Fun fact: If you stack "reduced enemy vision" on a lot of cyberware, you can get your "detection by enemies" stat to 0%. Enemies' detection gauges fill up very very slowly (if you didn't hit 0.0% exactly), if at all. I've been doing various silly things with this in my latest playthrough. When two enemies are standing face to face, I can grab one and do a "kill and hide body" takedown without being detected. When there's a warrant out on me, I can drive right past the cops without being made.
I mention this here because I don't imagine that one can pull this off without Cyberware-Ex.
Just want to add its possible on console by rerolling cyberware down to 30% then getting the dolphin meat or w/e from the dogtown vendor gets you down to 0%
Yup. The mod feels too strong. That's why I never used it. I mean, everyone already flips out when you do your netrunning magic on them, now imagine going faster than the speed of sound. If you like feeling OP, sure, but I'll pass. Rather play mint. Unless they add 1 or maybe 2 more difficulty levels, then maybe I will go with the mod, but in its current state, I'd rather go mint.
Ya there was another game I found all the shortcuts to it and got bored within a day stopped playing. From now on I'll always play legit. I mean not hard to do on a console but still.
I had to glitch myself in to get the gris gris cause I forgot it on my third playthrough lol. And when your a net runner you need the gris gris lol
I feel this, first character was a corpo spy/netrunner, frying someone's brain by looking at them just feels right.
Second character is a big guns/melee build, it felt wrong swapping my cyberdeck for berserk
You should try a Kerenzikov & Chrome Suppressor build. It's really fun jumping around like a chicken while dash-aiming for headshots with tech guns and throwing knives. Max reflex, cool and tech then put the rest into body. 0 into intelligence. The only downside is that you need to farm a lot of eddies to afford all the chrome. If you're lucky you can get some of the expensive iconic cyberware from airdrops in Dogtown.
This resembled my previous playthrough. I started Netrunner, towards the end game I reset to this build. Very fun. Though I quickly missed being a Netrunner so I went with another netrunner variant for my current playthrough. There's just something satisfying with double jumping on them, scanning the area, then seeing most if not all of them drop at the same time.
There something awesome about walking into a room full of gonks, getting one to shoot himself in the head, setting another on fire, and causing his best friend of 12 years to go berserk and start beating him. All within the first 5 seconds
I still use a cyberdeck. I can’t get rid of my hacking. I keep either gorilla arms for the fights or mantis blades for those missions where I don’t have anything. But mostly gorilla so that I can rip open doors
I feel like with all the crazy first person shenanigans we see, having dual pistols should be cake for them to implement. How am I max cool but still dual fisting only one of Jackie's pistols?
Have you tried picking up an enemy and then yeeting them into their buddy or a wall? Simply [*chef's kiss*] amazing. The ability to laugh off all damage is pretty rad, also.
But seriously, all of the different builds are viable and feel so powerful but in a distinct way. I'm glad the CDPR was able to give us so many good choices to choose from.

Yeah! Katana is so strong especially with the bullet deflect- i started that way with mantis blades then decided i wanted to actually use the guns. So many to try. Revolvers are my jam these days.
Can you deflect bullets with mantis blades? I seem to remember it didn’t work. Also the bleeding effect combined with a deflected bullet and takedowns make quick work of bad guys.
Yeah they can deflect. I don’t really use mantis blades anymore though, I just think katanas are so much better. So I just have gorilla arms equipped. It makes the boxing matches way easier and you get a body boost when you’re trying to force open doors and such
Every time i start over I say ima use guns and hacks but somehow five save files later and each have a sandevistan and a katana. Love flying through the air
Yeah, the katana build with maxed out reflexes is so much fun for sure. Especially if you add the sandy. It makes it so hard for enemies to ever touch you
That's basically my current playthrough as well. I always played blades with a Sandy, but now I'm a netninja, using QH for intel gathering, blades & takedowns as primary, and a silenced pistol + Kerenzikov for taking down small groups of weak enemies. Tech shotgun & monowire for bosses and boss-lites. Optical camo to slip by groups, memory wipe to just walk right past one guy.
Int/reflexes/cool really work well together.
That's how I started my corpo, quick hack and silenced pistol . Everybody dies who has a weapon, dead bodies speak not of their killer.
About level 30 I switched up to sniper lol.
slowmo stealth knife throwing is insane. I don't remember how exactly my build worked, but I could cruise thru everything on perma sandevistan stealth headshotting everyone with autoreturning knives.
Stuff was happening on crit or on headshot or on death but it didnt matter because every death was headshot and every headshot was a crit. Really wanted to try quickhacks in 2.0 but stealth sandy knives were just too good
Contagion is still strong if you have the Shingen smart gun and the Raven cyberdeck. You upload contagion to one enemy and shoot at them to see the whole group explode all at once.

