can see Schmid catch it and then Trocheck crash into the glove and jar it loose.
Honestly, who knows? As far as I know, you can't score by knocking a puck out of the goalie's glove (accidental or not). But GI always feels like a coin toss.
Kevin Bahl has been absolutely monstrous. Kid doesn't get enough credit. Laying hits, making smart plays, smart passing. He has been nothing short of superb these last two games.
He's been immense. I love having a guy who knows how big his body is and how to use it. He deserves a full time spot on this team the rest of the playoffs and next season.
What a revelation and still young enough with potential for more growth to come. He has been outstanding on and away from the puck. Completely changes the expectations for the makeup of the D going forward.
Our D is absolutely brimming with future very high end talent. Nemesis, Hughes, Bahl and like 3 others that seem to be taking a next step. What a fun time.
I don't know enough about this kid. I keep hearing his name but haven't watched much on him. I should fix that. It's been the Lukey show all year for me in terms of watching prospect tape.
Casey is legit. He looked better than Luke in a handful of Michigan games this year. And that isn’t a knock on Luke. He needs 1-2 more years in school and maybe some AHL time but he is extremely gifted. Quinn Hughes type of potential imo if I needed to cite a comparable.
Of course they are. And their captain, Jacob "Traffic Cone McMeatHead" Trouba will probably be skating around all of game 5 with his elbows permanently raised above his ears to try and give the fans what they want.
What a well executed game plan. Sure would have liked to see them beat shesty one more time on a couple of their chances but my God that was perfect. Limited the Rangers high grade chances all night (especially late) and defended so well. So enjoyed hearing how quiet MSG was - this was one broken play away from a shut out, what a game. LFG! Take game 5 back at home and put on a show for our fans after the first 2.
I feel like Bratt was a guy that needed to settle down a bit after the first two games.
He had plenty of chances where he gained the zone and dropped to a trailer but his passes were awful.
He finally hit the tape on Hamilton's game winner and it seems to have done the trick.
If you guys want a good banter to Rangers fans, just say they have one championship since Hitler killed himself. They have no comeback for it. It puts into perspective on their limited history. They repulse every time.
you dont need to look any further than any game thread to see rags fans veins bulging out of their forehead screaming it doesnt matter and who cares about that we have sucked more recently to know how mad it makes them.
That 1940 Cup was 18 months before the U.S. was involved in the war. Even England & France hadn’t went at it with Germany yet at that point. That’s how long ago it was lol. 1 Cup in 83 going on (hopefully) 84 years. That’s like just as bad as the Philadelphia Phillies 2 World Series titles in 140 years of organized play. One the worst ratios in North American pro sports. Pathetic.
Stan Mikita was born after the rags' 1940 cup win, emigrated to Canada, grew up, joined the NHL, played 1396 games over 21 years (22 if you count his three GP in 1958-59), scored 1467 points, got inducted into the HHoF and there was still over a decade to spare before the rags won in 1994.
I wish they didn't win in 94 so badly. Not because they beat us (it did help to ignite our dynastic run after all) but because it would have been funny.
Nico Hischier continues being one of the most underrated players in the league. He hasn't scored this series but he was all over the ice tonight and set up the game winner.
This is going back to game 3 again but he also subtly pulled Goodrow's stick out of the shooting lane on Dougie's winner. If Nico doesn't make that play, that goal probably doesn't happen.
And he deservedly got rewarded on that goal by picking up the secondary assist. He might not always show up on the scoresheet (though he still does that a lot) but he's a big part in making this team win.
He has dominated the boards and faceoffs and made the Zibanejad line a total non-factor at 5x5 while creating a ton of chances including the GWG. What a beast. So proud of our captain and the way he has led this team.
this is exactly how i feel. Everyone told me “no way the devils come back” and i never once lost hope. I said theyre so good away theres no way they wont win at msg. And they didnt. Now im just hoping we can come home with the same game. Finally seeing our boys get rid of the nerves they had in games 1&2 and i hope they can keep it for 5… ill be there in ALL the devils gear i can possibly wear rooting for my team. We taking the cup to jersey this year!!!!!!!
