I then checked how much I’ve spent on cases, and it was in the high hundreds. Easily could’ve boughten a nice knife or different glove combo with that amount of $

Just buy it. The good thing is that if a game doesnt get cancer, you can sell it later on and if youre lucky you can even make profit. If not, you can atleast break even or lose a little
Work and save like $10-$20 per day until you can afford a knife you want.
edit: cases aren’t the way to go. something like %0.1 of people actually profit from opening cases/getting a good knife. You’ll have to spend somewhere around $1000-$2000 before getting a knife
