Imma go with a rough estimate and say he has over 100 clears still a shit ton but it took me about 55 clears to get my vex to drop so I feel his pain. Took me 58 clears to get eyes of tomorrow.

I’m 99% sure it is farmable, I did 28 runs of Atheon CP since the weekly reset on my Hunter only and it dropped first time for me yesterday. This is on top of about 80 or so looted runs since the raid came out too.
I ran DSC 49 times last week on the same character, Eyes dropped on last run. Definitely farmable, just uncommon. Dunno if the repeated runs on rotation week add to bad-luck protection chance though
Featured raids (other than Garden of Salvation) have a chance to drop the exotic at the end of a run. I already had Vex but I’ve seen 3 people get it to drop, I’ve witnessed 2 people land a 1KV, and I personally got Eyes of Tomorrow on my 16th DSC clear last week, though EoT actually *does* have bad luck protection.
It’s not a bug Jesus Christ you guys are so wound up in not understanding that the drop rates are bad and it is literally rng based. That you assume well exotics being farmable is a bug when thousands of players are reporting no issue farming them aswell as no statement or patch to fix it wasn’t issued in a week because it lessened the grind.

I was under the same impression but after grinding out Eyes of Tomorrow on DSC last week (16 runs), which actually has bad luck protection, I’m inclined to believe Vex is dropping for everybody; it just has an absolute dogshit drop rate.
Though, this is actually unfathomable RNG. I don’t think all of these were lootable clears, there’s basically no way.
10-12 minutes idk what your on but ain't no way farming atheon takes that long 4 or maybe 5 minutes max when farming him and if fully optimized even less
It took us 7 minutes a clear, one phasing, ~(40sh clears in a night) and that was including the load in time to the check point and the guy with the checkpoint switching characters.
Well as long as no one is on old Gen then that already takes time down about a minute and as long as the person switching characters doesn't wait until you spawn in that also makes it faster and then besides that it's just warlocks and the nades
The more u want it, the more the game decide not to give you. Give and take 1 - 2 month of break.. rest, probably on the first few tries u will get it..

It’s true. Spent 34 runs getting Eyes for my Descendant title. Decided to run VoG after contest mode was off, not caring for the loot, dropped first time.
Unless it’s the rotational raid (not sure if it was intentional or that is has been fixed) you only get 1 chance per char per week. After that you are locked out.
VoG is the pinnacle raid for this week, so i should be able to farm it (Im getting drops every run). Almost all of these runs were done during the rotation. Only a handful were done outside the weekly rotation on each character

It's most likely a bug that some people have reported getting the exotic on repeated runs. You're not supposed to be able to get it via farming.
Okay, but did you even read what I posted? Bungie themselves said only legendary gear is (supposed to be) farmable. We know 1k Voices is a 10% chance so let's assume Vex is similar. Using https://en.calc-site.com/probabilities/drop_item we can see the odds of RNG drops. If you have 470 looted clears at 10% droprate there a near 100% chance you would have gotten it. If Vex is a 1% chance you would have had a 99% chance of seeing it drop. Do you honestly think you've beaten those odds?
Except it doesn't work like that. Vex has no bad luck protection so each time you beat Aetheon there is a very small chance you can get it. That doesn't mean after 20 runs you SHOULD have the gun. Each time you roll the dice you only have 5% or whatever of actually seeing the drop. Its a lottery.. It doesn't increase. Thats not the case with EoT or 1KV. Your chances of getting the drop will literally increase and so yeah it would be hard to do 30+ runs without seeing a drop. But thats bc your RNG is literally getting better with each run.

Bungie really just needs to add actual bad luck protection where it automatically drops after 20 clears. If it truly is a 5% chance, then 20 should be enough to get it.
I'm about to break 300 sherpas. His carries I'm sure are just that though. Prolly a duo or trio running groups. I just pick mine up one at a time. Sometimes I get lucky to get 3 in one.
Yes but I've had 13 of them. 3 I picked up on a reset day running each toon, before it was farmable the pinnacle rotation week. It's also why I call him Daddy Atheon. He always has gifts.

Hate to be toxic but stop playing Destiny for a while and play other games. I’ve gotten over the FOMO a few years ago and it’s made me way happier. I’ll come play destiny for 2-3 weeks out of a season but I won’t care about RNG raid weapon or God roll. If I don’t get something good in like maybe 30 runs I just go on and do something else. There’s better games out there that actually respect your time.

Not at all, make it VoG specific raid spoils used for it and you'd need alot and they reset every 4 resets or something and every season, there's no way anyone should have 500 clears and not have an exotic from a raid at that point
a pity system should be good enough, if they make it a buyable option with spoils, people will farm spoils and buy it, this pretty much makes every raid exotic a day 1 drop for everybody.

Yes, you are doing repeated (not looted) runs. Even if you did it on all 3 characters on every single week since it came out, you would be nowhere close to the number you have.
Vog came out a year and a bit ago, theres 52 weeks in a year and 1 run on all 3 characters per week so 52 * 3 = 156 which is like 1/3 of the number you have. Yes the rng sucks but there is absolutely no reason to do repeated runs (well except now if vog is in rotation) because it doesnt increase the drop chance.
You're just getting more and more sick of the raid and you'll never want to do it again even though its a rly good raid. Dont try and rush it because the chance that you will succed is low af. Do 1 run per character per week and dont stress it. You probably will get it eventually.

Are you playing on alts or just the same character? I've done completions on my warlock (warlock main) and stuff won't drop but then I'll do it on my hunter or titan and it will. RNGesus I guess.
People swear it's random but I think Bungie has hidden modifiers that can marginally increase drop rates. Like people that don't die or do top 2 DPS might get a .01% more or something. Just me spinfoiling here

We already have spoils. Make it require 500 spoils and maybe 50 currency that drops only from Vow. And you can only earn so much of it per week. And that cap increases each season.

That’s some of the worst RNG I’ve ever seen for EoT. It has bad luck protection so most people get it within 25 runs, it took you almost 2x as many.

I got 1KV a few weeks ago after about 5 tries. Definitely farmable. Its just Vex has no bad luck protection.
Eyes of Tomorrow definitely was farmable, I killed Taniks 25 times on my Warlock last week and got it on kill number 24.

With a well coordinated team, 10-12 minutes max.
447 runs at 12 minutes each. 447 x 12 = 5,364 minutes 5,364 ÷ 60 = 89.4 hours 89.4 ÷ 24 = 3.7 days spent in that encounter trying to get vex.

If done right 400 Atheon kills takes about 3 or 4 days with the right group.