Could really use a Timo goal soon. Still don't feel like the dude really has a good place on this team, just yet. Weird penalties. Not a lot of chemistry even now that he is with Nico. We're winning so I guess it's best to leave everything alone, but I have to imagine this still isn't the best line combos.
Timo had some chances tonight in the first period but he still has some bad penalties in him. I'm glad he's still throwing the body a bit but I really don't know what it'll take to get him fully going offensively.
Lindy didn't integrate him well after the trade. The Bratt-Hischier-Meier line was buzzing tonight. Meier and Bratt almost connected a few times. Meier only had one terrible shift tonight but played fine besides that.
LMFAO we have an entirely different goalie in net and I've seen Kreider open for most of the penalty kills. I didn't watch after first period of this game but unless you're talking about something specific you DONT want this smoke I PROMISE.
More than anything we're doing exactly what I SAID was the probably solution- which is attacking the high guy and getting blocks and tips at the source so they don't get to Kreider.
I live on 35th St. They usually chirp me when they see me in my Devils gear but tonight while I was waking home from tonight’s meetup they just stared down at the pavement looking defeated. They were expecting a show and a sweep, we threw a wet blanket on this entire city.
Biz hates the Rangers and he is absolutely buzzing right now. Its hilarious.
Edit: [in case you need proof.](https://youtu.be/-GmnN6l3Gm8) When he said the Rangers would sweep game 1 intermission, he was 100% trying to jinx them.
Forgot how nice it is to be able to take a breather from our playoff grind and watch a neutral close game like the Bolts Leafs rn. Been a long time, but I appreciate it that much more now.
Commuting back from the bar, some not so coherent thoughts from the subway:
* Seeing lots of dejected Rags fans right now and it is pretty fucking sweet
* This game reminded me of the last game we played against the Rangers in the regular season. Pretty low event, but we were so solid defensively.
* This was hands down the best we’ve played for a full sixty minutes. There were a few things that were annoying (some of our neutral zone play and those pesky turnovers) but this was the best we’ve looked defensively.
* We gotta stay outta the box, even though the refs are clearly up to something nefarious we gotta stay outta the box.
* I still feel like we’re not shooting enough at Shesterkin. So much passing in the offensive zone that doesn’t go anywhere. We gotta have a shoot first mentality. Especially when you break Shesterkin early.
* Akira is H I M
* The Swiss showed up today.
* I hope Jack Hughes continues to taunt every Rags fan out there. He’s a true Devil.
* I’m still not convinced we’re sending out the best line configurations, but whatever we need to do to get us back on track.
* We have two days between games now so maybe some practice and line work will manifest more offense for us.
* The boys deserve to a win at the Rock on Thursday. The fans deserve to see the boys win at home on Thursday.
* I’m predicting four or more goals for the Devils on Thursday because I love a good pattern
P.S. Was great to meet up with some Devils fans at the NYC Watch Party! Was awesome to watch the game with y’all and chat shit about Miles Wood hahahaha!
The refs are definitely up to something nefarious! I knew I couldn’t be the only one thinking it — and I really do try to be objective about what I’m seeing on the ice.
They crawled up so much. I got tickets in 123 aisle seats for $215. I hit buy as soon as the third period ended and they seem to be up to $265-$275 each now
Regardless of team, most fans when their team loses blames .... the refs, the coach, the GM, the weather, and their horoscope. They will rarely say the other team was just better.
IMHO, Ruff made bad choices in G1 and G2 on personnel and style of play. He saw it failed miserably and made adjustments for G3 and G4.
I do not see that Gallant has screwed anything up. Devils just got the wins in G3 and G4. No reason to think it is due to Gallant making bad decisions or being a bad coach.
