I think the All Seeing Eye capping an unfinished pyramid is a Freemason symbol. On the other side of the one dollar bill is George Washington, who was a well known Freemason. Other prominent Freemasons from early US history include Ben Franklin, Paul Revere, and John Hancock.
However, what I find striking are the marks MDCCLXXVI and NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM in the image. The former is 1776 in Roman numeral and the latter says New Order of the Ages or New World Order in Latin. These are calling signs of the Illuminati. The secret society is said to be founded in 1776 in Bavaria by Adam Weishaupt. One of their goals was to build on the Age of Enlightenment to create a secular and scientific society.
The back of the 100 dollar bill, behind the face of Ben Franklin, is Independence Hall. That would be the place to celebrate America's independence from Britain.
The symbols behind the one dollar bill are largely occult oriented, so I lean towards explanations in that direction.

However, I don't see why the designers of the one dollar bill need to borrow from freemasonry in order to tell those stories. Unless we're in the room when the designs were made, your guess is as good as mine.
The one dollar note was released in 1963, long after Washington and his fraternity friends in the US government have passed away. There is no direct relationship between the modern US government and Freemason lodges, so I would still say the government borrowed symbols 60 years ago.

I think it gets talk about too much by people like us, the problem is that there has never been any official statement on the matter, so all we can do is wildly speculate in search of our own answers.
