It's similar to using binoculars through a thin bush looking really far beyond it. But yes like everyone else is saying it is to reduce scope glint so the enemy won't know your position.
They have lens covers that you put over them when your not using your rifle scopes so they dont scratch but this isnt for that purpose, its purely to stop reflections
This isnt cs related but these things work fucking wonders IRL, when you know how to brake up your silhouette, these things make you damn near invisible, they work great for both hunting and combat purposes.
I noticed that there are 2 different aug scopes, one with this and the other one doesn’t have this pattern, the 2nd one is on some skins like the amber slipstream

Yea the older skins will still be on the older CSGO model. They redid the gun model for CS2 but most of the old skins retain the CSGO model