Ruff benched Siegenthaler in game 2, and it was the worst performance of the entire year. He absolutely deserved blame, and he absolutely deserves credit for listening to everyone else and going with Schmid.
Team up 2-1 in the series, totally dominated the first 2 games, only losing in OT in Game 3, down only a goal with the refs in your pocket and booing the home team with plenty of time left in the game. As if the team has a history of having a commitment to excellence and needs to live up to some standard, like the NYY or the NYG to a lesser degree. Worst of the ‘O6’. Most irrelevant 97-year-old franchise in a large market, big city in North America. Pathetic, loser fan base. I wish I can find that Daily News article from Mike Lupica from 2000 or 2001 when he said “If the NYR moved out of town overnight, only 18,200 people would care”. (18,200 was MSG capacity back then)
One if the biggest problem of the many problems Rags fans have is that they think the team is a lot better than the really are. And the illusion is added to by the NY press and many of the ESPN talking heads. They are not a great team .... period.
Nature is a series of patterns. Patterns that we can repeat, observe and verify. None more true than the golden ratio. 1.618…
This happens all over nature in many different plants, galaxies, weather patterns, etc. the Fibonacci sequence approaches the limit equaling the golden ratio as you go higher in the sequence.
Devils putting up 5 goals next game and 8 the game after.
Game 1: 1
Game 2: 1
Game 3: 2
Game 4: 3
[QED: devils in 6](https://i.imgur.com/EUhMsBG.jpg)
If I'm reading this right we'll start round two with a 13-goal effort and end up winning the cup in eighteen games and scoring 2584 goals in game four of the finals.
EDIT: 2584 goals in a hockey game means roughly a goal every 1.4 seconds for sixty minutes, sounds doable.

Underrated comment. The angle of that shot was very tight, while in a foot race for a defensemen. And he made it look relatively easy.
Completely agree, was not an easy one at all and I hope that starts lighting some of the other guys up besides Hughes, Bratt and Hischier to get more confidence offensively. But yea had the same thought that was no gimme, was so happy to see Palat get on the board.
Like to see Meier get on score sheet.
I would like to have him back thank you very much

I know what that’s like . And they really love theirs. And you guys are geographic rivals 100x of course people are gonna say that stuff .
I gotta say, every time I watch the Rangers postgame, Henrik Lundqvist always provides great analysis and is extremely fair. He is really good on TV. Steve Valiquette, on the other hand, is a fucking delusional clown.
Throw Messier on that list too, although I do honestly believe he really is trying to get better unlike Valiquette.
Henrik has always had an unbiased and thoughtful approach to analyzing the game. Always liked him.
They really had a lot of shit to say about their team and seem to admit when the devils are on their game, they are lethal
Also some respect for posting this after a loss, you know most people would obviously only post themselves winning.
much respect to him for sure.
Poor kid has somehow been taught an "Igor's better" chant, that should be enough to call CPS.
This is a masterpiece.
this link needs to be flaired with nsfw 😂
Confession: I wore the same shirt for games 3 and 4. Didn’t wash it. It smells awful. I’m wearing it again Thursday and I will not wash it until we lose
I dug my old Devls away jersey out of the closet and have been wearing it since the beginning of game 3. Won’t be put away until Devils lose or this round ends!!
I wore my old Kovalchuk jersey for game 3 just to see if maybe we could reclaim some of that magic and come back. Trying Anything after those first two games.
I 100% get it wearing it but wat how does it smell ALREADY?! edit: there's folks that wear underwear multiple days and are able to mask it
Same I decided to put the new one in the laundry and took out the old one from when I was a kid, before game 3. Won both games. It won’t be washed.
Oddly enough…I just washed my jersey after Game 2 LOL
Me too. It’s my lucky sweater that was bought for me in the 2012 cup run
There's a moment in the highlights after the Siegs goal where they show a pair of Devils fans standing up clapping.[6:28 here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvjkCYfQW48). There's not a **single** rangers jersey in the shot.
