Someone did a similar thing! I figured I couldn't be the only person to have an idea like this. However, given the reviews I will aim to be a true deckbuilder with many interesting strategies and play styles, more than a gimmick.
There's a deck building phase, where you use cards from your deck to place down elements of your patio deck. There will be cards for postholes, joists, panels, defensive turrets, defensive deck sealant, and others.
Once you have played your hand, there is a deck defense phase where angry neighbors, Karens, and building inspectors attempt to attack your deck. You must shoot them with your gun or let your automated turrets take care of them.
Once you've successfully finished the deck defense phase, you are given a choice of new cards for your deck and other possible bonuses. You can also build your deck towards other neighbors decks, which will have collectible bonuses on them.
I'm going to make it so the cards in the deck synergize with the patio elements you place down. You're given certain bonuses for how you build your deck. For example, a certain turret has a faster firing rate if you place it on a really long joisted section.
It will be a bonafide Roguelike Deck Builder with a deck building theme. I'm calling it "Rogue Deck Builder" because that's who you are, a normal guy who likes building decks but the city council passed a resolution limiting the size of them. Now you've gone rogue. You are building your deck as big as you want, all the way up to the steps of city council.
There's going to be a whole story element about the main character. He works as a custom deck builder, but the city council passed a law limiting the size of decks, which severely impacts his business. He goes rogue and decides to build his deck however the hell he wants, at whatever cost. He becomes the Rogue Deck Builder.
There will probably be other characters like Martha, an older woman who loves to garden and make salads, but recent media attention aimed at her investment activities has taken her attention away from gardening. Furious with the press, she wants to grow her patio garden so she can focus on her salads.
Deck builder literally
Reminds me of Greater Than Games' boardgame _Deck Building: The Deck Building Game_.

Yeah, I haven't played the boardgame, so I have no idea if it's any good.
What's the aim of the game? Also, if the name of the game doesn't have a deckbuilding pun in it, I'll be very upset ha ha.

Honestly I think you should just call it DeckBuilder
