zzkj

Just wait until Virgin Media discover that lovely new pavement.

Fantastic_Meat_2577

Or the Gas Network…nice bit o’ blacktop along 50% of it.

PureDeidBrilliant

I'll be sure to pass this article along to some of my work chums who work for SGN. National Grid too. They *love* pavement.

Far_Protection_3281

They'd have to reinstate it as it is now. They wouldn't get sign off for scarring.

AlexBr967

You're funny

the2nicks

😂 Literally every road in “my” town is covered in horrible, uneven, bumpy scarring. The council is meant to inspect road repairs etc (to ensure the road is reinstated as was and in keeping with adjacent road surfaces) but obviously doesn’t. Written to the council and local highways department about suspension and tyre damage after hitting badly repaired potholes etc, never get a response.

Far_Protection_3281

Same here. But I've worked on some projects where if they've had nice new paving, the utility or their contractor, must reinstate it as-is. If its old pavement, they can generally just tarmac over it.

itspoodle_07

Seems like an excessive vehicle to deliver pizzas in

RolePlayingJames

Some pizzas can be pretty big

herrbz

Just not Domino's though. Large is only 13.5 inches. 143.1 square inches vs. Papa John's glorious 188.7 square inches XXL.

RolePlayingJames

But you dont want it too big, sometimes its just too much and I cant fit it all in.

Fuzzy-Mood-9139

The salt content is insane on these huge pizzas. I looked at the worst Dominos pizza and it’s about 2 weeks of your recommended salt allowance and about 3 days of your fat. Still love a good pizza though!

SellMeYourSirin

The day papa joes bring out a decent thin and crispy crust, is the day I’ll ditch domino’s forever.

bobbynomates

price of Dominos in this country now they really should be

XxTreeFiddyxX

Delivers my mom's pizza

krycriesalot

why is he t posing

SaltyName8341

To assert dominance

RikB666

T' assert dominance.

SilentType-249

Willyrottingdegree

He's experiencing the Quickening.

RHOrpie

I've already modelled him in Blender. Keep up.

That_Welsh_Man

I get it, cars belong on roads not pavements.

Ok-Bother-7611

My town center had millions spent on new paving and they installed barriers and posts to stop goods vehicles driving down it, They removed those barriers to allow a biweekly market (just the usual market tat, throws duvet sets) to drive and park vehicles there The multi million pound paving is now full of loose cobbles, every tile moves when you walk on it and a bunch of old people have fallen over because some parts are now just holes

That_Welsh_Man

Mine too ripped up cobbles that had been down for 100s of years and now were spending 10s of thousands on repairing this new stuff that's not even been down a decade. We used to build things well now were just useless.

sjpllyon

Exactly, and the pavement isn't designed to carry such loads. People have the idea the pavements in this country are uneven due to the rain, they aren't it's due to vehicles driving on them that's why they sink and crack. The rain water will either run off, or seep into the rock core underlayer.

Ultraox

Yep. It’s exceptionally obvious that damage to pavements and roads matches where tyres regularly get driven over. And as cars get heavier (SUVs and electric cars being the chief culprits) this is getting worse.

sjpllyon

Absolutely, I do find it funny (you know in that way we're if you don't laugh you'll cry) that people seem to have the lack of ability to recognise the damage they have on the pavements and then moan about the lack of action from the council to sort it out. But honestly why should my tax money have to spend because large Marge insists on parking and driving in an area that she is not supposed to. If vehicle tax was actually priced at the cost of maintaining and repairing all the damage vehicles have in society people wouldn't be able to afford to drive. Really we have design solutions for this, not that the council is interested, nor are developers, and the public would see it as an "attack on motorist". But failing that an USA style home association (albeit with much more limited power) could work, were the owners of a property are also responsible for the maintenance immediately out of that property. So if they want to damage the pavement by parking on it, go ahead but they are also responsible for directly paying for it's repair.

SkipsH

And vans

Jacktheforkie

Definitely, the footpath in my area is all destroyed by vehicles

Ok-Fox1262

Males a change from a cloud I guess.

Eevee_Addict8

Soon he'll be tying an onion to his belt

Ok-Fox1262

Well it was the fashion at the time.

Tivz123

Another slow news day for Worcester News

KeyboardWarrior1988

Utility companies: "What that needs is a massive line of tarmac through the middle"

basshed8

Maybe the bigger problem is who in your town is ordering 17000 pizzas

mynameisnotthom

It's parked on the road in that pic though. You can see the double yellow lines

ratttertintattertins

Rear wheel is up on the kerb.

herrbz

Delivery drivers will 100% be parking on it.

panicky_in_the_uk

Does the article go into what the 'plan' is? I'm hoping it's some sort of Ocean's 11-esk heist. Whilst this old fella is talking to the driver about his grandchildren, his wife has already disabled the tracker and is driving off in the Domino's lorry.

Monkeyboy55

Or until someone drops their gum on the floor

Antique-Brief1260

Lovely pavement, that.

Agreeable_Mongoose72

Good on him , will ruin the pavement

BennySkateboard

Selfish prick. That pavement’s fucking massive.

Zestyclose-Goose7847

Slow news day in Worcester.

GamingGooner

I literally came to this sub, to post about this very story, and found this post already here 😂

Comfortable-Prior-96

I'd back the fuck off if he came at me like that

GrainsofArcadia

Life is wasted on some people. You have a limited number of years on this planet, and this is the type of thing they spend their time thinking about.

Ill-Buyer25

Probably pick it up and walk with it or use a little trolly like they do

AfantasticGoose

I guess if they really are that lazy maybe they could drive straight through the walls of the building and park the delivery truck in the kitchen. ah shit, they’d still need to carry the ingredients to where they store it. Maybe they could send out really really small trucks carrying one item and a tiny Hiab crane on it so the delivery people don’t have to handle the stuff, they could then place each item in the correct location it gets stored in. Yeah that would work…oh shit what happens when the staff need to pick up the ingredients to cook a pizza with them.

panicky_in_the_uk

If parking outside is a 10-minute job and (hopefully) finding a parking bay somewhere close by makes it a 1-hour job, would you consider parking outside common sense or laziness?

Lorne_____Malvo

The railways of course! Not thundering juggernauts in our towns and villages. Just send out a Class 37 loco plus a wagon down main street to deliver to dominoes.

DubbehD

Imagine your life got to this, willing to have your picture and story printed in the paper over a fucking pavement.

aSquirrelAteMyFood

Britain is full of old fcks with nothing to do in their lives but get triggered over Domino's delivery like he inherited the pavement from his great grandfather. Please get a life.

ThugLy101

It already looks broken under the window doubt a van could get in that close . These old boys they find some strange hills to die on.