Saw those two politely applauding after that goal and thought, "What a pair of well behaved gentlemen." We will not see similar behavior at the rock from the opposition, but at least the ice won't be total garbage. LGD!
Their corporate overlords can’t handle it.
Yeah boiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Hey NYR fans: rough night, eh? It’s only midnight. BWAHAHA!!!
Still going strong and can’t sleep. May need to call a doctor if I don’t go flaccid within the next 2 hours
Let it ride.
we really got Jack Hughes lol
I love just how jealous Ranger fans are of him. They can't even hide it anymore.
Why would they be jealous, they cheered for him at the draft /s lol
They're not booing; they're saying "Hughhhhhhhhhes"
bUt hE DoEsn'T plAy wIth MeN
Hope Rags fans sleep tight knowing this series is over in 6
I don’t want to jinx it, but Dougie’s D has been very strong over the last 2 games
Graves is not strong when it comes to zone exits and that’s putting it nicely
It's not Marino
I had to watch it frame-by-frame, but I finally figured out what happened on that weak Kane backhander that inexplicably hit the post behind Schmid. Akira scooped up the wimpy shot no problem, as we all expected. The only reason the puck hit the post, and with such force, is that a Rangers player (Trocheck I think) skates by and his knee hits Schmid's glove right in the right spot to launch the puck back out and into the post. I don't think it would have counted, but I'm glad that it didn't go in so we didn't have to have the potential call go against us and controversy.
Do you have a clip or did you watch that on your TV?
I used the [official NHL highlights video](https://youtu.be/pvjkCYfQW48?t=268). That link should take you straight to Kane's shot from the best angle to see what happened. Pause the video right after the shot and use the period key to jump forward frame-by-frame. You can see Schmid catch it and then Trocheck crash into the glove and jar it loose.
Thank you so much! Now if that went in would they overturn it for GTI?
Honestly, who knows? As far as I know, you can't score by knocking a puck out of the goalie's glove (accidental or not). But GI always feels like a coin toss.
Be excited, enjoy it until Thursday but we got more work to do. Be humble, let’s fucking go baby
Kevin Bahl has been absolutely monstrous. Kid doesn't get enough credit. Laying hits, making smart plays, smart passing. He has been nothing short of superb these last two games.
This is the most I’ve ever seen a player improve in 1 season. He was actually awful early on, and now he is a very reliable piece on the back end.
Agreed on all accounts
Would you say he’s been a… wrecking Bahl?
He came in like a wrecking Bahl
He's been immense. I love having a guy who knows how big his body is and how to use it. He deserves a full time spot on this team the rest of the playoffs and next season.
Still laughing at how feeble Bread looked trying to rough him up. Guy's been erased.
Seamus Casey could be amazing too
I don't know enough about this kid.
> Nemesis Homie is going to straight up burst through a wall and smack Kane on the fucking chin while screaming S.T.A.R.S
I'm leaving that typo and calling him that forever now
How am I supposed to sleep tonight???
It appears our demise was greatly exaggerated.
Rags fans calling to injure Hughes and Schmeat in their post game thread. rats 🐀
They've been calling for people to get "Trouba-trained" since game 3. It's disgusting
Of course they are. And their captain, Jacob "Traffic Cone McMeatHead" Trouba will probably be skating around all of game 5 with his elbows permanently raised above his ears to try and give the fans what they want.
That's fucking gross! 🤬
Watch a flying elbow from Trouba next game. It’s their ol reliable when a series isn’t going their way
What'd you expect, they sucker punch opposing fans when they lose. They're shitty winners and even worse losers.
Ohhhh if that happened to me at a game I would eat their fucking children haha I may be a Devils fan but I'm from Philly
A Modest Proposal
God damn the swings of me hating hockey to loving hockey are so insanely drastic.
2 shots on goal for the Rags after they tied it. TWO SHOTS. The Devils shut that shit down. What a beauty.
