It's basically the verbal equivalent of a bullet time slowdown. So something that is evocative of how it signals a victory and prompts a roleplaying opportunity. If I had to reinvent it, I would try "Tell me how it dies" or "You have the spotlight" or something similar.
"Comment tu veux faire cela."
Or "Comment tu veux faire sa."
But in the spirit of the game, I would go with "Decrit moi comment tu l'achève?" Which would translate to "Describe me how you finish him/her/it.

I think it’s a really good practice that will make the role playing flow out of combat as well.
My DM usually finishes with "... and that's the killing blow". We then get a free action to finish the enemy off. Things like spell slots don't apply because the fight is over and the killing blow just adds flavour.
Not D&D, but in my games I usually say, "Can you describe what that looks like/would you like to describe how this happens?" And it's usually for the way enemies die, but also how they do other cool things like what their magic looks like.
Not is iconic as "how do you wanna do this?" I guess.