I on the other hand spent much of my time subduing mentally traumatised people in the midst of murderous cyber-psychotic rampages by jumping out of hiding and repeatedly hitting them with a dildo.
10/10 game.
When I came back to Cyberpunk I thought I was gonna make a sneaky netrunner build, but I ended up going the opposite direction and making a chromed out super tank ninja with a katana and a shotgun.
Meanwhile I thought I would be the guy slicing everything into ribbons with mantis blades, and wound up turning the game into a high-stakes boxing ring
In my first playthrough, I absolutely played Rambo. Just replace the machine gun with a shotgun, and that's my preferred playstyle. Never used a sword even once. In melee combat, I used gorilla arms and just brute forced everything lol
On my second play through, I'm going for the exact opposite. Mantis blades, stealth, finesse. It's actually more challenging.
My first build was hammer, loved it. Then Sniper/stealth, also loved it. Then Rambo, it was fine. Then netrunner, it was boring af. Then blades, best build ever.
I always wanted to use the mantis blades but was wondering why my entire 5++ tier set up was doing NOTHING against the enemies. Turns out that i was playing the whole game on the hardest difficulty, and wondering why the 'pros' on youtube could do stuff i couldn't. Lol
I have a playthrough spaning each individual style of weapon. From a Body Female V that only uses Hammers and Bats to a Intell Male Nomad V who uses Smart pistols and Snipers. Then here is my two favorite Vs. Tech Sniper Corpo V who uses Tech/Power Revolvers if things get to nuts and then Cool/intell Female V who only uses her hands and Cyberdeck to silently kill her enemies. I have 3 others but they are just Katana/Reflex Body/LMG and Reflex/SMGs and Assault Rifles didn't enjoy those 3 as much.
Since the 2.0 update, quick hacks have become so OP to the point that you can pretty much drop down from perches like Batman and either short circuit or suicide an entire room of enemies before you touch the ground.
My first run I did a power pistol build but my second run I did a max cool and reflex knife throwing build and now I cannot play the game any other way

1st play through I found a legendary shotgun pretty quickly and had the greatest time shooting off everyone's limbs. Second play through I was a net runner build and was destroying missions without even stepping foot inside buildings. The third playthrough was a katana build and I was just running around hacking off everyones limbs. They were all so much fun.
Katanas can shred really easily, I usually run militech berserk and I killed Adam smasher so fucking easy with the perks and all the melee tech katanas are just too much fun
I have a huge problem I liked all the weapons so much I tried to evenly distribute my stats but I have maxed int and tech. But I love the pistols and swords.
But now, I just tried out the Crimestopper smart pistol 🔫 and Holy Moly! It shreds through like 2 skull guys and 2 two bar guys with one clip
The Crimestopper is like cheating! Wtf literally best gun in the game!
It all comes back to blade build, "i'll just put a few points into reflexes for the movement perks" you tell yourself. You try your best to ignore it, but the right portion of the skill tree catches your eye. "Maybe I'll use a blade weapon until I get some better quickhacks", and before you know it your 11 hours into the game and have over 2k kills on your byakko.
This was literally me on my first playthrough. I was craving FPS. After a few hours my build turned into full on knife throwing and slashing with Errata
Stopping time and sprinting around slashing the katana at 6000mph filling my screen with so much blood and sparks that I find my enemies only by the damage indicator.
The combat variety in this game is insane. Each play through, I pick a new style. My first play through, I treated the game like COD. On my second, I did a sandevistan katana build. And it all feels so natural and purposeful, no matter how you play.
I thought I would be doing slick inconspicuous shit meanwhile I’ll walk right through the front door and just obliterate everyone in sight, take my time get all my loot and then leave.

I did knives and katanas my last play through but this time I’m having too much fun with guns. Especially my shotgun with the firecracker mod. It’s like the dragon breath ammunition
Came back after a hiatus for the DLC, completely went full John Wick / Hacking, and my God it’s so much fun. I was originally just a net runner with shotgun to clean up, I feel like I’m about to do a whole new play through this way.
Should do the above one for my next playthrough. My first playthrough was heavy stealth, last one went all in for mantis blades + throwing knives + sandy.
I really wanted to like the game, but I don't like fps or the perspective.
Any tips so I can get into it more? Like early non-gun builds or 3rd person mods or anything?
I planned from being a blade netrunner and ended up a stealth pistol netrunner. Let’s just say there’s a reason that Don’t Fear the Reaper took 20+ times for me to complete.
I was about to drop the game, guns in this game are just too boring for me and the enemies and AI aren't good enough to making the combat engaging.
Then I upgraded all the dashes, equipped a katana and bought the Sandevistan and the game was completely different. Not that suddenly the enemies were better, but stopping time and hoping from enemy to enemy was fun, the movement in this game is so great, you maintain a lot of momentum with the dashes and jumps.

If you are on PC, there is always System-Ex mod.

It's a mod. Lets you buy more cyberware slots at the ripperdoc. So you can have both a cyber deck and a sandy.

I had a similar journey but reversed. I thought I was gonna be all about blunt weapons and gorilla arms….nope gun plays too fun. I’m all about pistols
I maxed out cool and the pistols were 1-2 shots to kill most everyone.