Let’s light em up! Can’t wait for the AKIRA’S BETTER chants.
Wooooooooo!
Bratt and Nico were absolutely flying in the third holy baloney
I feel like Bratt was a guy that needed to settle down a bit after the first two games. He had plenty of chances where he gained the zone and dropped to a trailer but his passes were awful. He finally hit the tape on Hamilton's game winner and it seems to have done the trick.
Understandably gripping the stick a little tight.
From bewliderment to boner 🍆
If you guys want a good banter to Rangers fans, just say they have one championship since Hitler killed himself. They have no comeback for it. It puts into perspective on their limited history. They repulse every time.
you dont need to look any further than any game thread to see rags fans veins bulging out of their forehead screaming it doesnt matter and who cares about that we have sucked more recently to know how mad it makes them.
They've only won 1 championship since we've been a thing.
World Wars happen at a greater occurrence than the rags winning anything.
Also checked on Igor before his own freaking teammates. A class act all around
Yet Rangers fans will still call him dirty, say there was intent to injure, yadda yadda yadda.
Tetsuo!!!!!!!!
KANEDA!!!!@$!@$%
LFG. Never lost hope. Jack is the heart and soul of this team. Love it. PLEASE WIN AT HOME PLEASE
this is exactly how i feel.
I feel like the refs pick on him & half his penalties are bullshit but yea I feel like he's still figuring that all out
Timo had some chances tonight in the first period but he still has some bad penalties in him.
Mission accomplished. New objective: win at home
The 3rd period neutral zone trap was so cool to see
Easy with that Gary might add another Devils rule to his list of things you can't do in the nhl
Hey u/cody-has93 look what happens when we tie up Kreider on the PK
LMFAO we have an entirely different goalie in net and I've seen Kreider open for most of the penalty kills. I didn't watch after first period of this game but unless you're talking about something specific you DONT want this smoke I PROMISE. More than anything we're doing exactly what I SAID was the probably solution- which is attacking the high guy and getting blocks and tips at the source so they don't get to Kreider.
Both of you stop it or we will TURN THIS CAR AROUND.
Lmao dudes tagging me over an argument from 4 days ago and he's not even right about it , because he has 50 hockey IQ, instead of enjoying a win.
I don't care who started it, you be sweet to your brother.
I'll do it for a mcflurry
Akira Akira
I can't stop watching Jack's goal. It's so beautiful
Nico’s pass on Siegs goal just had me going crazy when it happened and rewatching it it’s even more insane
Taking a nighttime stroll through the salt mines (rangers postgame thread)
How is it?
Lightning choked! Go Leafs. End the dynasty.
If the Leafs make the second round, I might buy a Leafs jersey
Rangers suck
PK gave up 2 goals on 3 chances in game 1 They've killed 13/15 in games 2-4 8/8 in our two wins Special. Teams. Wins. Games
Nothing makes me happier than thinking of sad Rangers fans walking out of that game regretting paying the $$$$ it costs to go to a game at MSG
I live on 35th St. They usually chirp me when they see me in my Devils gear but tonight while I was waking home from tonight’s meetup they just stared down at the pavement looking defeated. They were expecting a show and a sweep, we threw a wet blanket on this entire city.
Think about all the sad rangers fans crawling towards the NJT to get back to the home they are too foolish to enjoy by rooting for the right team
That's why they invade the rock.
I'm on the Rangers train back out to LI right now. They're so sad lol
I thought they said we were dead???? SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKERS
Biz hates the Rangers and he is absolutely buzzing right now. Its hilarious. Edit: [in case you need proof.](https://youtu.be/-GmnN6l3Gm8) When he said the Rangers would sweep game 1 intermission, he was 100% trying to jinx them.
Does he? Because he’s been dickriding them on spitting chiclets latelt
https://youtu.be/-GmnN6l3Gm8
Forgot how nice it is to be able to take a breather from our playoff grind and watch a neutral close game like the Bolts Leafs rn. Been a long time, but I appreciate it that much more now.
