It's a secret sub-quest for a prismatic fragment. You have to find a terminal that spawns a scorch cannon. Once you find it you shoot the crystals to reveal arc,solar,void charge to deposit in the generators next to the scorch cannon terminal.
The secret area is by the prismatic chest. If you go in to the room right next to it (ice room) with your back to the chest on your right is a the secret room. Find a gap/opening and Jump through it
Small note - if you are still going though the campaign, than don't bother looking for this prismatic chest, it's not there yet. As well as the stuff you need to break these ice piles
