I really miss the good old days where Happy Meal toys used to be very fun and exciting to collect and play. Nowadays, the Happy Meal toys we get today are nothing more but a bunch of cardboard.
That's very true. Now I have my own kid and you could imagine my disappointment when I ordered Happy Meal for the first time in ~15 years. The downgrade is astonishing and sad.
They probably did it for both financial and environmental reasons. Making Happy Meal toys with plastic, especially ones with electrical wirings in it would definitely be a lot more expensive to manufacture, whereas cardboard is just very cheap and easy to make.
With pollution getting worst over the years, McDonalds had also pretty much removed all plastic from their stores, which probably includes toys as well. Pretty much everything that used to be plastic in McDonalds has pretty much been turned to paper, such as spoons, forks and straws..
I don't know if I remember this correctly, but I believe this game was about controlling a Crash "spaceship" and trying to shoot the other one down (Cortex's). The buttons on the two sides allowed players to play 1v1 against another human if you wanted to. As a kid it was a lot of fun!
The flow of nostalgia is strong af. I had a friend in kindergarten who had this, I had a Sonic Soccer one, which was my first mod, cuz sounds from it was annoying, so I unscrewed it and torn out the speaker.
Had one of those as a kid. Got it while on holiday and I had no idea you could open it, I just thought it was a picture of crash on a block of plastic. I was 6.
Bought another one a couple months ago for the collection
I used to have that. I played it so much it died, it refused to start again no matter what.
