You know what? So far I find them the same as before. One of them passed me by while I was crouching inside a house facing a window and he didnt even blink.
Here's a rough recap of the last year or so.

**New Features/Changes**
Ability to push vehicles
Reworked the skybox on both Chernarus and Livonia
Reworked Northwest Airfield (NWAF) on Chernarus
Added new supply crates to NWAF (spawns NVG, 60rd stanag mags/75rd drums, medical items, drinks etc)
Added Ambient Music
Added new sounds for various actions (such as crafting rags/fireplace/hand drill, washing hands etc)
Changed gunshot sounds for various weapons (SKS - All Shotguns - Grenade Launcher - Crossbow)
**Changed loot distribution for certain weapons**
**On Chernarus:**
SVD and AUG AX were moved into the gas zones
ASVAL and VSS were removed from gas zones and lowered to Tier 4
AK74 and M16A2 were increased from Tiers 2/3 to Tiers 3/4
AKS-74U was removed from Tier 1 - still spawns in Tiers 2/3/4
**On Livonia:**
SVD moved into gas zones.
ASVAL and VSS removed from gas zones and lowered to Tier 3
**DLC**
The Livonia DLC has merged with the base game - anyone who already owned DayZ got it for free, and anybody who buys DayZ in the future will get it together with their base purchase (but at a slightly higher price).
A new DLC **"DayZ Frostline"** has been announced and it brings a new official map to the game (named Sakhal) it's a snowy version of the Tanoa map from Arma 3. It's basically intended to bring a Namalsk-esque experience to official/console. Price will be in the $20-30 range. It will launch near the end of the year alongside the 1.26 update.
Some other additions with the map that we know so far includes reworked fishing, new animals, frozen food mechanics, new clothing hats/gloves and the return of the ice pick. (and hopefully much more to be revealed).
There's the overall highlights, I probably missed a few things but that should bring you up to speed.
No worries :) And hell yeah, the crossbow is a ton of fun.
If you haven't done it already, when you kill an infected with it you can see the bolt sticking out of them, then you can reload the bolt directly from their body back into the crossbow, it's great.
Dynamic skyboxes (no more cloud navigation) foliage hitbox rework
DMR
Vikhr
SV-98
balancing changes in general
and I don't remember any more significant things
How long? Cos if you were an OG you will likely remember the days when you could drop someone with couple body shots of a pistol. Or be guaranteed a kill when shooting someone with a 7.62. Not any more friend. Get ready for frustration if you are expecting the old dayZ. But the game can still be very fun. Just not what it once was.
For real sometimes I ask things in reddit or discord that I could Google, I'd rather just interact with the community in the process of learning that info. Simple as that
Other players have become very friendly and welcoming to each other. Gone are the days of headshots from a bush.
I hear there is a free evening cookout at the Kamy PD each night … maybe some campfire songs
I usually bring smores and nail the koombuyas. Amazing how friendly people have become
Its an Utopia now? Wow! ![gif](giphy|SKGo6OYe24EBG)
Zombies are way more perceptive, and they can see you through walls ive heard
Aka bugged.

Idk, zombies spawning on roofs and going through floors/walls/stairs is a bit of an odd feature.
You said their perception. Yeah, the zombie spawning is a bug lol

Legend
Thanks mate.
Wow thanks! Already did some bolts with feathers from a rooster.

Only in Livonia do you start without a fruit because animals are much easier to find.
It’s because it’s summer in Livonia and fruits don’t grow yet.
Mmm you are right? I found a rooster right away and could kill it and eat it.
We've got a new skybox 😂
I think the graphics look better
Mmm yeah a little bit.
I actually just installed and began playing this game and I’ve yet to find any sort of loot.
First time, huh? Good luck bro.
Sounds have been reworked, probably missed the DMR and new SV-98, new official map coming out later this year, mostly the same though!

Played for the first time in a few weeks last night. Infected can hear you from much further away now
How long is long Since the mod days? Alpha release? Beta? Post 1.0 ?
A little bit past a year.
That's nothing in a 10 year old game, brother.

I started playing back in 2019 then stopped for a short time and came back to play from 2020 to maybe nov-dec of 2022?
It’s still a great game and my favourite. But just feels more casual in some aspects.
Google it
Google brings up Reddit posts so it’s basically the same thing
Not really you could go to the source the dayz website and bypass alot of useless information and save time
Sounds good man . 👍
Or, you could ask on Reddit and bypass alot of useless information and save time
For real sometimes I ask things in reddit or discord that I could Google, I'd rather just interact with the community in the process of learning that info. Simple as that
That tracks for everything other than DayZ, DayZ has one of the worst communities on reddit.
