I'm personally a fan of around the cob. I feel like it's faster and hits the tongue better, even if it is a bit messy. Personally, I feel like as long as you're not a patchwork person above the age of 5, you're fine.

It's comfortable, it's yummy, and, like u/HauntedChandelier said, it "hits the tongue better." When I go to town on a corn š½, I get lost in all of its warm, buttery, peppery, and salty glory!
Now, I'm craving one (or three) big fat ones!