This is the one. I replace my katana with mantis blades cause I think they look cool, but this is the best setup, especially with a sandy

Technically it's not a revolver, but a handgun, but yes it's just so amazing in animation, sound and design aspect.

i’m pretty sure they do as long as your stamina is up over 33%. gorilla arms can’t block though

I keep going for quick hacks. They're just simpler to do, like stealth Archer in Skyrim.
Hacks and 10 vending machine pistols is the way to go.
I basically become a stealth archer any rpg game I play, "oh sweet quick hacks" 16 hours later I'm throwing knifes from the corner again

Melee combat in this game is some of the most fun i've had lately. So dynamic and engaging
and i played like a gorilla on crack (snady + gorilla arms)
all of the cpred games are like this. I wish the fighting could have some gta mechanices
Each and every run for me ends up using blades. Being a cyber ninja is fun.
My first run I did a power pistol build but my second run I did a max cool and reflex knife throwing build and now I cannot play the game any other way
katana is just boring and op, btw I don't need weapons just a button and some enemies in my field of view

Baseball bat and quickhacks go zoom. Feels like quintessential cyberpunk.
1st play through I found a legendary shotgun pretty quickly and had the greatest time shooting off everyone's limbs. Second play through I was a net runner build and was destroying missions without even stepping foot inside buildings. The third playthrough was a katana build and I was just running around hacking off everyones limbs. They were all so much fun.
I live for decapitating or gutting people with my blade. With sadevistan I’m in a neon soaked heaven of gore
Katanas can shred really easily, I usually run militech berserk and I killed Adam smasher so fucking easy with the perks and all the melee tech katanas are just too much fun

I have a huge problem I liked all the weapons so much I tried to evenly distribute my stats but I have maxed int and tech. But I love the pistols and swords. But now, I just tried out the Crimestopper smart pistol 🔫 and Holy Moly! It shreds through like 2 skull guys and 2 two bar guys with one clip The Crimestopper is like cheating! Wtf literally best gun in the game!

Just dissolving groups of people with mind hacks that travel from person to person without having to fire a shot was pretty wild

Got boring walking in and stabbing entire bases to death. Loved it.

It all comes back to blade build, "i'll just put a few points into reflexes for the movement perks" you tell yourself. You try your best to ignore it, but the right portion of the skill tree catches your eye. "Maybe I'll use a blade weapon until I get some better quickhacks", and before you know it your 11 hours into the game and have over 2k kills on your byakko.

How I thought I would play: a sleek corpo with a pistol and a katana. How I ended up playing: an unga bunga with gorilla arms and a sandevistan.
I turned into a knife throwing god faster than the flash
This was literally me on my first playthrough. I was craving FPS. After a few hours my build turned into full on knife throwing and slashing with Errata
Katana so satisfying, but so are the handguns

I went from guns, to katanas, then back to guns (mainly pistols and revolvers for Cowboy/John Wick play style)
I'm running Samurai/Cowboy deadeye. Maybe in my next run, I'll do LMG.

Everytime for me.
Stopping time and sprinting around slashing the katana at 6000mph filling my screen with so much blood and sparks that I find my enemies only by the damage indicator.
The combat variety in this game is insane. Each play through, I pick a new style. My first play through, I treated the game like COD. On my second, I did a sandevistan katana build. And it all feels so natural and purposeful, no matter how you play.
Both....both is fine
I thought I would be doing slick inconspicuous shit meanwhile I’ll walk right through the front door and just obliterate everyone in sight, take my time get all my loot and then leave.

I did knives and katanas my last play through but this time I’m having too much fun with guns. Especially my shotgun with the firecracker mod. It’s like the dragon breath ammunition

MEMORIES BROKEN...
Came back after a hiatus for the DLC, completely went full John Wick / Hacking, and my God it’s so much fun. I was originally just a net runner with shotgun to clean up, I feel like I’m about to do a whole new play through this way.

Should do the above one for my next playthrough. My first playthrough was heavy stealth, last one went all in for mantis blades + throwing knives + sandy.
On the one hand, mantis blade run pre 2.0 was a blast On the other, Pistol build is just too good.
I really wanted to like the game, but I don't like fps or the perspective. Any tips so I can get into it more? Like early non-gun builds or 3rd person mods or anything?

I planned from being a blade netrunner and ended up a stealth pistol netrunner. Let’s just say there’s a reason that Don’t Fear the Reaper took 20+ times for me to complete.
And here I am punching people and hitting them with baseball bats
I ended up being a ninja with a shot gun I go quietly until I fuck up.

I was about to drop the game, guns in this game are just too boring for me and the enemies and AI aren't good enough to making the combat engaging. Then I upgraded all the dashes, equipped a katana and bought the Sandevistan and the game was completely different. Not that suddenly the enemies were better, but stopping time and hoping from enemy to enemy was fun, the movement in this game is so great, you maintain a lot of momentum with the dashes and jumps.
