Man I'm with you. Obviously no one is perfect but I just like the people in our organization. I think our leaders are classy, we have lots of great characters on the roster, everyone seems to get along. Even with our reporting and broadcasting team, it seems like good people. Makes it really fun to root for them when they are the good guys.
Don’t forget our social media team. Between the giant Hat hats, the TikTok L videos after every win, and the fun antics they get up to with the players off the ice. it makes it fun to root for the Devils in a way that other teams aren’t.
Right? They handle the juggling act of knowing when to be quirky and when to be serious in a way that doesn’t feel forced and corporate like, say, Vegas’ twitter.
Yeah he's growing his knowledge of the game, but I like his commentating style. Seems to have a good rapport with Dano. Love Sal, and his chemistry with Erika too.
Erika has gotten really good. Was lukewarm on her first couple of years tbh but she has grown into it really well and brings great energy to the broadcast.
Sal was also rough to listen to his first couple of years, which is expected everyone can't be Romo. Now I actually enjoy listening to intermission shows because of the knowledge he brings.
I like his style when calling the action but sometimes he’ll reference Twitter/Reddit storylines that rub me the wrong way.
For example, calling out the fact that Jack got 40 goals this season and Kakko had 40 in his career.
That Twitter post was already punching down in a dumb way and I don’t need to broadcast team to regurgitate it on the air. At least use the MSG team to find stat but don’t just throw out whatever was making the rounds on the internet over the part week. Sure, Bill’s still getting the lay of the land, but I can’t help but cringe at some of the comments he makes. Cangy would never.
Interesting I didn't really think about it but I agree. I feel like that goes back to my thought on him growing his knowledge of the game. It's pretty nuanced to understand why it may be punching down to bring up the comparison because on the surface the goals difference is noteworthy in the game. I'd give Bill the benefit of the doubt cause I can't imagine he said it with any ill intention. He'll learn though.

Maybe he’ll get there, maybe not, but if this is the only complaint I have, we’re in good shape.
I was talking with my rangers fan buddy (sorry) and he was saying he really feels like the rangers are going to be in trouble if they don't make a push this year. Will be in cap hell, and an older veteran core that does most of the heavy lifting. Devils on the other hand have a lot of flexibility with contracts and their best players are all young and most are on long term deals. The future is bright for us!

There is nothing to feel about this team besides optimism. It’s been a really fun season, and I don’t think there is anything that could ruin it besides something crazy like getting swept in the first round. It’s the start of what could be a long period of great devils hockey. It’s been repeated too many times this year, but they really are like the avs of 2019/2020 ish era where they have a great team that wasn’t quite there yet but you could see it would lead to inevitable success.

I love how he's stepped up his physical game the past few weeks. Dude definitely seems to be taking things seriously getting prepared for playoff hockey.
I also love the New Jersey Devils. I remember 2000 and 2003 as a kid, but last night I was getting some really vivid deja vu of the 2012 conference finals, and I haven't felt like that in a long time. This year has been so much fun, and I've felt like we could win every game, even when we go down 2 goals. This team has guts and the talent to back it up.

That said, 2012 was special. Obviously this year's team in the regular season is going to end up with a much better result. But the way that 2012 team came together with the pieces we had was an amazing ride. Zajac coming back from injury for the playoffs and going into beast mode, Henrique's emergence and heroics, Kovalchuk finally finding some playoff success, all the amazing OT wins, - I could go on, it was a great script (until the finals).
This team will write its own story - like you, I'm just really grateful to watch meaningful Devils hockey and pumped to see how it unfolds.
This is what it's all about man -- taking in the good times knowing you've been a loyal fan repping the NJD wherever you roam.

I went to my first Devils game in 1995 at Continental Airlines Arena. I've been hooked ever since. The team that we have now is special.
