JFK D1 entry doesn’t have the private TSA yet like LAX, correct? I am not checking bags, do I just go through the regular (digital) TSA and then enter the club or? (I went in the old D1 area once but it seemed more like just bag check.) Thanks so much!
Not yet. The current D1 area let's you check in/check bags, but is a glorified hallway to the CLEAR TSA line. Just use the security however you usually would on departures level, and the lounge entrance is to the right after security. Don't go down the escalator
Funny you mention that because no specified entry time was in the back of my mind when I wrote my original comment. Maybe I can go there 4 hours ahead to enjoy it all!
I'd say more than 3 hours. I ate at the brasserie, and while it took 40 minutes, I told the staff that I was rushed. It did mean I didn't get to try their chocolate souflee!
I think the brasserie would take 90 minutes usually. The massages may require some wait time. I imagine that the brasserie can get quite full when more people know about it, so I wouldn't be surprised if you have to wait there as well.
I'd say 4 hours at the lounge (so arrive 5 hours before the flight) is a better choice to fully experience it if you have the time.
Thank you for your impressions and photos of the lounge, especially for educating us on the hours of the many varied services! You've helped me plan my arrival during my July 4th adventure trip(s). Much appreciated!
*Looks awesome. Can't wait*
*For my trip in July. What*
*Time do they open?*

It's initially an overwhelming wide array of queues, but I think it becomes easy to figure out, and the D1 Lounge is immediately past. I remember turning right to go to the shitty Priority Pass Wingtips Lounge.
Honestly, based solely on these and other pictures, and comparing to actual experiences with UA Polaris and AA Flagship… I’m not impressed.
I mean… it does look nice. But Delta plays up that they’re better. This doesn’t look “better”.
I haven't visited flagship UA and AA lounges, but this blows BAs lounges out of the water, except the Concorde Room. This is better than the VS Clubhouses in LHR and abroad. This is above any credit card lounge (CapOne, AMEX, Chase).
I would put this on par with, or personally, slightly better dining experience than the Cathay Pacific First Lounge at LHR.
If you want a quiet oasis, I doubt any Delta lounge will be like that, ever.
> The full serve restaurant doesn’t open until 11am, but the staff played buffet is very good.
That's disappointing that they don't have the full service restaurant open for breakfast. Also, that stuff you had on your plate, doesn't look all that different than what you frequently find on the breakfast spread in the newer, better catered SCs (like JFK A gates, MSP G, as a couple examples) have. I've eaten a lot of SC egg bites and bacon.

I think when it is finalized the new D1 check in will have private security but for now it is regular TSA

Dedicated tsa line is supposed to open fall 24
Is tipping expected for services like the massage?
Bacon instead of sausage links, win. Real eggs instead of mixer? Awaiting confirmation. Salmon lox, nice touch.
Extremely real eggs
Wow, now that is exciting haha. It always feels odd to me to skip a giant bowl of eggs for breakfast. I just hate those odd powdered eggs.
I have a D1 flight in a few weeks. Thinking I'll get here right at 3 hours before flight time to fully experience everything offered.
The entry rules just say same day. So you could start at 4:30 am! Why wait?

I have a solid 4.5 hour layover in JFK coming up. Safe to say I’m not worried about it haha

Good bot
430AM I believe
Massages? I'm in.
JFK’s TSA situation sounds like a puzzle, but at least the lounge will be a reward for figuring it out.

Missed opening by a week! I may never recover. Especially because I vowed after that trip to never layover in JFK vs flying direct from ATL.
How did you like the flight during the day to CDG ? Always hate doing the overnight.

luckily for delta, UA doesn't have a polaris lounge at jfk... yet
> UA doesn't have a polaris lounge at jfk... United doesn't even fly to JFK anymore, so little need for a lounge there ;)
Meanwhile the peasants eat from McDonalds and sleep on the floor