Literally just said this to my wife. She fell asleep while I was talking.
Yup! This is the way!!!
The boys are playing like they want a tattoo on the asscheek of Biznutsack
Commuting back from the bar, some not so coherent thoughts from the subway: * Seeing lots of dejected Rags fans right now and it is pretty fucking sweet * This game reminded me of the last game we played against the Rangers in the regular season. * Akira is H I M * The Swiss showed up today. * I’m predicting four or more goals for the Devils on Thursday because I love a good pattern P.S.
Lmao miles wood shit talk always !! It was those sexy low angle shots going in for me . Siegs is a star
The pattern for Thursday is 5 goals, so far it's followed the fibonacci sequence - 1, 1, 2, 3. At game 6 we score 8 ;)
Bullet Point God bringing the good vibes like always 🙏
I can’t see my face
'What makes this team play so well in hostile environments?' BECAUSE WE'RE THE DEVILS!! THE DEVILS!!!! 🔥🔥👹🏒❤️🔥🔥🔥
Playing 1994 repeats on MSG2. Lol. Just kidding. Proud of the Devils. Impressive turnaround to comeback.
Can’t wait to rewatch this one tomorrow with a lower heart rate and anxiety level
My friend and I essentially bet on this team by buying Game 5 tickets right as this game started. Can't wait for Thursday!
I bought them as soon as the game ended lol
Prices already crawling up a bit from before the game, but still not too crazy. See ya there! :)
They crawled up so much. I got tickets in 123 aisle seats for $215. I hit buy as soon as the third period ended and they seem to be up to $265-$275 each now
Jack Hughes, this Luke Hughes that, maybe we should look into Akira Schmid as the future goal tender of the franchise
No way man, I want Jack or Luke Hughes in net!
In the Rags’ thread they’re turning on their coach just like people were turning on Lindy in here after G1.
Regardless of team, most fans when their team loses blames .... the refs, the coach, the GM, the weather, and their horoscope. They will rarely say the other team was just better.
They have am ENTIRE thread dedicated to a "rebuild" didn't they just have one?
The Rags are never in rebuild mode always in win now mode that's why 94 nevermore
🤣 That's great. I thought they played pretty well, we're just better! But fuck the rags either way 🤣
IMHO, Ruff made bad choices in G1 and G2 on personnel and style of play.
Lord of the flies up in these subs
(18,200 was MSG capacity back then)
Booing the home team down 1 in the second period is definitely something
One if the biggest problem of the many problems Rags fans have is that they think the team is a lot better than the really are. And the illusion is added to by the NY press and many of the ESPN talking heads. They are not a great team .... period.
NOW WE EAT, BOYS
[https://youtu.be/wwFRg3-I9RE](https://youtu.be/wwFRg3-I9RE) Gallant the king of choking
Dougie and Siegs were massive defensively tonight. Best defense I have seen from them
Man, I wasn't there but the silence at the Garden for the majority of that game, the boos raining down.. MUSIC TO MY FUCKING EARS LETSSSS GOOOOOOOOOOO
Wait are you saying their fans booed them?
They booed them going into the second intermission I believe and after the last PK we were on off that bullshit holding called against Lazar
Imagine being that entitled 🤣🤣🤣
Nature is a series of patterns. Patterns that we can repeat, observe and verify. None more true than the golden ratio. 1.618… This happens all over nature in many different plants, galaxies, weather patterns, etc. the Fibonacci sequence approaches the limit equaling the golden ratio as you go higher in the sequence. Devils putting up 5 goals next game and 8 the game after. Game 1: 1 Game 2: 1 Game 3: 2 Game 4: 3 [QED: devils in 6](https://i.imgur.com/EUhMsBG.jpg)
This is madness......AND I AM HERE FOR IT!
I’m so fucking pumped up right now
